Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of this title.

Avalon is on the point of collapse with 3 beings vying for the crown. Gwen knows that she cannot allow any of them to win regardless of whether or not she is in love with one of them. How will she get her new home under control. And does she even want control? A wonderful conclusion to this romantasy series!

I am so sorry to see this story conclude, but I will say that it has concluded in a beautiful way! I was surprised by the ending, however, I cannot see it ending any other way. Gwen has gone from being an absolute obnoxious waif to a force to be reckoned with. If you don't have this series on your TBR, start now!

Considering there was absolutely no spicy times in this book, this was actually working out to be a 4 star read for me. But then we got the ending. And that absolutely ruined the whole thing. I hated how this ended. Truly.

It was great to see Gwen deciding what she wanted and going for it despite what her choice would mean. Does she still hope to avoid needless deaths? Of course. But she also realizes that by freeing Mordred, elementals will die. Best she can hope for is to try and save the few who don't want to go around mindlessly killing all the mortals. Her plan from the end of the last book is still the best she's got going here, which isn't promising at all. But she's getting used to her witchy powers and getting better at using them. She even manages to dream share with Mordred again. Which is probably a good thing.

Mordred's stay in the crystal seems to be way worse on his psyche than it was on any of the other elementals. When they were released, they all seemed to still have their minds intact. Well, more or less. But merely weeks of it has Mordred quickly unraveling and changing for the worst. Gwen's visits help to tether him because she quiets the voices, and together they figure out a way to figure out where the crystal was hidden.

I was really frustrated with Galahad here and Zoe really became a bad guy. Which was something I didn't expect of her. While I loved the almost fatherly relationship between Galahad and Gwen that prevented either one from being able to hurt the other, Galahad's relationship with Zoe seemed less about love and more about blind devotion this time around. He hated what she was doing, yet always chose to support her because he loved her.

Mordred was freed from the crystal much sooner than I expected, but I was glad for that. I always have loved his interactions with Gwen and these two really didn't let me down in that regards. Plus it was such a great trump card to be pulled at the final battle. And here's where things started getting more frustrating for me. Mordred does something to Gwen in order to protect her. Of course his way of protecting isn't the same as hers and she gets furious when she sees what he has done to her as a betrayal. So much so that she still hasn't forgiven him centuries later. But here's the thing. How many times did she betray him and he forgave her right away? I hate hypocrites.

The final battle was a good one. I was not unhappy with how everything went down. But it was Gwen's proclamation at the end that had me saying what the actual fuck. Seriously? You did everything you could to save your love and then do that? And then the final end when we find out how little they still see each other? Very unhappy with that ending.

Despite me hating how this series ended, overall, I did love it. And that all comes down to Mordred and Gwen's relationship. I enjoyed their violent interactions and how they turned both of them on. I loved how they would tease each other and simply be playful. They just worked for me.

I would definitely read more from this author.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: kinda HFN
POV: multi 3rd person POV (Gwen, Mordred, Galahad)
spice: one open-door spicy scenes
TWs: drugging, exile, mental torture (nondescriptive, insinuated), violence, war
standalone: book 4 of The Iron Crystal series- cannot be read as a standalone
final thoughts: I was anticipating this series finale BIG TIME and while it was a fun, adventurous read… I didn’t feel like I got what I wanted out of this series!
We, once again, have amazing side characters. Ones you love to love, ones you love to hate, and ones you hate to love. The writing and plot is easy to read with so many characters, changing perspectives, and plot points which makes it easy to stay in the story.
Eod and Tim were the only reason this book rated so high for me because they continue to be the sweetest, silliest, most loyal characters who bring lightness to an otherwise dark storyline.
This, for me, didn’t feel like a conclusion and I hope we get an extended epilogue where there is a true HFN/HEA for the main characters. It felt like we left in the middle of a story, and I get frustrated when I think about it LOL

To Love a Dark Lord' marks the conclusion of The Iron Crystal series, returning readers to the enchanting realm of Avalon. The story once again ensnares readers in the turbulent saga of Gwen and Mordred, whose mutual affection is as fervent as the magic that unites them.

"To Love a Dark Lord" delves into the quest for power. Mordred is now accountable for his offenses against the elementals, facing a punishment intended to unhinge him. Gwen, resolute in her mission to liberate him, confronts adversaries vying for the throne. This chapter reveals the true mettle of Gwen.

Confronted with daunting choices, Gwen acts despite her trepidations, demonstrating significant growth from the first book. Those who belittled her, including Mordred, are about to discover her resilience.

The story hidden between the pages of "To Love a Dark Lord" is rife with action and heartbreak. With lives sacrificed and relationships tested, the conclusion of the story is one that I never would have predicted. The outcome for Gwen and Mordred was unexpected, and while it did not align with this reader's hopes, the fact they were contended with their fate left the reader satisfied.

Bidding farewell to this enchanting world comes with a tinge of sadness, however I cherish the journey I embarked on with Gwen, Mordred and the supporting characters.

Nevertheless, I'm left wondering about Gwen's earthly family. Gaining insight into their emotions regarding her sudden absence would have been enlightening.

Readers who enjoy fantasy will want to add this series to their reading list. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

I struggled with this one, first because it was difficult to get into and then because the ending was predictable. It recycled the theme from the unseelie books she wrote so that was a bit disappointing.

One unsatisfying and lackluster smut scene that I feel was just in there “because”.

Overall this series was her best, the FMC was reasonable and not an idiot, the MMC was not completely unhinged, just fell victim to “ends justify the means”. I did have an issue that we spent 3 books hearing about how Mordred never wanted to be king and how he wished it had been Arthur for him to do a 180 and become hellbent on it. I also feel Gwen is pretty hypocritical a few items that I can’t mention without spoilers, but she ended up being a let down.

My biggest disappointment is that the FMC is never the villain, never gets turned to the dark side and is always the harbinger of light and fairness. I was really hoping Gwen would go on a rampage for Mordred and it just never happened.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Hmm. The hopes I placed on the final book of the Iron Crystal series were destroyed. I’m actually really disappointed at the ending.

This is a four book series that I don’t think needed to be a four book series. Each book felt like Mordred and Gwen were waffling back and forth on their decisions and feelings. It left me wondering, why is this series 4 books long? It felt like the conclusion of this series that was wrapped up in the last 10% of the book was too rushed.

There were funny moments and sweet moments, but romance readers expecting a true HEA will be disappointed. I feel like this would be a good binge read for fantasy book lovers, but not for romance readers expecting a traditional HEA.

Thank you to Second Sky for the ARC. All thoughts/ opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.

Hmm! This was not the ending I was expecting. I love how each one of these have been very different from what I was expecting…keeps me on my toes.

I like that there’s no heavy spice in this one(never thought I’d say that!) because it would’ve taken away from the story’s conclusion.

Also, some of these character arcs are wild 👁️👄👁️

I know this isn’t an ALC but I did listen/read it bc I had already preordered the audio. The narrator is stellar. She is the reason I keep buying the audiobooks.

These books deserve the hype other books are getting on BookTok.

I have loved these characters dearly for the last year. Sad that it is all over, but happy I can buy a complete set now.

Love that I found Kathryn Ann Kingsley/Second Sky through NetGalley. Now I have a new favorite author/publisher.

Thank you so much to the author, the publisher, & to NetGalley for the Arc in exchange for my review!

Cheers!

I have absolutely loved this series and was very excited to finish it! However, this one was very disappointing. Still enjoyed it but it just was not connecting this time. I felt like this book was just a means to an end for this series.

I also did not like the ending at all! Especially after all the back and forth between Gwen and Mordred from the very beginning just for the way it ended to be it. I so badly wanted to love this book especially because I of how I felt about the other three.

So much to wrap up, such a short book. The ending was bittersweet/on the melancholy side. I feel like there could have been a better solution if they’d gotten creative. Felt like we got teased with an HEA then given a consolation prize that makes me feel sad overall for the characters. It was a good book and I love the characters, just not ultimately landing where I was hoping.

WARNING - NOT A HEA

This series started off well, I enjoyed the first book, I still had some hope after the second book, but all went downhill from the third.
Culminating in this fourth book which was, tbh, a bit of a dumpster fire.
By the end of it, I ended up hating the MMC with a passion and hoping he would die, the FMC was being DUMB, and at 80% I almost DNF’d. I had to hate read the last 20% only because I was nearly at the end.
The story did not redeem itself. There was no sense of resolution or completion at the end, I just felt ANGRY.
A shame because I really liked this author’s other series The Maze of Shadows. This one was just not it. The MMC was irredeemable by the end, and it was not an enjoyable read.
You've been warned.

I didn't like this series at all. The only character in the book I could stand was Mordred. Qwen was way over hyped it was too much lying and acting like she was a goody two shoes. It was crazy, then when he betrayed her it was like I can't believe you and I don't forgive you, but yet they loved each other. Yeah, okay.

Thank you so incredibly much to the author and publisher, Second Sky, for sharing an ARC of this book with me on NetGalley!!!

"When you reached your breaking point and decided this world was yours to burn." He crooked a finger under her chin and tilted her head up toward him. "And by the Ancients, you are beautiful."

"I know who you are. I know what you are. I just know that isn't the whole story. There's so much more to you than what they see. You may be a monster, but for fuck's sake, you're my monster,”

This book … broke my heart. In the best and yet worst possible ways. Can I go into details? I cannot, unfortunately. You will have to read it to understand. When I first dived into Gwen and Mordred’s story I was not sure there were any redeemable qualities about him, for which I could understand her falling in love with him in the first place. But then slowly through the books, I fell for him myself. And there was no stopping it. After the massive cliffhanger that was the end of book three, the surprise I felt at desperately needing the next instalment wasn’t easy to explain. And when I got to this one … I was overwhelmed. I wanted it all. I wanted it asap. But I also didn’t want it to be over. The characters brought me back once again in a complicated version of Camelot and its magic. Gwen brought me back into her complicated relationship with her dark Prince. And I couldn’t stop reading. Action packed, spicy and sweet but also very painful. I was crying at the end, not gonna lie. Was I expecting the way the author decided to end things? Not really. Would have I hoped for something different? Maybe. Am I complaining about what happened? Not at all. I feel like at the end of it all, each character got its own happy ending. Unconventional or otherwise. Mordred always being Mordred and Gwen always been the light to his darkness. They both have my heart and they forever will!!! I’m sad the journey is over but I’m so so happy I went along for the ride!!

“It earned him her most vicious glare. "Are you here to fight or to fuck?"
"Oh, my dear, sweet firefly. You know the answer to that already." He chuckled darkly before his next word sent shivers up her spine again for a very different reason than before.
"Both."

“His life was hers—and in service to hers— even if she did not wish to see it that way. The King in Iron would reign to keep his Queen of Flames alight. And if she deemed him worthy of death, he would accept his fate.
Life without her would be far worse.”

This series should come with a clear warning that it does NOT have a HEA.

Enemies-to-lovers is a beloved genre because of the switch: the ruthless enemy becomes a lover through growth, sacrifice, and real change. That never happens here.

After four books, the MMC ultimately chooses the crown over her (I’m aware he did it while also planning on keeping her safe, but the whole “how dare she become queen and not me,” dialogue was disgusting). That choice makes the entire journey deeply unsatisfying. What’s framed as romance reads more like an unhealthy trauma bond than a partnership. The MMC is not redeemable after his choices in the last book, and the FMC remains unchanged by the world she was brought into. Other than us being told she’s stronger, but unfortunately it doesn’t come through in her actions in a satisfying way. These characters are the same as the were day one in book one.

While the external conflict between elementals does resolve and the fighting does stop, the emotional arc does not. The MMC’s betrayal and banishment feel less like catharsis and more like confirmation that the relationship was never built on trust or mutual respect.

Moral grayness isn’t the issue. I enjoy morally gray characters, but moral ambiguity still requires emotional movement. These characters remain largely static, and by the end the FMC’s arc feels flat and uninspired. This could have been finished in one book.

The series starts strong, and I kept wondering why it never reached the popularity of A Court of Thorns and Roses. By the final book, the answer is clear.

This felt less like enemies-to-lovers and more like a cautionary tale, which would be fine but that is not what it is marketed as

I’ve seen readers still recommend Kathryn Ann Kingsley’s other work. I enjoyed her recent vampire novel. But this ending was so unsatisfying that I’ll be skipping whatever comes next. And I loved the moral greyness of the characters in the beginning of both series, but it fails to deliver on the ending and just leaves a bitter taste.

I’d say maybe this type of writing isn’t for me, but I LOVE morally grey MMC, but they need to be morally grey for the FMC not to the FMC.

I’ll end my rant.

I couldn't wait to start reading this book and it did not disappoint!

Eod, the dog, is such an adorable animal companion. He was so cute everytime he spoke to Gwen telepathically and called her mom ("mom sad?"..."I protect!" 🥺)

I love the world building in this series and this book was no exception. The land, the magic, the myths and legends just fit so well.

I'm glad that Gwen finally stopped lying and/or hiding things from Mordred as that was one of my biggest pet peeves with her character in the previous books. Yes, she thought she was doing it for good reasons but in the end, it led to more problems and bigger conflicts.

Gwen really displayed some huge personal growth in this book. She finally learnt that sometimes death and punishment was necessary. She also learnt how tonweirld her magic more and became a lot more confident.

I've always had a soft spot for Mordred. He's not morally grey, misunderstood or torn about his decisions and actions. He is very much aware that he is a monster and cruel and he has never pretended to be anything else. That being said, he does love Gwen with all of his cold, iron heart 😂.

The banter between Mordred and Gwen always makes me laugh. Gwen especially has very colourful language and I love it. She is witty and a quick thinker.

The pacing was so good that I finished reading in one sitting, and it only took me a few hours because I was just so engrossed in the plot.

One thing I really appreciated was that Kathryn Ann Kingsley made it clear from the very start that Gwen was going to free Mordred from his prison and she didn't spend the majority of the book jumping from one disaster to the next before doing so. It meant that the plot had a clear direction and progressed very nicely.

I love Kathryn's writing style and she's definitely become one of my auto buy authors.

Disappointing end to a disappointing series. A little upset that I wasted so much time reading these. It dragged on and on for 4 books that pretty much had no real differences. Characters did not grow or learn anything. Same concept for each one, just in different words. Especially disliked the FMC. I really did try to enjoy these, and at times it felt like it was starting to look up, but it’d go back to how it was before.

MMC seemed like he was growing as a character, but went back to square one. He seemed to be changing for the better before he was put into the crystal, however, being in there for a very short amount of time compared to the other elementals, he came back much worse where it otherwise sounds like the other who were in there came out pretty much the same after 300 years. Perhaps much more vengeful, but still the same. Nothing changed with him and it was a little disappointing because he was the only character I actually liked.

FMC never grows once. It feels like a poor attempt at making a ‘fierce’ woman, but her age definitely shows every single time she shows up. At 19, she seems to think she knows what’s best for this world rather than the several thousands years old characters. Nothing she did in any of these books made her appealing at all. Time and time again she betrays the trust of the man she supposedly ‘loves’ and, for some reason, expects him to forgive her. All she has done is lie and manipulate at every turn and the one time he finally gives her what she deserves, she’s pissed at him. As if she somehow should have been treated better. She makes it very clear that she never actually cared about this character and I’m surprised that any of the side characters would ever feel bad for her.

Overall, I genuinely think this could have been a good series. The general idea was not terrible and I was hooked for the first few chapters of the first book. But it was executed poorly throughout. Spiciness was good, I wasn’t disappointed with any of that at the very least. I think, however, all 4 of these could have been made into just 1 book.

Title: To Love a Dark Lord (The Iron Crystal Quartet Book 4) by Kathryn Ann Kingsley

Release Date: June, 14th, 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars

Gwen is determined to free Mordred, the Prince in Iron, from his magical prison before his mind is destroyed. Despite centuries of imprisonment, their love remains strong, driving Gwen to take extreme measures to save him. Meanwhile, Mordred struggles to maintain his sanity as he awaits liberation. As Gwen faces battles and betrayal to fulfil her quest, she must confront the possibility that freeing Mordred may unleash a power more terrifying than Avalon has ever known.

"To Love a Dark Lord" by Kathryn Ann Kingsley delivers a captivating and addicting conclusion to the Iron Crystal Quartet. The tale of Gwen and Mordred's tumultuous romance, set against the backdrop of a magical and dangerous world, kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

Kingsley weaves together elements of romance, fantasy, and suspense, creating a story that is both thrilling and deeply emotional. I found myself rooting for Gwen as she fights to free Mordred from his prison, even as she grapples with the consequences of her actions.

The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the tension between love and darkness is palpable throughout.

This is a must-read for fans of romances where enemies become lovers, baddies who are seductive, and magical worlds filled with danger. I devoured this book in one sitting and found it to be a satisfying conclusion to an unforgettable series.

Thank you to The Publisher Second Sky ,The Author Kathryn Ann Kingsley & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.

What an ending to a great fantasy series! Be ready to let out a sob or two 'cos not all of your secondary character favourites are going to make it to the end!

Gwen and Mordred have kept us hopping over these 4 books. They are at odds as often as they are working together. They love and hate each other in just about equal measure. Mordred is just about ready to blow up his world - talk about morally dark! Gwen just wants everyone to get out alive - neither are going to get what they want.

Mordred really was put in an untenable position and tried to do what he thought Arthur would want and then when that reveal comes alone - blam his whole reason for being in the state he is, well it's kind of whipped from under him!

There is more than enough action and I loved that the human inhabitants of Avalon and Camelot are finally getting involved - as outmatched as they are they are saying ENOUGH! There is spice and smexy thoughts and some hates&x at times.

At times I wanted to cry and hold Mordred's hand and others times I wanted to smack him on the head. Gwen was still quite naïve in her dealings with there duplicitous Fae - I had hopes she would have grown a few more callouses on her soft heart but then she wouldn't be Gwen I suppose.

My favourite secondary characters remain Eod, Mae and Tim - I really loved the rickey buckets of bolts that made up Gwen's army!

I recently had the opportunity to join the tour organized by Second Sky Books, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on the 4th book in the Iron Crystal series.

This latest instalment brings us back into the world of Gwen and Mordred as we prepare to bid farewell to these beloved characters. The quick-paced, Arthurian legend-inspired fantasy novel culminates in an epic conclusion where the fate of Avalon's rulership hangs in the balance. The unexpected ending took me by surprise, but it was masterfully executed.

The book strikes a perfect balance between seduction and action, creating a thoroughly engaging experience. The complex dynamics of love and hate between Gwen and Mordred add depth to the narrative, especially as they find themselves working towards conflicting goals. Additionally, the infusion of spiciness adds an extra layer of intrigue.

Overall, this conclusion to the series was nothing short of epic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

Absolutely adored this final instalment in the iron crystal series and devoured it in a few hours.

This last instalment is jam packed with action and although the ending isn’t what I expected, I loved it all the same. I also enjoyed how the side characters whom we’ve grown to love, got more of the story in this book.

The chemistry between Gwen and Mordred is absolutely electric and has grown so much from the first book. This enemies to lovers with all its tension (and spice 😜) just hits different from anything else I’ve read. Mordred really is morally grey but you love him and root for him throughout.

In, to love a dark lord, Gwen has a few hard decisions to make that could prove fatal to many while poor Mordred's sanity hangs in the balance. They face off against the elementals and some other well known characters for Avalon and its rulership.

Overall I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and the ending was bittersweet. I would definitely recommend it.

Oh, be still my beating heart. Those last chapters my god I was sobbing. Despite it being the only way it could end it is still a bitter pill to swallow.

Gwen just wow. What a woman. The only one to see sense when no one else could. And Zoe, why oh why? I can't even bring myself to speak of the Gossamer lady.

I am going to miss this world. The fantasy mixed Arthurlorian with a bit of spice. I loved seeing old characters coming back. I blitz books 2 3 and 4 quickly and am feeling the loss now.

Gwen is everything I want in an FMC. A young timid girl in the beginning hides behind her sarcastic nature and becomes this strong beautiful woman who knows how to enter the room.

I am only sad that we didn't find out about her parents and where they think she is.

Kingsley got the humour with Grinn and Gwen, the love with Mordred, and the deep hurt Gwen feels to a t. She made you feel them all. I was gutted and felt the loss she felt. And still, that ending! It will take probably 300 hundred years to get over it...

I have to thank the author for this fantastic series and my gentle introduction to a spicy fantasy series

NO SPOILERS!
Another Arthurian-ish retelling series! This series started off so strong and captured my heart immediately. It takes place after the death of King Arthur. It is whimsical and light hearted with a laid back and comedic FMC (Gwen) which is counteracted with a dark, broody and seemingly evil MMC (Mordred).

The story starts when a young girl woman is transported against her will to another world of limitless magic in which a sentient land imbues power on beings.

When a war ensues between magical beings we follow the story of Gwen, Mordred, and the many Knights of the round table and all the other creatures of the land to stabilize the world by trapping them in a magical crystal. I laughed many times and I got teary eyed at least once in this whole thing. But I stayed for the character development, plot, and the epic spice!

Only reason the last book is 3 ⭐️ was because things slowed down a bit and the ending was meh, which I feel is typical for 3+ book series 😅. I’d rec this book for any romantasy lover who is looking for a more lighthearted vibe. Thank you Netgalley and the author for letting me read all of these wonderful books 🥰

This series was such a wild journey! Their was a lot that happened in book 4: war, battles of the heart, loosing loved ones, but in the end everything ended up working out and we had a HEA (although I personally wish it would have ended a little bit differently 🖤) the growth of the characters from book one to book four was perfect. Gwen became such a great MFC and did what she had to do for herself, her people of Avalon and for Mordred. I also feel like Mordred had a lot of changes that happened on this journey and he did as best he could given the circumstances he was working with. One thing was for certain throughout this series, and that was his love for Gwen, and I absolutely loved him. Also, Eod was the bestest boy 🥹 and I adored Maewenn and Tim.

While there were a lot of heartbreaking moments in this final book, there were also heartwarming moments as well. This book had me in a vice grip and I had it finished in less that 24 hours. Kathryn is an amazing writer and she did such an amazing job with The Iron Crystal series 🖤 I am so sad to see it end. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

This is the 4th book and the conclusion of the series.
I did read the last book but not the first 2 and I still was able to enjoy the books. It has Camelot,Galahad, Lancelot and the wizard of oz all rolled into this fantasy romance book.
Mordred has ruled over Avalon for centuries and people fear hm. He is not the nicest being and some would like to take away his power, which has happened but now Gwen , who is in love with him wants to release him from captivity, But she s also afraid of what will become of Avalon when she does free him.
Gwen fight for those she cares about but she also does not want blood shed. Mordred doesn't like the Elementals and wants them all dead even if they are not the enemy. Gwen is also fighting against Galahad and his woman.
The ending was perfect for this series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Second Sky for the ARC to read.

Not as good as Maze of Shadows, to me, but still good!

The Iron Crystal Series (Katheryn Ann Kingsley): FMC is "forced" to escape her burning house through a portal ripped open by her "cat" and lands in a magical world; Now having magic herself, she is a direct "threat" to the Prince of the realm for having power he has sought to extinguish for the "betterment" of their world. Tension, flirting, banter, f¡ghting/arguments, MMC is broody/lonely/paranoid/"evil"/forceful but also (mostly) polite, FMC is chatty and confident when you'd least expect and suffers from anxiety and is way too soft hearted, betr@yals/anger, spice, f0rced bonds, knights f0rced into servitude of the MMC, an odd wizard, a loyal dog, a dem0n, w@r, honor/duty/law are held in high reguard, gifts of power, impr¡s0nment, r€venge motivated "elementals", exile, acients/gods, a rise to power, secrets, a bittersweet HEA (well, kind of.)

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

I will say this about these books…do not read any of them if you have plans for the day! Because you won’t do anything but read these from start to finish in one sitting!

I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters! I absolutely loved the way this ended and it was so bittersweet.

This book is the conclusion for Mordred and Gwen. They face off against the elementals and Zoe and Galahad but who will win and become King or Queen of Avalon!

4/5 stars and I will be buying this whole series for my shelf! I feel like this just might be my new favorite comfort read!

4.5! ♡

I can't believe this is the last book in this series because I was so not ready to say goodbye to these characters and this story! While it didn't go the way I thought it would, I think it was the right ending after all the events of the other books. Everything wrapped up really nicely and made sense for the characters. They stayed true to themselves which I really liked because it really could have gone either way.

But after reading it, it felt like the perfect conclusion to the series and I am so glad I finally continued to read and finish the series! Will definitely miss the characters and the little found family they created! ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great series finale! There was so much action in this book and the story moved at a fast pace. I really loved how Gwen really came into her own and was so strong in this book. I also really enjoyed having sections from Galahad’s point of view, that was an amazing addition that really added to the story overall. I really enjoyed the ending in this book because it was happy in a way and everything was wrapped up nicely.

Not a good ending.

Unfortunately, the ending and last book were a bit of a let down. I enjoyed the fresh take in the first few books, but really did not like the ending (no HEA, actually a fairly sad ending). It felt rushed and veered into goofy territory for me. It was disappointing because the character initially felt so relatable. I think there should be a disclaimer for the series regarding the ending, hopefully the reviews reflect it for future readers earlier in the series. I wish I had just stopped at book three and imagined that things worked themselves out.

The culmination of the Iron Crystal series.

Sort of enemies to lovers but still enemies at the same time. Plenty of conflict both physical and emotional.

Not my favourite book in the series but a decent end to it all. They do need to be read in sequence to know what’s going on and make the most of the series.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4

Thanks to publisher and NetGalley for an ARC copy to review.

fantastic

don't miss this final story! It's amazing thst every page was extremely exciting yet has some humor as well. Gwendolyn is fighting for her lover and he get imprisoned in his own creation for 1000 years but She can't live without him and so many others who are against her but few that are on her side. She makes hard decisions and some are so shocking that they almost 😅 had me crying. great work of writing!
