When I was nineteen, I married my high school sweetheart. Against my family's wishes. I thought I was doing the right thing, I believed she would be the one and that I could learn to love her. But I was wrong. She turned out to be someone I didn't recognize. I decided being single and living in the fast lane was best. I was enjoying myself. Until I bumped into her, into them. It was then I realized what instant love was. They were mine, and I was theirs; I just knew it. But then our club was betrayed by someone we grew up with, By our own VP, a role I had to take over. We all had trust issues, and my new role took a toll on me. I messed up. I let someone whisper in my ear, and I pushed her away. I hurt her and, in the process, lost them both. I saw the error of my ways, but I was too late. She met someone else, someone who thought he could be competition. He was an idiot, and one thing is for sure. They are mine, and he doesn't stand a chance. Because, like it or not, I will get them back. Even if it meant killing someone who threatens what's mine.
Olivia
Becoming a teen mom was never in my plans. It was a surprise and damn, was I scared. But once I held that baby in my arms, I knew I would be okay. She’d become my everything, the reason why I got up in the morning. I was happy with where I was despite things being hard. I didn’t need a man or want one. My girl was my sole focus. Until she latches onto a brother from the local MC. As soon as our eyes met, my body knew he was mine. And my girl thought he was definitely hers. I let myself fall; he became my person, he became hers. Until he didn’t. Until he hurt me, hurt her. I walked away without looking back, adamant to move on. I didn’t deserve his anger or his negative treatment, and neither did my daughter. I didn’t deserve to be questioned when I gave him my heart. Let him in our lives. I planned to raise my girl and never see the tattooed biker again. But he realized his mistake, He wanted me back. But what he didn’t realize was that I was a mama bear. And I don’t give second chances. It doesn’t matter if he’s sorry; it doesn’t matter if my heart needs him. He hurt me. I was done even though he wasn’t. He was fighting dirty, pulling me closer when I tried to pull away. He didn’t want to let me go and was willing to do anything to keep me, us. Even if it meant killing.
This can be read as a standalone but is better if books are read in order to get an understanding of other characters. This is book 2 of 7 of The Devil’s MC series, with a HEA. Due to mature content and themes this book is recommended for readers aged 18+, this novel may contain triggers.
Nowadays I read for fun, so I can overlook things like poor editing, messy plots, and subpar writing if the action or drama is high, but, even I have limits of how much nonsense I can swallow. And Smokey pushed me over the ledge.
There were so many issues with this book that made ZERO sense. Where Snake had illogical bits, here, the entire plot was built on misunderstandings and inconsistencies that my brain locked on killing my enjoyment.
I had several grumps…
❌ The timeline is an absolute mess. At age 18, Olivia finds out she’s pregnant. The next time we see her she is 22 meeting Smokey and April (her daughter) has just turned 1 which would make her have over a 3-year pregnancy. Then we have a 2-year FFWD and she’s four, and it ends with her 5th birthday. Also, they keep repeating that they were separated for 2 years, but we read almost 3 years of time jumps and the kid aged 4 years. It was super confusing, and the kid acted like a baby the entire time which was weird.
❌ Inconsistent tone. This may be a Jac thing, but I really need authors to pick a lane and stick to it. Are they badass bikers or momma boys? Are they smart or stupid… tough or weak? Because these dudes do not learn lessons and are being led around by these manipulative club skanks that aren’t smart or sneaky. I don’t want to give spoilers, so let’s look at Doc, who is supposed to be a surgeon and smart, but is humiliating the “love of his life” because some skank claims she’s pregnant with no proof. And the story about her “miscarriage” was so sus it’s laughable, but he just meekly puts up with it all like a wimp. Until someone has the nerve to bully his sister, then he’s going to chop off his hands with an axe for daring to touch her. What? Where’s that angry alpha-ness while dealing with Prue?
❌Too many flashbacks. There are TONS of flashbacks mid paragraph that were super repetitive.
❌Too many time jumps. The plot jumps numerous times skipping over important parts robbing me of development and feels. He HUMILIATES her—jump 2 years. Her daughter just had surgery and he admits to OW shenanigans—6-month jump. This led to SO MUCH telling and not showing making it hard to form any attachment to the characters.
❌ Too many dum-dum moments prolonged misunderstanding. There were too many times that the characters failed to act like normal people, and the assumptions went on for WAY TOO LONG when a simple logical convo would’ve put everyone on the same page. The reasons and excuses for the prolonged conflict were silly.
❌ So many illogical bits. Who signs a prenup that says you can’t divorce unless there is infidelity? Why are all these chicks (nurses, travel agent, strippers) acting like these dudes are millionaires? Wouldn’t the nurse try landing a doctor? Why does everyone overshare? Her ex is seriously going to tell strangers about lube and tearing… wouldn’t he just say you fucked up I’m gay?
Bottom Line- This was too messy for me. I was bored, I was confused, I was annoyed BUT you bet your ass I’m reading Breaker and Quinn’s 😂 and I will be all over Doc and Tech’s books. I do enjoy watching these OW skanks get killed off.
I love this one. So much shit happens to get between them. Jealous psycho chicks, memories and just each other an their shit. I loved how it all worked out in the end. I can't wait to read the next book.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads. ======================== Story full of subplots going on at the same time and kind of dragging. But I'm going to continue the series and hope it gets better.
I just finished this book. It will not be a full review. Apologies for any typos. Spoilers ahead.
H is a biker, Jonny aka Smokey, and h is a single mom, Olivia, of a little girl, April.
H marries his high school sweetheart when she becomes "pregnant". He had originally planned to break up with her because he doesn't love her. H stupidly signs prenup with a cheating clause that could cost him all his money. Ever since finding out she "lost" the pregnancy, they've had a dead marriage for 3 years. H is trying to catch his wife cheating so he can divorce. He finally does catch her with an old high school classmate who the wife has been cheating with since high school. H divorces her and since then has led the single man-ho biker life.
Meanwhile, h is a few years younger. She was the head cheerleader who dated her best friend, Phil, the star of the soccer team. Losing their virginities to each other, Phil realizes he's gay. Regardless, they conceive their child. Phil's parents kick him out when he wouldn't marry h and when he tells them he's gay. So h, Phil, and baby lives with h's mom, a nurse in her small apartment while h got her culinary degree and working at a bakery and Phil is still in school for his architecture degree.
H and h meet in a bakery when h's daughter grabs H by his leather cut. It was love at first sight for H. He fell in love with h and her daughter. They date for 5 months.
Meanwhile, H's MC and his mom doesn't like h because of her closeness with her daughter's father, her best friend. They don't know he's gay. H's ex-wife who has been trying to get him back all these years, shows H "proof" that h is cheating on H with baby daddy. During MC barbecue party when the h and daughter show up is when show down happens. H is cruel to h and her daughter. He calls her nasty names and calls her daughter a brat. He starts yelling which makes her daughter cry and they are kicked out of the MC party. H pretends that he is still married to ex-wife. h is devastated. Baby daddy/best friend Phil confronts H and MC and tell them the truth. H is regretful. But h is done. This was all within the first 6 chapters. After this, the story dragged.
What I Liked: 1. The chapter where H accuses the h of cheating and the following chapter where H realizes he messed up. The drama, angst and the truth reveal were satisfying.
2. I like the dynamic between baby daddy/gay best friend Phil and the H. Once H realizes Phil is gay, they are close, and Phil tries to help H get h back. I like how they call the daughter, "our daughter". April calls H daddy and Phil Papa. I like that Phil is also close to H's family and MC.
3. Both were celibate during separation.
What I Didn't Like: 1. The time jump - it was so many and so unnecessary - 2 years, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months, etc. There was no progress made in any of these time jumps. I found it funny how H would say it was time's up and he was getting the h back, then there would be a time jump, but he never makes any progress and it kept happening. All in all, 3 years passed since the MC barbecue and while h allow H to take care of her daughter, she wouldn't give him the time of day. We are told he's been trying hard, but we don't see that because of all the time jumps. Also, there was an error. H meets h and daughter when she is 1 years old. They dated for 5 months. The next time jump is 2 years later and now the daughter went from being 1 years old to 4 years old. A 4 month time jump, the daughter is then 5 years old.
2. I didn't like the h. She was so prideful and would withhold information. For instance, gay baby daddy/best friend gives her permission to tell H that he is gay, but she doesn't because of "principles". During separation, she goes on a few dates with a guy who ends up stalking her and her daughter. She files restraining order, but withhold that information from H and everyone. She continues to let H believe her stalker is her boyfriend. Also her reasons for not getting back with H were so stupid. First, H's ex-wife lies and say she and H are getting back together. She doesn't believe it, yet tells herself she shouldn't get in the way of H's happiness even though everyone including H is telling her H loves her. Then when she realizes the lie she doesn't believe, but believed for 2 years, she decides she isn't good enough for H so for another year she continues this dance of enticing the H, but pushing him away. Through all these years, the H keeps trying. There was a moment where he gets an unfinished blowjob from a club girl because she would make him believe they have a chance only to push him away again. He gets drunk and got an unfinished blowjob until his parents show up to stop him. This book was unnecessarily long because of the h. It could have been shorter.
3. I think the author tried to do too much all in one book. So many things were happening in this book. Within a few chapters h was assaulted by her stalker than kidnapped by H's ex-wife and ex club girl. Then there was a brief amnesia plot.
4. Not really a dislike, but more of a trigger warning. The sex scenes with ow are graphic and so are the assault scenes.
Overall, this book had potential, but the execution fell flat for me. This book also sets up the stories of future books in the series. I am really curious to see how the future books will go, but if it's anything like her previous MC series, I think it will frustrate me. I didn’t read them, but reading the reviews, the male leads' mistreatment of the female leads is so egregious with really boundary crossing ow drama that the grovel or ending doesn't seem satisfactory. In comparison to the other male leads in her other MC books, Smokey is rather tame and likeable.

It’s me and not the book, or better, it’s the book that’s not for me. I just can’t get into the mindset of MC virtual life, because as far as I know MC members are definitely not like those in books. These ones, as others in others mc books, live having promiscuous sex with paid women who live in their compound and are available every hours of day and night to use as such. Well, I know this is most men’s forbidden dream but real life is not like these, I have friends in mc and their girlfriend bar wives would skin them alive if they dared have sex with ow in such a cavalier way. Whatever. This hero is almost decent compared to most of mc members. He is promiscuous until he meets the heroine then he is celibate and faithful. Of course there’s a lot of drama, he believes some false lies about her having an affair with her ex, and treats her as sh1t, in front of her lil daughter that is scared and cries, and this to me was worse, way worse than being promiscuous. The heroine doesn’t forgive him easily though and he stays celibate trying to win her back for two years, while the heroine keeps pushing him away, because she thinks he’s still with his ex wife, because the bitch said so. So I couldn’t really blame him when, after two years of rejections, he almost gets a bj from one of the hoes in the club, because well, they were not together anymore for two years and she kept telling him it was over, so this was him trying to move on. And this was also a writer who writes mc books being ashamed of herself because she was almost, almost, writing a hero who could be celibate because he was in love with a woman even if she wanted nothing to do with him! No, no, that won’t do, only women are celibate for decades in a mc fictional world, men never are or they lose their lil puny d1ck and whatever brain cell is in their brain, which is dramatic because there are so so few. Phew! The author felt better when he had his half bj, because she put the balance in order, and all is well now in mc world. They will come back together and there’s another final drama which was a bit too stretched , the heroine is kidnapped by evil ex ow and hoe who gave him bj, the hero gets beaten and loses his memory and rejects the heroine because who the hell is she. But thank god he’s still celibate, the author must have been quite not properly herself when she wrote this one, and eventually all is well and they’re together again. A bit of angst and a lot of drama but it was a light reading for summer holidays. The hero could be one of the less disgusting ones in mc books and in this authors especially, just not my kind of man. I can’t understand the appeal of such men they’re just the opposite of what I like in a man, they’re promiscuous, chauvinistic, they have anger issues and they’re no good with women and children. So nope. Not for me, ever. It anyway deserved two rate and not one as usually, so it’s improvement.
I have read quite a few books by this author, and I think because I wasn’t finding many other books that peaked my interest I overlooked a lot of issues.
But this one … I just couldn’t carry on.
All of the books in this series and the connected series skip and flip back so much I get whiplash.
I get there are interconnecting stories with dual POVs but my god the repetition. There much be a better way to show other perspectives, it reads like crime statements like actually every detail of everyone’s point of view.
Also what’s with all of the bikers mums being so involved, like I get it I love my mum, but she isn’t involved in that side of my life - it’s just weird. They all come across as weird mummy boys and it’s just not the one.
I like a little drama a bit of back and forth but the reasons for this one are just so stupid, people assuming stuff then not being worthy because they assumed stuff. Honestly makes me want to reach through the book and punch Liv in the boob and Smokey in the dick (or the member as it is disgustingly referred to for no reason in this book other than to haunt me).
I actually think a lot of these books have ok stories and with some changes they could be favourites, but they just come across as badly written gibberish - much like this review, so pot kettle huh.
But I had to rant so I can move on and put Smokey and this annoying book behind me.
I really like this author, but this book seemed to have many storylines intertwined and some threads were left hanging that will be resolved I'm guessing in future books, but I felt like I had missed reading those books and was a little lost on relationships and storylines.
Cheating = H got drunk and had a CW/OW give him a BJ in the hallway outside his room (h is sent a picture of it). H only stopped because his mother pulled CW off his junk and smashed her face into the ground. H, himself, admits to h that if his mom had not pulled CW off, he fully intended to continue on and have sex with CW (no mention of condoms)
Grovel = H said awful mean things to the h in front of h's daughter; cheats on h while mad as above; h on the other hand avoids H for YEARS as she doesn't feel as if she is good enough for H (insert eye roll). H apologizes for his words, was honest about his cheating (he admitted it readily not knowing the h already knew due to the picture), H stayed celibate during there several years long separation. h apologizes for keeping them separated
OW drama = H's ex wife and the above mentioned CW kidnap and almost unalive the h. The H comes in and then he is almost unalived by these chicks. h freed herself from being tied up and takes out the ex wife while the CW is taken out by the MC brothers who responded to H's SOS.
Storylines left open = Breaker's story, who sent the picture to h, Doc's story, etc.
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: second chance Angst: 😱😱😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Great stories, but I don't know if I can handle this much drama llama ding dong 😂😂. If you can handle cheating that's not "technically" cheating, these books are likely for you. Love all the characters and I may come back to the series at a later date, but my drama cup is full right now, lol. This book needs a serious edit, though. Lots of typos, missing words, etc. It didn't affect t my rating, but if that's something that bothers you, you may not want to dive in.
The time “jumps” were annoying. Just when I felt connected, there was a jump in the timeline - 3 months, 2 years, 6 months. Just stop!! Have the story continue organically. Additionally, please stop with the flashbacks inside those timeline hops. Annoying.
It made me think about the serie HEA on Wattpad. The groveling was quite good, and the various twist turns kept the story interesting. However, I won't read other books in this serie because these guys, seriously, were all f*ched up bastards, cheating on their girlfriends, not communicating and breacking their hearts but finding totally normal that the girls forgave them eventually. Let them suffer girls! 😈😈😈
This feels like it was hastily written and that the author kept forgetting the details about things.
The timelines of things don’t add up and aren’t mathematically correct. Easy to overlook for the story’s sake but it is glaringly obvious.
Pretty angsty story and an overall decent read.
The plot is all over the place and there’s always something dramatic and over the top popping up to tear the couple apart. This is riddled with plot holes though and has juvenile wattpad vibes.
🔸MC romance 🔸OW drama (tons but the MC is NOT a manwhore) 🔸Possessive alpha male (not over the top) 🔸Sweet yet stubborn FMC 🔸Slight breeding kink 🔸Memory loss 🔸LBGTQ positive read 🔸Angst x 10 🔸Single mom 🔸He falls first (but she’s right there with him and he’s all in and deeper into it)
🔴 Hated the yearly and monthly long gaps between them over dumb misunderstandings. Very drawn out and annoying. 🔴 The plot hole with the ex wife was stupid and a huge plot hole to common sense. 🔴 The miscarriage was unnecessary and only thrown in for a trauma factor that was mostly overlooked and not done well. 🔴 The “groveling” was crap. Then we’re made to believe the FMC is the actual one in the wrong. Just NOPE. 🔴 FMC is a shit mom. The plot point of her allowing him to become a step parent after only five months of dating (the baby girl is ONE) even after they breakup due to him publicly shaming her and scaring the shit out of the baby is ridiculous. The baby has a fantastic father already so the MC wasn’t needed. She allows this man to keep the little girl a few nights a week because the BABY wants him. They’re broken up for two years while he’s being daddy to this baby.
The writing isn’t well done but it’s great for the angst factor. This would have been astronomically better if there wasn’t a gazillion things thrown around constantly just for trauma. This is just kinda all over the place.
I’ll read the next in the series, hoping it’s fleshed out better, but I doubt I keep going if not. So far it seems like every couple follows the same plot points: Guy meets his ONE and does something very stupid to sabotage it either with miscommunication or because he was easily manipulated by another female, then he tries to get her back but the FMC is stubborn, then dark trauma, then HEA. Rinse and repeat.
We will see…
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for angst factor craving 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 should have had more in depth scenes.

This was a good book and I loved the drama but I found the H a bit gullible and h a little bit stubborn but when it all eventually came out I found the story perked up more. I loved the drama and the other characters and I'm looking forward to the rest of the stories because the characters have got me very intrigued and I love the MC theme to the series.

Wow this book takes you through the ringer. You have everything, heartbreak, danger, kidnapping, killing, OW drama, and much more. Definite page turner.
Smokey and Livy go back and forth. They both make mistakes that they must overcome. On top of the hurtful words spewed to people constantly hurting Livy. How she didn't get permanent damage other than a limp is beyond me, goodness.
Then you have that sweet little girl April and of course Phil which I hope we see more of his story.
I almost loved the book and that’s only because of the fine gentleman named above. Daddy 1 and Daddy 2. Olivia’s dumb ass almost made me hate it but I decided to just hate her instead.
Love this series Love the Devils mc Loved Smokey and Livvys intense emotional broken heartstopping insta love story Gripping All the feels Ready for Tats
Smokey married a woman who was pregnant but he hates her and is waiting for her to break their prenup when he meets Olivia and her daughter April. He knows instantly she is it for him and he does his best to win Olivia over. The problem is he ends up believing a lie and acts despicably before he realizes he has been played. Now Olivia wants nothing do with him, Smokey is determined to win Olivia back but she is stubborn to boot he has an uphill battle to win back his heart.
I liked this one but there were two things that did not make it a five for me. Cheating, even if they are broken up makes me nuts. The other is I felt Olivia dragged him through the coals with the grudge, I get it but it was a bit much for me. Otherwise great story, I think some of the MC ol ladies are a bit to judgy though.
I was disappointed in how this story was structured (ie; we get a snippet of a scene and the rest is told in a flashback), too much time passed and took away from any meaningful development between characters, classic tropes are used to push the plot rather than being threaded in in a way that is natural to characterization, which lends itself to the lack of character development and a focus on tons of other characters and their drama.
This author has written one of my favorite contemporary series, but the structure of this book felt like an entirely different author.
DNF. This is sooooooooooo bad. And it’s not just the editing which seems to be getting worse with each book.
Her story lines are all the same the rinse and repeat.
The relationships are so dysfunctional and that’s not even between hero and heroine. The parental units, OW, sweet butts, “brothers”, it’s all so bad and childish.
I just can’t anymore. I’m not prepared to lose my brain cells.
I don't mean to be the bad guy here, or bad gal, but are all these characters sharing only one brain cell? I decided to continue with this series, but everything is OTT unbelievable because of how dumb everyone is. Also, the timeline makes zero sense. I'm confused.
MC romance, second chance, OW drama. This story follows Jonny (Smokey) and Olivia. He’s fresh off a divorce after being stuck in a horrible marriage and she’s a single mom. They meet in a bakery, she has her daughter with her, and he immediately becomes smitten with them both.
They’re dating for a few months and things are going well until his ex comes back bringing a picture of the FMC hugging her best friend/baby daddy and the MMC believes she’s cheating on him. The FMC shows up at the clubhouse with her daughter and he basically tells her she’s not welcome and calls her names, his mom threatens her and her daughter gets really scared and the FMC basically goes into momma bear mode. When the MMC realizes he was wrong about everything he sets to grovel.
Two years later, the FMC hasn’t taken him back but does allow her daughter in his life. He hasn’t been with anyone waiting for the FMC to come back to him but she has been dating a guy to make the MMC jealous. That guy turns out to be a really bad man.
The FMC finally gives in, saying the reason she didn’t give in sooner was because she feels she didn’t deserve him after making him suffer for so long, and there’s a ton of drama that follows. The MMCs ex teams up with a former club whore to kidnap the FMC, when the MMC finds them, he ends up hurt and as a result of his injury loses his memory. The weeks that follow are hard on the FMC and the MMC does and says some things to hurt her which he later says was because he knows being around him was hard so he purposefully did this to push her away.
This book was just okay. The drama was good. I didn’t connect to the characters really. The FMC making herself a martyr, not forgiving the MMC soon enough because she thought he deserved better, so the only logical thing is to let it drag out as long as possible because that’s smart.
There’s miscommunication. No one talks to anyone. There was also some big spoilers for future books provided which I’m not sure why the author did that. I don’t remember her doing this in her earlier books. The book had drama and some angst but it was also very repetitive and chaotic. I recommend it but know you can get through it very quickly by speed reading and skimming and you won’t miss out.

140% a Fucking Cheater, An Emotionally Abusive One Too, Poor April, But Patriarchial Pick Mes Win As Always Because Maybe Their Husbands Dipped Out On Them Too
What a toddler Olivia is, still in the playground, waiting to be picked.
"Gosh darn its ok that you pretended to be emotionally invested in me and my daughter, then put your dick inside another womans mouth, well see, we didn't say Simon Says so you technically didn't do that."
How scary that he can do that after such a time of invested.
Just slipping it inside Cherrie as soon as he has an excuse too.
What a toxic toddler.
And yet again the Neoliberals Fascist and Neoconservative Nazis women allow him to cheat and just get away with it.
He's literally nuanced about it until the end.
Never has to take emotional responsibility for sticking his hard dick in Cherrie's mouth and having to be stopped by his mother.
Thats toxic as fuck.
But I understand this is what unseen people talk about.
How its a two way street when he slips into another persons orifaces.
As soon as he gets hard with cherrie and not Freckles present, hes cheated.
Hes not got deep feelings for Freckles
Men aren't addicted to sex.
Can't be addicted to a mutual exchange that is always different every time.
Well, unless you are like the Unseen, Unloved and utterly Unfucked women of America, who keep voting in that sad, fat ugly genociders with his crusty skin and his crusted, raping dick.
But this is the Russell Brand and Andrew Tate era of rapist and choice feminists helping them.
But this last year has taught me alot about how I can't relate to hypermasculine people as they nuance the toxic biys and the bomb Gaza.
He fucked Cherrie.
He cheated.
You are a Pathetic Pick Me if you think someone can be emotionally invested in a person and the summon, maintain and sustain to orgasm, an erection inside someone else, no matter how gay you are and enjoying having sex with your friends.
Reading him pretend he doesn't enjoy brushing his mates dick when they're sharing the same hole.
But don't worry.
We'll be here for you when you are done letting men rape and cheat on you.
Really sad.
Has the emotional depth of a toenail.
April will walk in on him getting head in the future, and it won't be her mother.

Review: I love this FMC. She stands on business. She was done with the MMC and she stood on that for years. The MMC had to watch her live her life without him. I did like how the daughter was allowed to stay in contact with the MMC. I loved the relationship between them and also the MMC relationship with the baby daddy.
I am growing more familiar with the authors writing style and can see why she is a fan favorite.

Another great read of course but I’m starting to notice that a lot of these MC books the female doesn’t know how to communicate lol neither does the man but like this one all Olivia had to do was talk to the man instead of believing a woman that she doesn’t even know, that kinda irritated me because I’m thinking if it was me in her shoes I’m confronting the guy I’m seeing. Then it’s like when the females mess up or do something I feel like deserves some chasing too in a couple chapters. It’s kinda swept under the rug and the Fl is easy to say “well I did this because you did ABC” to kinda justify their actions. Even though I completely understand where they are coming from in these books it’s a little annoying but it still doesn’t stop me from reading. I love all of Charlotte’s MC books but I guess I kinda want something different now I’m not taking the man side when they mess up bad I completely understand that heartbreak and hurt but sometimes I want the women to be WOMEN and confront the man, acknowledge their mistakes also without throwing what the man did in their face right free admiring their faults, to communicate talk like adults and not just assume or think they know what’s best. But I still love it and will continue to read more.
I love this author. The last series had me hooked. But this was terrible. SPOILERS
first. Your mom doesn’t like your girl, treats her like dirt and brings in your cheating ex and then realizes her mistake and all is forgotten immediately
Second: how about a new story line? This feels incredibly similar to the last series.
Third: FMC knew that MMC had a miscommunication and was given false information. So instead of talking to her, he humiliated her. So now Hs ex (same girl who lied to H about h) is telling h all these things and h automatically believes her and doesn’t talk to H about it. It’s so incredibly immature.
Fourth: why are we constantly retelling old stories/telling other members stories before their book is out. I understand creating excitement, but I also want to wait to know what happens until I get to the story
Six: the nurse and some of the dialogue from the catty girls. Did the author just give up trying on this?
Seven: I’m strongly convinced this is a Wattpad story.
What to Expect: ••» Motorcycle Club ••» OW/OM Drama ••» Single Mom
While the concept of this book was definitely intriguing, there was just a lot happening. So much unfolded for the main characters that I actually found myself saying, “Okay, really?!” at one point. The timelines were a bit messy, with flashbacks popping up all over the place, making it hard to follow. Between the constant time jumps and the parade of side characters who didn’t really contribute to the plot, it started to feel more confusing than captivating.
The clubhouse could use a serious internal overhaul because, for all the toughness these guys project, they sure let a lot of people—especially the club girls—interfere and manipulate things. It ends up making the MC feel way too easily swayed, which doesn’t exactly scream "strong and in control."
This book could definitely use an editor. It feels like it was written in a rush, with the author occasionally forgetting key details along the way. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity to really shine, but it was still a decent read.
Where to begin? The fmc got pregnant at 18 but when she meets the mmc at 22 her daughter is 1 yr old. Was she pregnant for 3 yrs? How can everyone tell her to forgive him after what he and his mother said to her in front and about her daughter? Even the people closest to her tell her to give him a chance. Then he has the temerity to get upset with her when she takes years to forgive him. Also the lack of communication on her part after what she went through was just baffling. Isn’t that why they broke up in the first place? Why does she do it to herself? Why do they sound English when they are based in America? The other brothers see all these mistakes being made yet they all seem to make the same mistakes in some form or other. They even keep the women who are causing trouble around. They ‘claim’ a woman just because she says she’s pregnant with his baby. Even when she conveniently has a miscarriage afterwards they still stay with them even though they don’t like them! Grrr 😖. The editing was also pretty bad. I really love her standalone novels where the mmc’s are so much better and smarter. I hope her next mc series have better conflict resolutions.
I’ve read other books by this author before and I liked them all and that’s why I keep coming back.
But goodness gracious this may be the worst edited book. Typos and detail inconsistencies abound in just the first five chapters. I couldn’t stand it anymore so I quit.
The main detail that threw me off was the age of the baby. 22-year old Olivia is on record in the book as saying the baby just turned ONE, but she got pregnant at EIGHTEEN, which means her baby should’ve been THREE when Olivia was 22.
WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!
And it doesn’t make sense that Smokey believes his rotten ex-wife over the woman he claims as his ONE.🙄
Yeah the first part was messy and i couldn’t get over it because it was never THIS messy with her other books. So yeah DNF’ed this book but I’ll still read other books by the author.
