Teaching Kids the Importance of Sleep * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * At night when most kids were dozing so deep, Michael could never quite manage to sleep. His mother would read him one book, or two, His father would sing ‘till his face turned blue, All day Michael ran and played and kicked ball, But then he’d just shrug: “I’m not tired at all.”
Great story and a help for parents who have a problem when it is time for kids to sleep and they don't want to. The author uses rhyming text which makes the story more fun. This is a great book for kids to read alone, because the rhyming words make the story sing like a song. It is also great to read aloud at bedtime and teaches kids a moral of life and why sleep is important. Sigal Adler always teaches great things with the fun books and they are a must have for Parents and Grandparents.

I chose a three star rating because this book has potential. It could be better. Overall it still great. It teaches children great lessons throughout this book. It has cut pictures also. I liked how the character reminded me of how actual children are. They really don't want to go to bed. I enjoy how he went to a far away land to learn a harsh lesson, but enjoy the fact that it was he who put the pieces together to figure out how to return home also. As I said overall good book. Just in my opinion I think it could have been a bit better.
I received this ebook for free from Amazon in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I Don't Want To Sleep by Sigal Adler. This book is wonderful for the bedtime days when kids refuse to sleep. It is funny and full of choices. Sigal Adler has yet to disappoint me with one of her stories! I LOVE THIS story..!! I would read this book to my little girls every night..!! Hopefully it would make them have second thoughts about obeying me when I ask the 1st time.. ;•)
What a wonderful book to read for a stubborn child of mine who wants to just laze around and not fall asleep. I loved the story and how beautifully it was written by the author Sigal. My son loves it each time I read it to him
Younger children are apt to not want to go to bed and settle down after a fun and active day. The little boy at the heart of the story is just the same. His parents both try to help him sleep, Mom reading stories and Dad singing. But the boy just resists. His parents tell him of a place called No-Sleep Land, a place where children go if they say three times in a row, “I don't want to sleep.” So the boy does this, of course, and a gnome shows up to take him to this land. He enjoys it at first, but then he realizes his new friends who have been there for longer look really tired. They decide to try chanting “I do want to sleep” to see if it will return them home. The boy finds himself back in his room with his father wishing him a good night’s sleep. I think this is a fun book that could actually be a great bedtime story to encourage sleep. It shows how you can have too much fun, get exhausted, and feel bad if you don't get adequate rest. But it shows this in the context of a story, which could make it go down easier. It could also certainly be used as a way into a discussion about why a child doesn't want to sleep or what it is they want to do instead. A good book if you have a child who resists bedtime.
I don't want to sleep by sigal Adler Is a realatible story with a good lesson I didn't like the lay out of story that much but that could be cause it got a little scrunched up because of it being a digital version
I do wish that the gnome would have got angry so that you get to see a little bit more of a risk instead of just him noticing the other kids tired and having this false threat of the gnome just problem was resolved a bit to soon
My daughter who is 7 years always fight about bedtime. I'm not tired etc... However, While I was reading your book I Don't Want To Sleep, surprisingly my daughter fell fast asleep with no problem at all in the middle of the book where the kids where getting tired and crying because they wanted to lay down. Love you book and my daughter did too. Outstanding job.
Lovely books for the children, I've read only one so far and it's quite interested and I'm an adult or a mom rather... I would love see my son read this when he's old enough to do so but for now I've found some thing to keep both of us growing in our thoughts as we discovered these amazing stories.
Because this is an amazing book Even as an adult these stories and there titles interested me I would more than recommend these store even at story time at church
This is a nice rhyming bedtime story about a child that doesn't want to go to sleep. Spoiler alert: if you won't sleep you will be tired. There is a gnome that makes threats and I was expecting some interesting action related to that but it just fizzles out and nothing comes of it. The child's father has a distracting look in the illustrations, as his beard and hair are a different color, and I was wondering which one he dyes.
I brought the book so my six year granddaughter and I could read it together. Especially, because she say these same words every night. She could relate and enjoyed the story, which she read to me. However, at the end she said he should have taken his tablet. Great book!!
Kids hate going to sleep. Why is that? What do they think they'll miss by sleeping. This cute and colorful book talks about why you need sleep. It is okay to be bored every now and then. Your body needs sleep to refuel and energize. Read he book with your kids and have a talk about the importance of sleep.
My 5 year old enjoyed this book. A boy doesn't want to sleep so he's transported to a magical land where kids don't have to sleep. After a while everyone is tired and wants to sleep. The art is rather generic but it's not bad for free if you have kindle unlimited (better than most of those).
I bought this on Kindle for my kid to have enjoyable reading practice. She really enjoyed it: the rhyme is fun, the pictures are engaging, it has a satisfying resolution and lesson-learned good ending. It also would be perfect for reading to younger ones.
Enjoyed reading this to my little one. She laughed and giggled throughout. It’s a great quick read before bedtime and actually fun to read as the adult. Great job!
This is every child's wish. We don't realize how wise our parents were until we become parents ourselves --- when we learn how precious sleep really is! Mrs. Ken Blackmer
Super cute and with adorable illustrations, this is a good book to read to little ones at bed time. My girls (2&6) both enjoyed the story and loved looking at the pictures. I say this was a good find. I will have to check put the other books this author has written.
A couple of pages repeat on the kindle version, but other than that it's a great story. I love the idea of a 'never-sleep land', lends a unique twist and it's not just a simple re-telling of the same old bedtime storys. Recommend! My 7 year old enjoyed it, as did I!
I really enjoyed this little story and I didn’t realize it was the same author as I only have 3 hands. The rhyming was on point and had a nice pace. My child fell asleep before the book ended. Hopefully she stays awake next time and learns the lesson.
This is an adorable book about a little boy who does not want to go to sleep and how his parents teach him a lesson on the importance of sleep. The rhyme scheme is very good, and the illustrations are very colorful and cute.
