When a series of gruesome murders begin to plague a small town high school, a teenager must use her connection to the town’s dark past to find the killer in this teenage slasher.
It’s been ten years since a film crew mysteriously disappeared while on set at the infamous Brock Manor. The one survivor killed himself a year ago. His sister, Remington “Remy” Carpenter is still haunted by her chilling connection to the tragedy.
Right before the anniversary of the disappearances, a meme starts to go around town-people reposting and sharing their favorite scary movie. Then one by one, students in her small town high school begin dying violent deaths-each one an exact reenactment of a kill in their favorite scary movie. As the terror grows closer, Remy will have to face the town’s dark past. Can Remy find the killer before more people die? Or will Remy be forced to play a part in her own scary movie?
A meme was posted, a question asked, and people are being killed by the way of their fav scary movie. This was a book club choice, and it surprised me by how much I liked it. It was cheesy but soooo good.
Ok, I'm giving this a 5 because as a horror fan it involved murders from some of my favorite films and even similia dialogue from Scream, Halloween, Psycho and one of my wife and I's favorites, Urban Legend. It's a quick read that is easy to get through and a fun walk down Horror-Lane.
For real!? I didn’t want this to end! 😩 a good weekend slasher read (even though I read it during the week) I absolutely loved it, but I also love a good who-done-it slasher.
I’m not sure how the author got away with basically using scenes from the movie urban legends. This book was so predictable because I’ve seen the movie. Some of the scenes are word for word.
I really enjoyed this read, even though I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this book. It’s a classic slasher with a twist for slasher fans. I enjoyed most of the story and liked the alternating perspectives for every one of the killings. I liked the ending, but felt like there were still a few things left unanswered. The writing style was slightly clunky at times and took some getting used to, but overall a great read and I would definitely recommend.
It was fun and good for spooky season! I wish there was a little more to the ending and with happened to her brother but overall it kept me entertained.
This took me forever to finish but I guess half the plot twist at the end. I barely remember what happened in this book and I finished it 4 seconds ago.
