The Residency Boys #5

Collin: Episodes 13-15

Rate this book
Mr. Reevesworth leaned down, kissing his forehead. “I have you, Collin. Every humiliation, every submission, every surrender I ask of you means you are mine. You are safe. You are wanted. You are treasured.”

Collin shuddered. He raised his head meeting his Master’s eyes. “I feel that there’s no going back, sir.”

“There’s no going back from every moment of our lives. There is only rebirth.”

Kneeling under the care of his Master and his Sir, Collin is beginning to thrive in his new world. The trust and communication they have built is opening new opportunities. But the greed of others is coming to feed.

This time, their enemies are not content with threats and shows of intimidation. And more than just a business, a lawsuit, or an inheritance is on the line.

When the ultimate test comes, it will require every scrap of Collin’s submission, every ounce of Richard’s dominance, and every instance of Émeric’s care to overcome. Can they pass the poisoned choice and come out whole?

This series is a modern MMM+ BDSM billionaire romance. Intended for mature audiences only. If you like your romance kinky and spicy, then this story is for you. See inside for additional tags and tw’s.

Ciara Darren is a contemporary romance author writing primarily MM+, but also MX, MF, and FF. Her stories are intense, slow burn serials with chosen family, high heat, power exchange, kink, and diverse representation.

The best place to start in her contemporary romances is Collin: Episodes 1-3, for a gentler introduction to polyamory and kink. Damian & Jun is a sequel serial that can be read on its own but is best after Collin: Episodes 13-15.

For darker work in the same line, look for Sanctum: Prior Claim, coming out Spring 2026, a second-chance romance about escaping the criminal underworld and surviving to thrive. This is a stand alone tie-in serial to The Residency Boys universe and contains spoilers for both the Collin and Damian & Jun serials.

4.75* for an epic and swoony ending to Collin's arc.

If anyone told me last year that I would fall in love with a fictional household full of kinky men and their mutual unconditional love, I would not believe it. And yet here I am. I actually do not want to part with Collin and his doms.

The fifth book is the longest and the most action packed of all. There is lots of detailed BDSM scenes and romantic or spicy moments. And the overarching development is so satisfying to watch. From being obsessed only with Richard, Collin found his way to the rest of the men in the household and formed unique bonds with each. He also grew as an employee and the man of the Ryker family.

There is also a much more pronounced suspenseful plot that climaxes here and you cannot help but feel scared for the men and how they deal with the aftermath of what happened. Did I think that the suspenseful plot could've been more pronounced in the previous book? Yes. But I was primarily interested in Collin's growth so it was not such a deal breaker.

The last scene was so calm, and full of tenderness. And I was so so happy to see a bit more pet play in this one too. This book also made me fall in love with Damian (I had quite a rocky "relationship" with him - from finding him annoying to really appreciating him being Collin's kink brother) so I will be on the lookout for the next arc of the Residency Boys.

I'd like to thank the author for the ARC but more importantly for creating such a kinky series full of love, discipline, tenderness, consent and overall hurt/comfort journey for Collin. I absolutely loved it and I will be returning to Collin's arc in the future... I do not think I am ready to part with Collin, Richard and Émeric so soon.

I am really sad to say Good bye to this series but here we are at the end of Collin’s ARC.
This is a special story that leaves behind a lingering warm feeling of satisfaction and accomplished goals. Because for Collin it was a learning curve and incredible personal growth and for me - it was the pleasure to follow his steps in all the stories that led to a thrilling finale. This is also a story with intense emotional charge about the family you choose and they choose you; where loyalty, respect, care and love aren't empty words. And when the past comes crashing, unexpected and unwanted, in Collin’s life and in the lives of the people, he loves so deeply and unconditionally, it is a test for strength, resilience and above everything else - Trust! Because when you fall, is the time when you learn, if you have put your Trust in the right hands. Beautifully written conclusion of a book about love with a dash of kink and a journey of self discovery.
Thank you, Ciara Darren
for the wonderful chance to get to know Collin and the amazing men who changed his life and made it full with love, acceptance and care; the men who banished the loneliness and helped him heal while giving him the gift to experiment, grow and embrace the submissive part of himself.

Good book to learn about the dynamics of D/s relationships and poly relationship structures and practices.
In this last book of the series, the underlying background story of Collin's history comes to a big crescendo and I found it didn't help the book, but distracted from it. I found that the initial background of Collin being so short of money that he had to work 2 jobs just to eat made no sense considering his Mother was a professor, and his sister appeared to have enough money to spend on loads of eccentric clothing and hair dos and his mother easily found money to travel. This was an inconsistency that irked me somewhat.
The whole book series was in need of editing. The typos, missing words, wrong words (look similar but are not the word needed) and even inconsistency in the spelling of names was not a happy thing to contend with for me as a reader.

I very much enjoyed this series. Yes, it is fun and sexy and has a varied palette of characters but it's Collin's experiences as a sub that made it different. Collin's new to the D/s dynamic and as he explores throughout the series, we are there with him. It gave me an intimate view of what one person might gain from such a relationship - the peace, freedom, a bone-deep feeling of being loved and desired - even in situations where you'd be forgiven for thinking that was unlikely.

Something to reread.

Note to self. Do not buy an entire series unless it's from a well-loved, long-term, favorite author.

This was horrible.

On top of the absolute lack of editing or even, you know, a cursory re-read, that was part and parcel of the series, this went completely off the rails and devolved into some sort of ... badly written action adventure. Yes, there was some foreshadowing about the grandfather, but WTF? I started skimming because I paid a ridiculous amount of money for this, and I felt like I had to read it, but I really didn't want to keep reading it.

Please don't waste either your time or your money. This author is definitely going on the nope list.

The plot and the relationship building of this whole series is so interesting but good God does Darren get in her own way with the wretchedness of writing and the sheer amount of plot inconsistencies.

As the culmination of Collin's arc, these episodes do quite a bit with plot--but unfortunately, much of that plot feels like a bad Rocky and Bullwinkle episode. The villain is cartoonish (pointing out that a bad accent is "more fun" doesn't help me as the reader forget that it's bad) and that undercuts the careful ways Darren sets up the characters for danger. I love the standoffs along the way and holy smokes can we all take a minute to bow at the feet of queen Alice, but I never fully believed in the intensity of Collin's opponent.

The developing relationships are great and the careful insertions of Damien growing into himself set up the next series arc without leaving a gasping cliffhanger, which I appreciate. This is a lovely read that pulls forward solid notes on the development of Alice, Ash, Emeric, and certainly Collin himself, and gosh do I want my own Mr. Reevesworth. But the plot conflict fell a bit flat for me because I can't get over how convoluted and ridiculous the main villain was (nor can I wrap my head around how much energy and money it would have cost for the business villain to get into this. There are so many other ways he could have gone after the rail project; this series 0f villainy was so artificial I couldn't suspend my disbelief for it). Still quite pleased with the series and looking forward to where it goes next.
