I had to re read part pf the book because I thought my brain was short circuiting but it it didn’t makes sense.. which is bad if I notice because I’m a vibe reader (ya know if it made me giggle laugh blush and kick my legs I’m giving it at least four stars ) BUT this book just pissed me off.
Beatrice is annoying. One min she’s hot one min she’s cold. Can’t make up her mind. And the fact that she simply could have just communicated the situation you know like a functioning adult this whole shit would have been avoided. But no. She’s too busy worrying about what people think. Like girl shut up already.
I wouldn’t classify this as dark romance at all as marketed. Just plain ole mafia romance

This one was an enjoyable read that kept my interest, but it was frustrating at times, and the ending felt too abrupt and wasn't satisfying.
A lot of the problems were caused by the FMC not telling the Ivanovs what was going on, and I felt like her reasoning for that never really made sense.
The MMC was a total asshole to the FMC a few times, and it was never really addressed. I would have liked to see her call him out on it or even have gotten something from his POV explaining his reasoning or expressing remorse for hurting her. Several times, he outright said or let her believe he was sleeping with other women. That was never addressed until the last page of the book when he made a vague comment about her being his only woman, and we don't even get a response from the FMC.
But the narrative style was good, and most of the spicy scenes were done really well. They were descriptive and varied. I'll probably read the next one when it comes out.

Another new to me author, and the book was so good. I'm thrilled with this story and could hardly put it down. Everything is nearly perfect. The chemistry between Alek and Bee, the suspense, emotions, smut, and plot—all in all, an absolute highlight. Unfortunately, the second book, "Kiss of Malice," isn't available. There's no email address for the author either. The third book is supposed to be out in February, but it's listed as the fourth book. That's very confusing. It's a shame; I'd love to read more books in the series.

My 1st & last read by Ms St. James . . . Sorry.
It's pretty bad. It's NOT a dark romance. I actually liked the FMC ( Beatrice) but her story was all over the place 😖. Like one time she went back to her place for clothes with 2 armed men but snuck out & went to an interview (??).
The MMC likes/loves her but treats her like something he scrapped off his shoe! And all the nicknames he has for her!! Give me a break!
Would definitely NOT recommend 🇮🇪💚

Absolutely awesome mafia read, the characters are all amazing, the undeniable chemistry between Alek & Bee is off the charts. The twists and turns, the spice, the mafia shootouts, everything is on point- making this a brilliant read. I love that this has a HEA but also the story can be followed on. Another new author I’m happy to have stumbled across on a SYK -stuff your kindle day! Loved this read!!

Amazing from start to finish. The very well written characters draw you into their world. Didn't want to put it down. Honestly didn't want it to finish either. Maybe I'm A bit picky, but it would have been nice to have a bit more with the killing scenes, maybe more with torture and such, but overall I really enjoyed it. It's hard sometimes to get into mafia romances if they aren't done well, and this one was most definitely done well. Can't wait till book 2 comes out.

I'm a little upset that the next book is not available on KU. I really enjoyed this book. The MMC was an ass at the beginning, and then I realized it was because of his true feelings for her. Their chemistry was great. I really enjoyed the storyline and am disappointed to wait for the next book

Jeeeezus christ. All the characters are so goddamn annoying. Nobody knows what they want, it's all hot and cold. Up and down.

The characters' chemistry was excellent, but the plot didn't allow us to see them develop any kind of relationship that resembles normalcy.
