While there are probably many books about the craft of fiction writing, I can’t imagine if there are many as comprehensive as this one. This guide covers it all - from developing characters and settings, to plotting an engrossing narrative, to the practical aspects of editing and publishing. The chapters deconstructing critical elements like generating suspense, crafting pivotal scenes, establishing viewpoints, and avoiding narrative pitfalls are particularly valuable for anyone interested in creative writing. Yet it doesn't just focus on the creative side, also providing real-world advice on publishing essentials like formatting, design, copyright, and marketing.
What sets this book apart is the LornaMarie’s grasp of the elements that transform an idea into a page-turner, demonstrated through well-chosen examples from classic mysteries and thrillers. Her own personal anecdotes make this a more authentic read. I am happy to say that this seems like an extensive resource that could lend the tools for writers to craft captivating stories ❤️
