Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.

As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

Finally Punk Hazard reach the end. Luffy defeat Caesar Clown and the others free the children. With the destruction of Punk Hazard, Joker alias Donquixote Doflamingo make his move and send his subordinate to clean the problem. But it isn't easy. Trafalgar Law already predict and 'blackmail' him back. Of course, this is not the end but the new story mostly involved Trafalgar Law with his past. We know Vergo is Doflamingo's right hand. Straw Hat Pirates's next destination is Dressrosa to bring down the ex-shichibukai. So exciting!!!

Of all the villains in One Piece, only Blackbeard and Sakazuki can match Donquixote Doflamingo in sheer longevity.

A steady fixture in the background of the setting, by this volume we've had him around for over a decade. He's been popping up from time to time to do something terrible or to comment on where the world is headed. Establishing himself as someone to be wary about, a terror in the underworld that everybody fears, and so should we. Never taking the stage in the plot itself, never caring about what those upstart main characters have been up to. Until now.

By this time I had a hard time even thinking of him as an actual antagonist to be fought, and seeing him finally enter the fray was extremely exciting; realizing he was chasing the Straw Hats, thrilling and tense; seeing Trafalgar Law put him in a spot and actually piss him off, equal parts awesome and foreboding; to say nothing of poor Smoker getting his ass kicked again. That guy just can't catch a break.

But speaking of which, it was good to see Kuzan again. He'd been in a bad place last we'd heard of him, and he got a pretty good moment here - just the send-off needed for someone about to get out of the map for a long while.

With the arc now finished, we can set up other things for the future, too. We finally see the true goal to Luffy and Law's alliance - along with some great bit of bravado from Luffy. Never change.

Doflamingo is all very well, but farther away in the shadowy horizon, whole two out of the Four Emperors are coming. We're in the New World now, setting up the new era. The Emperor Saga has begun.

This was just epic as the others band together and take down Caesar in an epic fight when he merges with the poisonous cloud and Luffy using Haki was awesome and there are great scenes when Doflamingo's men Baby 5 and Buffalo come to rescue him, Franky fights with them in a mecha and its awesome the way its done and then another great scene with them capturing them, Marines and Pirates partying and then enter Doflamingo who wants Caesar at any costs and he will go to great lengths to get him, there are some interesting fights, revelations and actions that puts this new world into array! Great volume and one of the best of One piece that sets the stage rolling for even greater things to come, Oda Sensei on another level with this arc! The art is god tier!

2025 reread : Law and Kid on the cover together? Must be my birthday **
The end of Punk Harzard is as great as the rest of the arc. It's great to see how Luffy can relie on his crew to back him up, the trust between all the strawhats makes my heart squeeze. It's also interesting to see the interactions between the G5 and the pirates, lots of fun. It also show that the marine is full of shit because the marines of the G5 are not as indoctrinated as most marines and they like the strawhats very much.
The explanation about emperors, territories in the new world and the black market is a good set up for the next few arcs. And I love to see Law fall in with the strawhats and not being able to resist joining their nonsense. The man is doomed, and I love to see it.

I love seeing the crew hanging out with Smoker and his soldiers. !It's nice to see their relationship evolve this way.
We're arriving at Dressrosa and Trafalgar's plan is a bit more clear. So many things are happening though. I know what's coming and it still seems impossible from here ^^

Doflamingo is such an iconic character in this series. It's hard not to smile whenever you get to see what he's up to.

Punk Hazard started well, dragged in the middle when things got too complex/convoluted but has ended on a strong note. It was thrilling to see Caesar fall (pun intended) and the assorted Straw Hats, Marines and Caesar's test subjects finally managing to escape and recuperate, only for Oda Sensei to almost immediately set up the next arc/conflict. Doflamingo has been built up over time so it’s really exciting to finally have him be the main antagonist for the new arc. We already have seen what he’s capable of but him taking down Smoker (NOOO!) and surviving Aokiji/Kuzan was neat so doubtlessly the fights between him and Luffy + Law will be something to see. It’ll be especially interesting considering how Law’s blackmailing of Doflamingo has already pissed off Doflamingo and thrown the entire world order out of wack.

As always the Straw Hats and supporting cast had a number of great moments that added up to my enjoyment of Volume 70. I did lol at Usopp and Nami owning how brave they are in a long distance fight when stopping Doflamingo's crew members. I loved how Nami became a fan of Tashigi because of Tashigi’s treatment of the giant kids and how that reminded Nami of her mom Bellemere (DAWWWW). Another DAAWWWW moment is the kids and the Marines (sans Smoker) being upset but grateful for the Straw Hats as both groups part ways. As trashy as the World Government/the higher ups are, I like how Oda Sensei shows that individual groups of Marines have the capability of being good people/allies. Last bit of note, Momonosuke is a lucky little sh*t (IYKYK).

Ultimately I think the volume ended on a high note and maybe even salvaged a mediocre middle act of Punk Hazard. Dressrosa is set up in a good fashion and I hope the upward momentum continues.

Doflamingo is the best written villain so far. I hate him so much, I feel like puking when I see his silly pink feather coat and still I m also like „ Slay“ every time he shows up. I love to hate the guy.
Plus he is one of those villains were I actually have no clue how Luffy is gonna beat him. He seems so powerful and scary. But I know our rubber boy got this!

One Piece, Vol. 70 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (691–700) of the on-going manga series.

This tankōbon concludes the Punk Hazard Arc. Shinokuni enters the facility, and Caesar Clown merges with it. Monkey D. Luffy then rushes at him and prepares to attack, whom he eventually defeats and Baby 5 and Buffalo arrive to retrieve him.

Franky attacks Baby 5 and Buffalo with the Franky Shogun, while Caesar prepares to stab Smoker's heart. Monet receives orders from Doflamingo to activate a weapon which will kill everyone except Caesar, including her. However, the heart Caesar stabs is actually Monet's, preventing her from destroying the island.

As the Straw Hats and Marines escape the facility, Doflamingo decides to go to Punk Hazard himself. The Straw Hats and Marines escape the facility, and Baby 5 and Buffalo attempt to retreat with Caesar. However, they are defeated by Usopp and Nami.

Meanwhile, Kin'emon is revealed to be alive as the Straw Hats and Marines have a party and get ready to leave. Trafalgar Law reveals that he and Luffy intend to take down Kaido. The Straw Hats and the Marines part ways as more of Law's plans are revealed. Law contacts Doflamingo, stating Doflamingo had to quit the Shichibukai if he wanted to regain Caesar and avoid Kaido's wrath.

Law reveals the plan to weaken Kaido by destroying the SMILE Factory on Dressrosa, and Kin'emon wants to rescue a comrade there. Doflamingo arrives at Punk Hazard and easily defeats Smoker, but is stopped from killing him by Kuzan.

This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Eiichirō Oda. For the most part it is written and constructed rather well. It concludes the Punk Hazard Arc which covers forty-six chapters over five tankōbon. It is revealed that Trafalgar D. Water Law and Buggy the Star Clown have become part of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Kin'emon and Kozuki Momonosuke – the samurai are introduced and the Heart Pirates have been become allies.

All in all, One Piece, Vol. 70 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

PUNK HAZARD ARC - FINAL PART
1. god, i love seeing evil people get destroyed by luffy. it's like i can hear the winning music playing for ippo

2. oh my god. traffy taking monet's heart and giving it to caesar, pretending it's captain smoker's. LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MY SMART HUBBBBYYYY

3. no matter how much danger looms, it is always party time after an evil guy is bested! even if traffy is in hurry...and what's funny is that even the navy - once you meet the strawhats, you can't help but love them, which contradicts so hard with what their purpose is in the navy hahah

4. aokiji to the rescue for smoker!! heheheh, his hair also grew long - i also wonder what exactly he is doing right now, what mission and plan he's got working

5. robin is MOTHERRRRRRRR

6. BUGGY MADE WARLORD?

7. what's the rocky port incident?

8. HOW DOES DOFLAMINGO HAVE THE FLAME-FLAME FRUIT OF ACE'S? WHEN PEOPLE DIE - DOES A NEW DEVIL FRUIT GROW WITH THE SAME POWER?

Doflamingo is going to be a great villain. It's his manner accompanying the way he operates all backed up by power and might. It's hard to measure 'power levels' in terms of strength for One Piece (berries are close but never really scratch the itch). Doflamingo has always been threatening. He'll be as tough a fight as the Cheetah guy was for Luffy and the impacts of the fight will be as reverberating as defeating Crocodile.

Very solid volume! A lot less fighting and also a lot more of an explanation of things to come. Wrap up of Punk Hazard and it was a great wrap up! It definitely was focused on setting up some larger scaled things that we are now building towards. I am really excited to see where things go with Doflamingo and Kaido.

Punk Hazard was really great setup.
Other than that, unfortunately the best part about the arc was it's beginning imo, which was sooooo cool!
Still worlds ahead of Fish-Man Island haha

The conclusion of the Punk Hazard Arc. Straw Hat pirates defeated Caeser Clown and Doffy's allies with ease but in the most exciting way; Law's plan worked and Doffy is gonna be the next big bad.
This Arc was a lot of fun, can't be more excited to go to Dressrosa.

Usopps’s speech about Luffy 🥺

“Did you just say what I think you said?! You dare to slander my own captain to my face?! Sure, if he was the type to betray us things might’ve been easier!! We might want to tuck our tails between our legs and run, but he never ever fails to believe in our strength as a group, until it breaks our own backs!! Which means we step up and meet his hopes for as long as our lives hold out!!!”

When the crew reunites with the kids, Luffy is so proud. “Hee hee hee! See Momo?”

“Don’t worry about the kids. My crew’s already on the way to save them!! And when they say they’ll do something, they do it!! Don’t worry about it!!”

Punk Hazard

I like the idea of the island and everything this arc sets up, but the arc itself is not one of my favorites.
Caesar Clown is a joke of a villain and the structure was just a bit weird idk.
It manages to set up one piece’s biggest saga yet and excites you for the islands to come.
Usopp also has a nice moment and I love Law becoming a more important character.

The one piece is real.
