Second Chances with lots of emotion. Charlie returns to her hometown for a new job. But also the boy who broke her heart. Wyatt still loves Charlie, and this is their journey back to each other. We are also introduced to many side characters, the makings of a fun new series.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This is a beautiful second chance romance that takes you on an emotional journey when Charlie returns to her hometown the place where the boy the broke her heart works and lives. Wyatt has always loved Charlie and he would do anything for her. He is so protective and caring of her and now they are reunited again they both need to revisit their past to be able to move forward. If you love a good baseball romance with a huge cast of characters then Coming Home is for you and I cannot wait for the next instalment in this series as the other characters were also so heartfelt and loyal. I received a complementary copy from the author so thank you Kristin.

SWEET !

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5) Wyatt & Charlie

Easy read, the blurb drew me in with the 8 year separation and I thought it might have more angst but the story is more sweet than angst filled. I enjoyed it.

I love Kristin MacQueen books. They are fast reads, super cute rom-coms, and easy to digest.

I read this book since I am on the ARC team for book #2…and I have to say, I was super confused. Turns out, there is a series before this one that leads into it. So while she references characters like I should already know them; I didn’t since I hadn’t read that first series. But that’s my problem.

Wyatt & Charlie were childhood sweethearts that “took a break” that was not mutual. Now that Charlie is back in town and working for the team Wyatt plays on, they are adjusting to their new life together and working through the hurt of the relationship that was.

My biggest issue with the book is that everything moves sooooo fast. There is little details or depth to the characters. Time passes quickly and any small conflicts just magically resolve. Maybe I am used to more in my romance books…who knows.

With that said, if you are looking for a cute read to fill a gap between books, this wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Overall, I enjoyed this story immensely and loved the world which Kristin MacQueen has created here. BUT, even though this is the first book in a new series, the world which the author has created and from which this story stems is VAST and the extensive network of characters and relationships which make up her series, "The Boys of Mulberry Lane," are the foundation for everything that happens on the page in this story, and as such, it is my opinion that this story/series would be best enjoyed if you've previously read the other series, because there are a LOT of characters and unfortunately, in the first few chapters, you very much feel like you've been thrown head-first into a well-established, and on-going story with all the people moving about on the page (and you have been, despite it being a series starter). I'm not sure how the author would have introduced a reader more organically to this world, but it's so complex that it can feel like you're lost (should I already know who this is and why this is her "uncle" but isn't her uncle at the same time?? and why is that her mom, but isn't that his dad?? what??), and I think the whole thing would have benefitted immensely from a quick "getting to know" chapter or two with a bit of the basic history of this extended family and friends group who all lives on Mulberry Lane like an amazing, supportive, fun, and enviable commune (it's not a commune, but it's a community I'd love to be a part of!). As it is, though, it does feel like you're dropped right in the middle and told to swim, so that's a bit of a let down if you aren't familiar with the characters.... BUT as I've come to expect from Kristin MacQueen's stories, you get these massive, complex groups of (sometimes co-dependent) characters who are all entangled together and supportive of each other and that makes for rich, emotional, and heartwarming stories which draw you in and make you feel invested in what happens next from beginning to end. I loved this story, and while a crash course would have helped, I did figure it all out after a few chapters and was really amazed that she's given all these characters such complex and individual personalities and passions and interpersonal relationships. I think Wyatt and Charlie could have used a lot more in the communication skills department and they'd have saved everyone a lot of trouble, and by extensions it feels weird that none of the adults stepped in and said "hey, why haven't you guys TALKED about what's going on at any point in the last 8 years" particularly because everyone is so unbelievably involved in every one else's business, but then we wouldn't have had such an emotionally complex and interesting story, so it's all good.

Overall, I loved what was happening on the page, and enjoyed the relationships, the drama, the support, and the reconciliations. It's a well-written, sweet, angsty, and engaging story which I definitely recommend, but I also want a family/friend tree at the front so we're all on the same page! I definitely look forward to reading the next story to see how everything works out for Macy and Cord.

Charlie is starting a new position as a physical therapist for the Pit Bulls. She is fierce, has a big heart and will speak out on important matters. She is done to earth and sweet.

Wyatt is the Pitt Bull’s team captain. He can show a stern and grizzly side but will take care of his friends and family and put others first always.

These two! This is their second chance story after a rough and sudden separation causes them years of hurt and sadness. Done with the right intentions, Wyatt has always wanted Charlie to chase her dream and be able to grow and develop herself. He gives off cinnamon roll vibes when it comes to her and will always be there to defend and protect her. Charlie understands Wyatt like no one else and sees past the walls he might build. She will look out for him and help in any way she can. The two of them definitely go on a journey in this book, trying to re-understand things and figuring out how to move forward but also rekindle their past. They have a push and pull nature, with moments that pull at the heart strings. You definitely cheer as they find their way back to each other.

Along with this we have the Mulberry Lane crew and new faces with the second generation and the Pit Bulls crew. I think it could be helpful to have read the Mulberry Lane series before this since there is a whole cast of characters that return from that series so there are a lot of names, but they each stand out from each other and you can see how tight this community/family is. Moreover, we get to see the new generation and get hints at possible story lines for them, as well as the baseball players who themselves become a family. There is humor and heart when it comes to these groups and you definitely grow to care about each of them, wondering if they will get their own stories!

Overall, this was an engaging read and I look forward to seeing Cord and Macy’s story.

This is my first book by Kristin MacQueen and I thoroughly enjoyed it - cannot wait for the next book in the series. Wyatt and Charlie (aka Charlotte) were High School sweethearts that everyone expected to marry and live happily ever after. Then for some unknown reason Wyatt broke up with Charlie, and now she is back ….. He is now a professional baseball player and she is now the teams Physio.

Remember the old saying “if you love someone set them free, if they come back they were yours, if they don’t, they never were”. This is so true for this beautiful story. Will she understand why he let her go? Will she give him a second chance? Will they be able to work everything out and have a life together? Charlie has only and still loves Wyatt. When she finds out why he broke up, will she understand his selfless reasons?

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story 💗 From page to page, chapter to chapter, you will enjoy this beautiful story - from cover to cover! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊😊

This is the 1st book in the PitBulls Baseball series featuring the heartwarming baseball, coworkers, forced proximity, friends to lovers, second chance, shared past,small-town,sports, workplace romance between Wyatt and Charlie. Wyatt and Charlie grew up together their parents are best-friend's and they briefly dated before Wyatt broke up with her but for altruistic reasons he wanted her to live her dreams. Now it's years later and Charlie has finally returned to her hometown since she accepted a job to work for the PitBulls the baseball team Wyatt plays for. Wyatt never stopped loving Charlie and he never planned on them being apart for so long and now that she's back he's not going to waste his second chance. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this heartwarming baseball, coworkers, forced proximity, friends to lovers, second chance, shared past,small-town, sports, workplace romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

I absolutely LOVED reading Wyatt and Charlie’s book! 🔥💙

I remember reading Believe (Addi and Wes- Charlie’s) as well as Breathless (Blake and Kennedy- Wyatt’s parents) and just BEGGING Kristin to make Charlie and Wyatt a couple! 😂🙏🏼😍

Wyatt and Charlie have a history from growing up together because their parents are best friends to dating (briefly) because ya know… LIFE. 😭🙈

They get a second chance at love because Charlie accepts a job working for the Pit Bulls baseball team, which is the team in her hometown. It just so happens that Wyatt plays for that team. He never stopped loving Charlie… just like she never stopped loving him. 😭🙌🏼🥰

She does make him work for it and is upset when he tells her the real reason he broke it off to begin with. She understands why, but is still frustrated that they wasted all that time. They work everything out and FINALLY get their HEA. 😍😍😍

I was super excited to all see the peek into the future and can’t wait to see where the rest of the next generation takes us! 💕💕💕

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. Charlie and Wyatt grew up next door to each other and their parents are best friends. Charlie and Wyatt became best friends themselves and end up dating before Wyatt breaks up with Charlie before she leaves for college. Years pass and Wyatt is playing for the Pit Bulls Baseball team back in their home town and Charlie just returned home and took a job for the team as a physical therapist.

Wyatt and Charlie both still love each other but Charlie is still hurting over Wyatt breaking her heart. Wyatt is prepared to win back the love of his life before someone else wins her heart.

I liked how Charlie did not immediately fall at Wyatt's feet like most other second chance romances. She made him work for his second chance. Just as they find their way back to each other will the reason Wyatt broke them up years ago break them up a second time?.

I love how the author intertwines the characters for the different series. Coming Home brings you back to Mulberry Lane and is Charlie and Wyatt's story.

If you had read the previous book, you know their backstory and how they both steal your heart. Charlie and Wyatt meet when as kids, they were always together. They grew up and fell in love with a future anyone could see, until it was not there.

Now eight years later, Charlie has returned from college and is starting her new job. Wyatt is a major league baseball player. They one thing they have in common is that both their hearts are in shattered.

This story is the start of a new series that brings back old character. Their journey back from the pain broke my heart. Yes grab tissues. To see it come around and start a new beginning has be excited to what is next.

Charlie and Wyatt is story I have waited to read, and it does not disappoint.

Coming Home is a wonderful premise and I enjoy a sports romance, but this second chance just didn't quite meet my expectations. Charlie and Wyatt grew up side by side and were best friends from the beginning, but Wyatt made a stupid, disastrous decision for both of their futures and he broke her heart. He wanted her to follow her dreams instead of following his?? Who does he think he is! As many ways as you try to twist it, the process is condescending and the decision is cold. The worst part is that Wyatt never intended to stay away from her for very long, but now it's 8 years later and that's simply too little, too late. Fortunately, Charlie wasn't willing to so much as talk to him, let alone welcome him back into her life, but that was how it had to be written in order for them to have their happy ending. The "reunion" dragged on too long and I lost interest and skimmed to the end. It had promise, but didn't deliver.

Coming Home is book one of the Pitbulls Baseball Series.

I really loved the love and dedication Charlie and Wyatt have for each other. You can tell they have a great and amazing love, but there were events which had to put what they had on hold.

Charlie really feels betrayed by Wyatt and has a lot of trouble moving on from the past. She struggles to recover from a broken heart and I felt bad for her being kept in the blue and not knowing all of the information. Wyatt really had a lot he had to make up for to get any form of forgiveness from Charlie. However, you find out the reasoning behind Wyatt's actions and you can't really hate him for it. He was self-sacrificing and I really liked that he put Charlie's dreams ahead of himself. But he should've been more open and honest about things and then they would not have had eight years distance between them.

This was a great read and I really liked the introduction to this town and the people on Mulberry Lane.

Coming Home is the first story in the Pit Bulls Baseball series, but you may recognize the main characters, Charlie and Wyatt, and a lot of their friends, from prior series (The Boys of Mulberry Lane), and the team owner from the Bossholes series.

Charlie and Wyatt were meant to be. Their friendship was well documented in the prior series, including the start of their relationship when Charlie turned 18. Unfortunately, by the start of this book they are no longer together.

Coming Home is a second shot at first love story with found family everywhere, and it is one of my favorites. Aside from the follow ups on prior characters (and multiple additional examples of Owen and his lack of boundaries), Charlie and Wyatt are just wonderful, well rounded characters. Charlie is relatable and I would love it if we could be friends in real life. She's down to earth and stands her ground when needed, but also collects protectors and a great friend group.

This book should come with a warning, it will have you in tears and your heart breaking. Wyatt thought he was doing the right thing by his girlfriend Charlie when he ended their relationship, however what was meant to be a short break, turned into eight years and Charlie hating him. Wyatt is determined to win her back though, no matter what.
I just loved this book, the characters are just amazing but I love the fact so many characters from the other series are included in this book. This book will have you hooked, and on a rollercoaster of emotions.
Amazing writing, can’t wait for more in this series!.

Loving the Pitbulls Baseball series, as it is off to a great start. This small town romance will pull at the heartstrings as Wyatt and Charlie navigate finding their way back to each other.

Charlie and Wyatt have known each other all their lives. They grew up next to each other, their parents are best friends and they fell in love, had a future all planned out. Until Wyatt broke both their hearts.

Now Charlie is back in town and taking a job with the baseball team Wyatt plays for. He is determined to win her back, as he didn’t plan on them being apart this long.

There is so much to enjoy about this story.

Small Town Second Chance Romance

When Charlie is offered a position as a physical therapist for a professional baseball team, she is thrilled. This position means she gets to move back to her hometown, being closer to her family and friends. The only problem she has with accepting the position is, she'll be working for the team that her ex is team captain of. He dumped her 8 years ago and she has never moved on and has not been in a relationship since then. Wyatt finds out she's moving back home while she's they're out with friends, then finds out she's working with his team when she walks into the weight room with the owner. Will she finally get over her anger towards him, especially when she finds out why he broke up with her?

Coming Home was a heartwarming read that was filled with emotion. Kristen MacQueen has done a great job developing a slow burn, second chance, sports romance with a small-town feel that pulls on the readers heartstrings and making us root for Charlie and Wyatt.

There are a lot of names to keep track of, and I personally found it confusing at times. However, I feel like if I were to read the 'Boys of Mulberry Lane' series I would probably have a better idea of the web that is the Mulberry Lane "family".

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. It felt more wholesome and innocent than books I usually read, but I was still drawn into the story and it held my attention. I will be looking forward of more to come of the 'Pit Bulls Baseball' series.

No matter how good the intentions, breaking up with someone for their own good leaves a sting. Charlie and Wyatt have been in love since they were kids but he lets her go so that she can follow her dreams. But neither of them is over the other. And when she returns home and they are working for the same organization their second chance comes their way. Not only are the main characters engaging but their folks and the cast of characters around them made this a fun and engaging read with a long overdue HEA for this pair.

Clean Pro Baseball Childhood Best Friends

Never thought I would really enjoy a closed door romance, but I honestly couldn’t stop reading. You get sweet, young adults that are finding their way home again. Its childhood best friends turned to dating, only for the MMC to push the FMC to her dreams by leaving her. We also have a second chance at that love once both come back home. The MMC is a pro baseball player, so we have some sports action going on. The FMC is a PT with a new job for a pro baseball team. As for spice, there really isn’t any as this book but the lead up is nice.

Wyatt & Charlie

Coming Home by Kristin MacQueen is funny, romantic and will have you in tears. It’s book one of the Pit Bulls Baseball Series and an offshoot of the Boys of Mulberry Lane Series.

Wyatt and Charlie broke up eight years ago when she went to PT school, now she’s moving back home to work with his MLB team. He hopes to rekindle the flames but she doesn’t think she can put herself out there again.

I fell in love with the main characters, the family and their friends. I was sucked into the story from the beginning to the end. I recommend for a clean second chance sports romance with a HEA.

This is the first book I’ve read by Kristin MacQueen and I was not disappointed. This second chance rediscovery of love and family book hit all the sweet spots.

When Charlie takes a job in her hometown knowing she will come face to face with her childhood love, we know the sparks will fly. I adored Wyatt and his devotion to her even after 8 years.

If you love small town, baseball, 2nd chance, coming home, found family, or lots of banter, don’t sleep on this book.

Now I have to go back and read the origins of Mulberry Lane. Great job Kristin. I am hooked!

Oh my did this story suck me into it's world, apologies to my family! I just love these characters so much, they make me laugh and smile. The love that is shown in this is just beautiful, the honesty in the ups and downs in relationships and working through the tough times was written well and when truths were revealed I felt for all those involved, I cannot wait to read more from this series and I loved the bonus scene offered at the end.

Kristin where have you been all my life? This was the loveliest small town second chance sports romance I’ve read in a while. Wyatt and Charlie’s story had me on an emotional rollercoaster from the get go. I adored them together and couldn’t flick through to pages quick enough to see if they’d get their HEA.

Now just for me to go back and read everything else Kristin has ever published ready for the next book in this new series.

I love a good second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. This was a wonderfully heartwarming, witty and inspirational story. Charlie and Wyatt have several years of their past to overcome to get to their happy ending but they have never stopped loving each other. The book is well written and had me turning pages to the end. I loved it and am very excited to read more in the Pit Bulls Baseball series.

A good second. chance, workplace/forced proximity romance and I especially loved the found family or community vibes in the book, just how united these folks were to one another and stood up for each other - loved it. Though I must say the number of characters being introduced was overwhelming and confusing at first and took some time to figure out so it would be better to have these people listed out at the start to help ease out the confusion when you have so many new characters being introduced.

Charlie and Wyatt finally got their story!!! I've loved these two characters throughout the entire Boys of Mulberry Lane series; in which, we meet Charlie in book 1 and Wyatt in book 2. Then we follow their friendship and family throughout the series and several spin off series' just waiting for this epic book where they finally get their HEA!

Charlie and Wyatt have been in love since they were kids. They always thought that they would be together. However to fulfill her dreams, Charlie has to leave and Wyatt lets her.
Once they both end up home at the same time, they see their second chance! This entire series has been incredible to unfold but can definitely be read as a standalone. Kristin MacQueen’s books are so great that you’ll want to read the rest of her books!
A definite MUST read!!!

Kristin Macqueen has done it again!
This author writes the best characters. I am always completely pulled into their lives and lose myself to the story.
Charlie and Wyatt were so good together and it was so sad that it took them so long to find their way back to each other.
This is heartfelt, heartwarming and emotional, with beautiful characters and a perfect ending.
I’m looking forward to reading more of this new series.

Thank you to the author.
