What an excellent, action packed conclusion to this duology! I have never once imagined a story intertwining vampires and dragons but this series did it so seamlessly. This book had tension, spice, action, heartbreak, and love all wrapped up into one beautiful story. It absolutely had me on the edge of my seat. Where Celestina was painfully naive in book 1, she really grew into being strong-willed, independent FMC in this sequel. I absolutely love Amaya and her sassiness and may even love her relationship with Cullen more than Soren and Celestina. Overall a fantastic duology!

Thank you to Dorothy for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was a great conclusion to The Moonlight Dragon Duology! The characters are ones I have enjoyed getting to know! Each of them hasn't had it easy and they each grew individually and together! I honestly can't think of a reason not to want to read this book! The world is interesting, the action begins from the start and never stops, the story always has you on your toes and the main character is trying to deal with a lot and trying to stay true and there's spice and forbidden romance! This is the end for these characters but maybe we can get more books from this world! Thank you Dorothy McFalls for sharing this book with me!

A great conclusion to this duology! I loved meeting several new characters and the satisfaction of concluding all the stories. And we find out so much more about our Moonlight Dragon. I truly felt for Amaya, her difficulty with her people (or dragons) and how much she was ostracized because of her power. Not all destructive power is bad, a lot of it is good, and this book is a wonderful reminder of that. The book boogies its way through many nail-biting moments, keeping you on the edge of your seat and asking for more. Not to mention all the time you spend wondering just who can be trusted and who can’t. Old wounds run deep!

A great conclusion to this duology! I love anything with dragons and this was no exception. The FMC had amazing growth and I really enjoyed how everyone’s stories concluded. Would for sure recommend this if you are looking for a great dragon fantasy read!

CW: spice, gore, violence, inferences/threats of r@pe/SA, aftermath of emotional @buse, some others

Thank you to the author for allowing me to be a part of the ARC team! “Curse of the Midnight Dragon” is available now!

To the author: First of all, how *dare* you write such a perfect book and then have the *audacity* to make it the final installment? I know it’s a duology and that means there’s only two, but I wasn’t done with these characters yet!

In the wake of their escape from Fein, Celestina and Soren search for answers about Celestina’s past. Proclaimed to be the last moonlight dragon, Celestina is still unsure if the theories of her heritage are correct. A chance encounter with another dragon sends everything spiraling, and as ancient prophecies loom ever larger, the moonlight and midnight dragons will be faced with more challenges than they could have ever expected.

Did I mention that this was the perfect ending for this series? I don’t even know where to begin; everything was so wonderfully executed that picking just one starting point seems rude to the others. Alas, we have to start somewhere, so let’s go with…

Character growth. And what an incredible amount of growth it is, too. We already got to see a little bit of that development in book 1 as Celestina started to understand that the treatment she was subjected to in Earst wasn’t deserved, but here we really get to see her start breaking out of that shell. At points it’s still frustrating, because she’s so kind and so traumatized that we can see it actively working against her, but that final result makes all of it come together so perfectly. Don’t even get me started on how amazing our newest character, Amaya, is in the midst of all this. Damaged in her own way but still insanely fierce, I could have spent another entire book just reading about her.

One of the things we get a lot more of in this book is world information. We learn more about the kingdoms, about the history of magic (or what information is left of it, anyway), about the state of affairs overall. It’s something that we didn’t get as much of in book 1 because it didn’t fit, but here we get to learn alongside Celestina as she travels and encounters more of the world that she was so cut off from before. It’s explained well in that it doesn’t feel like an info dump and it doesn’t get super into the political weeds, but it still gives us (and her) enough knowledge to navigate the current circumstances. And of course, as in book 1, the descriptions are beautiful and immersive.

How about the plot. Do you want to discuss the plot? Because I do. It’s been 12 hours and I’m still mentally screaming about it. Every time I expected something to play out in a specific way, I was *completely and totally wrong* and it was so much better than I could have ever predicted. If I said that I saw a few things coming in book 1, it was in preparation for seeing absolutely none of it coming here in book 2. Standard fantasy tropes? Completely subverted and exceeded. You’re not ready. This whole story was just perfect and I got to the end and realized I was tearing up. Even some of those themes that can start to grate on your nerves if done wrong were executed with such casual excellence that they did nothing but add to the story. Specifically, we see Celestina have a little bit of ‘do I trust him, do I not’ with a specific character, but it never becomes annoying or obnoxious. I absolutely could not put this book down once I started. It immediately grabbed my attention and kept me engaged the entire time; a true 10/10 execution.

I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to read this story; it’s got just about everything the fantasy romance reader could want— magic, spice, the absolute best cast of characters, a heroine who’s doing her best to work through a lot of issues while still being true to herself and her beliefs, DRAGONS?! Both of these books were absolutely incredible, and I’m so, so glad to have had the chance to ARC read for both of them. The conclusion to the Moonlight Dragon duology, “Curse of the Midnight Dragon” is available now, which means you have 0 excuse for not reading these books immediately.

Although this story is a duology, I feel that the story has just begun. Celestina and Soren story may have come to an end I believe there is a continuing story brewing between Soren’s brother Cullen and Amaya.

This romantasy is unique in the sense that it deals with the forbidden romance between dragons and vampires. Sworn enemies at the brink of war but Celestina and Soren make it work. As the last moonlight dragon Celestina soon realizes that family is what you make it’ especially when she is reunited with her dragon clan who has decided to plan her life out of living arrangements, clothes to who she will mate with in order to birth a new nation of dragons. Celestina decides that she will forge her own path based on her decisions and not the decisions of others. Still dealing with trust issues in her relationship with Soren; Celestina learns to stand up for herself and refuses to backdown from a fight. Even if it’s to her own mate’s peril.

Amaya is the last midnight dragon. A dragon known for its destructive and chaotic nature. Amaya has had a hard life living within her dragon clan. A clan who is obsessed with finding the Moonlight dragon and once she is found treats her like royalty while Amaya was treated as an inconvenience. Captured by a vampire prince who weaves a dangerous web of influence, she must battle her desires and stay true to her dragon heritage, but Amaya soon learns that you can’t escape fate. Although it goes against her nature she is drawn to the arrogant, annoyingly handsome vampire prince who so happens to be the brother of the Moonlight dragon’s mate. Talk about a conundrum.

Celestina and Amaya are part of a prophecy that will usher in the age of dragons, but they first need to learn how to work together and not against each other. Amaya had a lot of growing pains. With a deep hatred for vampires, she couldn’t stomach the fact that Celestina was mated to a vampire prince. Amaya judged Celestina as a traitor to their kind and was envious of how everyone dragon and vampire alike were drawn to her. The Moonlight and Midnight dragon is the key to saving or condemning mankind but first they need to learn to work, grow and put aside their differences in order to be the saving grace mankind needs.

When I tell you I love this book, I mean I love it so much I cried because it was over.

This is a hidden gem in the fantasy book world and I hope more readers go buy this duology asap!

I can't decide which I like more in the duology... both books are absolute perfection in my opinion and what a rare occurance it is when book 2 is just as good as book 1!

Dorothy has created and wrote such a beautiful and unique book (& duology), filled with Dragons, Vampires, that is bursting with magic.
She left no detail undone. Small bits of information that seem insignificant become bread crumbs for much larger scenes later on. I am in awe of her ability as an author to be able to create such a fascinating world in only 2 books with so much attention to detail. She writes in such a way that you keep coming back for more!

Curse of the Midnight Dragon draws you in and submerges you within the pages. You find yourself viewing the world Dorothy built, meeting characters, and seeing kingdoms as if you are one of the characters.
I was not prepared for the emotions evoked from scenes I didn't see coming, plot twists I'm still healing from & laughter I still feel in my chest.

Celestina and Amaya are a force of pure written magic in this book. I loved reading from both of thier POV's.
Midnight and Moonlight come together to challenge prophecies and rewrite history.
2 powerful dragons, 2 powerful women.

The lore, history, and worldbuilding that Dorothy poured into this duology is incredibly well done, I cannot stress that enough. She immediately became an instant buy author for me and this series as at the top of my favorites list!

I'm still heartbroken it's over, I was not ready to say goodbye to characters just yet.
Thank the dragons because Dorothy just announced a novella prequel I'll be pre-ordering it this week!
....otherwise I may have ended up in her messages begging for more! 🤣

Maybe it’s me, I’m the problem here… I went in to book two already annoyed by our FMC. She is co-dependent (almost triggering), naive, submissive (not in a good way), and lacks confidence and independent thought. I had hoped for some growth, some taking her power back, some sign that she could be her own woman. But alas, at 50% the disappoint ment reigns. I am struggling to push through. I don’t DNF lightly, especially since I still have the third book, an ARC, to read/review. That right there is the only reason for my self inflicted punishment here. I’m not having a good time.

Our FMC is still in a master/slave situation. She still refuses to see truths that are laid bare in front of her. She is on the verge of being forced to accept who and what she is. But because of our MMC and her unhealthy attachment to him, she refuses.

She is immature for 23 years old. Her sex drive and desires are that of a confident self aware woman, which completely contradicts everything else about her personality! She thinks, acts, and speaks like a tween.

I just can’t with her! She’s definitely not my type of FMC. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good story with a little trauma an FMC must face. Growth and pain she must endure to come out on the other side. Even the complete failure that inevitable happens during that period. A beautifully written character arc that shows there is life on the other side of pain and trauma. Not here folks. Not here. I need a pause to clear my frustrations.

UPDATE: I finished. The last 80 pages still didn’t do it for me.

This books reframing quality - the secondary female character! She’s rage, and fire, and trauma, a grief, and I loved every moment of her journey. The relationship dynamic and growth between her and her enemy Prince was better than our FMC/MMC in my opinion.

🌕ARC REVIEW🌑

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Curse of the Midnight Dragon by Dorothy McFalls releases October 29th but is available for preorder now! It’s the final book in the Moonlight Dragon Duology.

Thank you Dorothy McFalls for sending me this ARC so I can review it for you!

Celestina thought she had everything- love, a new family and security. But now it seems like everyone wants to use her now that they know she is the last moonlight dragon shifter. She has to face the choice of staying with the vampire family she knows and the dragon clan she was supposed to be with.

I was so incredibly excited to get an ARC for this book! I loved the first book and couldn’t wait to see what happened! There was so much action and detail in the pages that I felt like I could see everything that was happening and I love reading books that make me feel that way! I loved the addition of Amaya! Reading Amya and Cullen going back and forth with each other made me laugh so much I’m pretty sure my family thought I was crazy😂 I also enjoyed seeing the characters flaws or weaknesses and how the people that loved them still cared for them and supported them through all the hard moments. It seemed like Soren and Celestina grew a lot as a couple but also as individuals and I thought the ending was the perfect ending for this series!
I can’t recommend this book enough! Thank you so much Dorothy for letting me ARC read both of these books for you and sharing their world with us, it was absolutely beautiful!

The setup: Celestina and Soren are searching for answers about her life, the magical collar, and the suspicious things happening in their realm. Dragon Amaya is captured by enemies and is desperate for a way out. As an evil queen starts carrying out her nefarious plans, the fate of the realm will fall on Celestina and Amaya’s shoulders. They are tied together by prophecy, even though they don’t know it yet. War is on the horizon for humans, vampires, and dragons.

My thoughts: This book is almost entirely action. It is doing SO much (maybe a little too much if I’m honest). It’s such a ride, beginning to end. It really has just about everything: dragons, vampires, magic users, mates, chosen family, royal intrigue. We get two pov’s - Celestina and a new character called Amaya. I love seeing Celestina grow and show that she is more than the naive girl we met in the first book. And though I was skeptical of Amaya at first, I actually came to love her so much. Maybe my favorite character. This duology is full of vibes in the way that Fourth Wing is full of vibes. More modern language, open door spicy scenes, and alllll the banter between characters. I think if you like Fourth Wing and like fantasy characters who are similar to the fae in Throne of Glass, this would be a great duology for you!

I received this as an e-arc. My review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is 10000% a fantastic ending to this Duology!
I was offered this novel as an ARC review. It came in a gorgeous PR box with my own little dragon and he kept me company the entire time I was reading. I even named him. Sir Readerton, House of Ventura, First of His Name.

Yea. I watched GoT. Sue me lol

Back to the book! It gave me EVERYTHING that I needed. It was action-packed. It was dramatic. It was suspenseful. It has vampires and dragons. DRAGONS. There was a ton of tension and just as much spice. I don’t think I was let down by any part of this book & that isn‘t something that I say often.

In book 1, Celestina got on every single nerve that I have. Not because she was a horribly written FMC, but because she was naive. Her character growth in this one was exactly what I was looking for and kept me turning the pages to see where she went with it. I fell in love with Amaya and Cullen. I love characters that you literally ache to give up. I love a good connection that is painful when it ends. It lets me know that all the blood, sweat, at tears the author put into this novel were portrayed on the pages to the point where I couldn’t give them up.
I will recommend this to literally anyone who will listen.

This book is one I anticipated since I read the first book last year. I enjoyed the suspense and me constantly wondering who we needed to like or trust and it kept me on the edge of my seat not knowing who was lying or who had their heart on the line. I loved the found/chosen family aspect. I enjoyed all the chaos of adventure that played out. I really loved the new love interest introduction with Amaya and Cullen as it gave the story more variety and characters to enjoy. But it also helped pull the story together. The spice picked up in this book compared to the last one, but I will say some of the scenes felt a little rushed, and one towards the end was a little dark and felt like it didn’t fit the vibe, it just wasn’t a scene for me. Overall, this book had me hooked and I loved reading the conclusion to this story I fell in love with last year!

“Keep your wits about you and return to us whole, Amaya”

“Goddess. Is this happening? Is it true? Earst has truly fallen. And its fall has paved the way for the return of the dragons.”

When I opened the book and found this dedication:
To those who are grieving.
Let this tale be a moment of lightness in the long journey you’re taking
it hit home and the timing was unreal.
Well, I lost myself inside this book as I read. So much action, suspense that I didn’t know who I trusted or even liked as I kept turning the pages.
Hooked from the start as I needed to find out what happened after the first book.
Magic, vampires, dragons, spice and found family.
This book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat!
Perfect ending to a fantastic Duology.

Thank you so much Dorothy McFalls for the ARC.

The perfect blend of magic, danger and love!
This book took me to soaring heights and crushed me at devastating lows. What a rollercoaster of emotions and adventure…
I was so excited to jump back into Princess Celestina’s journey as she fought to shake the binding spells cast upon her by tyrannical queens that sought to rule her power. It was wondrous to experience both the vampire and dragon cultures and to see ancient prophecies come true as Celestina and Amaya brought about the future that was foretold, but not in the way anyone expected. I loved Amaya’s sassy personality and genuinely enjoyed her addition to the story. I think she may have been my favorite character in the end. (And speaking of endings… I absolutely ADORED the sweet ending to this duology. I am a sucker for a HEA and this ticked every box!!)

This was such a great conclusion to an amazing duology! In this book you get to see many new characters and there's a lot of growth for the characters you meet in the first book.

There were so many twists and nail-biting moments that kept me flipping the page to find out what was going to happen next. I was obsessed with these characters! I cannot describe how much I love this duology.

If you're looking for a fun adventurous duology to pick up with with great fantasy world building and a delightful romance. And of course dragons 10/10 recommend picking up this one!!

Oh my!!! Yes!!! I’m mad I didn’t finish this sooner but life was lifeing and an injury held me back. “You’re not a monster, my beautiful Amaya. Your heart is too big , and you care too much for others to ever allow you to become the villain of this story.” -Cullen. This story was beautiful from beginning to end. Found family. Enemies to lovers. Fantasy beings. Dragons. Vampires. Humans. War. To do what no one else is willing to do to secure the safety of everyone, the tough hide of our MFC. I need more now. So, beautiful and hopeful!

My jaw was on the floor several times with his book 😆 I honestly wasn't sure how they were going to get out of the conundrum they found themselves in, but it ended in the best way! I really liked how this book had more of Amaya's POV. She's probably my favorite character!

I listened to this book and the audiobook was *chef's kiss.* Sara always does an amazing job and I know it's going to be an awesome audiobook when I pick one of hers.

This Romantasy Duology was the perfect amount of time to spend with these characters and hits just right in the feels!

This book is so good! I loved the first book in this series and the second is even better! I couldn’t put it down!

This is from an indie author so it won’t get the hype it deserves but I love it as much as I love Fourth Wing!
If you like dragon romantasy, then you need to read this series! There’s dragons, vampires, and other magical creatures, oh my!
Enemies to lovers, found family, magic, fierce FMCs, banter, and delicious spice!

I enjoyed this book so much! The first book was awesome, and this book was the icing on the cake. It has mystery, suspense, tension, magic, dragon, vampires, and a bit of spice. The character development was chef's kiss. Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? Who should I side with? Who should I feel sorry for? What's going to happen next?! I won't give way the ending, but I may have shed a tear or two. Highly recommend for all of the fantasy lovers!

Pitch: From Blood and Ash meets Brave with dragons

I read this book without reading the first book. It stunned me how well developed and accessible the story was without info dumping the previous story. The POVs are two females, who are not love interests. When their stories intersect, chills zipped down my spine. The love story is secondary to the main conflict, which is a big plus for me. The first book immediately hit my TBR.

This book was a sequel I was dying to read. It did not disappoint, and was more than I could have hoped for!

Celestina was extremely naive in the first book 1, but she stepped into her power in this book!! She and Soren escape from Fein, in pursuit of answers concerning Celestina’s past. She’s still skeptical about the theories surrounding her heritage, but meeting another dragon sets the action and adventure into high gear. She finally meets her people. But things don’t go the way anyone ever expected. Celestine learns a lot about her heritage and her love and bond with Soren are tested to the extreme!

We are introduced to Amaya, who has grown up around dragon shifters for her whole life, hearing about the prophecy day in and day out. She’s very sassy and outspoken, and has spent much of her life as a “black sheep” due to her destructive power. She had accepted that she was too much for everyone, but after her “captivating” introduction to Cullen, it turns out she just needed to channel that power and trust herself.

This is an incredible, action filled, angsty roller coaster ride! Romance and love and spice are still in there but SO MUCH MORE! History, more friends, new enemies, old enemies, betrayal, telepathy, necromancy, epic battles, court intrigue.. it’s awesome and awe inspiring! Romantasy and dragon and vampire lore fans, check out this complete duology as soon as you can!

What a fantastic way to wrap up this duology! I never anticipated a story that would seamlessly blend vampires and dragons. This book delivered tension, romance, heartbreak, and excitement, all woven into a captivating narrative that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Celestina, who was quite naive in the first book, evolves into a strong and independent protagonist in this sequel. I absolutely adore Amaya and her sass, and I might even prefer her relationship with Cullen over Soren and Celestina's. Overall, this is a fantastic duology!
