Christian Beckenbauer lived through the first attack because of his grandfather’s sacrifice. Then, he survived their return as a member of a tiny group of German soldiers that fled the Somme. They banded together and stopped the aliens from leveling the French city of Reims.
Now, he and his fellow Marauders are called once war to protect humankind from the alien invasion when they threaten to overtake Paris.
Are they up to the task?
Clouds in the Future picks up where Shadows of the Past left off, with a Europe ravaged by two wars. If you enjoyed War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, the Great War of the Worlds is the sequel series you’ve been searching for.
Eric is the author of *The Great War of the Worlds*, an ongoing series about the aftermath of the Martian invasion in the War of the Worlds.
Eric was lucky enough to inherit an incurable curiosity about technology and a tremendous love of science fiction from his father. Both led to a career repairing radars in the U.S. Army, followed by another as a programmer on Wall Street. Now, he writes about technology during the day, while writing scifi part time.
This kindle book that I won in a giveaway is a very interesting World War I story. The interesting thing is that it isn't your typical World War I story. This happena to be a very slightly supernatural retelling of the war. It is considered to be based off of HG Wells' War of the World book and takes place after the events of that book. I will admit this was slighly different from what I am used to reading it ended up being very interesting and creative.
