May 9, 2024Jaclin Marie's college romance Blinded by Love centers on the romance between underground fighter Hayden Night and restaurant server Jaclyn King.
Throughout the entire novel, I thought it fascinating that despite being viewed as the "bad boy," Hayden found himself caring about Jaclin and researching into diabetes care.
The time leap to the breakup in the third act was the only thing that didn't really sit well with me. I simply expected things to still work out for them, even though it was expected given that I beta read this.
I am, however, intrigued to see what Jaclin has planned for her other works.

I went into this book completely blind, aside from the fact that this story was deeply rooted into the authors own thoughts and feelings. I truly felt this story as a diary, with so many intimate and strong thoughts about the struggles of neglect, childhood abuse, as well as struggling with diabetes and proving self worth. In the prospect of all this, also bloomed a romance that stemmed from hate. You can say there’s a lot of ✨trauma bonding✨.
One thing I loved most about reading books is seeing authors put their whole selves into the stories, that help you teach great lessons in the guise of fiction. To anyone who ever has to or still goes through any of this I hope you receive all the love you deserve🫶. That being said, I really had a fun time with this book and can’t WAIT for the next book in the series.

This book is right up ur radar. (It brings me back to my wattpad phase too like those wattpad butterfly churning days😩)
A slight critique: and I’m so sorry but the English major in me was like ripping to say this, I did feel like the writing was a bit off at times. It’s certainly is not the best written I’ve read by her, but once again the formatting felt more like an informal diary. The story itself was great, but often in terms for me the writing was a bit difficult, but this is also in the perspective of how my professors may criticize me lol. There was a bit of repetition and not fluent prose, BUT I will say that this is a story anyone can read. I always get a lot of questions of what’s an easy read that informal language that people can read and the is definitely one of them which I’m so thankful I’m sure as many are for Jaclin Marie’s work.
ANYWAYS, I this book was SO fun. Most of all I had to make it clear that I’m in love with KAYDEN. Who’s not the mc but his story has me HOOKED. And I’m dying to know what he’s hiding like ME NEED TO KNOW. Plus hardcore hating myself for shipping Max and Natalia when she’s dating Chris help😭

I did not expect that ending. Actually I wouldn't have seen it from miles away. When I started reading it I knew it didn't have a truly happy end but I definitely wouldn't have thought about that ending and it made it a thousand times better because I know that their story will progress.
I enjoyed how this book was tied to the others and how they all make this little universe. and even the cameo of the author's previous book "Broken Beauty".
Reading this has been such an experience for me because the FMC is the same nationality and seeing and reading that representation in a book made me feel seen in a way that can't be expressed through words.
I am extremely grateful for getting the chance to ARC read this and I know that most of the people who will read it, will enjoy it because it is a roller-coaster of emotions.

"Blinded by Love" was my first foray into Jaclin Marie's world, and let me tell you, it was an absolute whirlwind. For a while, I couldn't bring myself to read anything else.
Jaclyn and Hayden aren't just characters; they're imprints on your soul. They're characters that, even though they're products of someone's creative process and experiences, leave a mark. I think it's one of the few instances where I felt truly "seen".
I found myself unexpectedly mirroring Jaclyn's fears, insecurities, and tangled relationships, and it cut deep. But Jaclin's mastery in articulating their emotions made every minute of my reading worth it.
Hayden embodies everything we secretly desire in a boyfriend. His growth throughout the narrative, his unwavering care for Jaclyn – it's heart-melting, actually ❤️🩹
As a die-hard fan of dual perspectives, I craved more of Hayden's insight. Yet, its absence only adds to the story's enigma, making it all the more captivating.
As for the ending? I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT! (did I already mention I need the second book as soon as possible? 😇) I wasn't expecting a "happily ever after" just yet, but the ending is mysterious enough to leave the details to the reader's imagination, and that shattered my heart a little.
If you crave a dark romance with a fiercely protective male lead, this book is a must-read, but please consider the trigger warnings before starting your reading journey!

Something I can say with full certainty is that Blinded By Love is not just a book, it’s a raw, emotional journey that pulls at your heartstrings from the very first page. The author poured her heart and mind into this books to make it a masterpiece that people can find comfort in.
Being able to see both Jaclyn and Haydens flaws is what makes those characters humans and relatable to us, readers. We as people are not perfect but there is always someone to whom we will be perfect, just like Jaclyn and Hayden found each other.
Love has a different meaning to all of us, but I’m sure that anybody who gives this book a try will find themselves rooting for Jaclyn and Haydens happy ending.
Their relationship and the whole plot of the book isn’t just “romance”, it’s about messy but beautiful reality of relationships and how they have power to change us, how the other person can change us.
As the time passes and you start loving someone, you also start loving yourself because of them, which is a big part of Jaclyn’s character development throughout the book.
I personally have read many books from Jaclin and this is by far my favorite one! Both mmc and fmc are really strong characters that everybody is going to love. Not even a single part of the book is boring or unnecessary which I personally appreciate a lot. If you are thinking about getting this book, and if you love f-up college romance that will keep you up at night (binged the book from 30% to 100% in a day - that’s how good it is), this book is definitely a right choice for you!
If you do give it a try I am sure that it will leave a big mark on you and that you will never be able to forget about it! :)

I have to say but I am completely awestruck and blown away by this book (This isn't the first time) I am sooo in love with Jaclyn and Hayden like omgg I could scream. Jaclin has written them in such a beautiful way that even with their flaws and everything they matched each other perfectly and fit together like rare pieces of a puzzle finally put in place. I love their chemistry and the burn they had before they gave in to each other. The way Jaclyn never opposed to Hayden's underground fights but rather was thrilled to watch them got me so giddy and happy. They loved each other's twisted and dark parts but still loved each other the same, maybe even more. I am absolutely in love with their characters and everyone seriously needs A Hayden in their life (I want too hehe) By the way, don't even get me started on the ending. As much as I hate cliffhangers, the ending was chef's kiss and VERY unexpected. I internally shrieked in shock (there were people around and I didn't want them to think I was mentally unstable which I am but I promise not the bad kind hehe) cause NO WAY there are brothers and I am STILL hung over it. It's too unbelievable and I am also soooo depressed they broke upp because of what happened to Jaclyn like questions are still running through my mind about what had actually happened. While I think I got an idea of what happened I still wanna know the whole thing soooo baddd like how are Hayden and Rowan brothers and to what extent had Eric and his guys done things to Jaclyn that she couldn't be with Hayden anymore? I seriously can't wait for Blinded by Hate cause I NEEDD to know what happened. I could really die from anticipation but I don't wanna rush Jaclin. So, I hope Jaclin will take her time and then, when the time comes, will share another masterpiece with us. And although Broken Beauty is closer to my heart, I really really loved this book and it was really such an honor to be one of the ARC readers for this book. Jaclin seriously deserves more fame cause her books are just from another world and it can't be described with words just how fascinating and beautiful they are. I completely fell in love with Hayden’s and Jaclyn’s story. The way Jaclin wrote this two beautiful flawed characters is just amazing. Throughout her writing I could really connect with Jaclyn and Hayden.
The book doesn’t get 5 stars for me, because I was really disappointed that we saw so little of how the protagonists are as an official couple. That was really the only thing I disliked.
But other than that I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really liked the whole plot idea of this book. The plot was similar but different all at the same time. We follow Jaclyn and Hayden through their struggles along with their friends, Kayden (who has also had a traumatic experience in his life), Max, Chris and Natalia.
We come to know and understand the struggles they have been through in their life and the demons they are fighting as a consequence of those experiences.
We get to see how their relationship unfolds and how they grow together.
The characters were really likeable and felt relatable in certain ways.
The ending of this book was really not what I was expecting and although I liked the direction this book went in; I have multiple unasnswered questions about how we got there, what happened and what will happen next. (Praying there will be a second book to answer these questions)

I know I said I wouldn’t review under 3 star books but I just had to review this one. I’m gonna sound so mean and I apologize, but this book was probably one of the worst if not the worst book I’ve ever read LOL. Listen. I would’ve ate this shit UP in middle/early high school. Literally the whole time I was reading I was like wow this is actually a poorly written wattpad novel. Turns out, the author literally wrote this on wattpad and published it. Also, the amount of grammatical errors in this book was so tragic. Genuinely this comes across as so mean but also isn’t it part of the editor’s job to find and fix mistakes like this?? I’m usually all for finishing series and duets but I can’t make myself read another book like this - I’m so sorry. 😬

This book made me so FUCKING angry I can‘t even form words for it. I wanted to give it like 3 stars cause there were a lot of things that annoyed me. BUT THE LAST 2 CHAPTERS??? Are you fucking kidding me?? What the hell was that? Everything is fine and in the last chapters they rape her and than his father turns up? Sorry not sorry but that was by far the shittiest ending I‘ve ever read.
Also - why the hell are two friends named Hayden and Kayden? And also: If you call the main character like yourself as an author and only change one letter- maybe read the book twice before publishing it? Because Jaclyn very often became Jaclin.
Anyways ready to finally read something else. Peace out.

This was my first book I read by Jaclin but it definitely won't be my last! I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters!
We meet Jaclyn who has really struggled in the past few years. She just wants to get away from her home life and move on to better things. She leaves the town her and her mom are staying in to go live with her uncle while she attends college.

Jaclyn finds herself in a few situations and Hayden is always saving her. They seem to be happy together but when things hit the fan will she stay around?
I really liked this story as it had a little bit of everything! I felt it was easy to relate to the characters and I felt I was right there with the friend group! There was emotion, angst, and spice that keeps you reading until the very end!
Speaking of I'm going to need 2-3 business days to process that ending because what... you can't just leave us hanging! I need the next book ASAP. There is a book two right?!

This was my first book I read by Jaclin but it definitely won't be my last! I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters!

So this story begins with abusive relationship between mom and a girl named Jaclyn, who is diagnosed by diabetes. Body shaming is the worst! I love the diabetes representation in this book. I hate how her mom behaved with her! She moved out from the place she lived with her mom's and that was the best decision she took! This guy! Hayden! He's such a bully at first! A hot fighter and a bully. Ohhh group project, interesting mhmm... I felt so much real emotions, the library scene made me blush so hard, but there so mamy scenes that made me blush!!i love how there are so many book, song recs in this book! This book had me giggling and crying because no one is gonna love you the way Hayden loves his princess. This book is left on a cliffhanger!

This book felt like a wattpad book came to life and I loved it! This book had me hooked the minute I started it. Hayden Night is a concerning case but I love his soft side, the side only Jaclyn sees🥺 In the first part of the book, I truly wanted to punch him, like jump through the kindle and slap him silly because what is wrong with you?? And then the middle, I was head over heels for this boy!! He may be rough on the edges but thats my grumpy teddybear😍😍My fav colour is morally grey😵💫The way he takes care of her because of her condition, makes sure her sugar is fine, linked her Dexcom to his phone so he will always know from wherever he is...omg that was heartwarming!!!!! And the things he would say to reassure her, compliment her, make her feel like she is the prettiest girl in the world...ughhhh😩❤️❤️ I needed more spicy scenes but the spicy scenese were good nevertheless😩The things I would have Hayden mf Night do to me! But that last part, that "one year later" I need therapy. I was whiplashed so hard I dont think I can function properly. I dont think I will recover. There better be a book 2 because the book CANNOT end like this! I refuse😟‼️

Hayden is one of the biggest asshole mmc’s and I loved every minute of it lol. imagine the amount of times I had said “he’s such an asshole.” but those little things he did for Jaclyn regarding her diabetes was everything.
Jaclyn has been through it. Seeing her constantly fight with herself made me want to give her the biggest hug.
These two go back and forth a lot ngl. It was giving hot n cold by Katy Perry!

I absolutely loved this read. Hayden’s character development was amazing. The ending had me shook. I was not expecting the time jumps and hope we get what happened in between in the following books. I wanna know who the guy talking to Hayden was at the end. What happened in the room with Marco? Where did Jaclyn go? I have so many questions and can’t wait till the next book to get the answers!
I’ve been waiting since Jaclyn announced she was publishing all her books of Wattpad and was the most excited for this series and I’m here for it. I don’t remember too much from the Wattpad versions as I read them awhile ago but I wanna say that this published version is so much better and you can see author development as well which who doesn’t love? This version seems more realistic with Jaclyn being diabetic. The ending felt a bit rushed (the time jumps really through me off) but I think it just leaves so many questions and keeping people hooked for the next book(s)!
Will definitely be buying a physical copy!

I don't know why but I didn't like the book that much. I would give the book 2.5 but I can't on Goodreads so I gave it a three. The book was slow paced. The actual plot was missing. And the book left on the cliffhanger was totally off for me. The book didn't make me feel anything. I was getting conscious as each chapter was finishing. It had a good start in the beginning to which I gave the stars but after half the book it felt like I was reading for just the sake of reading. Though I will read its next book in the series and hope that everything will make sense after that and I might re review the book. Till then the book is not my type and I'm not its. Don't hate me but that's what honest reviews are for.

ARC review: i read this book about 2 years ago when it was on wattpad, and loved it so i already has high expectations before i even started it and boy did it exceeded those expectations. i don’t think i’ve ever related to a fmc so much, i loved everything about jaclyn i will defend her until my last breath and she can do no wrong in my eyes. and the same goes for hayden he is definitely top tier book boyfriend material. the tension, the plot and just the book overall is amazing. i cannot wait to see what the rest of the trilogy entails

I had the pleasure of receive this ARC! I never liked Dark Romance but I gave an opportunity and I’m just IN LOVE with this book, the characters, the all situations it’s just AMAZING.
I’m so in love with this couple and I felt totally inside of the book, i can’t even describe how I loved it!

SPOILER FREE!!!! But oh my word!!!! I was so shocked at the ending all I can say it I need book two if there is one. I’m literally crying like oh my word. There is a connection from the other books of hers so I highly recommend reading them before this book so you make a connection in the last chapter. This book was everything from the enemies to lovers, best friends brother, fighter romance, and slow burn! I absolutely loved this book and give it 5/5 stars ✨

The writing felt a bit off for me, I couldn't read it smoothly. Jaclyn and Hayden were kind of funny. I didn't totally get everything about their attraction to each other. The prologue, for me, was missing more than a few words between them. He saw her cry, told her to stop and then they fought. Hayden threatened Jaclyn and bam they never forgot about each other. I feel like he threatened/was rude to everyone 😅 why was she so special??
The ending was a surprise. I don't know how I didn't expect that. I'm really curious about what happened to Jaclyn. I will read the next book.

I tried but this book wasn’t for me. I don’t know what it was I think maybe the writing and how everything was described but it read a lot like a wattpad novel. I’m not going to talk bad about it it just wasn’t for me but it definitely is the book for other people.
