I wish I had read this book before I went to Greece, it would have helped understand more about the temples, statues, friezes and paintings we saw there. I did feel the author was repetitive in his description, often repeating the same thing in two paragraphs only changing the word order or a word or two. It reminded me of students trying to fill a word count on an essay. I am interested in some of his other myth books in the series but may look at them on Kindle for less money.

More suited for older children. Lots of repetition with 2 similar sentences one after the other on several occasions. Good overview of myths and characters but only touches on the basics.
