While the first two books in this series are good, I absolutely loved this one! Definitely the author's best work yet. Just a few things I enjoyed:
- Fight scenes that take the action up a notch. The final battle between our hero and villain is just *chef's kiss*. So so good!
- More Padric/Brynwen romance. If you're not already rooting for them like Percabeth (IYKYK), you definitely will be.
- Humorous Talfryn moments and lots of fabulous banter between characters
- A twist ending that had me unsure who to trust throughout most of the story. Even some of the safe characters didn't seem so safe.
- The last paragraph. ;)

As a beta reader, I received a free copy, but my review is completely my own.

This was another great entry in this entry, it has that overall feel that I was hoping for from the previous books. The characters felt like they were supposed to and enjoyed the overall storyline going on. It was a great feel for the Rise of the Charioteer series. I can't wait to read more from Susan Laspe.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another fun read in this series that's great for fans of Percy Jackson or Harry Potter. I enjoyed watching the continued romance develop between Brynwen and Padric. There are also some interesting plot twists and characters who aren't always as they seem. I think this book is the best so far in the series.
