Aria’s always the elf at the Christmas picture display in the mall, every year, never missing the opportunity to sadistically enjoy watching people struggle to get through the holidays. It’s her one tradition. A few things are different this year though. She’s been asked to be Mrs. Klaus, and the man who usually plays Santa has gone missing. So, the mall had to improvise and hire the only person who applied; the dark, charming, enticing new guard; Cain. Aria spends weeks with him leading up to Christmas, laughing and flirting, becoming completely enamored with him. But she doesn’t know what’s going on behind her back. She never put two and two together and realized Cain and his two associates got hired to the mall just after the old Santa went missing. And she’s completely unaware that for the past year, the three of them have stayed in town, just for her. Christmas eve, everything changes when they truly introduce themselves to her. They know she’s going to run, but they’re ready to chase her. They’d do anything for her now. -Author’s note- Some holiday stories warm your heart, but this series is aimed a little lower. The Merry F*cking Christmas series entails stories of the darker, kinkier side of Christmas. If you’re looking for a heavy plot with elaborate character development, I could recommend a few of my other books, but the purpose of this series is solely to get your heart beating and keep you warm on a cold winter’s night. -Warning- This is a MFMM dark romance thriller. It contains mature and graphic content that is not suitable for people under 18. Possibly triggering content includes explicit sexual scenes, dubcon, knife play, fear play, physical assaults, praise/degradation kink, gun use, depictions of murder, double penetration, and primal scenes.
Ok I NEED more of these characters! I truly feel like this story just ends and need to know more of what happens between them. This was a dark and delicious book and I loved every second of it.
*Inhales* I just have one question for the author: When are we getting more of these 4 characters?! You can't do this to me Shebly, you can't give me a taste of Micah, Cain, Declan, and Aria and NOT expect me to want (need) more 😩😭
Christmas Fright is absolutely my favorite of the three Merry F***ing Christmas standalone novellas and I am BEGGING the author, please give me more of these characters and their stories 😭🙏 I can't get enough of these absolutely feral men, the incredible tension, and the mind blowing spice. Micah is my boy, and Cain 😭 omg. The chemistry between Cain and Aria is unreal. And I'd be happy to call Declan "Sir" any day 🫠
If you are looking for a super smütty, fast paced, prim@l and k!nky holiday read, this is it. RUN and get this book, you will not be disappointed. This MFMM story has st@lker a$sessions, a helluva chase scene, group play, DP, prim@l, praise, morally grey over-the-top men, and a really awesome FMC. Don't pass on this one, I promise this one will end up in your "favorite reads" folder!!
A sexy twist on Santa and Mrs. Klaus! Three hit men are giving a job to do, take care of the pervie santa Kurt, and protect the kids. Little did they know an elf would sweep them off their feet. Micah (the maniac), Declan, and Cain, all gorgeous and tatted. All serial killers turned stalker, who are twisted by their awful pasts. A year goes by, and guess who's playing Santa and security detail this holiday? The deadly three! Aria is unsuspecting as each one grabs her attention, but Cain has her fancy! As she's required to do his Santa makeup along with her Mrs. Klaus, forcing them to get to know one another. Weeks of shameless flirting and coaxing her toward them. Christmas Eve, all hell breaks loose when Aria gets the courage to ask Cain out, only when she gets there she realizes it's a trap. The three of them have waited too long for her, now they snap in a game of hide and seek in the mall after hours. Realizing Aria herself is just as twisted, did she just find what she was searching for? A spicy novella that will hit all the right places! What to expect.... MMFM, MF, mafia, serial killer, hitmen, obsession, stalker, primal, blood play, murder, ropes/ribbon, bdsm, forced proximity, found family, tension, good girl, knife play, edging, CNC, praise/ degradation!
This was interesting. I wish we had gotten a little more backstory on the characters. It's briefly mentioned, but I feel like I could have understood it a little more. It was a fun read, nonetheless.
Michah is an absolute maniac (like, padded room level), and I loved it. It was funny how obsessed he was with her. I liked that Declan voiced to her why she was perfect for each of them. Literally read it out like it was a resume, and I appreciated that soooo much. Cain, well. All I can say is I love him. Their similarities and differences were very clear, which I also appreciated, considering how short this book is.
It's half plot, half spice, like the spice doesn't actually start until roughly 60% through, but it is also very worth the wait. They are very, very, very obsessed and possessive, and it was very, very hot. I loved the hunter/prey and praise/degradation in this one. They knew she would run, and they were ready to chase.
This book had so much potential, even with it being a short story. If this had another 2/3 chapters where it dived into their backstories more this could’ve been a 5 star read.
I enjoyed the dynamic between them all and how although they did stalk her it didn’t cross the line of following her home and watching her when they shouldn’t have (although they most likely did too). However it did seem that all of a sudden she was fighting for her life and wanting to kill them, but as soon as they admitted to knowing she killed her uncle everything she changed and she quickly submitted.
I think the flash forward scene at the end would’ve been better if they related it back to the beginning where it as Christmas and they were being Father Christmas again, in order to spy on someone and kill them, rather than it seeming like a more ‘formal’ kill scheme now.
Demolished in a night. I can safely say this little novella packed a punch—and for me, it had the perfect balance of plot and spice. Do I want more of this story? Absolutely. I was sad when it ended, but so satisfied with the overall ride. This dark Christmas tale set in a mall is enough to land you straight on Santa’s naughty list. Our MFC, Aria, is more than just lucky—she has a darkness of her own, one that blends perfectly with our three MMCs: Cain, Micah, and Declan. Each one completes her in a different way. Aria can tame Micah, be worshipped by Cain, and find stability with Declan. It’s a small holiday punch with a deadly twist—perfect for the season and quite possibly my new favorite little novella. (And yes… Micah was my favourite because he was completely unhinged 😈😂)
I’m genuinely upset there isn’t another book to go along with this.
I’m not saying the story is incomplete, and like all three books in this series, I’m not technically left wanting. Everything gets tied up (pun intended), the problems get resolved, there’s no holes or rushing through anything more than any other novella I've read. According to my literary degree, this story is complete…BUT I NEED MORE, I would pay just to have her write it.I don’t even need a big plot. I just need these four going on vacation or killing someone. Anything. I want all three of these men and Aria now.
Petition to get a full length novel starting now 🤚🏽
Fright by Shelby Murphy is a gripping, atmospheric thriller that hooks you from the opening chapter and refuses to let go. Murphy builds tension with precision, layering eerie detail and unsettling twists that keep the reader guessing. The characters feel real and flawed, and their emotional stakes elevate the suspense beyond simple scares.
While a few plot threads could have been explored more deeply, the novel’s tight pacing and chilling tone make it a standout read. A compelling, moody thriller that lingers long after the final page.
This book was kindly given to me as an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author for the opportunity.
Well, the more the merrier right? Merrier indeed. Who can say no to three insane hot men who are obsessed with you? Add a bit of Christmas spirit and all your wishes come true. Very funnn
I know I said this with her other 2 Christmas novellas, Shelby knows how to write the primal hunter/prey schmink. She will get your blood pumping and your heart racing! Like, Daayyuumm!
The writing was excellent! She grabbed my attention quickly and I didn’t want to stop reading, it was so good!! It was action packed. The characters are possessive and morally grey. And yummy!
A fun trio of psychos find their queen at Xmas! Chase her through the mall and then create an empire of violence taking out shitty humans!
Of course I love Micah the most cause he’s the unhinged Maniac! Declan is a close second as the methodical Dom sociopath, and then Cain as the lovable psycho
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5 Primal play, knife/blood play, mild bondage, and MURDER!
Holy crap, what a ride! I can not put this book down. If you are into the dark side with some psychos then this will be the perfect book for you! Be prepared those because Micah, Cain, Declan get into your mind you won’t be able to forget them. I’m honestly hoping that maybe the author will give us another story with these characters! Perfect spicy Christmas read!
I adored this short, spicy, why choose, novella. The author touts this holiday book as more spice than substance. I disagree. I found the characters intriguing and likable. The spice fit the story. It totally fit what I looking for. It is dark romance, so check out the tw's. This novella is a great way to read through the holidays!
I feel like this could have had a higher rating if it was a Halloween season rather than Christmas. I would have liked there to be use of Christmas items and stores instead of just bog standard ones. It was still good and very smutty but I found it a bit boring storyline wise and I personally felt that it hardly had any Christmas theme and plot to it apart from the beginning.
This was fun read! It is short and spicy and has a different perspective to Christmas time. The dialogue is witty and these PSJO men are a riot. I love how they got out of their way to get their girl. Enjoyed this
Just finished the last book of the Merry F**king Christmas novella series A Christmas Fright. While this book was short it did have great spice. This series can be read in a day so it’ll be perfect to read while your on a road trip or while hung over after visiting the in-laws.
I absolutely loved this whole book. My favourite of the series. I feel like I need more of the boys' stories, especially Micha's. I love a strong/fierce FMC. Aria is a queen. Their queen. I need more. This wasn't enough, haha.
This was an absolutely amazing story. I don't know if I'll ever be able to look at mall Santas the same way ever again. The characters were all perfect. This has easily made it to the top of my favourite book list!
