Don't get me wrong - this series is super thrilling to me, but how many strange houses that are specifically built for murder purposes can there possibly be?

EN I enjoyed this volume less than the previous ones.

At first, it was really fun to follow all the theories surrounding these mysterious houses, but now it’s starting to feel a bit tiresome. We’re already on the third house being explored, and still not much has been revealed about the bigger mystery behind it all.

It’s still a good read, but I wish the story would move forward a bit more instead of repeating the same formula over and over.

No início, era muito divertido acompanhar todas as teorias em torno destas casas misteriosas, mas agora começa a tornar-se um pouco cansativo. Já vamos na terceira casa analisada e continua sem se revelar muito sobre o grande mistério que está por trás de tudo isto.

Continua a ser uma boa leitura, mas gostava que a história avançasse mais, em vez de estar sempre a repetir a mesma fórmula.

i just read the novel this was based on and somehow i'm enjoying this manga a lot as well?? i guess i am somewhat of a visual person and ngl a lot of setting discriptions have lost me before in books. the mystery of the floor plan in the novel worked out well because i got to see the actual floor plans and there were always parts zoomed in or circled which helped a lot.

i like that in this adaptation it wasn't strictly confined to people sitting down and talking about the floor plan, but small changes were made to make it more visual for the medium. i liked the change of Kurihara explaining the plot to the children who approached them, in a literal explain it like i'm five scenario, which was very cool. or how instead of having Yuzuki remember the floor plan straight away and drawing it out from memory for them, she and protagonist actually went to the house and showed it to Kurihara on video call.

i don't remember who's the one heading to the Katabuchi house at the end of volume 3 so that's gonna be new......

also, i think it's interesting to finally put a face to these characters. i expected Keita and protagonist to be more plain looking but surprisingly not?? Keita looks like a nice guy which i suppose will support the plot later. but to make protagonist androgynous because we don't actually know their gender or any physical descriptors whatsoever??? genius.

it's nice to know what Kurihara looks like though, especially after knowing he was the one who kickstarted Sasaki into looking through the blog at the beginning of Strange Pictures.

september where volume 4 is supposed to be out cannot come sooner.

A bit like vol 2. Just more of the same thing. I expected something different.
Though something interesting does happen in the very last pages, the overall book was just repeating the formula.

No sé si es mi percepción, pero siento que estiraron un poco el chicle en este tomo. Se agradece el desarrollo y las teorías sobre quién pudo haber matado a You pero todo el tomo para eso? Uff, no sé.
Aunque no estuvo tan mal, simplemente siento que no avanzó mucho la trama. Ya veremos cómo concluye esto en el otro tomo.

Im dritten Teil kommt ein drittes mysteriöses Haus dazu, das Haus der Großeltern Katabuchi. 10 Jahre nach dem Tod des Cousins gehen Yuzuki und der Autor den Geheimnissen des Hauses auf die Spur, insbesondere auch den möglichen geheimen Räumen, Gefängnisräumen und Schleichwegen.

Das Buch ist spannend geschrieben und durch die Besichtigung des Hauses vor Ort kommt auch wieder ein bisschen neuer Wind in die Story. Es fühlt sich jetzt mehr an wie ein Murder Mystery.

Se il corpo di questo manga era ormai prevedibile, il finale non lo era affatto, o almeno come avevo ipotizzato la planimetria della casa nella prefettura xxxxx, non ho proprio visto arrivare il finale.
In ogni caso, manga eccezionale. Uketsu si sta dimostrando un genio del(la letteratura) crime e la matita di Kyo ne rappresenta davvero le intenzioni.

Das nächste Rätsel tut sich auf und so begeben sich unsere Protagonisten zum nächsten Ort. Denn auch hier ist etwas seltsames passiert, was sich nicht erklären lässt. Außerdem gibt es keinen Grundriss, also versuchen sie, ihn vor Ort zu erstellen. Und so kommen nach und nach neue Infos ans Licht! Was wiederum neue Fragen aufwirft.. und dann endet der Band an einer ziemlich fiesen Stelle! 😱

While I'm still uncertain if I like or dislike the plot twists; I am quite curious to see where this goes.

The strange house layouts keep getting weirder and this family is definitely more involved than what was initially let on about. I'm so excited for the next volume to see where this murder mystery(?) goes!

I kind of wish I was binge reading this series instead of piecemeal—it feels like hardly anything happened in this volume. The mystery continues to be a mystery. I wasn't really surprised by any of the architectural revelations of this new house (it seems a lot more basic than the previous two).

While this volume is still great, the fact that it ended up being quite predictable, and there are not big revelations in it (or, at least, none that are not plan and house related), means that it gets just the full round 4 stars.

Of course, said predictability probably stems from the fact that the author has done a great job on setting the mystery, so that now is easy to follow, if not anticipate, all the discoveries regarding the structure of the house, based on plans and measurements.

So, basically, what you would expect given how the previous volume ended: a new house with murder intent, and a crime waiting to be solved... ending with sorts of a cliffhanger, since Kurihara seems to have just found out who the culprit in this particular case is?

But we'll have to wait till volume 4 to know more, and see if the series picks up a bit again.

Molto bello! Il viaggio nella casa dei nonni della signorina Katabuchi porta a galla inquietanti segreti sulla dimora stessa: purtroppo non è diversa da quelle di Tokyo e Saitama, ma anzi, il suo stile antico la rende ancora più paurosa.
Comunque, non so come il nostro giornalista riesca a stare dentro la vecchia abitazione a fare congetture al telefono col suo compare senza pensare di mettersi al sicuro. Alla scoperta di tutti quegli orrori nascosti io sarei scappata a gambe levate, visto e considerato che i proprietari della dimora sembrano essersi volatilizzati nel nulla...
Arrivati al terzo volume, La strana casa si è rivelato un mystery thriller horror veramente coinvolgente!

Grundsätzlich ein spannender, atmosphärischer Manga, bei dem man gefesselt auf die Lösungen der Mysterien wartet - allerdings wirken manche Erklärungen weit hergeholt oder so konstruiert, dass sie dadurch an Glaubwürdigkeit verlieren. Das sind z.B. plötzliche Gedankenblitze, Erinnerungen an kleinen Bemerkungen, die bereits Jahrzehnte zurückliegen oder abstrakte Überlegungen, um etwas zu erklären. Das scheint ein beliebtes Stilmittel des Autors zu sein, da mir das bereits in anderen Werken aufgefallen ist. Wer sich daran nicht allzu sehr stört und Interesse an der Prämisse hat, wird mit Strange House sicher zufrieden sein.

I’m REALLY thankful that the manga actually shows how ‘me’ and Kurihara and Yuzuki made a chart to see how one character are related to the other. It shows a better organization on how the plot flows and how one character may or may not have any impact on the other! It also helps the reader to see things clearer and not mixing anyone up.

‘Me’ and Yuzuki are so brave by the way. I would NEVER go back to that house anymore bruh

But now that I see the family house’s infrastructure, the more I feel strongly about how this whole thing has to do with family rituals.

Also, why is Kurihara not joining!! He’s so mysterious

“The Strange House, Vol. 3” - by Uketsu (story) and Kyo Ayano (art) – was just as gripping as the previous volumes. I can’t believe we still have no real idea what’s actually going on after three volumes – it’s crazy, but also so incredibly exciting.I flew through it and at the end was the biggest cliffhanger, I want to know what’s going to happen next ahh.

The mystery keeps building, and I love how unsettling and weird everything feels. The art is still stunning, and I’m really enjoying how the tension is slowly ramping up. I need the next volume ASAP!

First of all, hands down to Kurihara-San. Cause why is he so clever is unravelling the strange floor plans and figuring out who the perpetrator is??? Can't wait to continue with Vol 4 🫨👏👏

The more I read, the more I need.

I am obsessed with this mystery.

Especially because most of it is just speculation. It all feels like an elaborate story that seems like it could be true, but I NEED to know what the deal is with these houses and the mystery.

Quality declining rapidly. This volume felt way too stretched out. It honestly could have been about ten pages. I might read vol 4 and 5 when they come out, but only to speed to the end. Then again, it will likely be disappointing.

This is the 3rd volume in this series and I loved it! It really got onto the creepier side of the story and really explained a lot of it! I enjoyed this volume so much I cannot wait to see where this goes in volume 4!

Soooo good, I couldn't put it down even though I had been busy! I still remember the details from reading the translated novel but this manga adaptation is just so well done! A page-turner, just like the novel itself.

those cliffhangers at the end of each volume are not allowing me to finally take a break from reading. honestly very interesting story. whenever I start feeling like it's far fetched it suddenly has a new turn that makes the story once again believable.
