I grew up in Iowa, where the plains stretch as far as the eye can see and rolling fields of corn lay blanketed beneath eggshell blue skies dotted with clouds as fluffy and thick as pillows. My family was the traditional Midwest breed – we ate sweetcorn by the buckets during summer and spent way too much time shoveling our driveway in the winter. I learned how to swim before I could walk, spent my grade school years building forts and playing kickball with the boys on my street, and annoyed my mother to no end by spending more time reading than I did caring about my hair, clothes, boys, etc. I’ve wanted to be an author since I was four years old and now, after thirty odd years, am finally honoring that little girl’s dream. I currently live in the Pacific Northwest – a beautiful and rugged corner of the world – but spend most of my days dreaming of a move back to Iowa. My first job really was in an auto parts store, and I thank all of my co-workers for instilling in me a love of raunchy humor and a sarcastic wit that knows no measure. I have one husband and one dog who is beyond spoiled. (The dog, not the spouse.) I believe aliens built the pyramids or, at the very least, showed someone how to do it. I mean, really people… Look at the evidence.

It’s my firm belief that people can be anything they want to be. And it’s my hope that, as the years pass, we see more of our fellow humans stepping out of their comfort zones and living the life of their dreams.

It had been ages since a book pulled me in so intensely, making me want to toss aside all adult responsibilities just to stay up all night, completely lost in its pages.

I simply couldn’t put it down!

Wicked, wicked, wicked! The storyline is deliciously twisted, and the characters are so well developed—solid and captivating.

It’s easily one of the best books I’ve read this year. I’m holding back half star 5 stars because the ending felt a bit rushed.

2 POV's of the two women who were raised in foster care since teenagers. Paige and Alexis

-Suspense
-Cheating between Alexis and Paige's Fiancee
-Paige is attracted to someone else that Alexis is also having sex with

You can tell Alexis is jealous of the Paige and almost hates her but as you go through the book also in love with her.

The ending felt rushed. I would have rather seen some type of confrontation between Paige and her ex fiancee when she finds out about the cheating. Would have also liked an some type of epilogu

Deliciously dark and twisted ☠️ Solstice is a prime example of Lisa Sorbe’s ability to pull you into her incredible storytelling and character development. This one is a page turner with a jaw dropping ending. Already can’t wait to get my hands on her next one!

Talk about a good book. “Solstice is divided into two parts: the rich and the not even close. But while the land is split, the people that live on it aren’t. They mix and mingle, using each other like pawns- the rich get richer and the not-so-rich becoming… well… something else.” This book starts off a bang that draws you in, curious at who just died. It sets this suspense tone on the book & I lived for every moment. I easily devoured close to 200 pages once I really locked in. I really like how the author gives us insight on how the book will end from the very beginning. & then it starts taking you from the past until you reach present situation. It was a wild ride forsure. Less than 50pgs in & I was already gasping bc of all the shocking info being displayed to us. Forever cherishing this read because wow

Unexpected gem

There are books you wait for months to be released, and then there are books like this one - an unexpected find but so riveting from the very page you find yourself gasping for breath while scratching your head trying to remember just where and how it ended up in your library. My honest answer is - I have no idea. But I am so delighted I have come across this novel - it’s absolutely gorgeous.

All the suspense, the mystery, the heat, the more twisted and darker moments, the characters and how they intertwine in ways that leaves you wondering just what is going on..

A little anticlimactic and predictable towards the end, but 80% was a spectacular read. Highly recommend.
