Everyone knows that the dark forest of Blackmoor has monsters… but what about demons? When I’m given the opportunity to petition a “wish” from the Blackmoor council, I’m not so sure I believe in magic—but I’m desperate enough for an escape from my current life to give it a try. Besides, I’m a kick-ass survivalist with a can-do attitude. Despite the rumors and the stories about this “magical” place, there isn’t anything in the woods that I can’t handle.
Tell that the the toothy little gnomes that attack my first night in…
At least, that’s what I call them. Because if I admitted what they really are—freaking Christmas elves—I might just think better about spending my holidays in the dark, snowy woods.
With only the clothes on my back and the fruit the Blackmoor council gave me, I decide to find shelter to hunker down and make it through my three days in peace—until those damn elves attack again, intent on bringing me to a ominous man known only as the Toymaster.
But before those creeps can, another demon steps out of the woods, frightening off the elves and scaring the crap out of me.
Krampus is more than six feet tall—not counting his horns—and he looks like he could snap me in half… and that’s if he doesn’t trap me in the chains he has clutched between his claws.
Of course, after he saves me only to take me for himself, I spend Christmas Eve with Krampus—and those very same chains.
But that’s Christmas Eve.
What happens on Christmas? What happens when the Toymaster comes searching for me himself?
And, most importantly, what happens when my three days are done?
So I will admit that the lore and story flowed a little better than the first book, but it seemed like it was rushed since there were TONS more editing and spelling mistakes in this book. Several times I found myself just confused on the dialogue, or couldn't get into the pacing because it did need much more revisions.
It didn't stop me from still having a fun time with this, and you can easily finish this book in a day. I once again am giggling at the author inserting food themes with the monster dicks.
I will say I appreciate that she didn't make Krampus have a 15in penis, though I could have done without Santa being involved. Or at least maybe reworked into the story in a different way since his character didn't really seem to add or do much.
They say don’t judge a book by its cover and, in this instance, that saying is true. The chain, the look of her trying to get away, the monster lore of Krampus being the rougher lover of a darker story most of these holiday tales have become… this isn’t one of them, in a very good way. It is honestly a sweet tale that gives you all the warm vibes and sighs. A cozy love story, if nothing else. And one I fully enjoyed.
Okay, I had basically 0 expectations, and I just wanted a fast Christmasy read and found this on my Kindle. But this was such an interesting and sweet Christmas read. So different, and I loved it. Even though it was short, I felt satisfied with the ending. Usually, I crave for more. Though, I could have easily continued on reading, was the story more longer, but I was satisfied. I honestly now want to read about the Toymaker too, even though I hated him in the book.
I liked how Sarah took Krampus’ story into another level. I just learned earlier this month about the Krampus myth, and this was just a circle moment for me. Definitely recommend this holiday novella. 🥰 He was just unexpectedly sweet to Josie.
5 stars because vibes. This one was so much better than the first in my opinion. Of course it’s mainly smut with little plot. It was a cute little holiday read that I couldn’t honestly put down. Like the first one we have a competition to stay in the woods for 3 days and if you survive you get a wish. There is some strange magic in these woods always. The lore was fun and really it was just a fun read if you don’t expect much. I’m honestly probably gonna continue the stories because I’m having the best time.
This book was even better than the first one! Spicy and sweet monster smut for the holidays! I really like the magic and mystery of Blackmoor, and I look forward to learning more about all the different beats that live there!
This was so fun! Loved the lore and will definitely be reading more of this Blackmoor series! Ruprecht was adorable like wanting to protect Josie but doing it in funny ways and he’s just a big softy🥹
Krampus was such a sweet and kind beastie, Santa on the other hand 😬. I've not seen him portrayed in this way before and it was rather uncomfortable and disturbing.
Similar to book 1, we have a young lady that needs her dream fulfilled. In this case, due to an accident, Josie is in chronic pain and is hoping to be able to earn the wish to make it go away.
She gets caught by a bunch of elves shortly after entering, and they insist she be taken to their boss, the Toymaker. Luckily she is saved by Krampus, who vows to keep her safe. It was a fun twist on the holiday lore.
This series has been a lot of fun with the fairytale twist with a bit of spiciness. I’m excited to check out the rest of the series.
