A Whirlwind of Loss and Ruin
Twenty-three year old Aella Clarke suffers from sleep paralysis. Her daily struggles of wanting to be a normal adult, alongside coping with her condition, are short-lived when a being from another realm visits her during one of her episodes. Soon after, she learns that this burden she has been carrying most of her life is, in fact, a gift with the ability to open portals into other realms.
The battle has just begun with both internal and external forces, however. The pressure to hone in on suppressing such a gift, preventing another war between the realms, and choosing to love herself above all is just the tip of the iceberg. Thrown into unveiling her true purpose paves a spellbinding journey that doesn’t come without any consequence. The natural order of things has been corrupted long before her birth, and it is up to Aella to save the realms from a fate far worse than what has been told.

Like most of her art, Samantha has taken an interest in writing based on dreams she has by turning them into literary works of art for the reader to paint their own picture.
Born in sunny Arizona, Samantha now lives in the Pacific Northwest with her partner and her two small partners in crime, Bodhi and Jude (the loves of her life).

Summary: Great story, intriguing conceptually, full of twists and will keep you turning pages wanting to know how it resolves.
A Whirlwind of Loss and Ruin is a thrilling adventure following the story of Aella, who suffers with sleep paralysis. Soon enough she finds that, instead of the condition limiting her, there is a whole different world for her to become unlimited in. Her development is crucial and her abilities need to be trained and strengthened to fulfil her destiny.
The story is fast paced, full of adrenalin and has multiple plot twists. I'm left wondering who her true love interest is at the end of the first book; all is not as it seems and I suspect more twists in book 2.
Betrayal comes at a huge personal cost to Aella and some of the divergent paths within the story are completely unexpected and keep you turning the pages.
Knowing that the story has been left on a cliff hanger has me eagerly waiting for book 2, so I can continue to follow the progress of these curious and wonderful characters. I have a soft spot for Cahtel and hope book 2 releases him!
Samantha is an intriguing writer and I wish her every success with anything she writes and hope to see much more of her work in the future.

When I say I DEVOURED this book. There’s a perfect combination of fantasy, romance, and self discovery. I couldn’t put this book down. I was captivated by the character depth and the ending leaves you begging for more. 10/5 stars ⭐️ I need book 2 asap!

It was not my normal genre, but after three pages, I was hooked.
Very intriguing, faced paced. It's not the ending I expected. It left me in suspense with unanswered questions. Obviously, more to come, can't wait.
