IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE READ A "BUT NOT" BOOK. I HAD FINISHED READING ALL BUT 30-33 I WAS SAVING THEM BECAUSE IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES. SO, TODAY I'M TREATING MYSELF. THE WORLD SEEMINGLY HAS GONE MAD I NEED TO ENJOY SOMETHING. THIS IS MY CHOICE. AHHHHH! I FINISHED Page 29 OMG I REALLY NEEDED THIS. THIS DIDN'T DISSAPOINT! ;D
Talk about twists. This book had more than its share. It was also darker than most (if not all) prior installments.
The story is divided into two parts. The first is local, and we spend a lot of time with Melvin, which I always enjoy. He’s working a burglary (or series of them) while Clint is working a gruesome double homicide. These crimes, like most plots and subplots in this series, intersect, but not in a way you’d expect. The second half is spent out of state, and Clint’s ally was as fun and feisty as Amy. The force they fight? This was one of the most powerful villains we’ve seen in this series, and the violence was pretty remarkable. I know I won’t forget the first or last of those scenes. They’re not only graphic. They’re a rather potent mirror of each other.
In my review of the last book, I mentioned a new officer and his own personal enemy. The two barely saw page time in this story, but we saw enough to know this antagonist isn’t going anywhere. Given all I mentioned (and a lot I didn’t say), I can’t wait for the next installment.
This murder mystery takes you away from Merchant Loupe. Clint is on the trail of a cop killer. We deal new characters are introduced since he is working with a different police department. Some very brutal scene and a shoot make police work as hard as it is. Some reality check in how little a gun matters in close contact. A few red herrings along the way keep you guessing. After the sadness of a cop funeral, the light hearted last scene and double untaundra makes for a humorous ending.
I loved this book just as much as the previous ones in this series. It was very well written and kept me on the edge of my seat while reading. I was very shocked and surprised at the ending and those involved. Still a very good read and would highly recommend it.
Cling was in the bayou to go fishing when he noticed open doors to several camps. Upon inspection, he four that burglaries had occurred. Searching further Achilles barked indicated trouble. A nightmare crime scene met him in the cabin. Many twists and turns with a surprise ending.
Another excellent read! I don’t know how he does it, but each story is totally riveting! Book 30 and still tops! You definitely can’t go wrong with a BJ Borg book! I highly recommend !
Once again has Mr Blush produced a book well worth reading. I am delighted to have found him and look forward to continue to read him as long as he's continuing to produce.
OMG. This is a great Clint Wolf book. They get better every time. This book is a ten star book . I could not put this book down . Keep this series going . It is one of the best series that I read. I very highly recommend this book and series. One of the best.
Excellent read . . . but BLOODIER than usual. CONTENT WARNING: Explicit scene(s) featuring human anatomical organs and handling/mishandling of same. If you have a tender tummy AND a vivid imagination, you may wish to ask a book buddy to “preview” chapter 54.
Loved the book, I always think I know how it’s going to end but I’m always surprised. I have read every Clint Wolf book and I am never disappointed. I hope Bj continues to write a million more Clint W. Books.
My wife and I have both read the entire series and it is indeed one of our very favorites! Blending mystery, family, and feeling a part of everything is a true reader's dream come true.
I have enjoyed this authors books in the past but this one was just too explicit and brutal for me. I will have to reconsider this author in the future I’m sorry to say.
Totally love this series and I am anxiously awaiting book #31. Now I am starting the London Carter Mysteries. Have finished book 1 and ready to start book #2. Thanks for books that are awesome and keep writing please!!
This was another wonderful story about the life of Clint Wolf and his family. I feel a part the police department and his family as I read each story. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire book. It’s a must read!
Intense! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I swear I could smell the seaboard of Louisiana throughout the entire book - it's that engaging and atmospheric.
Been waiting and waiting for the arrival of this latest addition to the series. Now, let’s get it over with - awesome! possibly the best of the entire series. You’re in for a treat !
This was definitely a page turner. A Crime that cross state line and involve law enforcement officers. The story line was well written. Character introduction was well written. You would guess who killed this couple and why. Good Read.
A fast paced mystery with many twist and turns. Well crafted story line and familiar characters as well as some new ones. Clint must travel to another state to investigate a double murder.
This was a good one. I have become so invested in these characters. This was a difficult murder mystery to read. However, the journey to Clint and his team figuring it out was interesting and engrossing. I enjoyed the new characters and setting in this installment as well.
As always absolutely riveting, it was devastating to find out that a group of your own are bad and can kill a fellow cop just to cover up their crimes, it’s sickening.
Good to reacquaint with Wolf and the rest of his crew. Always an adventure when one reads these novels. Looking forward to the next adventure. Highly recommend.
