This story starts off hot and gets right to the point and is quite refreshing. The author's writing style is fun, easy to follow, and getting immersed within the story. I love the banter Sophia and Daniel have. They may have thought they hated each other (or at least Sophia thought so) growing up but there most definitely had to have been something else there as well...at least a good share of the time.
Daniel and Sophia have known each other pretty much all their lives as they grew up right next door to each other and Daniel was and still is Sophia's older brother Jay's best friend. Jay and Sophia are very close but it's fun to hear how they gave each other such a hard time growing up, like most typical brothers and sisters do.
Sophia is an independent, good-hearted person who is working super hard in her nursing career still finding it difficult to reach her goal of attending medical school at the current rate she's going.
Daniel has achieved great success in his military career as a Navy SEAL but finds that his next promotion is just beyond his reach. The military seems to have taught him so many good habits and Sophia is surprised to see how mature, organized, thoughtful, and even handy around the house he's become.
Some forces try to get in between the two and their fake/not-fake relationship but ultimately no one and no natural disaster can penetrate this budding love story.
This is a happily ever after, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, fake engagement, accidental pregnancy story about a hot Navy SEAL and an ER Nurse. It's a page-turner, feel-good, and steamy romance that is good enough for the five-star review rating I'm giving it!.
