Giarrusso applies his humorous take on the Marvel universe. His short 3 panel 'mini marvels' strips have been expanded here, as he presents the superheroes of the MU as children, but with all of their powers.
Although this is titled after the Jade Giant, only about half the book is Hulk related. Largely delivering his version of World War Hulk, with a few other associated tales, the rest of the book is filled with other character stories, with Hawkeye featuring the most heavily. There is a lot to like here, but also a fair bit of padding. Not all of the stories land, and when Giarruso is forced to write wholly original stories, rather than his amusing pastiches of well known tales, they can drag. While you could argue this is a book meant for younger readers, it is referencing a lot of more mature stories that a young audience likely won't have a reference for, so it's hard to see who the target audience really is. That said this is still a fun collection and peppered with some great comedic pokes of famous marvel moments.
