Dysphoria: A Collection of Poetry

Rate this book
"Dysphoria" is a collection of poetry about exploring the deepest parts of the human form, learning how to cope with betrayal and heartbreak.
This collection of poetry consists of eighty poems that were written during one of the most challenging times a person could have - coping with the loss of the old version of yourself. The author says goodbye to the deceased archetype of themselves and takes on the world through a new set of eyes, while wearing a different set of armor.

Another fantastic book from a fantastic writer, the poems in this collection are powerful and full of emotion. The author was not hesitant to expose his vulnerabilities, effectively baring his soul to the world and discussing difficult topics, such as betrayal, grief, sadness, and abandonment. It was like reading a diary full of personal experiences and sorrows.

This was a completely different poetry I read this year. It gives an insight into the poets life. It convinces the readers that not everything can be perfect. There will be times when you'll hate your life, there will be times when you'll be filled with hope and optimism. I loved the writing style! The poems were short. I was able to connect well with the poet.

My favourite poems, out of these 80 were Friends Dropping Like Flies (this was so relatable!), Not Normal, My Moon and I Hated My Reflection.

Those who are ready to read a sad, yet hopeful and introspective collection of poetry, this one is perfect for you.
