Three years after emerging from cryosleep, the survivors of the apocalypse don’t always agree on the best way to live together. Joanna and Levi travel between the bunker communities, fostering cooperation and trying to prevent conflicts. It’s harder than it looks.
Just when Joanna thinks they’re making progress, she learns a cohort is missing.
The bunker’s nearest neighbors claim the inhabitants never woke up from cryosleep, but they might be lying. Joanna and Levi set out to find the missing cohort and uncover the truth. What they discover could spell disaster for every settlement in the country.
Meanwhile, a young survivor called Kate discovers that her isolated community isn’t as idyllic as she thought. She must break free if she has any hope of saving her home.
It turns out Utopia is a moving target.

Review: Compared to the rest of this series, this book was a little disappointing. It was hard for me to get into, it seemed like certain things went by too fast, and I didn't really connect to our newer characters. The only thing that I really enjoyed about this book is that we see how cute Levi and Joanna are. Even then, we didn't get many of these cute scenes.
I loved returning to this series and checking in with everyone and seeing what was up. Get to join Joanna and Levi as they travel to discover what is up with a 'missing' bunker. I was glued to the end to see what secrets and surprises were in store for them. Some drama and suspense and guessing on my part as to what might be going on. Loved it.
I was happily surprised when I found that a book 4 was published in this series. Even though I thought that the third book satisfactorily wrapped up the story, I was happy to learn that there was more to tell. It was fantastic to catch up with my two favorite post-apocalypse characters and to explore more of this new world.
What happened? Old friendships were revisited and strengthened; off-scene friendships were renewed and challenged; new friendships were developed but not without their own obstacles. Greed, corruption and totalitarianism followed the survivors from their past and these weaknesses along with cult behavior and mob mentality are faults that should have been eradicated with the comet but, sadly, were not.
I really enjoyed this latest installment and hope we see more of Joanna and Levi's travels and adventures and this new world in the future.
4 ⭐️ I’d eat up any book that takes place in this world and this was no exception. I love that Jordan shows a new form of sheep mentality and how it can turn into something dangerous in such different ways with different perspectives. Kate was an intriguing character too I felt like she was almost a mix of Charlotte and Joanna which made for a good narrative as she didn’t want to become a leader. I was ofc happy to see Joanna again as she’s one of my all time favourite characters and to see more of her and Levis relationship blossoming was so satisfying. I would’ve liked to see the Dallas cohort trying to conquer everyone as I think it’d be an interesting story and a good way to show humanity following the same old steps but I guess it was too similar to the previous books I just don’t enjoy reading an epilogue as a conclusion.
"Rescue Me From Paradise," the fourth book in Jordan Rivet's post-apocalyptic Bunker series, is a thrilling continuation and fitting conclusion to an outstanding collection. This installment lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors, delivering a fast-paced and exhilarating read that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
Returning to the series feels like reuniting with old friends as we join Joanna and Levi on their quest to uncover the mysteries surrounding a missing bunker. The suspense and drama are palpable, and the plot is filled with unpredictable twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. Told from dual perspectives, the narrative offers a deeper understanding of the characters' motivations and struggles.
As envoys, Joanna and Levi navigate a world where allies can become enemies and foes may turn into friends. Their mission to promote peace among the factions is fraught with challenges, and the lines between right and wrong blur in this dystopian landscape. Meanwhile, Kate's story adds an extra layer of intrigue and complexity, pushing the boundaries of reality and challenging your perceptions.
The characters are vividly portrayed, making them come alive on the page. Kate's transformation and Mrs. Templeton's extreme beliefs highlight the consequences of a society gone astray. The action is relentless, with moments of tension that leave you on the edge of your seat. The book doesn't shy away from exploring dark themes, questioning how far individuals will go for their convictions and the cost of change.
Overall, "Rescue Me From Paradise" is a powerful and engaging novel that serves as a strong finale to an inspirational series. It's a must-read for fans of dystopian fiction, offering a gripping story with well-developed characters and a thought-provoking narrative.
Rescue Me From Paradise, by Jordan Rivet, is the 4th book in her post apocalyptic Bunker series, and a fitting tribute and finale to an amazing collection. This final installment is by far the best one of the series. It's a rollercoaster ride, filled with twists and turns, new and old cohorts, friends and foes and so much adventure you will be on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The storyline is fast-paced, very well written, and told from a dual POV for more depth. While Joanna and Levi continue their mission as envoys, they encounter some friends turned foes and foes turned friends, making it hard to know who to trust as they try to spread peace between the cohorts. Kate has her own story to tell that will blow your mind and shake your definition of reality. As the three merge the fireworks really start, and don't stop until a new reality for them all emerges. The characters are so well developed that each one comes alive in such a way as to make the story almost three dimensional. Kate in particular is a very compelling person, caught up in a fight that will alter her forever. Mrs. Templeton is another one who stands out through her beliefs and actions. But how far is too far when those beliefs cause actions that no longer dwell in sanity? Cult-like society results, punishments get passed, lines are crossed, but who is going to be held responsible? How many must die for change to occur? Can Joanna and Levi influence a society so far off the rails with their talks of peace and harmony? Overall, Rescue Me From Paradise is a moving novel, sure to affect you as you read the plight of these struggling cohorts. It is definitely a strong finish for a truly inspirational series!
Absolutely thrilled to revisit the Bunker world! I was so excited when Jordan announced we'd get another Joanna and Levi adventure and she did not disappoint! 🤩 Granted I wanted a smidge MORE Levi but....they 🤭 I loved seeing Joanna and Levi as an established couple. How they fed off each other's energy and read each other's cue. How they had each other's backs and didn't hesitate to express their love for each other 🥰 I honestly couldn't get enough of them. I almost wanted to 4 star because Sylvie and their other allies were annoying me with their treatment of the peace envoys but....had to remind myself this is a dystopian world and those types of situations were bound to happen. Wasn't surprised it was Texas getting all weapon happy 😂 Our new MC, Kate, was living quite a scary situation too 😳 Didn't much like her cohort but Jordan did a VERY good job with research because you could see the cult foundation and build up and mob mentality. So well written! So believable and scary. With allies turning enemies and enemies turning friends, Joanna and Levi had to really watch their backs. Got to see Levi in action and Joanna's diplomacy at work again as she helped Kate! So happy Jordan decided to give us more and can't wait to see Joanna, Levi, Elijah and Kate in future Bunker novels 😍
Levi and Joanna are still roaming the country, trying to bring peace to the other bunkers and see if they can help each other survive. They learn from the Sanford bunker that Houston's bunker is missing. And they discover that not all bunkers are as friendly as they seem
Meanwhile, Kate, who is from the Houston bunker, is starting to realise her new home island is no longer the Paradise she believes it to be.
I enjoyed Kate as a character. I could see why she would take a while to realise how bad her utopia is supposed to be, going from her trauma learning that she isn't going to be alive because of the comet and then all of a sudden getting that reprieve. That trauma would have been bad enough, but then you have the outsiders trying to gain access to her cryosleep chambers, which would allow people to manipulate them.
The only slight downside of the book is how it ended, I would have loved to find out how all of the bunkers have survived and what became of them. That aside, it was a good series overall.
I feel the third and fourth books are generally similar, travelling to other bunkers and trying to become friends. The only difference is what happens. But I still enjoyed the characters, so I gave it five stars.
Rescue Me from Paradise Bunker #4 Post-apocalyptic Jordan Rivet ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved the previous 3 books in this series but I was surprised, and excited, to see that a 4th one had been released!
I loved the world building. Getting to explore the new places alongside the characters was great, especially with the different schemes and the rising tensions. I liked reading how other cohorts/bunkers managed to survive, too.
Levi and Joanna were, as always, lovely characters. They work so well together and they really do compliment each other when it comes to communicating with the other groups.
Kate was a nice addition too. I liked having a fresh POV and I understood her struggle to fight free from the island and the cult-like leader.
I'd like to see Kate and Elijah's relationship develop more. They're just friends at the end of the book but there is a spark between them, too.
I'm very curious about whether the group in Dallas will try to overthrow other groups as they continue to want more power.
I hope there is another book in the works because this is such a good series!
This review is for the entire series that's out thus far, (4 books total). The series revolves around a select lucky few who managed to either buy, fight, or otherwise get their way into an exclusive bunker program, humanities last shot at continuing past its time. I loved how the author incorporated different areas of the United States (shout out to BH of SD lol!) all with its different struggles, trials, and tribulations. I inhaled this entire series within a few days, never quite wanting to put the book down, always wanting to see where Johanna ended up. There are a few things of course that didn't make sense, like how people were able to get crude fuel refineries up and running in just a few short years. But it is a work of fiction, so honestly I didn't expect it to be 100% accurate. I loved Johanna and Levi working together as peace envoys, even if the other bunkers didn't see them as such. I feel as though it gave it a sense of realism that's to be expected with the end of the world. I hope the author comes out with more books in this series.
Good pick up/review from first book, but very repetitive on how Joanna wanted all the bunkers to get along Surviving is hard enough without making enemies Levi and Joanna head to Texas to see what happened to Houston cohort Kate in Galveston island - must be the Houston cohort- living in paradise strictly controlled by Mrs templeton - just removed her friend Winona who was trying to escape to rest of world Rhubarb pie for dessert! Joanna wondered to herself why Dallas and San Antonio and Carlsbad would want to break away from Midwest network - duh everything in Texas is bigger? Independent country at one point? See if this is confirmed. “They ought to be able to found a society on the simple notion that people shouldn’t hurt each other.”
Another great bunker book! The main trilogy was probably my favorite, but the work of building a new world after the apocalypse never stops. I love Joanna and seeing her and Levi on another adventure was fun. And meeting Kate and getting a bit of a dystopian twist on the world was good too. This was a little less apocalypse and a little more dystopian than I expected/than the other books were but it was a good read and it's fun to keep exploring this world.
Joanna didn't necessarily have a character arcs in the same way she did in the previous books - that was more of Kate's realm this time. I still enjoyed it, but Joanna is my favorite and I wished she'd had more of a chance to keep growing and changing rather than helping Kate grow and change only.
Jordan Rivet's latest installment in the Bunker series, "Rescue Me From Paradise," is a gripping blend of intrigue and tension. The narrative follows Joanna and Levi as they journey to Texas, investigating rumors about the supposedly destroyed Houston Cohort after the comet strike. Despite signals suggesting survival, the Dallas Cohort denies it, raising suspicions.
Simultaneously, on the former Galveston Island, a young survivor grapples with her cohort's directive of non-violence. As the definition of violence becomes increasingly ambiguous, Kate feels an urgent need to escape the island, now ominously named Paradise, despite the strict prohibition on leaving.
Ms. Rivet masterfully interweaves these parallel stories into a tapestry of intrigue, misguided intentions, and a nail-biting climax. Though the book starts off a bit slow, it quickly gains momentum, becoming hard to put down as the plot thickens. This tale of future survival underscores the sobering possibility that humanity might repeat past mistakes, even with a fresh start.
Well, I've read all four books and I must say they were really good. Loved the characters mostly because they're a bunch of young people that really have no worldly experience and have to figure out how to survive. Each group is coming from a bunker after a comet strikes the earth and they have all been in cyrosleep for 200 years. When they wake up, each group realizes they need something from the other cohorts to survive and they need to figure out how to go about getting those resources without resorting to the old world way of using violence and force. Definitely worth the time, and the story was very well written!!
The mantra of no violence is good but if someone becomes violent you need to protect yourself and loved ones! Sticking your head in the sand and pretending humanity is inherently good is foolish! There is still evil in this world. The main character, Katie, was faced with a huge philosophical and theological crisis as her Paradise blindly followed a leader who was not thinking! Faith is good but common sense in light of real world disasters is not to be ignored. I enjoyed the heart of this novel!
I finished the last book on New Year’s Eve, 2024. I’m left wondering if the “cohorts” across our country can forge peace from chaos, and equality from prejudice. Only time will tell. I hope we never face the choices the characters in this series had to make. May we make the right, fair, and best decisions for a bright, prosperous and peaceful future.
This series is so much fun. I loved Kate in this book and look forward to hearing an update from her in the next book.
Johanna is still my favorite. Her kindness. Her endurance. Her strength. She’s a beautiful human. I can’t wait to see where she goes in this beautiful and dangerous world that she lives in.
The last book in the series was a good one. We are introduced to Kate, a survivor in an island community. All the gang gets back together for a final time. Like real life, we aren’t told what the future holds but we are left with enough clues to realize that although everything might not go smoothly, the future has a good chance of being better than the past.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and was sad to see it end. I will say that this last book, while good, just didn't have the same punch. Joanna has been my favorite character throughout, followed by Levi. I wish their part had finished out stronger for the ending of the series. Great series, though.
This book is action-packed and filled with excellently written characters. I was surprised and excited to see another installment in this series. I definitely recommend this book and author! Thanks!
The story of rebuilding the world continues. Well developed characters and the story of a new bunker and its survivors. Hopefully no the last story in the series.
I thought this was the weakest of the series, but that is because I'm not interested in reading about cults/cultish behavior. The story was still told in a clear way, but I did find that I skipped some parts because of repetition.
Just finished this series in under a month and was pleased with how it turned out! Very engaging and I liked the character development of Joanna and the new girl Kate. She grew up quickly.
Joanna's storyline was slow to get going, and despite building tension towards the end, the main plot cut off abruptly to be summarised in the epilogue, but apart from that, I still enjoyed the story.
Loved getting to revisit Joanna's world. And seeing how yet another bunker handled the Apocalypse. Excellent exploration of violence and the importance of meaning.
