I enjoyed this book so much! Partly because it’s been a while since I saw these scenes, so it felt relatively fresh, and partly because it had Dazai and Chuuya in it. They’re so hilarious together!

Quote time! (Sorry for the all caps, I’m lazy and didn’t want to type it myself, so this is how it came out)

Chuuya: “HEY! AT LEAST TELL ME WHERE THE HELL WE'RE GOING ALREADY !!”
Dazai: “AHH, THE WEATHER'S SO BEAUTIFUL TODAY! WHY, IT'S SO LOVELY, I CAN HEAR THE VOICES OF FAIRIES IN THE AIR!”

Dazai: “THAT'S WHY I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.” (To Chuuya

Dazai: “WHAT A MESS. IF I HAD BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT, I BET I COULD HAVE HAD A PAINLESS DEATH.”

This was soooo gay.

Dazai and Chuuya are working on the case of mysterious explosions and if the old mafia boss is back from the dead.

I love them so much, omg.😭 I think Dazai has a thing for Chuuya yelling at him because he does the most just to get a reaction and then goes 😏 when Chuuya reacts. Dazai is lowkey a freak fr.

The art is amazing. The vibe is so dark and while sometimes it's hard to tell wtf is going on during action scenes, I wouldn't have it any other way.

The way they just look so young because they were young kills me. But also the art style makes them look so cute, I just wanna give them headpats.

They are also so deranged like they matched each other's freak so well??

The story itself and the investigation is confusing to my dumbass but I am very intrigued.

So good! Little Chuuya is not that much different from older Chuuya haha. I always forget just how twisted and dark Dazai can be, I do hope we'll get his entire backstory at some point. Low-key relate to Randou being cold all the time. Art is still awesome, loved the arcade scene!

This volume really said 'lets make Dazai look as innocent as possible' and I am here for it. The sparkles in his eyes during "That's what makes me love you so much!"?!? the CROCODILE TEARS?? His happiness when describing the trap he set for Chuuya???? HE IS SUCH A MENACE.

Also I do not care if he is manipulating Chuuya atp because 1) he manipulates everyone he meets soooo it's nothing personal 2) "Chuuya-kun has the right to decide how he uses his skill himself" :)

Once again I'm so obsessed with Hoshikawa's style and disappointed with how lackluster/bland the Bones arc was in comparison to this. They left out so much 💔

I’m going to be praising Hoshikawa’s art the entire time but they really showcase Dazai and Chuuya so well. Dazai is absolutely terrifying, really earning his reputation that the anime tends to ignore, and Chuuya’s internal struggle with the Sheep is showcased with all of these expressions he is making

There's not much for me to say about this series, I'm endeared to it and there's not a lot that's going to stop me from continuing it at this point. Strong middle volume, there's only one left in the set and I like the art here quite a bit!
