I’ll say it once, and I’ll say it always: rating poetry never feels right. Ever. I’ve read many books by this author and I always enjoy them. I got a glimpse of her heart, of her cozy beautiful heart, and it was lovely.
I especially liked, because I’m old school, how some of the poetry in this book rhymed. I always feel my heart patter at the rhythm of the poetry, and it’s an amazing feeling.

This was so wonderful. Nostalgic & cozy, covering topics of breakups of friends and loves, self worth, grief, appreciating the time we have, gratitude, slowing down, and noticing the small things in life. Had me tearing up a few times!

As per usual Jennae wrote a 5 star book. I always feel so understood and seen when I read the poetry that she writes. I love the vibe of this book a lot and the cover and name really just fit the vibe of the poetry. So glad to have this book as a new addition to my Jennae Cecelia collection!

This book gave me the same hope, yearning for self-love, reminders to slow down and make time for mental health “Me” days, and nostalgia that I felt reading my first (and favorite) book by Jennae, “the sun will rise and so will we”. An instant favorite staple on my bookcase for those days I need a cry, or just to remember my self-worth and the healing I have done over the last few years 💛

This actually wasn’t my favorite poetry collection of Jennae Cecelia’s. For a book that promises coziness, this didn’t deliver what I had hoped it would. This could also just be a personal preference of mine, but it leaned a bit too heavily into relationships, which isn’t exactly my favorite subject for poetry. There were, however, still some gems to be found, so I’ll leave one below:

¡ wasn't always this quiet you know.
i used to talk louder
and be the first to volunteer my thoughts.
my diary wasn't the only one to hear
what was dancing in my head.
i used to talk about my pain
and not hide it instead.
but somewhere along the way,
i stopped letting my voice be heard.
i am trying to find her again,
but i am being gentle with her.

Each of the poems were very simple & relatable & many were very positive, a nice reprieve. With an emphasis on focusing on the present moment, I felt the pent up anxiety leaving my body with each line of reassurance that we only have to live for the now and the rest can simply wait.

No, it isn’t the most profound poetry I’ve ever read, but it made me feel really good when I read it. This book of poetry has inspired me to attempt to write some positive poetry of my own, rather than focusing on the doom and gloom.

“come be cozy. grab a mug. fill it with a warm drink that you love. take a deep breath. maybe your first one all day. come be cozy. you deserve a safe place.”

This made me want to call my mom, message my old best friend, and cuddle up with a cup of tea to read my favorite book.

Another great poetry book from Jennae. She invites us to come be cozy with her, and to embrace the love, and sometimes the heartbreak that comes with life. She reminds us that there will always be brighter, and more beautiful, days ahead.

My first finished book of 2025, loved this poetry book. Purchased off of Amazon. Very easy to read, her poems were relatable. Poems were fun, cozy, about relationships and life. Good book, will read another book by her.

Giving poetry such a bad review feels weird, but this book fell completely flat for me. It was like a collection of Facebook posts your lovesick teenaged self would have shared.

Read this over the last couple of weeks. Joyous. Perfect little wordy haven. Some poems spoke to me more strongly than others . Look forward to reading more of Jennae's work.
