My eight-year-old daughter is missing.

I pull into the driveway and the porch light is on. My two eldest, Olive and Abel, are stood in the icy night air. Their eyes filled with fear.

The first thought that goes through my my ex-husband took her.

Jeremiah would do anything do drag us back to Garden Temple — even abducting our daughter.

We had to escape — they were going to marry Olive off to a grown man. She wasn’t even thirteen.

I know what I have to do. The only people who can help me now are the other wives my husband took back at the compound. My sister wives.

I’ll do whatever it takes to get my daughter back.

This was pretty good

I love thriller books that are part of a series. I feel like it’s very rare for books to get sequels or even become series one they’re thriller genre, but this was really good. It ended on a plat twist, of course but I know that’s because it’s going to continue on into the next book. I love that there was a happy ending as well.

3.5 rounded up

A little slow in spots but gets there in the end. I wouldn't say it has a shocking twist as described. Pretty easy read if you just want something to keep you entertained.

I can’t seem to put my finger on what keeps me reading… I think it’s the authors writing style. Looking forward to diving right into the 3rd book in the series!

I listened to the audiobook 🎧

I still enjoyed this sequel.

However, there were moments where the writing just read... bad.

Not super-fast paced but a little repetitive... Only continuing the series because I am interested in seeing the downfall of Jeremiah and the compound.

Anya Mora's Her Daughter picks up right where we left off in The Sister Wife. I did notice typos and continuity errors, again, making me wonder about the editing process. If you can look past this, you will enjoy the book, but I do wish it wasn't a factor.

It seems that many of the characters went through similar tragedies, which feels a bit repetitive. In addition, the police interrogation scenes weren't very realistic so it ended up feeling a bit off.

Despite these issues, Mora was able to draw out real, raw emotions. I could feel my heart drop with Gray as she realized who took Ruthie. This read will have you on the edge of your seat, craving the next in the series, needing to know what happens next!

I really enjoyed this book, second in the series and although you don't need to have read the first one, it definitely helped. I love an easy read, so this was perfect for that. Not a crazy "keep you on the edge of your seat" thriller, but enjoyable none the less.

The premise is good but there are several errors throughout especially concerning the age of the main character and how old she was when she had her children. Overall it’s a quick easy

Meh. Very monotonous, repetitive book. And why does everyone say her name so much? The good thing is, it’s short.

Her Daughter - Anya Mora

Starts off just where the last book ended. This one is even better. It ends on a cliffhanger, so I’m sure there will be at least one more book.

This is book two of the Gray West Mystery series and the main character is Gray West, who used to be called Grace, a sister wife to the leader and preacher of what many would call a cult, called Garden Temple. She was married off to Jeremiah, the group’s leader who says he can speak to God and calls himself a prophet, and has two other wives Naomi and Lydia. Gray was orphaned at age ten and her aunt and uncle soon joined Jerimiah’s cult and allowed her to be given to him as a wife aged just fourteen! When he decided that their oldest daughter was to be married off, she knew it was time to get away from the cult. She escaped with her two youngest children, daughters Olive who is only in seventh grade and eight year old Ruthie. She is shocked to find her fifteen year old son Abel turn up at her home, thinking he didn’t have any idea where they lived. Gray had managed to get five hours drive away from the cult’s compound, but always feared that her ex would be coming for her. Now she is dealing with the recent murder of her best friend and being a single mum to her girls. The appearance of her son is a nice surprise, but she has told nobody about him, in her new life. He has come for her assistance to stop his father marrying Bethany, the girl he loves himself and has grown up with!
Just as she agrees to help him if she can, someone takes her youngest daughter from right outside her house, as she is on her way back from work, leaving them in Abel’s care. She is over wrought and after searching the house, has to call the police in, something she is uncomfortable with after her upbringing, but she can at least rely on her friend and local detective Orion Boone. Gray soon finds out how wonderful her friends and neighbours in this new community are, as they all come round to help search for Ruthie. She is given a female liaison who stays in the home with her, Charlie Callahan, while Boone and the other detectives Truce and York start working the case of a possible abducted child! Gray suspects her ex Jeremiah, while some evidence points to a weird young teenager. Nothing is ever exactly as simple as it seems and someone has been playing games with Gray. She is no longer worried about breaking the rules of the cult, nor with only relying on her sister wives Naomi or Lydia. She is ready to let go of most of her secrets from her past and knows her best chance of Ruthie being found, is to let the detective in charge, know everything he may about her past and any dangers to her and her children. Every mother’s worst nightmare has happened to Gray and she will do everything she can to get her daughter back! She may not think of herself as a strong woman, but her actions in getting out of the hold of her ex and managing to start a new life with two of her children, shows her as stronger than many. She has already suffered a lot and managed to get through each occurrence. Now, all she wants is her daughter back, from whoever took her! I look forward to reading any more books in this series and certainly by this author. I received an ARC copy of this book and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

The Sister Wife's Search is a terrific suspense crime thriller. It is the 2nd book in the Gray West series and occurs after the first book. Though it is a standalone book, it helps to have read the first book in the series, The Sister Wife's Secret, as it gives a solid introduction of some of the characters in this book and Gray's background. In this book, we also see that Gray just may have a knack for crime-solving.

In the Sister Wife's Search, Gray is embroiled in another crime mystery that hits directly in her home when her daughter Ruthie is abducted. As a result, the past Gray ran from shows up at her door, and she has to find the strength to face it so that she and her children can move on. She also has much explaining to do to Boone, who has become a close friend and someone she cares for and respects. Gray is also reunited with her son, Abel. The reunion is not all happy as Abel has a secret, and he needs his Mom's help to save someone very precious to him. In the midst of the turmoil of the abduction, there are many twists, suspense, drama, and a budding romance. Gray even finds a new friend in policewoman, Charlie Callahan, and discovers that she has really great neighbors and a couple of people in the neighborhood who turned out to be not so great. For the first time since she was a small child, Gray begins to feel safe, loved, respected, and a part of a strong community.

The Sister Wife's Search is a little predictable in places, and Gray gets away with things at a crime scene that no civilian would be able to do, but that does not decrease the suspense or entertainment factor. It ends with a preview of what comes in the next book, which will take Gray and her kids back to the past she ran away from. Book three, The Sister Wife's Husband, will be a real nail-biter. I will be reading that one for sure!

This is the 2nd book in the Sister Wife's series by Anya Mora. Most of the characters in the book are already introduced in the previous book. But there is a new character introduced in this book, Abel, who is Grace/Gray's son. The events of this book start just after the previous book ended. The next day, Gray's younger daughter goes missing.

To help her in her search for her daughter, she has to enlist the help of the police. And finally she has to reveal her whole truth. This book was as good as the previous one, if not more. Particularly because it was wonderful to see and her children finding themselves and their strength from within. This is a crisp, fast- paced thriller holding a strong emotional element and a pleasure to read. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Gray is back in book two of the series and this book hits on a mother's worst nightmare, a missing child. This author really knows how to pull at this reader's heartstrings while adding suspense at the same time. When Gray's daughter goes missing Gray will stop at nothing to find her and bring her home safely. This is an intense read packed with mystery, suspense, danger, drama, angst, and a story that had me on the edge of my seat hoping there would be a happy ending. You definitely have to read this book to find out what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This novel is book two of the Gray West series. It is a quick read with believable characters.

Gray's youngest daughter goes missing while taking out the trash one evening. Gray immediately suspects her ex husband as a way to get back at her for leaving his cult. The police are called in and the neighbors form a search party. The situation turns bleak when a snow storm comes in and covers all traces of the girl and her kidnapper.

This second volume is just as good as the first, the intensity is ever present and never seems to let up. I love the way that this story makes me question things. A mother's love can be a truly powerful thing, and observing the things that some are prepared to do to keep their kids safe is always intriguing. Beautifully constructed and written, this is a great read.
