Read this to complete some research with my college's English department. Honestly, pretty eye-opening on how to merge AI with educational pedagogy. I'm pretty excited to use some of this in my classroom! (Although Kristyan does NOT agree with how to use AI lmao).

This felt like there was a lot of padding in it (perhaps thanks to AI?), particularly in the beginning when it seemed to be trying to sell us on the idea of it at all (but that’s why I’m here!), and at the end when it’s trying to look ahead to the future and give us an AI policy template and stuff like that. What I wanted was in the middle. The tips and guidelines for using AI as a teacher were the most helpful part. Most of the examples of teaching kids to use AI were less detailed and less compelling, though it was what I wanted more of. A lot of that was organized by specific apps, which doesn’t seem like a good idea, given how fast everything changes these days.

This is a great book for educators to introduce them to the world of AI. It is a great overview of what AI is and where it is going in education. It also has many good AI resources that teachers can use for themselves to make their work load easier and AI tools to use with students. We can't just block these AI tools and hope the students won't use them. We have to address this situation and lead the children down the correct path to using the tools. The world of AI is only going to get bigger and we have a duty to prepare our students to be informed and competent users.

This book was selected for a district book club. It's not a book to read from cover to cover but to browse and glean different ideas and ways to make life as an educator just a tad bit easier by tapping into the power of AI. It goes over how AI came to be and then how it can be used in the classroom.

I was not let down it is very informative and helpful and has a wealth of information for educators also.
