During my first pregnancy and postpartum experience, I went through it all. I was in an abusive relationship, I didn't have a support system, I felt like my doctor's office did not prepare me for anything, ended up with a c-section, horrible time breastfeeding at first, and PPD. Currently pregnant with my second, in a supportive relationship, and trying for a VBAC, I decided I needed to prepare myself this time, and this book touched on literally every single topic that I mentioned above. I would recommend this book a thousand times over to every expectant mom I ever meet, whether it's their first or 10th baby, whether they express struggles or not! I am absolutely going to read this a second time before baby arrives as well!
This is exactly THE book I needed when I was pregnant. It was extremely easy to read and follow, without being stressful or overwhelming. When I was pregnant, I purchased the book everyone tells you to get, and it was overwhelming. This was written with care and very informative. You can tell it was written by people with experiene in the industry, but also have big hearts for new moms. If you're trying to conceive or a new mom, this book is for you. If you work in the baby industry, this book is also for you as an excellent reference material source.
This is the book I wish I would have had before my daughter was born. Written in a way that is both informative and inclusive, it shares so many insights about what to expect during pregnancy and in the early months of parenting. I appreciated how it centered on the fact that you can make your own decisions and trust yourself when you have access to accurate information. Getting this for the pregnant moms in my life!
I’m on my 3rd kiddo and Kristen sent me this book as a gift! After all that I have learned on my own throughout the years, I can confidently say that this book is an amazing comprehensive guide to pregnancy, labor and postpartum! There are tons of gems and great resources mentioned throughout the book! It’s a must read!
