Keira Montclair is the pen name of an author who lives in South Carolina with her husband. She writes fast-paced historical romance, often with children as secondary characters.
If she’s not writing, she prefers to spend time with her grandchildren. She’s worked as a high school math teacher, a registered nurse, and an office manager. She loves ballet, mathematics, puzzles, learning anything new, and creating new characters for her readers to fall in love with.
She considers her work done well when her readers shed tears over her stories, but there’s always a happy ending! Her bestselling series is a family saga that follows two medieval Scottish clans through three generations and now numbers over fifty books.
I have been reading Keira's books for a long time and I am never disappointed. This is another good book about the Grants and Ramsey's. The characters are entertaining and engaging. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
This is the story of Ysenda Ramsay, daughter of Gavin and Merewen, granddaughter of the infamous Logan and Gwyneth Ramsay, accomplished archer like her grandmother, and Lewis Haggert, a new Matheson clan member and guardsman. Lewis has already fallen for Ysenda as the book begins. They have a friendly relationship with Lewis teasing her, but Ysenda not believing he could really be attracted to her. Then the avalanche happens and Lewis rescues Ysenda as she is injured and is there to help during her recovery, while at the same time is dealing with his past life and his search for his father and his young sisters. They are both dealing with their own demons.
I love the progression in Ysenda and Lewis' relationship from friends to so much more. They rescue each other. And the family dynamics with Logan, Gavin and Gwyneth involved as well as other Ramsay and Matheson characters, is brilliant! They made this book so special. Great book by Keira Montclair, never boring, fast paced and full of action with a wonderful conclusion! Loved it and this couple!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review of this book. Highly recommend as well as the entire Grant and Ramsay series.
Secrets, Nightmares, Betrayal, Family: Absolutely a terrific story that kept me on the edge of my seat right from the very start, my stomach clinching many times, my jaw dropping, and laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. This story about Ysenda and Lewis has it all and just when you take a breath another terrifying situation jumps off the pages. A delightful fun romance with sweet, delicious kisses along with laugh out loud humor. A bit of mystery, few secrets that come to life, a wonderful family where we visit many of the characters that we have read about before and love, a few rescues and I must say I had to stop and take a breath a few times, along with a shout out of "Oh no, don't you dare!" The ending was joyously delightful with a HEA for more than just Ysenda and Lewis. I can't hardly wait for the next in the epic series. ✔Special Mention: The Breath of Life, and the best family feud ever ✔I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest thoughts and opinion.
This book starts at the ravine when the snow storm starts, the one Brin and Ceit were caught in. This time though, we follow Ysenda and Lewis.
Ysenda likes Lewis and their banter. But could there be more? After he dived in the ravine and dug her out of the snow to struggle up the cliff with her and her broken leg, and Lewis hurt as well-- could there be more? Or did he do it because they were on Patrol together and he had a sense of duty?
Lewis doesn't believe he is good enough for her, but even if he felt he was there is something in his past he doesn't know if it'll come bite him in the a$$ and make Ysenda's family think less of him. Lewis sets out to find his father in an effort to clear his name before he can even think about courting Ysenda.
They do a lot of dancing around, afraid to admit the truth, but you could tell they really liked each other. This story was cute. I love the supportive family Ysenda has, in sharp contrast to poor Lewis. His father is a piece of work! These books are like curling up with a comfortable, familiar friend.
What an incredible journey this author took me on. The banter had me in stitches when they both became drunk, it was priceless! Slow burn to HEA with many bumps in the road.
When I say this story had many twists, I’m surprised I didn’t get whiplash! You’ll experience romance, hurt feelings, some violence, nasty villain, and suspense. But, my favorite part besides the great banter is the family dynamics. So many from previous stories joined in this one. You will get a warm feeling because these characters are amazing together. It’s like wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket.
Our main characters are great together. They have some passionate kisses and lovemaking within marriage with bedroom door almost shut.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance, and tiny bit of spice. Author plans two more stories and I can’t wait. I received ARC and all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)
The Scot’s Warning by Keira Montclair Highland Hunters Series Book Six Lewis Haggert is a Matheson guard assigned to travel with the patrol for the king. He enjoys bantering with Ysenda but knows he’ll never be worthy of courting her. Not even his best friend, Grif, knows some things in his past. Ysenda Ramsay has been having nightmares, and when she was buried in the avalanche, they seemed more real than ever, as if the beast were buried in the snow with her. And then there’s Lewis. He’s been there for her. Rescued her from the snow, but that may be all there is. That’s fine with her since she wants to remain on Ramsay land, and he’s a Matheson guard. Another page-turning story with a villain to dislike and a hero to root for. **Mild sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
I have read every spin off series from the Grant/Ramsay clans and I can't help but wonder if the writing was always this bad? Neither character was well developed and honestly, at times both MCs were annoying. Ysenda being so pouty when she was drunk was annoying and Lewis being so worried about a secret that was obviously a lie felt like a waste of time. More and more the books in these series feel like they are relying heavily on nostalgia, but rather than lift up new characters, it's actually making me wonder what I saw in the earlier books. There were times where whole conversations and explanations were repeated to another family member, sometimes within the same chapter. It was as if the author was trying to hit a word count. And even the reliance on old characters feels misplaced when they do things that don't at all align with who they were in the past.
Wow, in all the books where Logan Ramsey, this one threw me for a loop for sure. Lewis and Ysenda were a given to become a couple but they both dealt with demons that haunted them. He the lies his father told and used him for a scapegoat and his two daughters as pawns. Ysenda the horrific nightmares she has had for years. Logan Ramsey has always been a favorite of mine and this ending was one I will never forget, I will never unsee how Logan took away Ysenda's fear and nightmares and how Ysenda saved him with her undying love and took his pain away. There are no words. I very highly recommend this book!
Awesome story. Friends to lovers; lost sisters, missing evil father to Lewis. The characters are of a loving family, through generations of adventures. Skilled warriors and archers fighting to protect kidnapped children, right the wrongs that effect their family and Scotland. Reading Keira's Scottish novels always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, like I have come home to be with my family and friends, sitting around the big hearth wrapped up in a clan plaid. I always anticipate the next book with joy and cherish the ones before in a series.
Ysenda Ramsay is a part of the patrol at the behest of the king. Lewis is also part of the patrol. The two have been close “friends” for a while but their feelings start to change when they are injured in an avalanche and are recovering together. But Lewis has secrets that must be resolved before he can offer for Ysenda. Family interference, nightmares, and their pasts make this an interesting story that make you want to cheer them on.
This was a great story involving banter, thrills, danger mystery and secrets. Yesander and Lewis are the main characters and what great characters they are. Lewis is a strong handsome and chivalrous guard and Yesander a beautiful archer and the grand daughter of Logan Ramsey, so of course he will enrich the story. You will enjoy the story from beginning to end.
Always wonderful to read a Keira Montclair book. Never a dull moment. I stayed up all night to finish it. I absolutely loved it. I love all of the characters and storyline so much. Never board and also had lots of laughs. Ysenda and Lewis were great. What a love story. On to my next Lucy Morris book. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
This book was fantastic as usual. Keira Montclair is such a wonderful writer, and I love her stories! The cliffhanger at the end was amazing and I can’t wait to read the last two books that she’s writing for the series. Her books are entertaining and very hard to put down! For an amazing entertainment, please consider reading this book and series.
Loved Ysenda and Lewis story. There was one part I never laughed so much. I won't explain the scene because it would be a spoiler, but it was hilarious. Lewis had a secret he was keeping from everyone and afraid it would ruin his chances with Ysenda. It was good to hear about Logan again. HEA.
I have every one of the books about these families and I’m always waiting for the next book. Lewis and Ysenda’s story was great! I love that it goes back to the avalanche so there were 2 different love stories that happened from it!
I love that all these Highlander families stories continue. Yesenda & Lois had a great story love the dedication & loyalty. And there banter. I can’t wait till the next book. Please Hurry. I kept reading till I was done!
I absolutely loved the relationship between Yesenda and Lewis. Their chemistry went from wicked teasing to love. This book was funny, and made me cry. Of course we had Logan and that is always wonderful.
I will NEVER get tired of the Grant/Ramsey series!!! Absolutely my favorite. When I'm feeling down I pick one up and lose myself for a while. It never fails the make my heart happy again.
This was a great series. Loved everyone of the stories. Keira Montclair is a great storyteller. I recommend to anybody who likes Scottish love stories to read this series.
I think I have read all of this series. It is hard to day to recover from injury that Ysenda had but with all the healers helping and Lewis’s help and love she recovered.
I Ann thrilled Ms Montclair returned to a passage from Brim & Ceit's story! I just knew there was more to the story! Again, another wonderful story with well developed characters & storylines!
