Lark Forrester may have been born into the country club set, but she didn’t stay there. From infancy, she was raised around bikers, so it was inevitable that she’d become one herself. Her dream of joining an MC has now come to fruition, and she proudly serves as the Texas Queens MC president with her cousin Rain.
The middle child in a very large family, Lark was raised by strong women and has followed in their footsteps. She’s the one in charge. The woman you go to when you need something done. Since childhood, she’s made it her mission to help others. When a broken family comes to her attention, she can’t stop herself from stepping in to make them whole again. This time, things are different, though, and she won’t be able to walk away when they don’t need her anymore because she needs them more than anything.
Baxter Rhodes’ entire life has been turned upside down. A lonely child, Baxter has turned into a lonely man, but one who doesn’t shirk his responsibilities or back down from a challenge even when he knows he’s not prepared to face it. When the father he barely knows asks for help, Baxter comes to Rojo to take his place as the head of a family that has never learned how to be one. From single man to single father, Baxter’s entire life has changed, and he has no idea how to navigate it.
When a stranger shows up on his doorstep during one of the most difficult nights of his life, she brings with her a family full of people who welcome Baxter and his siblings with open arms, but he soon realizes that’s not all he wants or needs.
Lark is a breath of fresh air and nothing like the women he was raised around. She’s loud, sarcastic, and funny - a wild biker who doesn’t care what the world thinks about her. Lark is everything he’s not and the perfect woman for him. Now he just needs to make her see that he and his new family are not just another project, but her future.
Come along with Cee Bowerman as she explores the lives of the women who were raised by Rojo royalty to become queens - the Texas Queens MC.
4.7 stars. Hell yes. I was so worried Bax was gonna be too polite and mannered to get any reaction from anyone. And then ✨Bam✨. He turns on the dom side and things get so spicy. It was hot. And of course I loved the way everyone opened up around Lark’s family. The growth and the friendships formed were really fun. I just really liked it. A lot more than I was expecting to honestly.
It’s exactly like Cee Bowerman said in her Author’s Note. She creates a world I want to live in. And I absolutely hate leaving that world when the book is finished.
I resented every single thing that kept me away from this book when all I wanted was to curl up and read (you know, things like sleep, work, etc).
I adore who Lark grew up to be! All of these kids are amazing adults. And Baxter. Gah! I love him. And I love him for Lark. They really are perfect for each other and give each other what they need. Baxter and Lark together are goals!
As always, I’m so sad to leave Rojo, the Kings and the Queens (and the Knights) behind. But I am so excited for the next story!
This one was fun to read. Baxter was so normal, put in a situation over his head and who comes to his rescue, Lark and her crazy ass clan. It was exactly what Baxter and the kids needed. They go to see what a crazy family looked like, not a family who barely wanted you there. It was tough for the oldest girl, the other 2 seemed to fix right in. So many times, I felt like Baxter was sitting back blinking rapidly to take it all in, stunned with what was going on, but also loving it when he "got it". Soon he was in on the jokes, doing what he could to help Lark in her things. It was nice to see all of them happy and settled at the end.
A walk, or maybe a sprint, down memory lane comes with a funny and sweet story. As always, this book is all about family and "lite" on the MC, but still is a great story. We get to revisit with our older favorites, marvel over the amount of children they collected over the years. I'm so pleased that Lark is a strong character Lark and Baxter make a fantastic opposites attract couple. Lots of excitement, love and laughter make this book among my favorites. I would recommend Lark to anyone.
Cee did it again!!!! The Queens focusing on giving back to the community in different ways really touched my heart unless you have lived with the uncertainty of your basic needs not getting met its hard to understand the real value Lark and the girls bring to Rojo. Love Lark and Baxter they have such a big heart and can't wait to see what the future holds for them all
I loved this book! Lark and her family are an experience, and Bax is here for it. Bax is a Hot Nerd type who is catnip for Lark, who was raised in MC culture and is the head of an all-female MC in her own right (these are not 1% clubs). After their father is arrested for , Bax steps in to raise his young sisters and brother. And he is both overwhelmed and clueless. Lark’s family, the Forresters, adopts Bax and co. as part of their huge, loud, boisterous, loving, and ride-or-die family, helping him navigate the world of single parenthood as he falls in love with Lark. What I love is that he ends up taking care of her as much as she takes care of him, so there’s no imbalance. I also love the hilarious Forresters (which is the name of the main family in THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, and believe me, the two families could not be more different). Each of their members has a distinct personality and lots of love. There is no shortage of love going around in this book, and it’s a joy to read. Props to the book for passing the Bechdel Test as well. These women are also serious philanthropists, volunteering for programs where they escort victims to court and give them support as well as a program to give food to impoverished children. And I just straight up like these people. Reading this book is like getting a warm hug, there is so much love going around. Not to say that there is no conflict, but these people deal with it together. I would classify this book as being hot- the sexytime scenes are certainly WOO! and a certain hot nerd is a total demon in the sack. This is one of my all-time favorite books and I can’t wait to dive into the author’s backlist. Cat’s Stats MMC/FMC- Bax and Lark Genre- MC Romance Series? Y Safety? Y Triggers- there is some discussion of child neglect, some mild violence, language, and allusions to abuse with no details. I would not say that there is much triggering here, but you never know. Tropes- Instalove, Single Parent, Opposites Attract, Badsass Heroine, Bechdel Test, Adorable Moppets, Less-Than-Adorable Teen, Eleventy-Hundred Cousins, All-Female MC.

We first met Lark and the surprise baby in Bird's book.
Now grown up and joint Pres of the Texas Queens MC, Lark looks after everyone but herself.
Bax, oh poor Bax, is in an impossible situation where he finds himself in charge of his 3 half siblings. It very soon becomes obvious that they have had minimal parental imput in to their young lives.
Enter Lark and her massively pushy / helpful family!
I love the role reversal from the 'scary tough biker' and 'innocent young woman' in this book.
I love how Lark is unapologetically herself and encourages people in her circle to do the same. Baxter = math nerd in the streets... what a surprise when he comes into his own. His mission to be Lark's support, like she is for everyone else. One of my favourite parts of this book is the way the family support Baxter's siblings, down to the reality check that Lark and family put on Blythe (with the support to build her up after). I also enjoyed the golf club, court room and funeral scenes, showing Lark in her full badass glory.
With appearance of the OG Kings / Knights and their families and learning more about the other Queens its a great start to a new series! Can't wait for the rest now 😀
This was such a great start to the new Texas Queens series. Lark, that precious baby that turned Summer and Bird's one night stand into a quick leap into marriage in the OG series is all grown up and spends her time between serving as the president of her mc, bartending at her family's bar, and rescuing strays of both the four and two leg variety. Buttoned up, tums toting accountant Baxter is her complete opposite. With a family life that's turned into a complete train wreck he's thrust into a position he's completely unprepared for. Its clear he needs help. But he doesn't want to end up as one of Park's catch and release strays. Can two people from such different worlds find a place in each others hearts? I loved how strong and confident Lark was, and how Baxter never seemed to want to extinguish any of her fire. I wanted to knuckle bump both Cee and Bird over the clothes incident. As usual this is full of ridiculously clever quips that will forever live rent free in the minds of Cee's readers. Best of all this released early and just when I needed the serotonin boost.
Lark bird and summer oldest daughter is now all grown up and is now the first co prez of the Texas queens mc the club started with cousin raine when told she couldn't join the kings and Like the kings and knights community give back is the corner stone of the mc.
Lark meets Baxter uptight very straight white collared shiny shoe glasses police forensic accountant who thanks to his drunken absence father now responsible for 3 children who have their own issues and has no idea of how to raise them or what to do but a chance meeting with lark on one of the worst times is the blessing and the greatest things to happen and with the help of lark and her family blood and extended things are looking up
Lark is living her best life meeting Baxter and his family gives lark something she didn't k ke she needed and also with the help of her crazy family gives Baxter and his some interesting experience s
Hey there readers, if you haven't read Bird by Cee Bowerman.... Then you need to. This book can NOT be your first dive into the world of Rojo Texas.
Fine, don't believe me. Get lost amongst the characters and drama. Try your best to send an SOS. Try it!
Ok, you. Yeah, you. The readers who have been here from the beginning. Question... What did ya think about this book?
Semxy Baxter, dropped into the dad life. Lark stumbling upon her hot nerd. The way they interact and connect, shows how deeply their souls touch at first meeting.
Bax holds true to his nerd style but runs with the biker significant other life. Love proves true throughout this book.
Lark finds her wings and shows how her family taught her to love.
A dang good read. Extremely highly recommend that you start at the beginning and finish here.
Loved Lark and Baxter! All Cee's books are amazing right from the start but there is something special about the second Gen books. Baxter is put in a position he never thought he would be in and was totally out of his element. Lark is the Co Prez of the Texas Queens being raised in a huge family she has always wanted to help people. She made it that mission when she started the Texas Queens. Once chance meeting with Bax and the chaos of his life turn both thier worlds on its axis. Baxter the hot nerdy account and Lark the sexy bada$$ Queen may look like complete opposites but they fit seamlessly together. You will fall in love with the Texas King crew all over again and we definitely can't forget the Sexy Nerdy account with a sinful streak.
Absolutely loved Lark and Baxter’s story. Baxter was a complete surprise. Even though he seems so strait laced and nerdy, he was just, WOW! That take control dominant side of his was such a pleasant surprise, and his dirty talk gives you shivers 😝. Lark of course is a butt kicking Queen. But I just loved her soft side. Coming from a big family myself, both blood and those that you choose as family, these books resonate with me in such a positive way. I go through all the emotions with the characters along the way in their journeys, and love to go back and re read them time and time again. Well done again Cee. You keep me hanging for each and every book you write and I can’t thank you enough for creating a wonderful world to lose myself in 😊.
OH MY Baby Bird!!! I absolutely loved Lark and Baxter's story. I don't know how Cee does it. I mean every story is different, intricate, and Yet familiar. Its like going home to visit your favorite people. Your family. If you have not read The Texas King's MC you really need to. I love that instead of the rough tough guy and nerd girl you get the opposite. One Bad Azz woman and her Nerd with a twist. If that wasn't amazing enough top it off with the New Series this book kicks off, The Texas Queens MC. Powerful, strong, intelligent women who were told they couldn't join the mens MC, So they formed their own. I can not wait to see where this series leads us, not to mention catching up with the Rojo and Tempest families!
This was a great story right from the beginning. Lark and Bax met and the fun ensued, both totally different characters yet there was a frisson between them and it was interesting to see their story progress. Sometimes when i read these books i get mixed up when all of the characters from the other books become involved but with this one I didn't, the author kept the links simpler. It was much easier to read and keep up. Bax suddenly finds himself guardian to his brother and sisters and he hardly knows them and what to do, then along comes Lark (and her family). They're opposites but they do attract. After some pointers by her brothers, Bax begins his campaign to woo her with fun along the way. Great story and i loved the main characters.
Have you ever read a series so many times that you feel like you’re apart of the family? All of Rojo is that for me. They’re my comfort books, especially Bird so I was very excited for Lark & Cee didn’t disappoint. I loved how Lark took these people and made them her own without a second thought. They were just hers, a dead mom, a drunk dad and crappy girl attitude included.
I had a few stand out moments in this book & I usually wouldn’t go for a spicy part to highlight, but when Dirty Nerd told Baby Bird to ASK NICELY! Oh my sweet lord, I melted in my spot!! Whatever you say! Whatever you say!!
This book, I don’t have enough words to convey how much I love this story. Bird and Summer’s baby bird Lark and Baxter, the female biker and the spunky nerd, what a wonderful combination. Cee does what she does best and hits you with all the feels with this story, Baxter has a heartbreaking story and Lark lives to help people, Baxter wants to be more to Lark than just one of her projects to fix, throw in an unexpected instant family, the OG’s and Cee’s awesome sense of humour and you have one of the best books I have read. Do yourself a favour and grab a Cee Bowerman book today and fall in love with the awesome world she writes for us 🖤❤️
Lark and Baxter, on the surface, wouldn't be the perfect couple. He is straight as an arrow, wears slacks and a tie. She is a biker chick through and through, with a heart of gold. They fit together so well, they were literally brought together by fate. I loved how Bax learned to roll with all the crazy that surrounds Lark and her family. Lark is a force, a true gem and a genuinely good person. But her dad is Bird and she is her father's daughter through and through. I chortled and laughed my way through the story, I just couldn't put it down! So entertaining, so beautifully written, it was just perfect! This series is going to be truly epic, I can't wait for the next one!!
OMG I love Lark and Baxter! Lark is this bada$$ biker who is opinionated, snarky, loyal and fiercely protective of those she loves as well as women and children who are struggling in abusive relationships. Baxter is nerdy, somewhat lost and overwhelmed with the responsibilities of becoming the sole guardian to his 3 young siblings whom he barely knows. I wasn't sure how Cee was going to bring these two together but all I'll say is I didn't know meal prep could be so hot!!!! Loved catching up with some of my favorite people! Would highly recommend reading the Texas Knights MC and the Texas Kings MC first.
I am not a fan of second generation books as I prefer the kids to stay little. Lark was first mentioned in a book written 5 years ago. Now she is in her 20s. Things change in 20 years, however in this book the only difference is that she is now an adult. Too many characters from previous books are mentioned in this book and I lost track of who’s who. I skipped over a few sections that mentioned other characters as they didn’t seem important to the story. That being said, I really enjoyed the story. The character connection is definitely there. I loved the nerdy Baxter.
This is the first book but it belongs to the second generation, so please don’t start your Cee Bowerman journey here but at its very beginning Texas Kings and even before that Texas Knights. Otherwise you’ll never fully enjoy all the connections in this book. And believe me, this Rojo universe will bring so much joy to your life and in my case make you wish it wasn’t fictional. This couple is perfect, she’s a wild thing full of love and joy, he the cautious person thrown into a situation he didn’t expect.
Baxter and Lark are totally opposite and don't appear to fit together . He is the straight laced nerd cop and she is the rough and ready biker chick raised in an mc! I loved this light, funny book by my favorite author. I highly recommend if you enjoy the MC world . I also highly recommend you check out the authors website and read her books in reading order. I love these crazy bikers and their families and the shenanigans they get up to. It makes more sense if you read the whole series in order.
The saying opposites attract is definitely true in this book! Lark and Baxter were such a great couple they easily accepted the others differences and loved them for it! It was so fun watching the biker chic fall for a nerdy cop. Lark so easily slipped in the role of helping raise Baxters siblings. I feel it was so easy for her because of the BIG loving family she was raised in, and they just pulled Baxter and his siblings into the crazy loving family. This was an amazing book.
I remember when little bird came into Bird's life, she had a rough start but that did not last for long. Through all her trials and tribulations, she became a force to be recognized in a family known for their own Texas crazy. I loved the interaction of all the characters, we know and love. This does not deter from the beautiful love story between Lark and Bax! Family is the theme of this book. Great story for a great and beloved character that is Lark.
Baxter and Lark are just the absolute sweetest couple!!!!! The circumstances that being Bax to Rojo are tragic but in true family form - this town and inhabitants embrace him and bring him into the fold. No one more so than Lark. These 2 characters are so perfect for each other even if it doesn’t seem the case from the outside looking in. 100% the kind of partner the other needs. I loved everything about this book!!!! Especially getting to visit this crazy, extremely large extended family & town again.
I definitely haven't read anything like this before. The reverse theory of the FMC being a biker and the MMC being a simple guy with kids was great. I enjoyed reading something different like this. I loved the take-charge attitude of the MMC when it came to the dating aspect. The epilogue was great and cute, actually. I look forward to reading the next book.
However, since this was my first book by this author, I found it hard to keep up with all the characters. Some clarity regarding the external characters would have made the story more enjoyable.
I loved this one. Lark is an entity all unto herself. She is a force to reckoned with that's for sure. She has learned from the best of them and run with it. What she does for her community is beyond. Baxter or "Bax" turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. He even threw Lark for a loop. Regardless of differences they are perfect for eachother. What those 3 kids had to live with their entire lives is unbelievable. I'm not sure what I would have done with Blythe but what Lark did was awesome!! Looking forward to more stories about the Queens.
A lively series begins with a third generation Rojo princess. Lark is an heiress, a biker who couldn't join the MC of her family. So she and her cousins, friends, and sisters started their own MC. Their mission is to help folks in need and they do a phenomenal job. When she losses paths with the own of a regular at one of their bars, they personify "two different worlds" as well as "opposites attract". Baxter is a buttoned up accountant, drowning in the deep end of instant guardianship. There's no reason they should become a couple but they do.
I chose this rating because this was an interesting book. This was a book of protection, understanding, compassion, and doing the right thing toward your family. I enjoyed Baxter and Larks story. They were different but they matched and made a pretty great couple. They both loved and was there for their family. Baxter had to deal with a tragedy in his life and Lark and her family was there for him and his siblings. Pretty great read! I recommend this book to all MC lovers and romance readers.
Ms Bowerman stories keep getting better one would think she will finally run out of material but I am here to tell you I don't think so. This book about Lark and Baxter gives us a look at a Old Lady that is actually a man which makes for a book full of laughs and a little serious thrown in. I just love how she plots out a book and I am here to tell you those Forrester's are a breed apart .
