Crush Landed

Rate this book
“What do you get when you mix fire with sand? Glass. A beautiful, yet fragile thing that can be treasured for years, yet shattered in a moment.”

As a sea turtle biologist, Molly Thatcher has finally been awarded the opportunity of her career to lead her own research team to Emerald Isle, one of the best nesting sites for sea turtles. And she isn’t about to let anything, or anyone stand in her way. Especially when that person is a handsome, blond, 6’3” cocky seaplane pilot named Cooper “Coop” Heyes, who she has hired to take her there.

Coop has more than proved himself over the last few years, and is finally ready to take over his father’s business. But will one mistake, involving a bossy sea turtle biologist, and a long time partnership with her company, cause his dreams of finally owning the business to crash and burn? Or will his hopes and dreams head in another direction? One with dark brown hair and flashing brown eyes.

Finding themselves stranded together, can two enemies find strength in one another, and both obtain the things that they want in the end?

“I guess sometimes all it takes is a storm to wash away the past, and show you the love that was there all along.”

Crush Landed is the second book in the Coastal Kisses series and it was a super cute read!

Molly is a sea turtle biologist who is passionate about what she does. I thought this was a unique job that I hadn’t read about before. I loved learning and reading about turtles. Then there is Coop, who we met in the first book. He is co-owner of a plane company that takes tourists to Emerald Island and is responsible for taking Molly out to do her job for 3 weeks. These two get off to a pretty rocky start at working together, but things start to change when Molly gets a really bad sunburn and Coop is super sweet to her. Got to love a guy who leaves a nice note and supplies. Coop is afraid to be in a relationship after getting out of a long term one that didn’t go well for him, but he finds himself taken aback by how kind and caring Molly is to him. They have an insta-love/attraction that was well done with great pacing. I loved these two together. They are opposites, but opposites definitely do attract. Watching Coop and Molly wonder how they will survive working together for 3 weeks to wondering what they will do when their time together is done was fun. I enjoyed the forced proximity of the storm and their kissing scenes. The ending was icing on the cake. Plus Molly and her bestie Clara made me smile countless times.

Crush Landed is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“When you know, you know. Don’t question it.”

As a sea turtle biologist, Molly Thatcher has finally been awarded the opportunity of her career to lead her own research team to Emerald Isle, one of the best nesting sites for sea turtles. And she isn’t about to let anything, or anyone stand in her way. Especially when that person is a handsome, blond, 6’3” smug seaplane pilot named Cooper “Coop” Heyes, who she has hired to take her there. Coop has more than proved himself over the last few years, and is finally ready to take over his father’s business…but working together is going to require great strength from both Molly and Coop as they don’t quite see eye to eye…

“Sometimes all it takes is a storm to wash away the past, and show you the love that was there all along.”

This fun story is the second book in the wonderful Coastal Kisses Series. This story can be read as a stand alone but, this is a multi-author series, that has interconnecting characters... and even a few crossover scenes, so it’s fun seeing them connect. This story has such fun banter and humor, sweet romance, swoony chemistry, and lovely beach vibes. It’s a story with two strong characters, who must put aside their own selves for a possible chance at something they both want, which turns out to be even better than they could possibly imagine. I enjoyed seeing such unique characters struggle, while being stranded on an island during a storm together, while also finding strength in each other! Despite a storm, there was beauty amidst the struggle! This a quick-but fun read with no slow-burn! 🙌🏻📚🏝️

“As long as you are safe, that’s all that matters.”

•Content: some kissing-makeouts, parent with cancer (current), plane crash, one minor swear word used.

This is a standalone story in a series of multi author books called Coastal Kisses. It is the first one that I have read, although I believe it is the second book in the series. I think the first one, written by a different author, focuses on a couple that is mentioned frequently in this story. I don't feel like I need to have read the other book first, but I may go back and read it now.

I loved the sea turtle aspect of this book. I would not have been sad to have had even more time with the turtles! The setting of the book is unique and that really appealed to me.

There is a bit of an instalove/attraction trope in this book. That is one of my least favorite plot devices, but I do recognize that it does happen in real life as well.

I was given a complimentary digital copy of this book prior to release by the author. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

4.5 stars rounded up.

Favorite parts:
- Flying on autopilot
- PB&J
- Taking care of Molly
- Meeting Coop's dad
- Blanket fort
- Eating Bananas
- The turtle ring (both times!) 🐢

If you are looking for a fun, quick summer read (complete with baby sea turtles), then this book is for you!

I love the characters in this story, it was really fun to see Georgie and King from the previous book in the series.

Molly was such a fun character, she is such a spitfire and so stubborn.

Coop was also a fun character. He is stubborn when he wants to be, and though he doesn't want to, he feels deeply.

I love how Coop and Molly work together and have to take care of each other.

This is the second book in the Coastal Kisses series, it can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to the author for the advanced copy, these opinions are my own.

When reading various book series, there always seems to be that one character who gets mentioned a time or two and you can’t help but laugh, but you can’t wait until you read the story that features them… this is that book!  Side note, I really love sea turtles!

Coop[er] Heyes is the fun light-hearted, jovial character who often leaves his buddies to roll their eyes at him!  This float plane pilot meets his match when he becomes the one-man foot soldier for Molly!  Between him making less than a stellar first impression both in person and on the phone, one can’t help but think “oh man,” but that happens!  While Coop has his moments of awkwardness, he also has his moments of tenderness which keeps Molly forever on her toes!

Molly Thatcher, eager sea turtle researcher and slightly OCD in the communication department proves to be the perfect yin to Coop’s yang!  While she has some moments that make you want to question her methods, she is proven to be highly qualified and ready to go toe to toe with Coop to protect her turtles!   One thing she’s cold as stone, but when she gets teary eyed at sending one of her beloved turtles back into open waters shortly after arriving to Willow Cove, it’s evident that she’s extremely passionate about what she does!

This book throws a lot at you, but in all the best ways!  Two successful professionals, who are mostly detached to the world, save for some minor things, but each out to prove that they have earned their place in the world!  I love the banter between these two protagonists and how it evolves as the story goes on!  You also get to see how they interact with their best friends and even how Coop navigates his relationship with his dad!  While the turtles didn’t take over the spotlight, like I had hoped, they did play an important role in helping Coop and Molly find common ground!  As the saying goes, you know when you know, but in this case, it’s you know when you know that you found an awesome book, you must buy it in paperback form!  Can’t wait to get it on to my shelves!  Bravo!

So, I started reading this book while my kids watched Bluey. So in my head Coop is Australian, and he had the best accent ever. 🤭

I don’t know how Molly deals with turtles and all the other sea life, but she does. I definitely couldn’t do it. Her dream has been to finally get to lead the research expedition to Emerald Isle.

Coop runs a “shuttle” service and flies tourists around to all the sights. When bossy Molly requests his services he turns her down. Who wants to shuttle around a bossy multi-voice-mail-leaving turtle lover around?

But he does it anyway… after dad gets involved 🫣

What follows is the adventure of a life time!
* first plane ride
* dehydration sickness
* cute baby turtles hatching
* plane troubles
* stranded
* first kiss
* happily ever after

Crush Landed is part of the Coastal Kisses series. This is a multi-author series with interconnected characters... and even a few crossover scenes. That said, this could definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

This was such a fun read. I'd enjoyed Coop's character is the first book of the series, so it was definitely fun to get to know him a little better... and to see the ring shopping scene from his POV too. He and Molly did not get off on the right foot, to say the least... which of course, leads to some pretty great banter between the two of them. But whether they were fighting or falling, the chemistry between them was undeniable and oh so enjoyable! Watching Coop go from eternal bachelor to falling hard and fast was the best... and it was definitely a fast romance, but it worked for them, and I adored it.

Not only is the romance really sweet, but this story has all the beachy vibes too. This story definitely made me want to go and watch sea turtle videos immediately with all the information I'd learned. This is definitely a great read for sea turtle fans!

Crush Landed is a closed-door romance with kisses only. There is one minor swear used a few times as well.

Have you been to Willow Cove yet? Because if not, you are missing out on some fabulous love stories you definitely need in your life. I loved getting to know Coop better in this one and Molly is an absolute delight to read about. They have some epic banter and loads of snarkiness that were some of my favorite parts of the story. Seeing them fall for each other was so sweet and I really loved how things played out. Plus, I learned some wonderful things from Molly about Sea Turtles and would love to see the babies hatch and make it to the sea. Along with all this, I really liked the close friendships that Coop and Molly each had. King and Clara gave them some great advice and their conversations/texts provided lots of laughs too. Coop’s dad was another wonderful addition to the story with his advice and kindness and I hope things will turn out well for him. So, if this sounds like a story you’d like to read, snag your own copy, because it definitely be on your summer TBR.

Another Coastal Kisses summer read!
I loved getting Coop’s story! He was so anti relationship in For Butter or Worse and seeing his complete turn around was really great! The man falls hard and he falls FAST! He didn’t stand a chance against little Molly Thatcher!

Our characters initially got off on the wrong foot and had many differences of opinion throughout but the way Cooper took care of Molly showed how much of a softie he was! I enjoyed seeing his tough exterior melt away and the tender care come to the surface. Molly and Coop made a really cute couple and they complimented each other well.

This whirlwind romance screams summer and fun!

A summery romcom, Crush Landed is such a fun read! I had so much fun returning to , especially after reading the first in the Coastal Kisses series.
Molly was a lot of fun! I admired her determination and her dedication to her work with turtles. She was a bit stubborn and could be single-minded, but was also so genuine. It was so cool to see her learning about the Isle and all it offers.
Coop was so fun! He was hilarious, especially with Molly and King! It was so cool to see King again and their friendship is so fun. He and Molly clashed in quite a few ways, but they both admired each other. I loved how their relationship progressed through acts of service and their mutual dedication to their work.
I loved his interactions with his dad too. They were so sweet with each other, even though they didn’t always get along! It was great to see some old characters again and to meet new ones. The story moved a little on the slower side, but it was focused more on Coop and Molly’s story. It was a fun contemporary romance with faith elements. It has only kissing.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

Book #2 in the Sweet Coastal Kisses series

This story follows Molly who is a marine biologist that specializes in sea turtles. She travels to Emerald Isle for work and unfortunately she does not get along with the pilot she has to work with there. Cooper is determined to just do this job and move on until Molly wiggles her way into his heart.

This was a fast and easy read. I love that there is cross over from book one. It was so fun being able to see King and Georgie again. The sea turtles and food descriptions were also a favorite.

I’m a big lover of close friend relationships in books and this one delivered in that area. Molly and Clara and Coop and King.

Read if you like:

Many thanks to Michelle for the #gifted copy to review!

This is a really cute sweet rom com. It is a quick read- they fall fast and they fall hard but i was totally there for all of it. The main characters are both such great characters. I just loved reading their love story. It’s a cute one. I gave it 4.5 stars because I wanted it to be longer! It was so fast when they fell in love- I was sad that it ended. I love the HEA but I was hoping for that suspense and I wanted them to learn from those personal trials/problems that make their relationship even deeper and beievable. I wanted to see that full rounded character growth. Did I like it? You bet. Will I read it again? Abso-friggin-lutly! Do I reccomend? Yep 👍
Can’t wait for then next addition to the coastal kisses series.

“When did holding a stranger’s hand become a thing?”

Coop, a float plane pilot, and Molly, a sea turtle biologist, clash when they start off on the wrong foot working with one another, but the sparks begin to fly when the clashing turns to crushing.

This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the character development and writing style. Coop is very carefree, while Molly comes across as more careful and meticulous. Although this borders on a quick insta-love of an opposites attract, enemies-to-love relationship, “when you know you know” and it felt believable in light of a couple of semi-traumatic incidents and the instantaneous connection and chemistry is palpable.

It was delightful to have an insight into rehabbing, saving, and tagging sea turtles, as well as marking nests and observing them on Emerald Isle, off the South Carolina coast. Being stranded together was an adventure all its own and the sweet romance was so, so swoony.

I love this Coastal Kisses series and the stories of a group of friends. It was fun to see cameo appearances from the first book, but this one can stand on its own.

Content: one bed; kisses/makeouts, mild peril; mild religion
.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Molly & Coop’s points of view

– Coop’s father has cancer

– a character is averse to relationships with how their previous significant other treated them despite the character having fallen for them

Review:

I loved reading about Molly & Coop! They were so much fun and I loved watching them navigate the feelings that crept up on them both! I loved getting to see what a sea turtle biologist does and just how excited Molly would get about her research. I loved Coop’s dad and how he knew that there was something going on before either Molly or Coop realized it/wanted to admit it. I loved getting the chance to deviate from Molly’s plan and how both her & Coop coped with the changes. Some of those moments were my favorite parts of their story! I also loved getting some crossover with Coop’s best friend King & King’s fiance/wife (their story was For Butter or For Worse by Dana LeCheminant) and what Coop was actually thinking during the ring purchasing outing. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the rest of the series!

Summary:

When Molly is finally able to lead her own trip to the Emerald Isle to research the turtles and the eggs they lay there, she is ecstatic & determined that everything go perfectly. Even if it means pushing the pilot she hired, Coop, to hold up every bit of his side of the bargain. Timing is everything, and Molly doesn’t have all the time in the world to research these precious turtles. Though that doesn’t stop her from pushing both of them a bit too far & causing her plans to change…

Coop has been working his tail off to prove that he’s more than ready to take over his father’s business. But when Coop accidentally causes an issue with their best & most consistent customer, he finds himself having to go above and beyond what would have been expected of him had he just accepted it in the first place. Toting the sea turtle biologist Molly to and from the Emerald Isle isn’t a problem per say, especially when it gives Coop the chance to see the turtles. However, Molly is a force to be reckoned with. She won’t let go of the fact that he’s essentially her pack mule and brings it up at the worst times. When Coop thinks things are getting good between them, something goes and destroys it. It’s a good thing she’ll be leaving soon…

“Turtle-y” Adorable

This is the 2nd book in A Sweet Coastal Kisses series, but can be read as a standalone! This series is super cute so far!

Molly and Coop are so cute! I love the enemies to more trope and these two starting out on the wrong foot have that banter and push/pull vibe that is so fun to read!! I loved the sea turtle 🐢 part of the storyline and how that along the plane crash and being stranded on an island helped these two become closer together!!

Molly is finally achieving her dreams and heading to Emerald Isle to continue her study of sea turtles. She’s not prepared for Cooper to be her pilot. When they start peeling back their shells what will happen?

There are all kinds of undercurrents between these two. I really really liked Coop. His soft heart was so squishy. And watching the two of them bond over turtles is well.. just the sweetest thing ever. And again with the HEA. Turtles forever! This is my second book by this anuthor and I’m a fan! A perfect summer read for the beach or anywhere!

I absolutely loved this second book in the Sweet Coastal Kisses Series!! I love Molly and Coop their banter was so funny and had me laughing. I loved seeing them take care of each other throughout the book. They both coming from rough past relationships and being grumpy with each other at times but the way Coop no matter how grumpy Molly was being he couldn’t help care for her! I loved the most them being stranded on the island and seeing them bond on a much deeper level was so good! I also loved seeing some characters from the first book in the series For Butter Or For Worse, it felt like coming home and visiting family! I can not wait for the next book in the Sweet Coastal Kisses series and if you haven’t read any of them yet what are you doing? Go read them!!

Yay for Cooper's story!
Iloved getting little glimpses of him in "For Butter or Worse" Dana LeCheminant.
Molly is a little brash sometimes when she's focused on her pride and joy: sea turtles.
Coop tries just not to "do" feelings.
Sparks fly on the phone and in their first meeting - and initially, not the pretty ones. soon though, those sparks start turning to gorgeous fireworks.
The way Coop takes care of Molly melts my heart. The way Molly calls out the caring side of Coop is beautiful.
Also, Coop's dad deserves a pat on the back here.
You'll find some excellent chemistry and swoony, sweet moments in this story.
Don't miss it!

Another fun visit to Willow Cove! I quite enjoyed the verbal sparring between Coop and Molly in their early relationship and the details about sea turtles made for a fun plot. This book can absolutely be read as a standalone, but the friends roles will be more fun if you've read the first book (which is also fabulous) so add them both to your TBR today! Great summer fun.

Holy mother of sea turtles!! This book took me for a ride!! Coop and Molly are SO. DANG. CUTE!!! Personally, I like books without the 3rd act breakup, and I really loved this one as they both overcame their trails..... TOGETHER! Coop and Molly are my new goals in life. Just goals, all the goals! I can not rant about this book enough, but then I would be edging on spoilers!

Michelle once again caught me in her orbit with this amazing story. I honestly don't know how she does is but the way to weaves her stories draws me in each time!

Molly is a sea turtle biologist from the other side of the United States as Cooper. Coop is an airplane pilot who gives tours around his islands. After being thrown together and forced to give Molly rides to a protected seas turtle island, Coop learned to overcome past relationship prejudice and feels a pull to Molly. While they help sea turtles and overcome sun sickness, they find that they aren't as different as they thought. The rest is history..... or is it? Read the book and find out how they survive a crash into each other's lives!!

“What do you get when you mix fire with sand, Molly? Glass. A beautiful yet fragile thing that can be treasured for years yet shattered in a moment. This is our moment. And what we do with it will determine the rest of our lives."

Genre: romcom with light Christian themes
Content: makeouts, parent with cancer (current), plane crash

This is the second book in the Coastal Kisses series. I was entertained by Coop in the first book in the series, and we get to know his character better in this story!

Cooper Heyes is the pilot of a float plane, and Molly Thatcher is his sea turtle biologist client. In their initial interactions, Coop & Molly butt heads quite a bit. However, once they meet in person, they begin to grow on each other rapidly. And I do mean rapidly! If you like a quick burn romance, this is the story for you!

In it, you'll find:
-beaches & islands
-sea turtle adorableness
-forced proximity
-he takes care of her
-"good girl"
-cameos of Georgie & King from For Butter or For Worse

Favorite Quotes:
🏝️ I can't help but grin over at him as I look at the island before me. "She's beautiful, Coop." "Yes, she is." I glance over and he isn't looking at the island. He's looking at me.

🔥 When I am done, I look up to find Coop watching me, the same smile on his face as before. But his eyes... his eyes are on me, and the look he is giving me isn't one I am familiar with. It's like his baby blues have a fire burning behind them, and I think I might be the source behind the lighting of that fire.

😍 Her eyes light up as she slurps the broth, and before I know what is happening, her lips are on my cheek. As quickly as they are there, they are gone. Apparently so am I, because all I can do is watch as she continues to eat my favorite soup.

🍓 Blanket forts are now my new favorite thing, especially when they involve brown-eyed girls with strawberry lips that kiss the heck out of me instead of the other way around.

🤣🫔 I turn around, and that's when I realize he is shirtless and now I am gawking at him as I look him up and down. "Holy mother of hot tamales," I blurt out, and I am pretty sure he flexes as he laughs at my reaction, my cheeks flaming from what I said.

LOVED IT! I am definitely going to put this one on my bookshelf. It was way good and all the epilogues were so great to finish all the ending details to make it so great!
I loved the playful spitfire flirting between the both of them (Molly and Coop) when they first talked on the phone and met in person. But then the instant care Coop had for Molly when she got sick was by far my favorite part. And then the trope of being stuck somewhere alone comes into play and the care for one another and feelings get even stronger. It was a great sweet clean romcom! Thank you for an arc @authormichelleangus. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I will note that there are insinuations of physical intimacy. Nothing more than sweet kisses are written though.

Coop and Molls! Between the banter and the swoon pouring off the page, I needed this book to be longer just so I could spend more time with these two! 😍

I need to know if eating a green banana is an actual thing, cause…🤢.

I loved seeing cameos from King and Georgie throughout the book!

This one was so cute! I loved the fast-paced romance and the suspense and sweetness. This was a great summer read!

I loved Coop and Molly's opposite attract and enemies vibes! She is feisty and passionate and he is a bit grumpy, yet calm. I loved them both so much! The had a whirlwind romance but I loved how the circumstances brought them together. With the added layer of suspense, I enjoyed watching it all unfold. They fell hard and it was great.

I also really enjoyed seeing the glimpses of King and Georgie from the first book in this series. Coop and King's text conversations were hilarious.

I really love the setting of Willow Cove and seeing the residents in each book. The setting really makes for a great summer read. I also really liked the shorter length of these books so far, they are not too short or very lengthy which makes for the perfect vacation size.

Love of Turtles and Humans

So I already loved this series, and this book had me laughing out loud numerous times. I loved the information on the turtles. I loved the relationship between Molly and her best friend Clara and Coop's relationship with his best friend King. Molly and Coop's relationship is absolutely swoon-worthy! I also loved Coop's dialogs with King's wife Georgie. The whole book drew me in, so I had to finish it in one day. I loved all the Epilogues and the excellent HEA!
