My big break has arrived with the restoration of the historic DuPont Hotel.

This is my chance to prove my worth to my hard-nosed boss and finally snag that promotion.

But suddenly out of nowhere, BAM!

My boss drops a wrecking ball, pairing me up with Miles Nelson, aka the ultimate office grump, complete with his irksome suit and obnoxious bow tie.

At least it’s back home in Cranberry Creek, where I’m getting time with friends and family.

But now everyone seems to be pushing me and Miles together.

Okay, I'll admit, there are times when I do get lost in his dreamy blue eyes…that crooked smile…and those irresistible dimples…

And being trapped alone with him in this creaky old elevator that threatens to send us plummeting to our death isn’t helping my resolve… or my fluttering heart!

Will the Grump and I end up a hot mess, or can we pull off a double win—bringing this place back to its glory days and constructing our own love story along the way?

Review of Falling for My Office Grump by Callie More

Falling for My Office Grump by Callie More is a cozy, small‑town grumpy x sunshine romance about being paired with someone you barely tolerate at work and finding out that the blueprint to your heart might just be hidden beneath their crusty exterior. Set in the beloved Cranberry Creek Book Club series, this story follows our bright‑spirited heroine as she and the famously prickly office grump tackle a restoration project together, forcing proximity, unexpected banter, and tender moments that crack the shell around the grump’s guarded heart.

From the very beginning I was wrapped up in the tension between these two: she with her warm confidence and cheerful determination, he with his sharp edges and reluctance to open up. That contrast is what made every shared scene feel alive, because even in small interactions I felt their layers unfold in ways that made me root for connection rather than conflict. The restoration project they’re assigned is almost like a metaphor for their relationship, with old walls slowly revealed and repaired as they learn to work side by side. Callie More’s voice is gentle but full of personality, making the setting of Cranberry Creek feel like a friend’s hometown you haven’t visited yet but already adore. Honest laughs bubbled up at their playful arguments, and my heart softened at glimpses of vulnerability beneath his grumpy façade. This book offers heartfelt growth, tender chemistry, and that satisfying warmth of two people learning to see the best in each other (even if it takes a few cups of coffee and shared projects to get there).

I would rate Falling for My Office Grump 4 out of 5 because the emotional shift from irritation to affection felt deeply human and genuinely earned, and because the cozy small‑town backdrop and “grump meets sunshine” dynamic made my smile linger after the last page.

If you love romances with gentle character arcs, warm community vibes, and that satisfying moment when two people finally click, this book will likely make you feel wonderfully content and hopeful about love.

This book was a short romance that I thought was very sweet but was unfortunately not for me. I don’t have many things to say on how this book could be improved because my main critique is how short it is. Falling For My Office Grump is around 150 pages which is not enough for character backstories, development, relationships and plot. Nevertheless, I think the author has a great baseline with this story and expanding it could be very fun and would definitely be something I would read!

Thank you so much to Callie for gifting me this e-book copy of this book in return for my honest feedback :)

Kaylee has the chance to impress her boss by overseeing the interior designing of the renovation of a historic hotel in her hometown. The only drawback is she has to work with the person known as the “office grump” who doesn’t seem to smile or like anything she has to say. Still she is happy to be back home and tries to show him how special she thinks her home town is. As they work together, he notices how she does care about what she does and is impressed by it. When he gives her the opportunity to present the presentation to the boss, however, he doesn’t pay her any mind and instead completely ignores her and complements him instead on a job well done. She is understandably devastated. Later on he confronts her over something that isn’t even a problem any more and Miles comes to Kaylee’s aid and stands up to their boss and tells him off and quits. Kaylee then quits as well. They form their own
company in restoring and renovating historical buildings and look forward to their upcoming marriage.

This was an delightful opposites attract story that I
throughly enjoyed! Both had preconceived ideas about the other but when they got to know each other they found out they liked who they saw in each other and the preconceived ideas faded away as the true personalities of each emerged.

I heartily recommend this book as one I know you’ll
enjoy reading and recommend not only it but the upcoming series as well! These characters are true to life and down home and it’s easy to see one’s self or those you know in them as you read this book.

Callie writes books that speak to one’s heart! They make you feel good inside as you read them as you see the characters change and take a chance on reaching out to find love and make their lives complete.

I encourage you to pick up this book and then get the
next books in the series as you follow these ladies in this “lit” club as they find their happily ever afters!

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.
This is book one of the Cranberry Creek Book Club.

This was a cute, sweet, clean, small town romance book. In this book you will meet Kaylee and Miles who go to a small town to remodel an older hotel that the company they work for bought. In this book you will see the right amount of humor, chemistry, tension, and of course romance. I thought this book was a perfect read to induce the readers to the small town of Cranberry Creek and characters.

With this plot you will find it too short and sweet, it was to the point with a few small hiccups throughout the book. Then it was wrapped up nicely at the end. I enjoyed getting to see Kaylee and her huge heart go out of her way to make sure that everything was perfect in her interior decorating. She knows what she is doing but is also worried about others not seeing her vision with it at the start and fears that the owner will hate it. Mostly because it was not done by Miles who is the boss’s favorite. He is also standoffish, and rude. However, the more and more that Kaylee gets to know/understand Miles, she finds herself liking him. I liked that Miles was not worried about what others thought about him because he never cared about that until he came to this town with Kaylee, and he started to slowly change. I liked that he wasn’t just changing for her but made himself a better person as well. I found there to be a lot of funny moments in this book, but the more I think about it I loved that it just felt real to me. OOOOO, but my favorite part of the book was Kaylee, and her friends get together once a month in Cranberry Creek to meet up for a book club/hangout with friends and just relax.

I loved that sneak peek into Violet's story at the end, I can’t wait to read this book: Falling for my Billionaire Next Door.

This book is great for readers who like opposites attract, forced proximity, office romances, grumpy meets sunshine, book clubs and small town romances.

I want to thank Callie More for the opportunity to review this book.

"Falling for My Office Grump" by Callie More is an absolute delight! This romantic comedy brings readers to the charming town of Cranberry Creek, where love finds its way in the most unexpected places. Kaylee and Miles, the main characters, navigate personal hurdles while working on a major restoration project, blending heartwarming romance with small-town drama.

Kaylee, eager to prove herself, gets her big break with the historic DuPont Hotel project but is paired with the notorious office grump, Miles Nelson. Despite his grumpy exterior, Miles and Kaylee's proximity sparks an undeniable attraction, leading to a realistic and endearing slow-burn romance.

Cranberry Creek's vibrant community, including the local Book Club and the lively Aunt Ruby, adds depth to the story. Miles' acceptance of Kaylee's friends and his character growth from grumpy introvert to caring partner is particularly touching.

Callie More crafts a narrative about more than just romance, exploring personal growth, friendships, and overcoming challenges. The bond between Kaylee and her friends enriches the story, addressing themes like misogyny and the courage to pursue dreams and love.

The romantic tension between Kaylee and Miles, especially during intimate moments like being trapped in a creaky elevator, is both humorous and tender. Their gradual relationship build-up leads to a satisfying and happy ending.

"Falling for My Office Grump" is a perfect RomCom cozy that will leave you smiling and eager for more adventures in Cranberry Creek. Callie More and her wonderful books are definitely recommendable!

Review:
Falling For My Office Grump is the first book in the Cranberry Creek Book Club series. This series follows six best friends in a book club - each person gets their own book. These are all sweet, short and clean romances books.

This book was just so cute 🥹 It’s about 130 pages, so it was pretty quick. I really enjoyed it! This book follows Kaylee and Miles, who are working together on a remodeling project for their company in Kaylee’s home town. Even though it was a shorter story, I feel like I got to see a lot of growth for both of the main characters, both personally and professionally. It was so heartwarming to see them support one another and be what the other needed. I loved that Miles wanted to be a better person for Kaylee, but also for himself! Kaylee was so tough - I loved how she stood up for herself!

I also love The Lits and their bond. The way they supported Kaylee without bulldozing her into making any decisions was perfect! They knew exactly what she needed. They are truly best friends!

Overall, this was a great story. It just made me really happy while I was reading it 🩷 I can’t wait to read the rest! 🎉

Falling For My Office Grump - Callie More

Today I had the pleasure of reading my first book from author Callie More, who is working on writing her way through the "Cranberry Creek Book Club" series. Each story features a different work of literature. The books are clean & wholesome, closed-door, with only sweet kisses.

This debut installment focused on "A Room With a View" as the book being discussed. It also centered around the characters Kaylee & Miles. Kaylee is the interior designer for a company and Miles is the contractor. Their boss Dennis sends them back to Callie's hometown to restore an old historical hotel back to it's former glory together. Miles has a reputation for being the boss's pet and somewhat crabby.

I loved how both characters grew throughout the course of the novel. Miles realized how much recognition Kaylee wasn't receiving for her hard work and Kaylee realized that she deserved better than how she was being treated at work.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If the author is on the fence about deciding, I hope the side character gets to join the book club. :) Overall, I would rate this 4/5 stars!

This was a lovely book! I got the book from the author's Instagram where you can sign up for their newsletter and get the first book in the series for free.

First of all, I really liked the premise of the series itself. A group of women in a book club, with each book focusing on one of the members and the book they are reading at the time. This is the first book, following Kaylee, and the group is reading A Room With a View.

The friendship was wonderful, the romance sweet but not unrealistic, and the general vibes and atmosphere were absolutely stunning. The only problem I had was the length of the book. The pacing is fast and I would have liked the story to be a bit longer.

Regardless it was a great read. I loved the way the author dealt with the more serious topics in the book, and I really loved the part where the characters discuss the accessibility aspect of different ways of reading.

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, and I’ll definitely read more books in the series. If you are looking for a cute, easy, and sweet romance novel about people who love books, then check this one out!

Falling for My Office Grump is a quick read with 130 pages. The 𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘆 𝘅 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 dynamic is fun, and the 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 setting adds a coziness to the story. I especially loved the growth of both main characters—their character growth was a highlight for me. I also liked FMC’s friends and their book club!

The story has a nice, low-stakes feel, making it perfect for an easy, breezy read. However, since it’s a shorter novel, I wished there were more scenes between the main characters. It would have been nice to see their relationship develop more than just being told about their feelings (there was a lot of behind the scenes I was being told about). So, when the "L” word dropped, it came as a bit of a surprise.

Overall, the book offers a satisfying blend of 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 and lighthearted fun. If you’re looking for something quick Falling for My Office Grump is a good choice! I don’t mind reading the rest of the series.

ɱყ 5 🌟 ωเรɦ ℓเรƭ:
* Some spice (even just a suggestive dialogue)
* I want to read more about the MCs interactions and learn how their feelings develop instead of just being told about it.

This novella is the ultimate cozy escape, brimming with sweet romance that’ll have you wrapped in a blanket and smiling!

SYNOPSIS 📝
When the historic DuPont Hotel opens for restoration, I see it as my big chance to shine and secure a promotion. However, my boss throws a curveball by pairing me with Miles Nelson, the office’s notorious grump with his signature bow tie and suit. Although I’m initially frustrated, I’m delighted to be back in my hometown of Cranberry Creek, surrounded by friends and family. As the town plays matchmaker, I find myself increasingly drawn to Miles' dreamy blue eyes and charming smile. Yet, balancing professional ambitions with blossoming feelings proves to be a challenge.

THOUGHTS 💭
The playful banter between Kaylee and Miles is gold, & their emotional rollercoaster will keep you hooked. Miles' heartfelt appreciation for Kaylee’s quirks adds a delightful layer to their romance.

The side characters are absolutely fun. Aunt Ruby is the matchmaking queen, & Kaylee’s book club buddies, the Lits, add a charming & supportive vibe. I’m already excited to see their stories in the next installments.

And let's not overlook the swoon-worthy elevator scene—it's the cherry on top of this romantic sundae!

On the flip side, some parts of the story felt a bit jumbled, & there were a few romantic moments that seemed slightly forced, which disrupted the flow.

CONTENT 🛁
This is a squeaky clean read with no sex, nudity, or profanity.

STAR RATING
3/5 stars. The novella is enjoyable with charming characters & engaging moments, but also has some issues with pacing & forced romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are my own.

🌟 A Delightful Read from Start to Finish! 🌟

As a fellow Wisconsinite, I was thrilled to discover that this captivating story is set in the heart of my home state! From the moment I started reading, I was completely hooked and devoured the entire book in just three hours. The exceptional writing and lovable characters made this an absolute gem.

This charming opposites-attract tale had me smiling from ear to ear. Kaylee and Miles’ journey from preconceived notions to genuine connection was both heartwarming and relatable. The romantic tension, especially during scenes like the creaky elevator encounter, perfectly balanced humor and tenderness, leading to a wonderfully satisfying ending.

The character development was beautifully done, with both Kaylee and Miles growing individually and as a couple. I couldn’t wait to dive into the next installment, “Falling for my Billionaire Next Door,” and I'm beyond excited to continue the Cranberry Creek Series! 📚✨

I had the pleasure of being asked by Author Callie More to read and review this book on my Instagram page dinahs_bookshelf.

Kaylee a small-town girl gets to work on a renovation project back home. She is super sweet with a big heart. She is a dedicated worker passionate with her craft in Interior Decorating and surrounded by a great group of friends who support her and share a love for books. She is faced with hurdles along the way with her boss Dennis, coworker Miles and has to deal with discrimination.

I enjoy a book with character development where I know them and understand them; it's easier to connect with the story. This book delivered that for me. There are funny moments, moments where I was upset with Kaylee, and times where I was in my feels.

There were some parts I felt needed to be explained more. The end felt a little rushed for me, I wouldn't have been mad if it were another 5 chapters longer to explain a few more things.

Falling for my Office Grump
(Cranberry Creek Book Club, #1)
Callie More

If you’re in the mood for a sweet, clean, small town romance based on a fun book club that reads classic romance, look no further.

I am all for small town romance, and even more so when written by a local MN/WI author. Falling for My Office Grump was so cute, and at just over 130 pages , it made for the perfect one sitting read.

Kaylee and Miles’s story was entertaining and just the right mix of humor, tension, and sweet romance. I adored the cozy setting of Cranberry Creek and its charming cast of side characters that brought so much to the story. The sneak peek into Violets story at the end already has me ready for Falling for my Billionaire Next Door.

What I enjoyed;
🩷 Opposites Attract
🩷 The “Lits”
🩷 Aunt Ruby
🩷 Swoony Elevator Scene

Thank so so much Callie for reaching out and putting your Cranberry Creek Book Club series on my radar.

FALLING FOR MY OFFICE GRUMP by Callie More is the first book in the Cranberry Creek Book Club series. It’s a small town sweet romance that has family and friends along with jobs, careers, a major project and lots of books along with romance and love.

This is Kaylee and Miles’ story, colleagues who aren’t always on the same page. He’s considered grumpy but most of the time seems to have her back. Their attraction ebbs and flows but is the feeling mutual? We get to know them a little at a time and I liked their get to know you phase.

The story is a quick read, has a good flow and a nice introduction to the characters especially those in the book club. There are vivid descriptions of the hotel renovation and the bluff and lake area that made me feel like I was there. There are a few surprises and a happily ever after that was nicely portrayed especially with the epilogue. I look forward to reading more of this series and getting to know everyone’s story.

Their Unlikely Connection -
Even though Miles was known as the office grump, Kaylee wasn’t worried about working closely with him on the project, as she had her friends to support her. Miles liked living his life as an introvert, but working with Kaylee made him open up and experience life like he had never done before. Their attraction for each other grew, as they spent time together, but they only had the courage to acknowledge their feelings for each other, after an incident that brought them closer and led them towards a happy and fulfilling life together.

This is a wonderful tale about love, friendships, misogyny and finding the strength to risk it all. It was an interesting slow build romance, that you will be happy to read and recommend.

I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is an amazing start to a great series! We start off with Kaylee and Miles being paired up on a project in Kaylee's hometown. Miles is super grumpy and not happy Kaylee is on his project. Too bad for him because this is a dream project for Kaylee and he needs to deal!! I loved their back and forth push and pull but most of all, I loved Miles. He took to heart the things Kaylee said and really saw her and her value. This Rollercoaster of a ride book introduces us to the Lits, Kaylee's awesome friend group, who I'm star in their own books later in the series. This book makes you think, gets you frustrated, angry, gives you all the good feels, and makes you hope for an HEA for these two. I truly love this beginning book. It was a great way to get to know this amazing group of friends right alongside Kaylee and Miles.

This was a cute grumpy sunshine story that also included some forced proximity, as well, as Miles and Kaylee worked together on a hotel refurbishment project for their company.

Falling for My Office Grump is a book that you can easily pick up and enjoy as a quick read. While the story was fun, I didn't feel an emotional connection to these two characters. I felt as if most of their feelings were being told to me rather than experienced by me. I think this made me feel a bit disconnected and when they expressed their love for each other, I felt like it kind of came out of nowhere.

The literary focus of the book club was a nice addition to the story, and is a good way to have a friend group of women finding their own happily ever afters in future books.

I loved the idea of a series of a book club and the story matching the books they were reading. Such a creative idea! However, this book just fell flat to me. It seemed to me like the plot was very rushed and we often skipped weeks ahead in the timeline. The story could have been twice as long if the story was flushed out.

I liked the story! I appreciated Miles willingness to defend Kaylee and stand up for her when needed! The story was great and the Epilogue was so fun!!

I think the idea was great and I’d still recommend if someone is looking for more of a novella feel! I am just not into those types of stories!

Honestly, I rated it 3 stars, but this is such a subjective point of view so, If you like clean contemporary romance go ahead and give it a chance.

Sadly, that is not my case. Reading this book I remembered why I don't read contemporary books often. I'm more of a "traditional views and lifestyle" kind of person and, most of the time, contemporary (for modern reasons) doesn't share traditional views. Also, I mostly read Christian Fiction and although some people may think Clean Fiction is an equal... for me it isn't. I just don't enjoy reading books without a Christian worldview anymore.

So, like I said... If you like contemporary, then this is the book for you. It just wasn't for me, but don't let that stop you from giving it a chance.

Toodles and blessings 🌹

When opposites are forced to collide, sparks fly in more ways than one! Kaylee, a passionate historian with a love for restoring old buildings, and Miles, the brooding office grump, are both gunning for a promotion. Their boss? A condescending, sexist obstacle in their paths. As Kaylee struggles with the question—is this career really worth her dedication and passion?—she finds herself unexpectedly drawn to the one person she never thought she’d connect with.

The Office Grump is the perfect pick for readers craving a quick, lighthearted, and utterly binge-worthy read. Filled with a dash of enemies-to-lovers romance, and a swoon-worthy happy ending, this book is an absolute delight for anyone needing a feel-good break between heavier reads.

This is a perfect book for when you want something light, uplifting, and some sweet true romance. The story is of 2 coworkers assigned to work together on a project and of course eventually fall in love. It has the forced proximity, the sunshine vs. grump, supportive family and friends, a beautiful setting in this town of "Cranberry Creek", and the finding your true self, that I love in a sweet and CLEAN romance story! And it is written in a dual POV from both main characters which really drew me in. I read this book in 1 day and am looking forward to reading the rest of the stories of the Cranberry Creek Book Club ladies, "The Lits".

ARC for review. But I would happily buy a copy of this great book.

The dynamic between Kaylee and Miles is well-crafted. Miles grows from a stereotypical office grump into a character with depth and vulnerabilities.

However, the novel does sometimes struggle with pacing, in particular with info-dumps that slow the narrative.

The novel is a delightful read that offers humour, heart, and a touch of whimsy.

A recommended read for those who enjoy an impressive grump-turned-sweetheart tale.

This isn't really a full-fledged review. The book was a sweet romance with some deeper themes like standing up for yourself. There is one little detail that bother me though. When talking about Carnegie libraries, the author has one of the characters think about how "Eleanor" Carnegie started them. It was Andrew Carnegie who made funds available for libraries in towns that were also willing to help fund them. Carnegie libraries were so important in our culture that it is a shame Andrew wasn't given the credit he deserved in this book.

'Falling for my Office Grump' is the first in a series of books by Callie More, each of which can be read as standalones as well. 💖 Each novella in the series focuses on the love story of the characters in a book club, called the Lits. 📚 The best part? Each story mirrors a popular novel we are familiar with! This book in particular has parallels to 'A Room with a View,' the Lits' current read. 🛋️

I was so glad to read clean romance involving adults. ✨ As someone who needs to skip spice or avoid spicy books altogether, this was super satisfying! 😻Contrary to my general YA reads, I was in awe of how responsibly the main characters handled things. 🌺 Whoever said fiction isn't realistic hasn't read the books in the 'Falling for..' series. I love how empowered Kaylee is while showing us that if us okay for independent women to feel nervous as long as we learn to conquer our obstacles in new ways as we grow in life. ❤️ And Miles? Something I hate is people not taking accountability. However, Miles immediately acknowledges his mistakes and vows to actively make up for it. That makes him more of a man than most people I've met. 🤩 Mind you, these are realistic mistakes any person you meet can make, which makes everything easy to relate to.

The way Miles and Kaylee work for their career 💼🏨 and for their love 💘 is what makes this story one of the sweetest romances ever. 💕 If any of you are in a reading slump due to lack of time, this book will help you right out of it! 📖⏰

P.S. Book 3 (Falling for my Childhood Nemesis) is based on my lovely Anne and Gilbert (Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery) I'm extremely excited to read that! 😻💖📙

Falling for My Office Grump is a sweet workplace romance that will have you swooning. Kaylee is paired up with the grumpy, boss's pet Miles on a restoration project in her hometown. While working on the historic Dupont Hotel, feeling develop between the two and when Kaylee's effort is not recognized by their boss, Miles is there to defend her. This was a quick, easy read that did not go too into depth with explanations. If you like sweet romance with little to no spice and no third act breakup, definitely check this lovely read out!

Kaylee is excited about her new job assignment. The fact it's in her hometown is a bonus. Miles being along she's not too sure about. Are they both going for the same promotion? What happens when everything starts going wrong? Will the boss be supportive? How is it that their views on each other begin changing? Who gets promoted?

Falling for My Office Grump centers around the little town of Cranberry Creek and the local book club, The Lits. Each month the Lits pick a classic book to read, Falling for My Office Grump centers around the classic “A Room With a View”.

This installment of the Cranberry Creek Series centers around Kaylee, an interior designer and Miles, an introverted grumpy contractor from the same firm. They are assigned to renovate a recently acquired historic hotel in Cranberry Creek, which also happens to be Kaylee’s hometown. The two have to learn to accept each other, be a team and work together, while also standing up to a difficult boss. I loved how Miles stood up to their boss when Kaylee’s hard work didn’t receive the recognition she deserved. The romantic tension between the two—especially in the old creaky elevator—is beautifully written and quite funny! Aunt Ruby was such a fun character that kept me laughing the whole time too!

I loved Miles and Kaylee’s gradual relationship leading up to their happy ending, and how they overcame challenges and showed personal growth throughout.

"Falling for My Office Grump" is a perfect RomCom that will leave you smiling and eager for more adventures in Cranberry Creek!

This is such a cute and fun romance! I loved seeing Kaylee and Miles, two total opposites, come together—they’re truly a match made in heaven. The book has no spice, but that doesn’t take away from how sweet and enjoyable the story is. I especially loved the fun book club talks Kaylee had with her friends, which added extra charm to the story. If you’re looking for a light and heartwarming read, this one’s perfect!
