💕 A sweet version that encapsulates all the enchantment of the original story. For anyone who is not a fan of the spice, the Daylight Edition just goes to show you the depth that this story has on its own.
The immense gap between Ollie and Gabe at the start of the book. Ollie’s stiffness and inability to connect with Gabe, despite his growing love for the boy who was destined to be his. Ollie feels the bond, and he’s done everything he can to protect Gabe until the time was right for him to reveal himself. And now that it has, he can’t find a way to make that connection. I love it. The rejection, as he feels Gabe slipping away before he even gets a chance.
Gabe’s pain and loneliness. His lack of a path and a vision for his future. Everything he’s known has been torn from him. His path was never clear, so he floats around with nothing that truly makes him happy. A lost soul. His anger when he’s forcefully removed from his life is epic. His despair at being trapped. When he lands in the demon realm of Sefaera, we see how he slowly grows to love this new place, the people, and the one who is willing to sacrifice it all for him.
This book takes you to a new world, through the suffering and the dangers that lurk behind each corner. To new friendships and a new purpose. To not just accepting the soulmate bond but to choosing it before all else.
