Windows & Mirrors

Rate this book
Reading can either be like looking through a window - watching someone else’s life, not being able to relate to the character’s experience; or like looking into a mirror, because of how similar their experiences are to the character. Fifteen amazing youth came together over five weeks, where they learned about writing, poetry and visual arts from a diverse group of experienced authors, educators, artists, and poets. This book is the powerful result!

There is no way I can be impartial on this one as a number of my students (and a neighbour) contributed to the book. A brisk read featuring art, stories, and poems by local Indigenous and African Nova Scotian youth. Wonderful stuff and all involved should be very proud! Congrats.
