They say the best way to get over someone is to get under someone new.

If only.

Delia Danvers has always been tough. Whether it was her parents leaving her at six months old, her guardian and great grandmother declining with Alzheimer's, or the heartbreak of watching the love of her life walk away, she got through it. But it turns out that playing music, doing odd jobs around town, and notching up her bedpost with one night stands just isn't enough to make her forget the pain of losing the love of her life.

Kacey Uchitjil has it all.

The penthouse apartment, the prestigious job, the beautiful fiancee. There shouldn’t be a gaping hole in his life, right? Turns out that leaving behind his home, his music, and the only girl he ever loved wasn’t the answer to his problems… or hers. When he derails his life and returns home to Maple Creek, the girl he could never quite forget becomes the only thing he can think about. Can the love that broke them apart four years ago be the same love that puts them back together?

Chelsie Hart

Chelsie lives in St. Louis, MO with her husband and kids. She grew up in a blue collar town and now spends her time daydreaming and writing about what those blue collar people got up to. By day, she sits at a desk and works on a computer. By night, she sits on the couch and writes on a computer. She enjoys watching hockey, snuggling with her dog, and being alone.

Chelsie has been a writer most of her life. Whether that was filling hundreds of college ruled notebooks with journal entries, doodling terrible poetry in those fancy notebooks from Barnes and Noble and then regretting it, or spending an entire summer world-building a complex dystopian society for a book that will never be written.

The only difference between now and then is this time the writing was good enough to share with someone else.

There’s small town romance and then there’s Midwest small farming town romance. And it is a breathe of fresh air.

I love cowboys and Montana don’t get me wrong.
But this just feels real and new.
The people and stories just feel real life without being boring.

Delia: love her, it’s rare when I have a crush on the FMC over the MMC but Delia Danvers takes no s***

Kacey: loved the golden retriever energy

The girl gang vibes are strong
Strong plot.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s an emotional second chance romance.

Delia and Kacey bring all the feelings, and all the heat. For 2 characters who had been let down by their parents so horribly (in different ways), they didn’t let that stop them from loving those who deserve it fiercely. This was such a beautiful love story, because it was raw and a little messy. They are both so passionate, and though Kacey starts this story a little lost, he finds his way back to Maple Creek and back to himself. Him and Delia show their vulnerabilities to each other in a very real way, and leave no doubt they are twin flames.

Like all great second chance romance, we get some flashbacks that help us get a deeper look into the foundation of their relationship. I loved that the timeline of this story ran parallel to book 1 (Golden Hour) because I loved getting different POVs from some of those same scenes!

The writing is beautiful, as is the hug I feel when I read it. I love the girl gang and how vital they are to the story and series, in addition to the romance.

Thank you Chelsie, for an arc of your story, in exchange for my honest review!

the way this book had a hold on my heart, oh lord. i desperately needed delia and kacey’s full story after the small glimpses we got in golden hour. and i honestly wasn’t prepared for the onslaught of emotions i’d have while reading this book.

delia and kacey meant everything to each other in high school. circumstances that were out of both of their control led them to live different lives. it’s been four years since they’ve seen each other and now kacey is back home in maple creek and looking to make things right with delia. for both delia and kacey all those feelings they had in the past are still ever-present but even more deeper now. there’s no question they have amazing chemistry but at the heart of it all, it’s the immense connection they share. the growth they both make throughout the book was astounding. i loved everything about delia and kacey. from delia’s strength and her take no sh*t attitude and kacey’s compassion and the fact that he’s so gone for delia. these two were so good together and were always meant to be each others other half.

wilder days was an emotionally charged small town romance with all the feels. the found family in this series is out-of-this-world fantastic. and the friendship between delia, june, and louise is simply remarkable. the love these three have for each other is infinite, no matter what they’ll always have each other. this series is so good and i can’t wait for the next book.

*thank you to the author or an arc of this book*

Reading this book makes me want to go find a pair of red cowgirl boots STAT! I don't have a musical bone in my body but I'll pretend!

For anyone who has ever been that badass Delia but lost their swagger a bit, this book will bring it right back. I haven't smoked a cigarette in years but after reading Delia and Kacey, I can't say I didn't think about buying some and reliving my 20's for a bit. Delia reminded me of what I've been through and who I can be again.

I'm a sucker for a second chance story and this one was done to perfection. Going into this book after reading Golden Hour: A Porch Bitches Novel I was preparing myself for there to be a reason not to like Kacey at the beginning of Wilder Days: A Porch Bitches Novel but there just.... wasn't a reason to. Chelsie Hart wrote his character so perfectly that even though there was a time apart, he wasn't a villian. He's her soulmate. And I'm happy to say that my husband has always had the same 2 for 1 rule ;)

The porch bitches warm my soul. There is no questioning their connection and friendships like that are worth their weight in gold. These aren't the people who you see every single day but they are the people who will be there in every single moment that really matters.

This book was the first to bring a tear to my eyes in quite a while. I absolutely loved seeing the crossover chapters from Delia's POV and I'm excited to get a third glimpse at those scenes through Lousie's eyes.

10/10 all the thumbs up. Great read!

You think you know fated mates
Feyre & Rhysand
Aelin & Rowan
Poppy & Casteel

But have you read Delia & Kacey?

Chelsie wrote Wilder Days (unintentionally) as a modern fated mates story in a midwest Americana aesthetic.

Delia is a spit fire. She is freedom, wild, fierce, and when she loves she loves deeply with her whole being. But to be loved by Delia is not an easy feat. She has loved many times and lost many times. So many times it’s questionable if the pain is worth it.

Kacey, he was Delia’s loved one, till he left Delia in the dust. Till he broke her heart, but took the pieces with him
It wasn’t until he had the life his dad always dreamed of, to figure out he needed to go back to Maple Creek.
His soul knew he needed Delia, it just took awhile for his head to catch up.

Chelsie writes her stories with so much love for her characters. She builds this story where you want to join. I would give my left tit to be a porch bitch. Chelsie is just that good at romanticizing what others over look. A real, true, small town. Trailers parks, diner BLT, kissing booths, tractors, and found families.
There are heart stopping one liners “Like lovin’ you was ever a choice, Wild Thing.”

But the whole story is where she thrives. The whole book invokes the deepest feelings because you know those characters through and through.

“People always say not to make someone else your whole life because that’s a lot of pressure for one person. Chances are they’ll crack under the weight of it all. I agree, wholeheartedly. But laying here now with a softly sleeping Delia in my arms, I wonder if it’s okay to just do that every once in a while. To settle into the feeling of someone helping to complete you. That you don’t have to do it all on your own anymore because the act of loving someone absolutely is enough to fill in all your cracks. All the impressions made on you by people who wanted to bring you down or, in my case, break you apart so they could put you back together the way they saw fit, they were fixed with something beautiful.”

I’ll never get enough of Chelsie’s writing. And I truly can’t wait for more

stars: 4.5/5
spice: 3/5

tropes: second chance, always been you, opposites attract, small town, boy obsessed

Oh my two babies.
From the moment we met Delia and Kacey in Golden Hour I was itching for their story. I'm a SUCKER for a second chance romance and I knew these two had a story that would make me feel things.

Delia and Kacey were in love, like big love. Then one day Kacey leaves (obvs there's a lot more to that) now he's back four years later and ready to fight to prove to Delia that he's worth a second chance.

I love love loved the banter between these two. I loved the spice. I loved the friendships between the girls and the guys. I love how Delia is sassy and takes zero sh*t. I want to have an ounce of her confidence. I loved seeing her soft side. I loved how hard Kacey loved Delia. The only thing I would have changed was I needed these two to talk it out sooner so we could all just be happy, BUT we got there and it was worth it.

Congrats to my babe Chelsie. I'm so proud of you! Another amazing story!

When we first met Delia in Golden Hour, I knew I wanted her story & would love her...and I absolutely did! What a badass! She takes no shit from anyone & will tell it like it is. And if you're so lucky to get in her good graces, well then count yourself blessed. She loves hard & will go to bat for you no matter what.

Things I loved in this book:
-the BANTER!!!!
-the SASS!!!!
-Delia being a badass feral QUEEN!!!
-Kacey being a freaking sweetheart & goner for his woman
-the GROVELING!!!!! YES!!!! I feel like too often there's not enough & man did Delia make Kacey WORK FOR IT!
-The character growth
-Literally everything

Things I didn't like:
NOT A DAMN THING!

I highly recommend reading this & I loved it so much.

*I received an ARC & this is my honest review.

I normally don’t gravitate towards second chance romances. This is definitely right people and right time - but twice.
Delia and Kasey were once each others everything, and outside circumstances drive them apart and Kasey out of town.
Their second shot at love is told with flashbacks that help you understand their history. This love story is a little messy and a little angsty. But it’s also full of heat and real heart. The characters are vulnerable even if it takes a while for them to open up.

I really liked that this one includes part of the timeline from book one. It was interesting to see a different perspective. I always love a small town romance and this one feels like a town I could step right into and be welcomed. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Thank you to the author for the early copy. All thoughts are my own.

“You have to love people loudly and without fear. Put embarrassment and pride away and make sure that, no matter the cost, the people you love know you love them.”

Wow. So I was so excited for this book and I devoured it!! Read it in under a day. And my god it was so freaking good. Everything was just so, so well done. There was so much care given to Delia and Kacey’s story. It’s written beautifully and the town and characters always feel so real. This is a small town, second chance romance and it is a little angsty, very beautiful and so precious. I’m sad I can’t read this for the first time again.

And the thing I love most of all is that these stories aren’t just the love story and nothing else. Chelsie made the porch bitches their own love story woven throughout. So rarely do I see the importance and necessity of female friendships highlighted in romance books. But it’s so beautiful and so deeply appreciated. This is one of the reasons Chelsie Hart is one of my favorite authors.

I think something that makes these books so special, to me at least, is there is this feeling of coming home and being safe. I feel like I’ve been given a soft place to land when I read this.

I get that this has read a little bit like a journal entry or a conversation with a friend, but that’s exactly the vibe I was going for because that’s the vibe of the series.

Thank you Chelsie for letting me arc read this. I’m obsessed with your words.

Delia and Kacey’s story was probably one of my favorite love stories I’ve read in a while. Chelsie pants the most beautiful picture of their love story from young love, to heartbreak and second chances.. the longing, the loss, the love/hate.. all of it.

They couldn’t be more different but they really are twin flames and I loved watching them navigate their own personal shit and find their way back to one another.

Reading Delia was like seeing myself on paper - the similarities are truly uncanny. I’m still checking my house for a hidden camera or bugs. She’s frustrating, but worth it. Hopeless, but hopeful. She’s got a temper to rival that of a 6’5” giant, but a heart of gold… and Kacey can see through all of that into those beautiful green eyes and know she’s the one for him.

And Kacey.. god I loved reading the way he worshiped Delia. From carrying around a pack of cigarettes because he missed her, to showing up with her (and mine!) favorite beverage and making sure she ate something with an actual nutritional content.. I am a Kacey stan from this point forward.

The spicy scenes were filled with so much love and at times so much angst.. I couldn’t get enough of them. Their love burns hot and fast.

I just want to close my eyes and be whisked away to that smoky, dim-lit bar and listen to Delia & Kacey sing love songs to one another.

Golden Hour was one of my favourite books of 2023 so I’ve been eagerly awaiting Delia and Kacey’s story ever since and it was worth the wait!

Chelsie has such a beautiful way with words- when reading her stories you feel like you’re there in Maple Creek with the characters and can picture everything around them so clearly which I love.

“You two have always felt sure. Written in the stars.”

Delia has not had an easy life by any stretch of the imagination, but she is fiercely loyal to her close inner circle. She was in love with Kacey when he abandoned her 4 years ago with no explanation, and now he’s back and he has his sights set on one thing- the only girl he’s ever loved. Their chemistry was clear from the first time we saw them on page together, and their connection is undeniable. There is a lot of hurt and pain in their past, but their relationship and what they mean to each other is beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing how they worked through their past and moved forward together. The epilogue was fantastic.

“See ya around, Wild Thing.”

Thank you so much Chelsie for this arc in exchange for my honest review. No pressure but I’m desperate for Beau and Louise’s story now!

Delia and Kacey. Wow. 😍

5⭐️ 3🌶️
—————————————

While Wilder Days could be read as a stand-alone, there are elements that overlap from Golden Hour (June and Grady’s story which is phenomenal), so I highly recommend reading it first. You won’t be sorry. The Illinois farmlands have never seemed so romantic. This small town romance centers on Delia Danvers, one of the three fabulous Porch Bitches as they’ve dubbed themselves (June, Delia, and Louise), and Kacey Uchitjil- her childhood love and man who broke her heart years ago. Kacey returns to town set on winning Delia’s heart back and even though one look at him sets her heart on fire, she’s determined to make him work for his forgiveness. And if you know Delia…she’s not going to make it easy.

This book had me breathless at times. The way LOVE and friendship is written is absolutely stunning. I could feel Delia’s heartbreak, I could feel Kacey’s hope…Chelsie Hart is truly gifted with words. I think the Porch Bitches are my favorite female characters ever. She made an abrasive character like Delia lovable and I was rooting for her constantly.

Delia is talented, funny and full of hope, and loves to stick it to the ones who have wronged her when she can. Her fierceness and protectiveness over the ones she loves makes her priceless to her community. She has been through so much and survived, and come out better with true friends by her side. She’s grateful for life. Delia is so fiery and bold and confident but usually only allows June and Louise to see that tender side of her, but she can’t hide it from Kacey either.

As for Kacey, in his words, there’s not a man on earth who’s loved a woman like he loves Delia. He is hopelessly in love with her. He’s thankful for every single interaction between them. He is relieved when she tells him off because it means she still cares. He feels so honored and special because she loves him. He left her years ago to protect her and he’s regretted it ever since. He was young and scared and is determined to rectify his mistakes. He’ll beg if he needs to.

There was such fire and passion in these two for each other. It was an old love that never stopped and the hurt was still close to the surface for both of them. One look after four years apart and neither of them could stay away from each other. These are two people who know each other so well- all the good parts and bad. I have never rooted so hard for two people to get together. They both were so deserving of each other’s love.

I can’t wait for Louise’s book!!

Tropes- second chance romance, small town, fabulous friend group, he’s absolutely head over heels in love with her, kick-ass FMC, rich boy/poor girl, country musicians

Thank you so much to Chelsie Hart for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

OK, this is going to be long, but I have a lot to say.
Last year I loved Chelsie’s debut Golden Hour. It was so good to be back in Maple Creek with the porch bitches. I grew up in a small town and the details and the vibes were perfect.

Delia is a feisty, strong, independent, take no shit kind of girl. She presents a hard exterior, but inside she is sweet and caring with deep-rooted abandonment issues. She really cares about the people in her town and goes out of her way to help them however they need.

Kacey is the son of the mayor and is expected to live a certain way. He left Maple Creek four years ago, leaving Delia behind without explanation. He realizes his big city life isn’t what he wants, and he comes back to the place and the person who makes him feel like himself.

With Delia feeling like everyone she loved had left her, Kacey was going to have to work for his second chance. She definitely made him work for it. The groveling this man did was top tier. And the tension between them was palpable.

There were several flashback scenes that really helped me feel their connection and the pain they endured. They have to overcome so much individually but also together. Some of it is really heavy, so please check trigger warnings.

I had a hard time writing this review. This book felt comforting and familiar to me.
While I loved Delia’s take-no shit attitude and Kacey being a total simp, it’s so much more. There is a lot of grief, healing, growth, friendship, and community. It’s really a beautiful story.

I loved getting to see more of Louise and Goldie. I can’t wait for the final porch bitch to get her happily ever after.

This part from Delia hit me right in the chest. It makes me think of my grandma and grandpa. And visiting my great uncle on his farm in the Appalachian mountains.

“But here’s what I know about country-western music. It’s deep. It’s meaningful. It’s a history lesson and an exercise in matters of the heart. If you listen to the right country song at the right time, it can fill you with some of the purest nostalgia and homesickness you’ll ever have. It’s decades of hard working coal miners and farmers and homemakers and people who had to do whatever they could to get by. It’s the soulfulness of a simple life. Sunsets in a big, uninterrupted sky. Cobblers made from blackberries picked off the wild vine in the backyard. Jars of green beans, picked, snapped, and canned by hands that have lived through war, peace, recession, prosperity, death, life, and came out on the other side worn and wrinkled, but strong as hell.”

I’m not even quite sure where to begin with how much I absolutely loved this book!
I’m obsessed with Maple Creek & all of the absolutely amazing characters that Chelsie has so carefully crafted! Wilder Days was a highly anticipated read that I couldn’t wait to dive head first into, and boy did it not disappoint!!

In this heart breaking, yet beautifully redeeming small town second chance romance. We get the opportunity to see Kacey & Delia find their way back to each other when tragedies, heart break, and life originally got in the way of their forever happiness.

Delia Danvers is a force to be reckoned with, who lives unfiltered, loud, and proud while still having a heart of gold and a love for those around her even when she is broken, battered, and bruised. Delia was dealt some crappy hands in life, but found sanctuary in Iris, and her found family June, Louise, Goldie, and at one point in time Kacey.

After leaving unexpectedly 4 years prior because of his dad, Kacey finds his way back to Maple Creek when he realizes that he truly can not live without Delia Danvers in his life, in his arms, and in his bed. But just because he is back, doesn’t mean this man doesn’t have to grovel and fight each and everyday to prove to Delia that she is and will always be the love of his life and that he doesn’t plan on going anywhere ever again.

This entire book was so freaking good, the banter, the wittiness, the one liners. There were so many times where I laughed, I awwwwed, I teared up a bit. The way that these characters truly loved each other even though their hearts were both broken and hurting was so well written it was like you could feel their hearts on the page through their entire story.

Though Delia is not like what you would expect, I wish I could bottle up Delia’s confidence and spritz it on myself every day. And her best friends, let me tell you there is just something about their love and devotion to each other that reminds you to hold people that love you in life that much closer to your heart!

Way to go Chelsie! I truly cannot wait to see what you do with Louise & Beau, but also where you go next after this series!

Thank you Chelsie Hart for my ARC of Wilder Days. 🤍 I received an ARC for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

While technically Wilder Days could be read as a standalone, you’ll get a more full Porch Bitch experience by reading Golden Hour first.

I loved Wilder Days. Period. That’s the post. This book brought me out of a slump and now I’m hung the fuck over. 😂

I love Delia and Kacey so much. I love that Delia is unapologetically herself. I love that Kacey doesn’t want to change a thing about her, he loves her so fiercely just as she is. That’s something we all want so it’s beyond relatable. The way Kacey is so gone for Delia is chefs kiss. I’m a petty bitch so I loved watching Delia make Kacey grovel. I’m not typically a second chance romance type of girl because like I said, I’m petty and I’m not afraid to take grudges to the grave. But the way this book was written, it was perfect. I ate it up. Delia and Kacey are soulmates.. no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

It’s not just Delia and Kacey I love though. I love each and every one of their found family. I love that Delia had people step up when she needed them the most. I love all the small town, found family vibes packed into this book. It’s so raw and so real and so good.

Chelsie’s writing style is top notch. The plot was so well developed and the entire book read so easily. I enjoyed Golden Hour but I loved Wilder Days. I cannot wait for Killin’ Time which is Louise and Beau’s book. The tension between them has been building all throughout the first 2 books in this series and it might just kill me but I’m so here for it.

I was pretty much in Chelsie’s DMs every day obsessing over Wilder Days because I couldn’t shut the fuck up about it! Wilder Days was such a wonderful read and I’ve found myself thinking of the characters even after finishing the book. It’s one that’s going to stick with me for awhile. It’s certainly one of my top reads this year. I already can’t wait to re-read this. Wilder Days pub date is 03/12/2024. 🎉

It’s good to be back in Maple Creek, where small town living comes to life, everyone knows your business, neighbors become family, and Burnin’ Daylight is the place to be on Friday nights.

We’re traversing the same timeline as Golden Hour, only this time it’s Delia and Kacey’s turn. Tired of living a life he never wanted, Kacey moves back home to win back the one girl that has always had his heart. He left in order to keep her safe, but he can’t go on living in black and white and desires the color that Delia brought into his life, despite what his father thinks.

This is a second chance romance done right, where the characters have both made mistakes in the past, but have grown and changed for the better because of them. Delia and Kacey might have grown up differently, but they both struggle with feelings of being unwanted and not enough. I loved the flashbacks, where we got to see the decision that lead to where they are today and why they handled things the way they did. And life ain’t easy- they both have to work for the HEA they never thought they could have together.

I loved getting to see scenes from a new perspective, especially the Kiss-a-Farmer booth and any of the SOS text events between our beloved porch bitches. Delia is definitely that friend you want in your corner. The fiercely loyal Rottweiler whose bite is as big as her bark, and has no problem telling you what you need to hear, whether you’re ready for it or not.

The found family Delia creates with Louise, Goldie, June and the rest of the McCawley’s, Minnie, Stan, Clara and Eugene has kept her going. All she’s ever wanted is a life she can take control of and these people are going to be in her life no matter what, as she is always there for everyone else!

And can we talk about those epilogues?! They were everything I wanted for Delia and Kacey, as well as the rest of the group!!! I can’t wait to head back to Maple Creek for Louise and Beau’s adventure!

ARC REVIEW

First of all, I just wanted to say thank you so much to Chelsie for giving me an ARC of Wilder Days, book two in the Porch Bitches series.

I interviewed Chelsie last year, not long after Golden Hour was released and she is so lovely, I was very excited to read Wilder Days.

Wilder Days follows the story of Delia and Kacey when Kacey returns home to Maple Creek and old feelings resurface. It's a second-chance, opposites attract romance and it was so good. Delia is a no-nonsense woman, who is unapologetically herself in every sense of the word. She is loud, outspoken and not afraid to be honest, but she is also fiercely loyal, protective and vulnerable, no matter how hard she tries to hide it.

Kacey comes from old money but is back and he is here to stay. He left to protect the woman he loves but now he's returned, he's not going to let her go. Kacey is charming, a hard-worker, an expert groveller, and only for Delia. Because we meet both characters in Golden Hour, I was already looking forward to their story and then when I began reading - Chelsie it's so good!

I loved the ups and downs Delia and Kacey had as individuals but also as a couple. The book builds up their characters in their own worlds before forcing them together and letting the conflict and events unravel naturally. There are flashbacks interspersed throughout the novel, which fill in the past for the reader, giving even more an insight into the characters.

Wilder Days' narrative runs parallel to that of Golden Hours and it was actually really nice to see both stories unfolding at the same time and to get a different perspective of events, for example the Fall Fest, more specifically the kissing booth and the events afterwards - iykyk.

There was a moment where I felt a character's response could have gone a bit further and been a bit more punchy (no pun intended), but overall, I did enjoy this book.

I have loved watching Chelsie's journey as an author evolve and I can't wait to read Louise and Beau's book because the hints in Wilder Days for that couple

Thank you again Chelsie!

Delia and Kasey were inseparable. He was the rich kid mayors son and she was the poor trailer park girl with no family. Despite it all they were it for each other. That was until Kasey broke her heart and left. Now Delia isn’t your typical heartbroken girl. She’s a fighter and she picked herself back up and kept going. That is until four years later Kasey rolls back into town with one goal…gettting her back. But with all the time and secrets he’s hiding, would she be foolish to trust him again?

I have been craving Delia’s book since Golden Hour. I loved her sassy strong idgaf attitude and I couldn’t wait to see how she made Kasey work for it. And man did she make him work for it. I hate in second chance romance where the fmc is a doormat and just lets him waltz in, past be damned. But Delia wasn’t having that. She wanted to use Kasey for what he could give her and make him work for the rest. She also didn’t hang around for four years waiting for him to return. She lived her life and got hers.

Kasey is the perfect golden retriever book boyfriend. Even when he messed up in the past it was always about harm reduction and trying to put Delia first the only way he knew how. While I didn’t enjoy the other woman drama, it was thankfully brief and not a major plot point. It’s hard to imagine Kasey with anyone else given what an absolute simp he was for Delia…and like honestly I can’t blame him I’m half in love with her myself.

They say sophomore books can be the toughest but I think Chelsie really knocked this one out of the park. So far both books in the Porch Bitches series have blown me away and I’m hoping for all the delicious angst and tension in book 3!

Thanks so much to Chelsie for an early copy to review ❤️

“Life is hard and people are loud. It’s special to find people who will sit with you in the quiet.”

There is something uniquely special about Chelsie’s writing. This is the second story in the Porch Bitches series. The timeline runs parallel to Golden Hour but nothing feels repetitive and you get answers to the questions that were sparked. Of course she also has you anxiously awaiting Louise’s story now too. In Golden Hour the town is the heartbeat- an additional character. In Wilder Days, it’s the music. It ties so many of the characters together and breathes life into their blood.
Something I can’t walk away without acknowledging is that Delia is a fierce character. She is a powerhouse who speaks her mind and doesn’t take shit from anyone. We love her for it. But what we have to remember is that little girls with Delia’s fire are often told that they are too much, they have no tact, they aren’t lady-like. Protect the Delia’s in your life. The world needs more Delia’s. They are vulnerable and tender- hearted and need to not let their fire get blown out.
Ultimately this series is about soul mates. It’s about understanding people and seeing the depth of who they are at their core and believing in them when they don’t believe in themselves. It’s rooting for them when they find their forever partner- because soul mates are not always your romantic loves.

I am not sure I will have words to adequately express this book. But I tried. Just go read it.
Plus Kacey is SO gone for Delia.

Special thanks to Chelsie for sharing this advanced digital reviewer copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

“𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻’ 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.”

You know those books that just feel like they resonate with you effortlessly? This book just had it all for me. A strong FMC, a near perfect setting that felt like home, two characters with depth, and a plot line I was invested in from the beginning.

I fell for Delia in Golden Hour so I have been anticipating this release for some time. It was the second chance romance I was hoping for on all accounts!

The love I have for Delia! I admired her personality and how true to herself and unapologetic that she was. She’s so strong and persevered despite being dealt such a tough hand in life. Granted she didn’t do it alone, so many people in the special little community of Maple Creek stepped up for and supported her. It’s truly one of my favorite pieces of a great small town romance. In addition to that, this series has my favorite girl gang of all time! I cannot even shake my excitement for Louise and her story next.

Last but not even remotely least, Kacey. Like whoa! Give me all the groveling from this man please. A man that takes care of the people you love and loves you for being exactly who you are. One that protects your heart at the expense of their own. And he sings Randy Travis songs.. what else could we possibly ask for?!

… 𝘀𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝗔𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜’𝗺 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗻. 𝗔 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

If you love small town romance, you NEED this series in your life!

Found Family

Back on the Porch we meet Delia, 1/3 of the girl gang, strong sturdy and willing to fight whoever for her girls. Underneath her rough and tough exterior lies a girl who’s had everyone disappoint her with their leaving, including her first love Kacey U. As children and teens Delia and Kacey were thick as thieves born of two different tracks. Born into a pretentious founding family of Maple Creek, the only time Kacey has ever felt truly himself is with Delia by his side. When he returns to Maple Creek after breaking Delia’s heart, he knows he has to win her back to live his life how he wants.

Y’all this book had me bawling💖 Between the flash backs and the present scenes one thing was for sure, Delia and Kacey are soulmates. There was nothing that could have kept them apart. I loved the banter Delia had with anyone she came across. She was a no BS kinda girl and I resonate with that. I loved that you still got a ton of interactions with June and Louise. I really thought it was a nice timeline idea that it ran at the same timeline as the first book but in Delia’s day to day life. Thank you to Chelsie for giving us the opportunity to read this early! ✨stay tuned for its full release March 12th✨

ARC Review. Honest opinion only.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tropes to expect here:
-Second Chance
-Rich Boy x Poor Girl
-Secret Tattoo
-Found Family
-Both are Musicians
-It’s Always Been You
-Small Town
-Dual Timeline (flashbacks)

This book. This book has me in a chokehold. Like for real. This highly emotional Second Chance romance hit the spot (and then some) and I don’t think I’ll be over it for a long time coming.

Delia and Kacey have all of the emotional scars you could dream up. They’ve been through it all; god awful parents, loss, heartbreak etcetera etcetera. Despite this, they don’t avoid loving others, and loving others FIERCELY. Their love story was messy and beautiful and… everything.

They bring the banter. They bring the spice. They bring the swoon. They bring the heat. They bring the tears - boy did I ugly cry and then some more. I don’t think I could have asked them to deliver more?

If there’s one thing I couldn’t love more, it’s a girl gang friendship with the best vibes ever, and Chelsie delivered hard with the Porch Bitches. Delia and June and Louise (and little Goldie) had me cackling and feeling all of the feels. I am obsessed.

The dual timeline in this book was executed perfectly, with the flashbacks filling all of the gaps in the here and now. I haven’t read Golden Hour, book 1 in this series, but this story runs alongside that and I definitely want to go and read it at some point soon, because the breadcrumbs are looking DELICIOUS.

Thank you to Chelsie for the ARC of Wilder Days. You’ve found a new fangirl and I look forward to the ride.

She has done it again y’all. Wilder Days is the complete package with so much originality you won’t want to put it down!

If you read Golden Hour then you knew Delia’s book was going to be full of spitfire, bad words and a tough baddy. Chelsie has given us the ultimate real girl, the one we’ve all known once in blue lives or have wanted to be.

She doesn’t come from money, or anything at all technically, but she knows who she is and what she wants. Delia is a force to be reckoned with daily and her perfect match is Kacey <3

While their story isn’t one that is uncommon, the way Chelsie wrote them is unlike anything else. I am truly blown away by the small original details that make this sooooo good y’all!

I loved this book but the doghouse moment was one of my favorites.

Also, can we talk about miss ma’am giving us life with this spice!? Woooweee was it steamy! The mouth on these two is down right sinful and I was here for every moment of it.

I absolutely cannot wait for book 3!

Kacey & Delia

These two took me on a wild ride of emotions and through some heavy topics too. They have such a rich history together that is so full of love and sadness. Delia is a spitfire and she tells it like it is. Kacey is a total golden retriever who is back in town after 4 years to find himself again.

Their relationship now that Kasey is back is so hot and cold at times. Delia struggled to let him back in and rightfully so but they didn’t really talk about what happened which leads to some serious tension and drama. The way Chelsie also wrote the story with flashbacks chapters was brilliant. Each chapter revealed a little more about their past that is coming back up in their present.

My heart hurt so much for Delia when we learn about their past and their loss and they it hurt again when Sophie showed up. Thankfully Delia made that man grovel and it was such a good grovel too. Chelsie did an incredible job writing such a heavy story that had the perfect balance of lightness too. You can’t help but go on that emotional journey with them while you read.

Wilder Days by Chelsie Hart

I absolutely devoured this book!!! It hit all the right buttons — sassy and strong ladies, strong and swoon worthy men and a wonderful bunch of supporting characters that made you want to live in Maple Creek!

Chelsie Hart was able to create strong and like-able characters so that even when they were being dealing with their own trauma you were rooting for them. In this world she created the best kind of small town/ found family. Who doesn’t want to be able to walk down the street to their best friends house? Who doesn’t want to have the best cute and funny neighbors who look after you? Who doesn’t want the most handsome and love of your life to fight for you? A lot times books are missing something … they either have an abundance of smut and lack plot and depth. Or they have depth but leave you wanting more steamy scenes. This book was able to combine enough dirty talk and steamy scenes along with a plot that kept you enthralled the whole time. I can’t wait to read more from this author!!!

“You have to love people loudly and without fear. Put embarrassment and pride away and make sure that, no matter the cost, the people you love know you love them.”

“Life’s too short to not to give people your all.”

“And I’m struck that this is what friendship is. We’re all scared of something or other, but the willingness to share that fear, to speak it into existence and let someone help carry the load, is a bond I hope everyone has the honor to experience at least once in their life.”

I enjoyed this one just as much if not more than Golden Hour. I couldn’t wait for Delia. There wasn’t much fluff here. The story was told without fillers or feeling like word counts were just trying to be met. It was just right for me. Yes it was a love story but, in more ways than just the romantic kind.

Delia is my spirit animal. I want to know her. Be her.
Kacey. The way he loves her is perfect.

The real world would be so much nicer if everyone was a part of a Porch Bitch, imo.

Sometimes you pick up a book and the story and the characters just resonate with you. This was that book for me. Delia and Kacey's story was all consuming and poignant and delicious. Chelsie's writing is beautiful and poignant, and I could not put this book down.

Delia has overcome so much in her life and it is a testament to her strength and her mentality of life. In the beautiful way that Delia was written, I was on the porch with Delia, June and Louise and experiencing this story with them. She was down to earth, she was strong, but she was tender and loving. She was all in for her friends and family, and she loved hard. So hard, that when Kacey comes back, she is torn on what to do next.

Kacey, this man was a shell of a seed who came to life when he came back home. He blossomed in Delia's light and love, even when he may not have been completely worthy of it. But his grovel is one of my favorites I have read and I enjoyed the tug and pull between Kacey and Delia.

Wrapped in the funny banter between friends, and the spicy times, Wilder Days delves deep into emotional situations that no teenager should be faced with, but are. And Chelsie handled the situations with such delicacy. This book was beautiful through and through, from the love story between Delia and Kacey to the realistic elements of small town life and finding happiness in spite of those challenges.

Chelsie continues to amaze me. I fell in love with her writing in Golden Hour, but boy did Wilder Days blow me away. Her world building and imagery, the way she makes me want to highlight every single sentence (which is saying something for me because I am NOT an annotator), can I please be the fourth member in the Porch Bitches girl gang??

I knew I was going to love Delia's story. The little snippets of her relationship with Kacey in Golden Hour had me yearning to read their story and see their HEA. I was not disappointed in the slightest. Delia is that woman that we all strive to be - the woman who takes no s*** and stands up for herself and those she cares about. She's strong, resilient, outspoken in the best way. Kacey matches her energy and is her man, through and through.

This second chance romance is one that will forever be on my top reads list and is my top read of 2024 thus far. Chelsie, your writing has my heart. I can not wait for Louise and Beau's story.
