He’s willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for their love.

Growing up with absent parents, the only family Archer Bennett has ever known were his sister and her best friend Thea. And he was certain that no matter what path his life would take, he’d always have them by his side.

But life doesn’t always go as planned.

And instead of living the life he dreamed of with the two people he loved most, he walks away from his family and ends up working for Locked Security, a firm that specializes in hostage situations and personal protection.

Thea Barlowe learned from an early age that to survive, she had to do whatever was necessary. When she gets an offer that would change her life, she jumps at the chance. Even if it means marrying a man almost double her age.

When Thea is in danger, her husband hires Locked Security to keep her safe. And her new bodyguard is someone she knows well. Archer.

There’s nothing Archer wouldn’t do for the only woman he’s ever loved. Even if she’s now married to another man.

Note from the author: This is the third book in the Locked Security Series and can be read as a standalone. There is no cheating (I promise) and the main couple gets their HEA in this book. This book has originally been published under the pen name Sarah Peis.

CHARGE is the third instalment in Senna Kincaid’s contemporary, adult LOCKED SECURITY romantic suspense series focusing on the men who work for LOCKED SECURITY. This is former US Army soldier Archer Bennett, and Thea Barlowe’s story line. CHARGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading book two DECEPTION for some back story and cohesion. Archer is Everleigh Bennett Costa’s brother (Deception 2).

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

CHARGE by Senna Kincaid was originally published under the pen name Sarah Peis

Told from dual first person perspectives (Thea and Archer) CHARGE follows the childhood friends to lovers between our story line couple. Years earlier, in the wake of abuse and neglect at home, Thea sought refuge with her best friend Everleigh Bennett, and her brother Archer but Archer would eventually enlist in the army, pulling away from everyone he loved upon his return. A rescue mission at sea finds Archer face to face with the woman he has always loved, a woman who is now married to someone else. Enter Thea Barlowe, whose life is nothing like she had ever expected. When threats against Thea and her husband become personal, Thea’s husband William hires Locked Security, and in doing, once again brings Thea face to face with the man who broke her heart. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and growing romance between Thea and Archer, and the potential fall-out as the past refuses to let go.

The world building takes the reader from the past to the present in which we are up close and personal with the abuse and mistreatment of our story line heroine. Finding safety with the Bennett family, Thea would fall in love with a man who would eventually break her heart. Desperate to escape the horrors back home, Thea would marry a man twice her age but a man who is willing to protect a woman who cannot love him back.

The relationship between Thea and Archer is a childhood friends to lovers in which their rekindling friendship would break through years of doubt and perceived abandonment for our story line heroine. Archer’s return from service in Guyana left our hero a shell of his former self, eventually pulling away from everyone he loved. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are dynamic and familiar. We are reintroduced to Everleigh Bennett Costa, Gunner and Freya (Stealth 1), as well as the introduction of William Barlowe, Ciel; security specialists Devon, and Carter.

CHARGE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is intriguing, engaging and captivating but the conflict resolution was too quick, and everything was solved behind the scenes and off page; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are charismatic and dynamic.

Archer was part of Locked Securities' Falcon Team and they were checking their gear before jumping out of a plane and into the frigid water for a hostage situation on a yacht. They had no idea what type of situation they were running into as they took the leap.

What he didn't expect was to recognize the woman who he was helping off the floor after she had been beaten by the men they had just taken down. Thea...his sister's best friend who cut all contact with him when he left for college and who he had worshiped growing up.

She had always thought of Archer as her best friend Everliegh's little brother, but that all changed when he turned eighteen. She felt such disgust with herself for her feelings for her best friend's younger brother that she cut off all contact with him hoping it would pass. But, as the grown man helps her off the floor she realizes just how wrong she was. Despite being fully covered in combat gear she knew that voice and the eyes looking at her through the mask...and her attraction is just as strong as it was before.

Everleigh and Archer had been her salvation. Whenever her mother would go into a violent rage, which was often, she would escape through the trailer window and make her way to the nicer side of town to their house until things cooled down. Instead of appreciating Thea working at the local diner in order to make sure the rent and utilities were paid, her mother was doing everything she could to force Thea to work at the local strip club to pay off her mother's debt.

But, Thea would do anything to keep from following her mother's footsteps. Now her life was in danger and her husband has hired Archer to be her personal bodyguard.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. I have read Sarah Peis in the past but this series is totally different from the rom-com series Sweet Dreams.

Thea grew up with a narcissistic mother from the wrong side of the tracks that had no problem with selling off her daughter to pay her debts. But, Thea had other plans for her life and escaped as soon as she could when she was proposed to by a rich older man. An older man with a secret life.

This book is action-packed from beginning to end. It is full of suspense, danger and smoking hot chemistry. I highly recommend this book and Sarah Peis. Although I loved her rom-coms, this book is hands down the best I have read.

Archer works for Locked Security and often goes on assignments which include rescuing hostages and high level clientele from dangerous situations.

Right in that first scene, we are smack dab in the middle of a rescue operation and I felt like I too was a secret operative working to rescue the hostages.
I felt the thrill in the face of a dangerous situation but also felt like being the saviour for the innocent people waiting for one.

Archer is part of the team and is extremely shocked to find out, his forever crush and his sister's bestie, Thea present among the captives.

There can't be anything between them as Thea is a married woman and no matter his feelings, Archer could never cross that line.

But things become tricky when Archer is asked to be on bodyguard duties by his firm for none other than for one of their prestigious client's wife, Thea. Archer is left with no option to accept this job because of his circumstances.

Ok, here it could have been tricky but I felt like Ms.kincaid did a spectacular work of writing this story in a way that you will end up loving each and every character even Thea's husband and Yes, as our author promised there is absolutely no cheating involved.

But yeah, the chemistry between Thea and Archer is fire and I could feel their yearning and wanting to be with each other and having to struggle with their unresolved feelings.
Especially for Archer, I could feel his struggles for wanting to separate his job and keeping his forever feelings for Thea aside.

William, Thea's husband was amazing as I really liked how he was with her and the way he always supported and looked out for Thea. Then there's Thea's bestie, Everleigh who was smashing as a friend.

Archer was an 𝖠𝗌𝗌 at times but I get that after going through what he went through, he needed to work out things on his own.

A tale full of Passion & unfulfilled yearnings of a love that you can't ever have and sprinkled with high voltage action made this one a spectacular ride. Loved this one. 💗

Archer comes from a wealthy family, but on the flip side, his parents weren't there for him. He spent his time with his sister, Everleigh (Deception Book 2), and her best friend, Thea. He had a crush on Thea but the timing wasn't right since he was younger, and then she got married. He went through some things which caused some serious damage to the point that he didn't talk to his family anymore, but things took a new turn when he ended up working for Locked Security. Thea had a terrible childhood which made her willing to do anything to survive, and her only bright spot growing up was spending time with her best friend, and best friend's brother, Asher. Her life changed when she was made an offer she couldn't refuse, and got married. She & Archer come face to face again when she gets caught in the crossfire of danger so Archer ends up as her bodyguard and these days the sparks are definitely flying but can he keep her safe? I LOVED this story so much as it had everything I love in books with the suspense bringing the twists in hot, heat, intense emotional goodness, humor, and a great supporting cast. I'm completely hooked on Senna Kincaid's writing style and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wow, I was looking forward to Archer’s story and Ms. Kincaid did not disappoint me. If you read book 2 in the series (Deception, Everleigh & Lucius’s story) you met Archer. He is Everleigh’s brother who disappeared while on a trip in Guyana. He is now working for Lock Security, the men who not rescued him but have given him a chance at a great career using his “special skills” but have given him a fresh start at life, even if it is riddled with nightmares. But when he is sent to guard Thea Barlowe, his best friend and old flame while growing up, he is truly tested. Not only is Thea the only woman he has ever loved, she is now a married woman. A woman who is caught in the crosshairs of some very bad people.

It’s no doubt Archer will protect Thea with everything he’s got, but will either of them come out of it unscathed and their hearts in tack? This is an excellent, suspenseful, romantic read. I highly recommend it as well as the first two books in the Locked Security series.

This is the third book in this impressive series, and this is Archer and Thea’s journey.
Thea suffered a horrific childhood, and to escape she sought refuge with her best friend and her brother Archer. When life does not go to plan Archer leaves everything he loves behind and breaks Thea’s heart in the process. Thea is desperate to escape her home life and marries a man almost twice her age. When Thea’s life is in danger, her husband hires Locked Security for protection, and Archer is her new bodyguard.
This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, childhood friends / lovers, sacrifices, danger, suspense, intrigue, heartbreak, betrayal, vengeance, forgiveness, undeniable chemistry, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, twisted, and steamy page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was a new to me author and I overall enjoyed this book.
Tropes include:
🩶best friends brother
💙security firm
🩶reverse age gap
💙romantic suspense

This is the story of Archer and Thea. Our MMC m, Archer, works as a security agent for a private company called Locked Security.
Thea, our FMC, is in a fake marriage with William. Due to threats and business dealings
William hires Locked security for private security for Thea. Archer is sent and unbeknownst to William he grew up with Thea.

I thought this was a fairly fast paced book.
And although I enjoyed the book I thought the suspense aspect kinda ended abruptly for my taste but still a well written and good book.
This book is part of Locked Security series and even though characters overlap this book can be read as a standalone.
An enjoyable read if you like these tropes.
Thank you to give me books for allowing me to read and review in advance

This is the third installment in the Locked Security series and it did not disappoint! This one is focused on Archer and Thea. Archer disappeared in Guyana, and once rescued by the men of Locked Security, they offered him a job. His assignment? Protect his teenage crush. Except she's married, and the marriage isn't what it seems to be. The husband met some people he shouldn't have, and now the wife is in danger. Can Archer overcome his past to focus on protecting the one woman he's loved? In a world of grey, and the enemy is more than one, Archer has to find a path to keep himself alive and his assignment must be a success. This romantic suspense series is amazing, and Archer's story will keep you awake to find out the ending.

I have been looking forward to Archer’s story, and it did not disappoint!! We remember him from Deception as Everleigh’s brother that had disappeared in Guyana. Well, when the guys from Locked Security rescue him they offer him a job with his particular skill set. He is sent to guard Thea, who he has a history with. He will do anything and everything to protect Thea even though she is married now. What will he do?

Charge by Senna Kincaid is book Three in the Locked Security Series. This is the story of Archer and Thea. This is a interconnecting series. Thea is best friends with Everleigh who is Archer's sister. So they have some history. Thea ends up marrying and older man who ends up hiring Archer to be her bodyguard which starts a second chance for them. Enjoyed.

Romantic Suspense

When I read Deception (book 2) I was intrigued to find out what had happened with Archer. So I couldn’t wait to dive into this story. Now he’s working for Lock Security, and his new mission is to protect his sister’s best friend, Thea. Who I also really liked from the previous book. These two have history, and sparks fly.
Their story was another exciting read for this series.
