Taking Tessa

Tessa Murphy
He saved me from a future worse than hell
I never stopped thinking about him after that
Even when I was in a totally different country, I felt close to him
Now he’s offering to save me again
Arranged marriage isn’t supposed to be part of the mafia anymore
But that doesn’t stop my parents from forcing me down the aisle
Vowing to obey Ronan Gilroy might be a huge mistake
Or it could be the best thing that ever happened to me

Ronan Gilroy
I live and breathe for her
Ever since I rescued her from that cell, I’ve vowed to protect her
And I’ll do whatever it takes
From the moment we say I do, everything changes
It’s supposed to be temporary
But now that she’s mine, I don’t think I can let her go
She’s safe with me, and I’ll do anything to keep it that way
Even if she doesn’t always like it

Taking Tessa is the perfect finale to the Syndicate Kings series! Ronan has always been the protector, and when it comes to Tessa—his sister’s best friend—there’s no way he’ll let her be hurt again. After rescuing her from a terrifying kidnapping, he watches over her from afar. But when she returns to Seattle and her parents try to marry her off in a shady deal, Ronan steps in again—this time, for good.

Their chemistry is intense, their connection undeniable, and just when they start finding their way to each other, danger strikes again. Action, romance, and a fiercely protective hero—this book has it all! A perfect end to the series, and I already want to reread it!

I’m so glad Ronan and Tessa got their happy endings.

We first learned about Tessa in one of the Shadow Daddies books. She had been kidnapped and trafficked. Her name was found on a list of women who had been taken and sold. We learned then that she was Declan’s sister’s best friend.

Now, it has been 6 years. Ronan had been the one to find and rescue Tessa all those years ago. She’s been in college in Ireland with Paige, Ronan’s and Declan’s sister.

Ronan has been obsessed with Tessa for 6 years and has made frequent trips to Ireland to check on her, without her knowing.

She now has a strained relationship with her parents. They don’t know how to deal with her or the trauma she went through. She’s returned home after college and they are treating her differently.

She’s no longer their daughter, but a commodity. Her dad, who retired from working with Declan, is forcing her to marry the son of his new partner in this new venture he is working on. Why? Because they spent $50k trying to find her and they think she should do this to pay them back.

Tessa tells Paige who then barges into Declan’s office and tells him and the rest of the guys to fix it. Ronan goes over and tells her parents she is marrying him. If this is about how much was spent on her rescue, he spent millions to find her.

Here’s my problem with this set up. There needed to be more conflict with this. What deal did her dad have? Who was his partner? What was his partner’s reaction to her getting married to someone else? Who was the son? Why was she requested to marry the son?

This seemed like it could have been important, as the conflict for the story. Instead, it was pretty much a non issue. It didn’t really go anywhere. I thought this would have been a lead up to finding out Smoke was his partner or the partner’s son. It feels like this was a missed opportunity.

I did appreciate the introduction to the brothers who will be the next series. However, I’m still waiting on Alessandro’s book. Are we getting books with the other heads of mafia?

This is a Daddy Dom book. However, there’s no real DD/lg involved in this. Yes, she’s given rules. Yes, he spanks her. Yes, she calls him “Daddy”. That’s as far as it goes though. There is no nursery set up and no age play. So if you’re looking for that, read her Shadow Daddies series.

Ronan and Tessa have had a connection for 6 years, from the time he rescued her. She had a childhood crush on him even before that. I’m not sure of the actual age gap. At one point she mentioned she was 8 and he was in his 20s, when she first had a crush on him. So, there’s at least 12 years between them.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It finished this series off well. It also finished off a storyline that was first introduced in another series completely. The main characters were well developed. We found out the names of the next new series MMCs. I do recommend this, but really feel like you need to read all the previous books first, as this builds onto those.

while I like this book series it was also frustrating/confusing. I like the characters themselves and the plot line/storyline. The characters are fun, sassy, bratty, dominant, protective and caring. But there was so much missing from this book series for example these girls didn't act little but instead acted like fun sassy brats. There was no real age-play no playroom, toys and intimate care which surprised me because Kate's daddies of the shadows series and west coast daddies series dived deep into young age-play. This series felt more like a drat/drat tamer series. I was also frustrated/confused because nikolaia didn't take over as Russian Mafia boss instead some random guy named Alexi took over. Also why did Patrick get added to the top 7 but didn't get his own book than when we read the last book all the sudden Patrick is with a girl that was never mentioned until the last book like she was just a character that belonged but we had no background on her. Adding Anastasia on felt so abrupt and rushed and very confusing. Also why didn't Paige get a book and why was she flirting with Alessandro. And lastly in book 6 of the daddies of the shadows it was said that Maddox gave Declan the flashdrive Brynn stole from her ex that had info of trafficed girls including info that Tessa was sold to someone in new York but that was never mentioned in this series and in this series Tessa was recused from Argentina. Even with all these errors and frustrating/confusing things I still like this book series I like the characters cause they were really fun but all the missing stuff just weighed down the book series. I still recommend reading daddies of the shadows and west coast daddies if you want a really good young age-play series that has good plots/story lines and great characters.

Really good after the halfway mark. Some missing details as well.

It’s taken me a while to read this book as I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I loved it but only after about 50%. I’m not ultra keen on men that fight themselves about their feelings, and Ronan definitely fights it. There were a lot of details missing and it was confusing at times. Tessa is living in Ireland for either 4 years or 6 years. Where does she live when she’s there? Does she have any family or friends over there? She’s 17 when she’s kidnapped, so does she go to university in Ireland?

The beginning of the book is really good as Ronan is searching for Tessa who has been taken by traffickers. The rescue is really good, then it jumps forward to six years later, and Ronan keeps flying to Dublin to watch Tessa. He won’t admit that he’s obsessed with her. Tessa is really struggling so when she goes back to America it’s made a lot worse for her as her parents very obviously don’t care about her, and try to force her into an arranged marriage. Ronan steps in and proposes that he marries her and that after two years they’ll get divorced. Of course they’re soon madly in love and he’s her daddy. I didn’t like it that yet again it’s the woman doing the pursuing in the relationship. I wanted Ronan to sweep Tessa off her feet, instead she has to almost chase him.

There’s not much s*x either and it’s not that hot what little there is, sadly. There’s a tiny tiny bit of danger which I wish was longer.

One more final complaint. Why is there no book about Ronan’s sister and the Italian don? That would have been brilliant.

Really good but took too long to get going, and not keen on men fighting their feelings.

In one way, I'm sad this series is ending with this book but in another way, I'm thrilled for the sneak peaks of coming stories. Ronan helped rescue Tessa years ago. She is his sister's best friend and from the day he rescued her, he has never forgotten about her. Now she's back and even though he tries to deny his attraction to her, all the others can see it. Even all the girls! LOL When Tessa's parents want her to marry some guy to help the family out, Ronan decides to make his move. He still doesn't think he's into her but we all know how that is going to go. He offers to marry her to "save" her and then he says he'll let her go when she's ready. NOT!!! Watching these two come together was pure joy! I loved seeing all the girls, their men and seeing new characters that will be getting stories in the future!! Oh, just wanted to mention that I really did NOT like her parents!! ;) You need to get this book and don't be too sad with this series ending because there is another one coming up that I know I'm going to love!!! Wonder if I should "claim" Cash as mine before anyone else does? LOL

🖤Mafia
🖤Arranged Marriage
🖤Best Friend’s Brother
🖤Daddy Dom

Taking Tessa in the sixth and final book of the Syndicate Kings series of interconnected standalones. I am so sad that this series is coming to an end and that I have to say goodbye to these characters! Tessa hasn’t had an easy life. She was kidnapped six years ago and her best friend’s brother, Ronan, and the rest of the mafia brotherhood, helped to find her and rescue her. Now six years later she moves back home to find out her father needs her to marry into another family to help him out. When Ronan hears about it he steps in and decides to marry her instead to save her from having to marry a stranger.

I loved Ronan and Tessa so much! I loved how possessive and protective he is of her and how he has helped her heal. I also love the found family aspect with the brotherhood and all their girls. I can’t wait until Paige gets her story though! Hopefully we will get more of Ronan and Tessa when she does!

LOVED THIS BOOK

This is the final book of the Syndicate Kings series of interconnected standalones. I’m so sad to see them go. I loved all of the stories and all of them men were just perfect, and Ronan was no different.

"ɪᴛ'ꜱ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅᴏ. ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ'ᴍ ʙᴜɪʟᴛ ꜰᴏʀ.
ɪ ᴘʀᴏᴛᴇᴄᴛ ᴡʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ᴍɪɴᴇ."

Tessa has been through so much! There’s darker moments to this book. Tessa is a strong fmc and I really loved her. Ronan was obsessed from the start and he is all about her. He’s obsessive, protective and very jealous!

The plot was amazing. There’s suspense, and revenges! If you want a sweet romance with lots of swoon worthy moments, pick this book up!

I love an overprotective male MC and when that man also happens to be a super sexy Daddy, I am all in! TAKING TESSA is the sixth and final book in Kate Oliver’s Syndicate Kings series and was a deliciously sweet and sexy Daddy dom/ Little girl romance.

Having saved Tessa from a horrible situation, Ronan has become obsessed with her. He could not stay away from his sister’s best friend and from the shadows, made sure she was always safe. I loved this about him. The way he loved her before even realising that he was madly in love with her, was everything. Tessa’s life was forever changed when she was held captive by traffickers, trying to find herself again was not easy but Ronan was there for her. Watching their relationship evolve made this the unputdownable read that it is.

I loved this book and I love this series! I’m giving both the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

What a perfect ending to this incredible series! I’ve loved each story and fell in love with the characters. Just like I did with Ronan and Tessa. This story made me a bit emotional and I may have needed a few tissues. But that just shows me how amazingly talented this author is to make me so invested in her characters. Tessa went thru something no one ever should and Ronan was stopping at nothing to save her. But as their paths drifted, they never forgot each other. So when Tessa comes back to town, all bets are off, Ronan is bound and determined to make Tessa his. I enjoyed the journey I was taken on thru their budding relationship. I rooted for them throughout! I laughed at their witty banter and I cried when Tessa was having a tough time. The chemistry between these two is smoking hot and I swear I felt my fingers burn as I turned the pages. Such a delightful series and such an emotional ending. Bravo to this author!

Awe what an amazing ending to this series!!! I loved Tessa and Daddy Ronan so much. The chemistry between these two was outstanding and knowing when Tessa went through and him saving her was so perfect! It was as if they were just meant to be. Watching Tessa struggle with being home in a place that didn’t change and feeling like she couldn’t move on was upsetting and then finding out her parents intentions for her was maddening!! I was so happy Ronan step in to help her and protect her. These two were both kidding themselves on it just being temporary and when they both realized it was so much more it was adorable. Ronan put everything into their dynamic and anyone who got in the way was quickly removed from the situation. And then finally getting the revenge Tessa deserved on the disgusting man who hurt her was fire. What an absolutely amazing book and series all together seeing them all come together at the end was legend and I cannot wait to read more DDlg books by this author!!!

Brilliant book but how can you do this to me???

I couldn't believe it when my shadow brother book boyfriends all left me though I was devastated I was at least able to prepare myself for the loss. Then the West coast men were a glimmer of sunshine in my life but as amazing as they were they up and left. Now out of nowhere my Irish mafia are leaving me I was preparing to let go after Paige had her story but nooooooo I opened up the story only to find out I have to say goodbye to early ( I will still be rereading all of the series but it's still not the same lol) I loved Ronan and Tessa truer love being found with these two. I also have hate hate Tessa's parents with so much passion. You will never regret picking up a Kate Oliver book laughing all the way to the piranhas take lol. Bring on the Savage brothers.

Ronan and Tessa

Tessa was taken at teenager and spent months missing. Ronan vows to bring her home. Months after coming up empty and millions spent, he finally finds her and rescues her. Shortly after Tessa moves to Ireland for college with her best friend Paige and Rona's little sister.

Ronan takes several secret trips over the years to keep an eye on Tessa, to make sure she's ok and to help keep her safe. When he isn't there he has bodyguards watching her.

After graduation Tessa and Paige move back to Seattle. After Tessa's parents drop the arraigned marriage bomb on her, Ronan steps in and marries her instead. Together they navigate their feelings for each other and once they finally decide to stop the fighting the attraction, they give their relationship a real change. Tessa gets a contract to help redesign a casino in Vegas, of course Ronan goes with her. During her trip she spots the man who took her years ago, and Ronan vows to end him.

Great story line and spice!

This is Ronan's story. First, I'm pretty certain I've missed some things even though I've read the series - Patrick and Annastasia and Alessandro and Paige. That aside, Ronan is actually a great guy who has feelings and truly emulates the characteristics of protection, loving, etc. that the daddy Dom is supposed to encapsulate. He doesn't have the chauvinistic attitude that came across at times in others. Tessa was taken early, and Ronan found her and pulled her out. He's been in love with her since then. Tessa is a strong female lead who has been through trauma. This is a good story and unlike the others. The closest is Keiran's. Voluntarily leaving feedback after reading through kindle unlimited.

This was a great ending to this amazing series. I’ve enjoyed every single one of these characters and will definitely miss them.

I’ve been intrigued by Ronan since the beginning of this series and it was so worth the wait finally getting his story. I’ve loved every man in this series and the way they take care of their women, but Ronan was something different. The absolute way he went feral making sure Tessa was safe and always giving her reassurances did something for me.

Tessa was such an amazing character with great character growth. The way she was able to finally stand up for herself against certain people was admirable.

I’m going to miss these characters, but I’m so excited to see what else comes from this author!!

honestly i think this was the best book in the whole series. but it seriously should’ve been like the fourth or fifth instead of the last. they completely dropped the main plot line of the red dragon stuff for two books and then picked it up in this one. random characters were disappeared and then reappeared in this book, characters disappeared entirely by the 4th book, and one character appeared with no context and it took me halfway through the book to figure out who she was. there’s just a lot of inconsistencies i think. also a lot of repeated lines between the books i’ve noticed, or sentences that are very similar to ones that were already said in a previous book. this series as a whole was fine, but it could’ve been so much better with the proper execution.

Ms Kate Oliver is at it again! Make sure you read your triggers! This was my favorite book so far in the Syndicate Daddies series because the FMC has no clue about the lifestyle before meeting the MMC. I LOVED that he met her with grace and guidance and helped ease her into the lifestyle. The ONLY complaint I have, is that I feel all the books have the same story line. Something horrible happen, like a kidnapping in most cases, and then MMC saves the day and makes her feel safe. I keep coming back, because I love it so much! But, I do wish some of the stories went a little differently. I am on my way to reading every single one of her books. She is a fantastic author who knows a lot about a lifestyle that some people don’t even know exists!

Kate Oliver delivers all the Big Daddy energy !!

As always Kate Oliver did not disappoint. In this long awaited final book . We meet Tessa who has a heart stopping backstory and Ronan who saved her back then . Our MMC Ronan was there rescuing Tessa on that fateful day and since then has not let her leave his sight always the protector even from afar. But as the danger returns can he continue to keep her safe. I highly recommend reading the series if you haven't read it. Every book is packed with big daddy energy hilarious back & forth along with all the shenanigans from our girls..

I actually really loved this book. It was quite well written and the relationships between Tessa and Ronan was so sweet. I loved how expressive he was (especially for a mafia man) and how much he looked out for her. Tessa went through so much and Ronan offers her the peace she deserves.

I do feel like we were missing information about Patrick and Anastasia. Like when did that happen? Ahaha. I do hope we get a book of their story at some point. I’m also excited to read about Cash Savage and his brother!

Sad this series is done but it was really good. If you are looking for a lot of age-play, this isn’t it (more just a dom/sub vibe) but it’s hot and sweet, and definitely worth a read!

Taking Tessa

This one, wow! Is beautiful, intricate and loving not only in story but in detail. Ronan and Tessa, when the story starts I was thinking there’s no way a man like Ronan is gonna love a mousey little girl like Tessa but as the story evolves and they go through so many twists and turns I see it. When, how, why and when it comes together and it’s well I said it in the first sentence Beautiful! I’m sad this is the last one here I hope you’ll write more maybe the Italian and Russian one. We’ll see. Thank for sharing I loved them all and I love your writing, please don’t stop.

The end … but is it really??

So glad that Ronan finally got his HEA!! The back story with he & Tessa just broke my heart but watching him slay all of her dragons made my heart happy. I know that Kate said this is the last book in this series, so I’m so happy that we’ve been introduced to others!! I can’t wait for those, but seeing all of my favorite Irish mafia guys find their HEAs makes me happy.

Ronan and Tessa

Have thoroughly enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end (but excited for Kate's new series). Ronan rescued his sisters best friend from traffickers and their lives became intertwined.
I found this book so funny in places, the recurring characters are wonderful and I enjoyed the ongoing storyline and appearances from Kate's previous books. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Paige gets her own story sometime in the near future 🙂

Loved it 🥰

Oh wow, this is such a powerful book. From the first page Kate Oliver captures your attention and holds it. Your emotions are constantly engaged with the past and the present. Tessa is a strong FMC who overcomes all, but Ronan, a strong, quiet Daddy Dom, is a true hero in this story for me. He is possessive, watchful and I liked him so much. They are perfect for each other.
A must read in my book. Sorry to see this series end.

Yummy!

I have been patiently waiting for Ronan’s book since he was introduced in Cali’s book. He has intrigued me as the darkest most dangerous brother. And the book did not disappoint. It was fun, sweet but also deadly and exciting. Tessa thrives under his care after her good for nothing parents let her down again. I cannot wait for the Vegas series and what unfolds with Cash and his brothers but also waiting for Jasper’s book too.

sigh* oh to have a man like Ronan

I love love loved Ronan! I thought he was gentle and kind and possessive and protective and I love that he didn’t care that those monster people were Tessa’s parents because they deserved the wrath he released on them. I love that he loved her for years so thoroughly and that he tried to hide it but she knew. I love that we still also for a glimpse of the girls being their wild Little selves and of course a threat from Cali!

Omg how I just loved this entire series and so sad that Ronan and Tessa's story is the end. However this book didn't disappoint not one bit. It was so good. Tessa still living her nightmare from when she was taken by Smoke. Ronan and the brothers weren't going to.stop at nothing to get revenge on everything that Smoke did. I couldn't put it down its good from beginning to end. I can't wait for the surprise at the end.

This is the last book in the syndicate series and as much as I’m sad to see it go I’m so ready to dive into the savage series.
Ronan saves Tessa from a kidnapping 6 years ago and they can’t stop thinking about each other everyday since. When Ronan offers to marry Tessa to save her from being given to an arranged marriage they move in together and the tension just grows until they can no longer hold it off
