In my travels last year, I met two guys from Israel. They were the nicest guys I’ve ever met, and we had dinner the night before I left. They spoke English even though they needed a little help with some of the words. I think it’s only fair that I learn their language so we can make a stronger connection and that is why I chose this book.
This book is a guide designed to take beginners, like me, on a 30-day learning journey to master Hebrew. A bonus is a QR code that helps with the pronunciations. Learning this language is manageable.
Each chapter builds on each other. The first book focuses on the groundwork for reading and pronunciation. Book two for writing and grammar, and book three tackles speaking Hebrew in everyday contexts.
For me, this is another book to keep for reference from Explore to Win.
I think I started reading this at the wrong time unfortunately because I simply just did not have time to really learn much, but that being said, I still think there is much to receive from this book aside from learning the language. I really knew absolutely nothing about Hebrew; I mean I didn't even know it was meant to be read right to left. I think this definitely provided a much needed appreciation for the language as a whole. I really liked the inclusion of the different holidays and what they celebrate and how. I think it would still be difficult to learn the pronunciations without some form of audio or in person teacher, but I think this would be undoubtedly beneficial for someone learning Hebrew that needs the extra push to get a hang of the letters and such outside of the classroom.
Like the book says, Hebrew is unique in its alphabet, structure, syntax, and phonetics so it can be difficult for a lot of us to learn. But this guide makes it so easy to learn the language in under a month. It starts out by explaining how with Hebrew, you’ll have to get used to reading from right to left, instead of left to right, get familiar with unfamiliar sounds and sentence structures, as well as unfamiliar vowels. It truly is like a whole new world learning this language. I’ve had a lot of success with following the exercises and I’m looking forward to putting it into practice.
I can’t wait to dive in to learning Hebrew. My first step was to read through this book, which was so interesting. Hebrew is one of the most ancient languages still used today. I thought it would have been more difficult, but English happens to be harder to learn.
Was not easy to understand. Concepts not clearly explained. Vowels difficult to understand what sound they truly make. Alphabet was well presented but overall I recommend you find a teacher.
Easy to understand and very well explained! I’ve just started and already on chapter 3 and I can easily pinpoint the notes that are super important as I’m reading. I’m excited to see what will happen in the next couple weeks
