Last Marines #10
Mother Earth
The battle lines are collapsing, and the Legion of Wolves cannot hold back the tide. Luna and Earth are both falling to the enemy, and there is little hope as the defense is pushed back on all sides.
But when Wolf learns about a race in a distant part of the galaxy that has successfully fought the vanhat to a standstill, he decides to launch an expedition to seek their help. The AI Collective has also learned about the expedition, though, and intends to kill humanity before they can find aid.
Worse, not everyone in the Governance backs Wolf, and when an enemy sees an opportunity to exploit the emperor’s weakness and strikes, can humanity stand together, or will it be lost to the darkness forever?

Before the Marines he was a pocket protector wearing nerd, after the Marines he held jobs as a Security officer/Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant and other odd specialized jobs like body guard or surveillance, and ended up brushing off the pocket protector to become a Computer Consultant.
These days he dreams of quitting his day job as a computer consultant to work full time as a writer and dad.

Marines vs The Collective and maybe the end
This book is very similar to book 6 in that it appears to be the end. The Marines, The Empire, The Golden Horde, The Collective, and the vanhat all throw down in a massive set of battles that threaten to destroy everything. The vanhat attack with seemingly endless troops and ships, going after Earth and Jupiter. Earth is pretty much lost except Quantico, and Jupiter appears to be the next to fall. When a dangerous and world altering decision is made, it seems like humanity may survive. But then The Collective decide to show up. Imagine being a bug and a human starts to step on you. You see this massive being of immense power coming for you, and there's nothing you can do. That's what it's like facing off against The Collective ships. In the end, a surprise that has been building for the last few books temporarily saves the day, but at a horrific cost. Feng and Villi finally reappear after being missing for a while, and it's always great to see them. I'm hoping we get back to more of them and Stathis in the next book. Stathis continues to be forced to grow up and become the leader Wolf needs his to be. I'll be interested to see how he and Winters manage to navigate unknown space in the search for ancient angels that may not even exist anymore. It's not truly the end, but it came very close to being the end of humanity

Outstanding!
Holy crap ! , this was an awesome book. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. This was probably the best one so far. Loads of action and some great plot twists. Hopefully, the next episode won't take too long .

Sad to see it end????
Way to go, with wrapping up one arc and setting up for another.
Interested to see the further adventures/misadventures of Stathis and Winters and their forthcoming story. I hope to see more of Skadi, Wolf, and the others left behind, at this point.
