Abu Muawiyah Ismail Kamdar
24 books347 followersShaykh Ismail Kamdar is a graduate of a traditional Alim program and also holds a Bachelors in Islamic Studies. He has studied Islam in both tradition and modern settings and has been a student of Islamic Studies for almost two decades.
He began studying Islam full-time at the age of thirteen, began preaching at the age of sixteen, and wrote his first book at the age of twenty-three. Over the years, he has taught multiple courses and seminars around the world, and has worked with multiple leading Islamic organizations across the globe.
He currently works as a research manager and PO of books at Yaqeen Institute, while homeschooling his children and writing books. He hopes to inspire the ummah to return to their former glory and become a role model for the world once again.

Insightful, concise and very enlightening, this compilation of key insights discussed on Yaqeen Institute's Youtube series is a comprehensive tafsir book that truly explores the key recurring themes of the Quran.
Each chapter describes the underlying themes, history and summary of the surahs. Revolving around the key themes such as the Sirah, Judgment Day and the Quranic worldview, the reader is led to reflect on how the Quran is our ultimate source of guidance. It also highlights how the Prophet s.a.w went through many trials and tribulations in the beginning, and how the Quran was revealed through him over the years to guide and inspire him, as he leads the nation and the ummah into a rapidly growing religion that focuses on the truth and monotheism.
In addition, the analysis constantly reflects on the Judgment Day, and how the afterlife is greatly discussed in detail in the Quran. While there are mentions of the horrors of Hellfire, there is always the promise of Jannah for the doers of good and those who tread on the right path.
This is a book that truly inspired me, and provided me with great and deep understanding on the themes of the Quran. However, it still requires great learning and research to understand all the wisdom and knowledge of the Holy Quran, and it is still important to truly read the Quran diligently and learn from a proper teacher. Still, I appreciated the compilation of this comprehensive tafsir book and will be sure to refer to it time and again.

This book is a great companion for air travel. I read most of it during my recent trip. Well-written and beautifully printed, it holds your attention throughout with its concise tafsir of the Qur'an.
