A slow-burn, mid-life, contemporary romance full of Australian sun, sea, and just enough spice.Full blurb to Bec knows her biological clock is ticking and time is running out to have children. The fact that she has no current partner – and hasn't had one for a while – makes it even less likely babies are in her future any time soon. So she decides to go it alone. And quickly discovers multiple obstacles – she can only access funding for two rounds of IVF treatment, she must squeeze them in before her forty-third birthday in six months' time, and she has to find a donor to provide the other half of the genetic equation. On top of all that, she needs a referral from her GP, and she hasn't got one.
Simon is the new GP in Harbour Town, having agreed to go into partnership at the new medical centre. He's left the busy Frankston Hospital and his carefree, partying days to commit to a quieter, healthier lifestyle. He knows he needs to build up his clientele by winning over the locals. When Bec turns up, his second-ever patient, he's drawn in by her plight.
How far will he go to help? Will he dare cross an ethical line to help make Bec's dream come true?
It was my 1st book of Harbour Town and of the Author. And I was happy to have it because I loved this very emotional, over 40's slow-burn, small town romance. Loved Bec and Simon, both so multi-talented and so alive characters. And how they find their emotional connection. They are perfect match - and how long time is needed for them to understand? Her biological clock is ticking, she is desperate and new doctor is ready to do much more than medical assistance to her. And ethical dilemmas of Simon - what comes first - friendship, his feelings or medical ethics? And crossing lines. Loved their friends and Harbour Town community. Loved the story-line and language, easy to read and hardly to put it down.

Bec takes you on a heroine adventure along with Simone as she tries to get her wish to have a child. Her time is running out for her, and she only has funding for two tries. Simone comes into the picture when he moves to the small town and needs to sure up his practice with patients and Bec becomes one, but sparks ignite between them. Will he be able to help her achieve her goal of becoming a mother. This heartfelt story had me connecting with Bec through her struggles as she embarks on her journey.

It was fun to go on this adventure with Bec and Sam as they meet and work at their lives. All the characters are well written and the sense of fun is there in the book to make it lively while going through all their twists and turn.

I loved this book. The characters were easy to relate to - a single woman in her 40s with a lot of love to give, who would rather parent a child by herself than not at all, and a man who's concerned about his health because his father and grandfather died of heart disease and he doesn't want someone going through what his mum went through.
