Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.

Me ha gustado que se haya contado más sobre el origen de las armas y su relación con Shibusen. El cómo fueron creadas por una bruja que sacrificaba a otras brujas para a su misma vez Shibusen hacer su caza de brujas por el peligro que estas suponían.
Al fin se reconoce el odio hacia ellas por parte de los shinigamis y aunque es mutuo ya se percibe un cambio entre ambos bandos.

Back to regular, mostly- the fanservice is still dialed up for some reason. Also, not a fan of Maka and Black Star suddenly being more powerful than EVERYONE in existence.

Kid gets to the witches area to ask for help which each worrisome who Can gets a death sentence for each crime they have committed towards the witches
Kid begs them in hope they help
He leaves and prepares the ship to return to the moon
Sid finds the location of the kishen
Death explains how weapons were created
I love how well the system works and the history of weapons go
Corona gets to the moon and head straight to the kishen
Maka and black star reaches the moon and helps with the attack
When fighting right as things go bad the witches come to aid
After they are able to clear everyone they start to head towards the kishen
Kid begs them in hope they help

Soul Eater, Vol. 23 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (98–102) of the on-going manga series.
Seeing his forces fighting in vain against the Clowns, Shinigami orders his son, Death the Kid and his squad to retreat from the moon instantly. While Death the Kid was fighting, he was negotiating with the witches for lending a help thanks to their Soul Protect ability which can prevent from the Kishin's Madness Wavelength and stop the Clowns' healing. With Kim Diehl, Eruka Frog, Free, Lisa and Arisa, Death the Kid is going to Witches' Realm for pursuing the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Maka Albarn and Black Star finally arrive on the moon and join to the battle against the Clowns before Death the Kid's return with the witches. When he comes back, he is alone this time, but hopes that they will come.
While the forces of Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) forces are trying to contain the Clowns as long as they can, the witches appear and have decided to help DWMA – their nemesis. Thanks to the Witches' Soul Protect ability, the DWMA's forces can land back on the moon and fight back the Clowns. Maka Albarn and the others beat them and all is remaining is the Kishin, but something worrisome happens – Crona has landed on the moon.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The tankōbon mainly focuses on the war on the moon with the DWMA battles with the Kishin forces. However, things are not looking good for the DWMA, but the Witches – their nemesis come and help them, which turns the tides of the war. However, despite their victory, a new problem arrives – Crona has landed on the Moon.
All in all, Soul Eater, Vol. 23 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

THE WITCHES SHOW UP! I knew they would but I was a little worried there. I really thought one of the main characters were going to die before the witches sent help. But they came through and took out the clowns. But Crona is now on the moon and he just absorbed the Kishin. So yeah, Crona is now the big bad to beat. I hope Maka can get through to him before he completely loses himself to the madness.

As I said in my last review, the battle isn't as easy as you might think. The fight is far from being over. Shibusen students will have to give the best of themselves if they want a chance to defeat the Great Devourer.

Clowns final fight. Black star becomes shooting star thanks to maka. Stein vindicated, spirit same set up for next volume.
Archetypes n shit. Witches, Kid, butt, prequel to boobs, serpents mother and son/daughter bronze/chasm/chao etc escape. Yeah, bible metaphors not hidden too well but a key a brew a vice a ton a loss a faith... golden eye from anime. And butts. Boobs come later.

So kid, kim, eruka, free, Lisa and arisa go to the witches realm to ask for help with the regenerating clowns and they get tied up and sentenced to death. Not really surprised at the "double cross" but what was surprising was kim having to write out witch with her butt. That was funny.
Kid begs for the help and points out that if the kishin's madness engulfs the earth is wouldn't be safe for the witches either. It seems that they agree on the end. When kid goes back to the moon with reinforcements he has a bit of doubt that they'll show up when the ship gets hit and they start a crash landing.
To be honest I was afraid they'd fail because of the witches not helping. Thankfully they did show up, and they help with the clowns like they agreed to. Very nice tension there.
Crona also landed on the moon and is going to go after the kishin so this fight will be interesting.
Can't wait to read on.

It is really cool that they dived into the history of war with the Witches and what lead to this divide between the Witches and humans. And it is really cool that Kid was one of the reasons why that divide has closed up a little bit. I do wish we had gotten to see the Witches in action like them fighting alongside of the Meisters and the Death Scythes.

The climax of this series is really building up to something great! Nothing too crazy is happening in this volume, but it's certainly getting into the nitty-gritty of this plot and storyline. I just love seeing how far this series has come since volume 1.
