Cool heartburn with a ripe banana … Silence snoring with a pinch of salt … Boost your memory with rosemary – ALL REMEDIES DOCTOR-APPROVED!
Folklore remedies can be a real danger to your health. So says Good Housekeeping, the name families have trusted for home health and safety recommendations for over 135 years.
What you really need are trusted remedies backed by real doctors – physicians and other providers and scientists with health-related doctorate degrees.
That’s what you’ll find in the Physicians’ Directory of Trusted Remedies – more than 1,000 reliable remedies, each and every one backed by one or more respected doctors of medicine or a closely related field of human health. And no risky folklore.
The Physicians’ Directory of Trusted Remedies brings you doctor-approved remedies for everyday health concerns like joint pain, digestive discomfort, backache, colds and flu, bee stings, and more. There’s also reliable help for serious diseases including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, virus epidemics, sexually transmitted infections, and mental health concerns.
Don’t trust your health and your future to risky folklore, blog posts, and “weird tips” when over 1,000 doctor-trusted remedies are available in this one directory.
Includes a state-by-state list of the dedicated doctors and providers who have made the effort to share their trusted self-care remedies with the public – more than 120 providers in all. The directory is exhaustively annotated – 700 footnotes for further learning from medical clinics, medical journals, and medical professionals.
I love the fact that this is a comprehensive resource. The additional four free ebooks are a plus too. This book is more than just mom’s chicken soup for my cold. The research is already done for me, which is invaluable as someone living with arthritis and having undergone heart surgery. I found the book to be an easy read thanks to the use of layman’s vocabulary. The alphabetical directory makes it easy to navigate. I really appreciate the state-by-state resource guide in the back of the book. This book will stay in my library for future reference.
There are so many remedies in this book, I don’t know where to start. Anywhere from acne to cat bites to wrinkles and everything in between. I never knew that a genetic trait causes lactase levels to decline after babies are weaned, in some cases, eventually causing lactose intolerance. There are some really good tips on what to do if you don’t want to take Lactaid. I also never knew that apple cider vinegar can balance out the scalp’s pH. I’m looking forward to trying that remedy. Great little guide.
I'm really excited about this directory of home remedies put together by Mark E. Johnson. It's so practical and well-researched, which I love. I think every household should have access to something like this, especially now when we're all more aware of taking control of our health and not just relying on doctors' prescriptions. It's empowering to have these natural, alternative options at our fingertips.
Lots of everyday helpful medical information that everyone needs.
This book is a must-have. It is definitely something to have on-hand to keep you out of the doctors office. There are many ailments that can be taken care of by you or someone you love or trust, right at home. This guide is going to help you do that. It is so awesome.
