If you haven't started Midlife Magic in Memoriam yet, I totally recommend starting at the beginning with Potions and Pajamas and enjoy the series sequentially. In this adventure, everyone is back except Nie, whose body is missing but her head delivered to Mar in a box. Thus starts the adventure. Mar is determined to recover the rest of Nie and punish the cause of her decapitation. Rose, Wendy, and Imogen help with the quest. Now it’s Marnie’s turn to find romance, quite contrary to her hermit-like avoidance of people and trusting no one. After numerous plot twists, the mysteries are solved and everyone (except the bad guys) has an HEA ending.

Be prepared to meet not-so-normal paranormals. It's Halloween at this gathering. Marnie meets people who will be important in her life. She has old and now new friends who help her with an important search. Not only is she searching, there is danger. Who is after whom? Those looking don't know who is after them or any of them. I am pretty good at figuring out who the bad guys are in books. I didn't have any idea this time.

It's a unique read you won't be able to put down.

What time of the year is it in this story? What is happening at the beginning of our story? Who are Tufty, Non-Tufty, Caspian, Marnie, and Snorfy? When Mar gets home that evening, what is waiting on her porch? What does Mar think it is? Why? What message does Mar get at the bottom of her popcorn? Who and what are Levi and Graham? What happens at the hotel? Who are Levi and Otis? How do they know one another? How do they figure into the storyline? What is learned from Alden? Oh, Noodles was a surprise! Read and see what happens!

wow, I thought the last books were bizarre

wow, I thought the last books were bizarre. Well this one beats all previous for bizarreness. So many twist turns. I typically know how to pick out the bad guy and spend the remainder of time angry at the slow pace. Characters figure out the truth. That did not happen here. So we’ll written I did not see any of it coming or the finale! Good ending! I’m guessing book on IMOGENE is next.

Another brilliant book ❤

A box appears at the shelter. Mar assumed it was another abandoned box of kittens.

How wrong she was.

Opening the box she found her clone Nie's head in it!

This leads Mar and Imogen far from home, looking into Nies death.
