Cassandra's Angel is a well thought out book that can bring tears and strong feelings to people that read. It is about a girl named Cassandra that wants to fit in with the world around her. She tries to play with the other kids but they judge her on her differences. She feels sad and alone, but she realizes she is great the way she is and that is good.
Cassandra's Angel was touching to the heart and the mind. It teaches a great life lesson, ´´You should be happy, the way you are.´´ I would recommend this book to whoever feels alone in the world and for people that want to feel something. It was a very good book to read and relate to, at least 8 out of 10.

Cassandra’s Angel is a wonderful story of a young girl feeling lost, sad, and alone trying to find herself. She tries hard to fit in but her imagination always runs wild leaving her different from the rest. She realizes if she believes in herself she might just find what she's looking for.
Cassandra’s Angel touched my heart and taught me that you should always love yourself no matter who you are. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a soft, touching, and beautiful book. This is one of my favorite books and I hope you will enjoy Cassandra’s Angel as much as I do.

I read this book when I was very small and decided to read it again for my Children Materials and Services class.
This book is about a young girl named Cassandra who never seems to be doing the right thing and has a hard time fitting in. Her imagination is too wild-leaving messes and confusion behind her. But Cassandra's Angel tells her to be happy the way she is and to believe in herself-a simple message I think kids of all ages deserve to hear time and time again. It's not overly religious and has a nice message.

Ages 4-10. Otto tells the story of a little girl named Cassandra who means well but keeps getting herself into binds. She does not like the stories everyone tells her about who she is. At the end of the book, as she she is crying, her angel comes to tell her that nobody else can write her story for her. This encouraging book is designed to help children understand that goodness is something worth striving for even when other people may not be supportive. The full color illustrations that accompany this story are beautifully rendered. The story itself clearly has a lesson to impart, but Cassandra is a lovable character whose mistakes and experiences many children will be able to relate to. Otto's poetry lacks nuance--it's flat and what it's trying to say is also fairly one dimensional. However it offers the idea of a validation outside of what someone else thinks--the concept that there are ideals a person can choose to live up to that don't come from other people's opinions is a powerful lesson. Recommended for public library children's collections.

I met this author at a craft fair a few years back. She was lovely and wrote a beautiful inscription in this book for me. This book, even though written for children, came at the perfect time in my life and is great for letting anyone know that they are worthy and are not equal to what other people think of them.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. My son brought it home and I was a little reluctant to read it. I'm glad I did though, it's not overly religious and has a nice message. I also enjoyed the illustrations.

A good inspirational book for kids (probably 6+)--especially those who don't have the support they need at home.
