Rate this book
Unexplained disappearances have haunted the town of Shadowcliff Cove, Massachusetts, for three hundred years. Evil looms within the beautiful and lush trees of Ravenswood Park.

When Alec Corwin, newly released from juvenile detention, moves to Shadowcliff Cove, his life will change irrevocably. With a twin sister that hates him and a rival jock that’s ‘out for blood,’ Alec knows that senior year in a new high school will be rough.

Then he encounters Lexi Connelly, a gorgeous, enigmatic girl, and they discover a connection deep within each other. As their relationship blossoms, they are challenged at every turn. Alec is driven to win Lexi's heart, but he must find a way to surpass his own pride – to deny his mind while following his heart.

Much of Lexi’s life is shrouded in secrecy, but secrets cannot remain hidden as a random event changes everything. She soon learns that she is meant for a dark fate. When an ancient evil escapes from its prison, Lexi is woefully unprepared for the consequences. As she struggles with her true nature, fighting to defy the killer within, those she loves push her towards an unwanted future.

Alec and Lexi have to come to grips with their altered world, and find the strength to accept that nothing about their lives is as it seems, and that love comes at a price.

I came across this book from one of the sponsored Facebook ads. From there I linked to the book's FB page. I decided immediately to purchase this book because of what the author had posted-- quirky, funny, and personal messages. I was not disappointed in this book. Being from Massachusetts, I was intrigued by the story's setting and appreciate the local sports references and banter. The characters are well developed, interesting, and "real". The drama of the high school in-crowd reminded me a lot not only of high school but also places where I've worked. You can identify with all of the characters. This is not your typical paranormal/ fantasy story; You think you know, but BAM! something unexpected happens again. You will not be disappointed.
