Ellie is not a good FMC

Regretfully I read this book in its entirety.

Ellie acts like a highschool child, with no self awareness. She is supposedly an author but lacks the intelligence to see how much danger her so-called friend is showing.

Diesel finds out about his son via old text messages, from an old phone he forgot about. He goes to see if he can meet his son, finds out that the baby momma is gone. Her sister is taking care of the son.

From the first meeting, Ellie shows how immature she is. She is unable to fully understand how much danger she and the son are in. When the truth comes to light and she is kidnapped, she talks to her kidnapper like they are friends.

The ending was way softer than I expected. There was nothing remarkable about the story besides how much Ellie annoyed me.

Meh..?
This wasn’t a bad book, but I disliked a few things about it. Starting with the FMC’s attitude. I just kept waiting for her to have the epiphany she needed to have to man the fuck up and dive in. But then she had the fucking epiphany, and went the complete opposite way. 🤦 So frustrating.
And Diesel…I was expecting more from him honestly. I liked him. But his actions didn’t fit his character when it came to the FMC. I just kept waiting for him to shake some sense into her and he just never did.

🤷🏻‍♀️
The plot wasn’t bad, but it was super predictable. Not that that’s a problem, but when the characters are less than ideal it matters a bit more to me.

The story wasn’t too bad although it felt like there wasn’t much MC stuff.

The worst part about this book is the heroine Ellie. Her character back story is a “curse” that everyone leaves her. Ummm her mum and sister were killed. She makes it sound like they packed up and left.

She has trust issues because of this curse yet she’s in his bed two days later. Then spends all her time sprouting inner monologues about him leaving her.

Then secret pregnancy (& yes, of course it’s twins 🙄)… could have seen this story line a mile away… I hate secret pregnancies. He’s didn’t know about his and he’s done nothing to warrant the secret being withheld but she still did.

And she supposedly a thriller writer but can’t make the good sense to work out Ryan was a douche canoe bash guy?

Ellie ruined this for me. She was immature and had zero substance to her character. This could have been a great story line but she was just too vapid and childish to hold up her side of the plot.

——• The most fairy MC I’ve ever come across🙄

I just fucking can’t with this book, it was like watching the most cringiest first time make out session in slow motion and not being able to look away.

Diesel finds out he’s got a kid after discovering unread text messages on an old phone which were sent to him 5 years ago. Rocks up to the house only to find out the kids mother disappeared not long after his birth and has since been raised by her sister. He then finds out the same day that she has a stalker so he sleeps over that night and then forces them to move in the next day only to get all frisky with her and has the kid already calling him dad.

BRUHHH, what in the ever loving fuck is this?

Not to mention the god awful nicknames and gag worthy flirting…

Him “My mouth is watering for your honey”
Her “You are a naughty boy”

Mind you, this was all between chapters 1 and 10.. it did not get better but it was so cringy and entertaining that I couldn’t help but finish it.

I think the biggest problem was that again this author brain stormed what they wanted their characters to be like and some good “sexy talk” points without creating a story from it, only a book as it had the most immature writing style and I just couldn’t get with it.

absolutely Not!

No just no! I could with Elle like girl you no! How oh how do you get kidnapped and talk to your kidnapper like he was still your friend feeling sorry for him?! But you looked at Diesel like he was the one who couldn’t be trust. Ugh I couldn’t stand her not at all.. but what also bothers me is that Diesel has a mom, dad and brother and we hear NOTHING from them?!?! Um hello you don’t care that your son has a son like that’s just weird ..She was why I gave this book the rating I did. Diesel and the guys and Leo Perfect 🤩

Loved It

Diesel is the Prez of the Steel Demons MC and he has just found out he has a son around four years old. When he goes to check this out, he meets his son and he finds that he is being raised by his aunt Ellie and has no idea what happened to Stacy who is the mother of his child.

I loved watching the relationship between Diesel and his son develop showing what kind of loving man this big burly biker really was. The chemistry between Diesel and Ellie made my heart swoon. With Ellie’s life on the line will Diesel be able to figure out fast enough how his club and Ellie’s stalker are connected.

This is a first-time author for me and it won’t be my last MC read by her. I loved her writing style and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next.

This was just bad, all around bad, even the very beginning. Diesel is in an MC and during a clothing drive one of his brother's presents him with his old phone that was found in the stuff. Supposedly this club brother plugged the phone in and went through it finding text messages from 5 years ago from an old club girl telling him she was pregnant with his kid.....

Umm.. what? This alone is problematic. So he got a new number and never checked his old phone as a club president? He was cool with this guy going through his phone? Whatever. Any other beginning would have been better.

He goes directly to where his kid is being taken care of by his aunt. The mom had disappeared so her sister had taken over raising him. This girl is a scared doormat with hardly any personality besides loving her nephew and being afraid. Supposedly she's a writer but has no brain. Typical dumb girl fmc.

She has threats against her from some letters she has been getting, so Diesel stays the night at her house on day one, brings her and his son to the clubhouse on day 2 and they are in bed together pretty much right away... Wow.

Then there is club girl drama, over the top, stupid club girl drama. And hey I'm all for some OW drama but when it's dumb? Just no. FMC storms out when a club girl comes onto MMC.. MMC had pushed her away.. Yes, told the club girl to back off and what does this girl do? She storms out of the clubhouse, back to Diesels place where her and the kid are staying, and packs her stuff to take off. Huh?? Make it make sense!!!!!

The entire thing was extremely juvenile and I can't even believe I finished it.

Only good thing is that there was an HEA and the narration was decent.

ughh

I was going to give this a three star because the writing was fairly decent but dang, Ellie is so freaking dumb I had to knock it down a star. What the heck? At about 50% I was seriously considering DNFing this book but I stuck it out and it didn’t redeem itself at all. Everything about Ellie irritated me from the start. Ugh. Other than Ellie the writing is a bit disjointed with some weird time skips.

Good little story, lots of romance & smex. The FL could have been more mature - stop making FLs either TSTL or ridiculously stubborn ball-busters! However, with most of this genre, I do try to just enjoy the silliness of these rough & implausible MC romances. Sometimes you hit a real good one; but mostly these books are not that good, so I rate on a big curve.

Meh...

I don't know what it was about Ellie, but she annoyed me. I didn't really understand her reluctance to Diesel and why she couldn't just open up her mouth and communicate her fears and feelings with him.

I loved Diesel and Ellie!

I really love MC romances. I have read a ton, but this is my first by Sarina Hart. The only certain thing is that it definitely won’t be my last. I loved Sarina Hart’s authorial voice. She manages to deliver totally swoon-worthy characters, an intriguing plot and an overall thrilling story.

Give me some Diesel!!! Oh, dear – the man made his way easily in my top ten list of book boyfriends. Fiercely protective and determined – a wholesome Alpha through and through. Yet Ms Hart manages to also make him understanding, methodical in his approach to skittish Ellie and genuine. He knows what he wants and he goes for it, but in a way that respects the needs and thoughts of Ellie – who has a complicated past and really believes that she must only depend on herself, because everyone eventually leaves – by choice or not. The way they come together is complicated as well – she is raising his son (one that he didn’t know he had) ever since he was six months old and his mother (her sister) mysteriously disappeared. The refreshing thing with this particular plot line is that this is not the usual in these stories bad sister/good sister scenario. Stacy is not the uncaring, cruel, airheaded mother/sister that simply abandons her son and sister. Diesel knows at first glance that Ellie is the one for him. Ellie feels it too, but her history makes her put up walls and resistance. However, you can’t escape fate. I loved the way to their HEA, amidst heartbroken revelations and dangers.

I couldn’t put my kindle down till the end. And I can’t wait to know more about the other MC brothers and the stories the author has in store for them. 5 stars.

I loved Diesel. I loved the audible voice of Diesel more! He was the perfect boyfriend but the insta live was over the top here. He walks into his kids life and within a day “I love you and I’m number one dad” to far fetched for a mc president. I did like the plot I just didn’t feel the connection to the story after it came together to quick. I will keep reading this series because I’ve heard such good things.

Diesel finds out that he has a son threw a bunch of emails that he received from a four year ago fling at the clubhouse. He decides immediately to go meet his son and when he shows up the mother of his son’s sister is actually turned out to be his mother because she disappeared . Immediately everyone fall. Diesel fall in love with the sun and of course, in love with Ellie the sister of the mother of his child. He moves them into a bunch of trauma. She’s very trusting over and over and over she could not get past her insecurities that he might actually love her, they have incredible sex and good sex scenes but a little overplayed kind of cliché of course they find out that the weird guy friend has been fucking with her life and killed her sister. They live happily ever after and she’s pregnant and she’s also been kidnapped and then of course, diesel comes to the rescue.

3.5* rounded up to 4*

Diesel is the first book of the new Steel Demons MC series by Sarina Hart. It is a contemporary romance that centres around the men of the Steel Demons Motorcycle Club located somewhere near Las Vegas.

I haven't read a lot of Hart's books in the past, and to be honest MC stories are something that I really need to be in the mood for (I dislike the romanticising of MC's, especially those that have shady/criminal links). Thankfully, I took a chance on this book and am pleased to say that these are good guys and even help the local law enforcement during the course of the book.

The book starts out with Diesel, the president of the Steel Demons, helping to orchestrate a community event when he finds out he has a son. His son, who is four, is currently being cared for by his aunt, Ellie. The story quickly descends into a mystery and a dash of political intrigue as we find out why Diesel's ex has disappeared.

Overall, this was a ride and the mystery held me. Meanwhile, I really enjoyed the kind of gentle romance that came with Diesel and Ellie's chemistry together. I also liked the strong unit they formed with Diesel's son.

decent read

Some of the bad reviews were off, others were accurate. Lots of mistakes continuity issues. A female who is whiney, morose, melancholy and not goth it’s bizarre character for someone who never experienced any trauma other than her mother & sister suddenly went missing one after the other a few yr apart but otherwise a well upbringing and happy in not lonely self induced life. And who constantly blames the wrong ppl for the doings of other she is super insecure super hyper “woe is me” is absolutely Annoying af! And literally over & over makes the worst decisions even though her nephew/son depends upon her choices for survival and a good life. She is basically 2S2L/ TSTL! DIESEL IS GREAT except him keeping her in the dark about the dangers near and going down.. and she withholds vital info that could help them figure out what’s really going on
Whiny, obnoxious, insecure brat. That
Some day will break her neck constantly jumping to the wrong conclusions!
The balance of world building, mc life, stories of getting to know the other brothers, was fine, however I feel nothing about them that makes me wanna read any of their ,,,stories. So glad I’m not locked into for rest of boring series

Ellie is a aman bear who will do anything to protect her sisters young son. She works hard as an author to provide for him and we see how close their relationship is. She is also dedicated to finding her missing sister.

Diesel is the president of the MC and he is resourceful, kind, and confident. He looks after his club and when he finds out about his child, instantly becomes protective of him and Ellie.

These two have good banter and while Ellie might be hesitant at first, Diesel’s Teddy bear nature draws her to him. He also is drawn to her fierceness and protective nature even though she is of small stature. She also wears her heart on her sleeve, making Diesel willing to be ope with her as well. I did feel there could have been more buildup before they got together, but you still wants to read how their story turns out.

Along the way we get to meet the MC and get familiar with their worldview. There is also twists you don’t see coming.

Overall, this was a good read and I forward to what’s next.

Really good... solid 4.5 🌟

So, I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved Diesel. He was the perfect MMC. Ellie? Well, I liked her enough, but she started getting on my last nerve about halfway through the book. Geez, her and her "everyone leaves" BS was just ridiculous. Look, there are no guarantees in life. The man was clear he wanted you. So get over it already. I would have also liked to see a deeper connection between the brothers and to know more about the other characters, considering that the characters introduced all have books. The thing is that I didn't get a feel for the other characters, so I'm not really invested in reading about them. Other MC books create a world where the secondary characters are just as much a part of the story and makes you want to read their stories too, but with this book, though I enjoyed Diesel and Ellie's story, I didn't feel immersed in the MC world enough to continue reading the other stories. I'll check out her other books, though. She's definitely a good writer with very little grammar and editing issues. So, it's definitely worth reading more of her books.

Diesel has his club collecting items for a giveaway. One of his men comes to him to tell him to check his old cell. There he learns he has a son. So he sets out to find him and his mother.
Ellie has had a lot of surprise "gifts" left on her porch. The last one was a toy truck with Leo's name on it. Then she hears a motorcycle. Diesel shows up and tells her he wants to get to know his son. She tells him Stacy, her sister, has been missing for three years. Then she mentions the "gifts". He takes her and his son back to the MC. Now he's digging into what Stacy was into and it's hard since there seem to be hardly any clues until Ellie remembers something. Things are intense once they figure out who may be causing trouble for the club. Will he be able to keep both Ellie and his son safe? Will they find Stacy alive? Will Ellie be able to trust again?
A fantastic story in this MC. It sets the right tone and danger zone for any other stories in this MC club!! I can't wait to read more about them!!!.

Diesel is the President of the Steel Demons MC. During a charity drive, one of his men comes up to him to tell him that while he was “cleaning” his old phone, he found some old messages he might want to look at – he finds out that he has a son (Leo) from a woman named Stacy. Ellie is Stacy’s sister. Ellie is very guarded and believes that she does not want a relationship with anyone because everyone leaves (her dad, mom & sister). She believes it is a curse to her family. When Diesel meets Ellie, he knows that he wants to make her his!

The relationship between Diesel and Leo makes my heart smile! He takes to being a father like a boss! Someone is stalking Ellie and Diesel will do everything he can to make sure she is protected. But when someone close to Ellie turns out to be her stalker, will Diesel be in time to save the woman he has come to love? Twists, betrayal, tragedy and lies had my interest from page 1! Cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

Wow She Lets Her Sister's Baby Daddy Overwhelm Her Almost Immediately, Wow What A No Face And Depowering And Silencing And Just Appropriation

Should have been a slow burn for the child.

It wasn't.

So problematic.

Wow, she really did take everything her sister had didn't she?

Son and his father.

Fun fact: It used to be illegal to marry your dead sisters widower and I believe that should remain.

It is an entirely an abusive set up and it is not hard to figure out that he is attracted to her because she is the sister without conflict but still stolen some of her sisters quirks.

But shes a pathetic self insert.

She didn't give a fuck and especially neither did he, that these dynamics actually fuck kids up.

But I'm so glad she was seen by the domineering person for five seconds, getting her sisters life if all her dreams come true.

Little toddler.

I worry for the future children too, they wrre so self involved it was completely unattractive.
