This series was love at first page for me and I am really glad that the books just keep getting better. Tested is the third book in the New World series and it's the story of Missy and Tyler. So there are a few tiny spoilers from the previous books in this review, just so you know.

After Tyler gets abducted by a white van in the middle of the street, Missy is the only one who can go after him, since she is the only one the enemy hasn't seen yet. For the first time after her incident, Missy is out on her own, traveling from her home to the Eastern ghetto where is gets a job in the Institute where Tyler is kept. But the man she finds there is not the silent, gentle Tyler she once knew. Together the two of them have to find an escape before it's too late.

Janelle Stalder has a way of building amazing worlds that even if it's a messed up world as the New World you still want to live there. Also she creates these amazing characters you can't help but fall in love with. I mean each guy portrayed in this story is a fictional crush for me. Even the bad guy.

The only thing that I missed in this book was more Charlotte and Bridge time. There are so many cahracters and PoVs that we hardly got anything from their prespective. But at least we got a new set of sisters to follow around. And I am really excited for the next book, Underground, since it's about Phoenix and Trent. I love the chemistry between those two. I love couples that can't really stand each other in the beginning.

Anyway, this was my huge fangirl rant about this book. You seriously need to check this series out if you are a fan of New Adult, Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, Action, Fantasy and pretty much anything.

I love this series. I loved this book. I love this author.

Warnings:

Warning #1: This is the THIRD in a series, can they be read as standalones? No, not really. I wouldn't recommend it. There will not be spoilers for this book, but there MAYBE spoilers from book one and most definitely two.

Warning #2: I was given this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. And honesty is what I do.

Song choice: "Swept Away" by The Avett Brothers (sentimental version), "Sideways" by Citizen Cope, "I'll be seeing you" by Billie Holiday

First Thoughts: So let me just say, when I first read about Tyler I was infatuated, seriously I had the weirdest crush on this man and he barely talked. I was just in lust with him. Now I am fully and utterly in love, and ladies back off he is so and utterly mine. I have already talked to Janelle and told her this. Anyways ;) besides a sexy ass leading man. I love this series because each book is so different from the previous but also ties so fluidly into the one before to make it a series, that its just always entertaining and always not quite what I was excepting. This book was no different. It was fabulous. I was expecting it to be one thing, but was so different. So yes, read this please!!!

Thoughts on Plot: Here is the thing, at end of book two (yup here is that spoiler I promised) Tyler was taken, and Missy was there, and saw it happen. I immediately thought: Ludwig! That crazy-ass bastard who I am also all sort of in love with... i mean.... *runs away* wait i can't run away I need to finish this review *comes back* So was I right or was I wrong? *wiggly eyebrows* well read and find out ;) so anyways, Tyler is going through some...stuff. ^.^ And since both Ludwig AND the General know most of everyone in the group, only one person can save him. Yup, yup, yup my favorite new lady who was introduced: Missy. Why is she my favorite? Idk i have a thing for the quiet, shy characters. I will get to that though. So we get to see their relationship in so many different stages and I love it. I love seeing them blossom together, and I loved seeing them blossom separately. I think that plot wise, as usually everything moved at a wonderful pace, I was never really bored with any parts of the book, I do think out of the three that are out, this was the least action packed one, but that doesn't mean things don't happen, because boy do they happen! So much happens! I am so curious on what will be happening next, and with the next two characters' book. OHMIGOB. I neeeds its like yesterday. Anyways....Overall I loved the plot we were exposed to a few new developments!!! And we are also sitting on the edges of our seats never knowing what this character or that character is going to do! It's AHHH amazing. I just love it!! Seriously I know you are thinking she is a horrible critic because she loves this series, but I honestly believe this is such a refreshing look at a dystopia, its right in the heart of the rebellions, its right in the gritty, nasty part, where the new government while is in place hasn't been there for so long no one knows anything different. All the characters just make me want to cheer them on. I really, really do find this book beyond refreshing, and unique. And those steamy scenes. *grabs fan* well. there you go ;)

Characters:

Missy:

Tyler:

Now about them!!!

Missy: I LOVED HER. Seriously from the first moment we meet her, I might even told Janelle this: I was like I want her story. I want to see her have her own book. Why? Like I said i just have a thing about the more timid characters im drawn to them. It was pretty damn obvious i think we all knew that at some point Missy was abused sexually by a man. So of course she is timid and scared or i should say cautious when around them. And Tyler well he is all man. I think I really enjoyed seeing Missy in this book the most because we could really see her growing, becoming better. I think that when she left and she had to do this on her own she really shined, and became her own person. She really became stronger and just utterly kickass. I loved her seriously. I think she was a fantastic character, and just as Janelle does with all her characters, which they are all usually unique, have their own strong voice, she did here in this book as well. One of my favorite features in Janelle's books (and yes i am a seasoned Stalder reader ;) is her characters

Tyler: :O talk about sexy!!! Damn, I am not going to lie I like me a good beard, I think they can be really sexy. On him, yes! He was possessive, dangerous, and oh so sweet. There are two sides to this man, he can be thoughtful, calculating, and so utterly careful with Missy and I loved how thoughtful he was. He didn't just jump right into this, he took time, he eased his way in. He was so dreamy. This man. Wow. Seriously. He knew what he wanted and he was willing to do just about anything to keep her safe. I love how protective he was of her, but he also saw that she needed some space to grow and I think he would be totally and utterly willing to give her that. Seriously mine. MINE. MINE!!!

Ludwig: Now if you are familiar with the series, you are going, what the hell Becca? Well yeah I actually i really like Ludwig, a lot. I want to read his story, I am so super intrigued by him, but he is losing his marbles and its scaring me!! MORE LUDWIG PLEASE!!!

Trent&Phoenix: I really liked them both and I cannot wait to read more about them (is that a spoiler?)

The ending: I can breath a little easier than I could after Masked - thank god, seriously. But I still want more because I am addicted to this series!!! and Janelle in general

I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4 Brave, Beautiful Stars!
This Series Just Keeps Getting More Intense and More Exciting and... Just More Everything!

The Review:
I love a good dystopian romance and add in a little sci-fi and I’m all over it. When I heard Janelle Stalder was writing this series, I was beyond excited and she hasn’t disappointed. From Switch to Masked and now to Tested, I’m in awe at the world building, the bountiful and compelling character platform and the intricate story and plots!

This book was filled to the brim with “happenings” and there was never a dull moment. I loved this book and I loved the main hero and heroine!

Story/Characters...
There was a lot going on in this one. It picks up a couple of weeks after Masked ended and Tyler is missing. Snatched off the streets, no one has a clue as to who took him or why. But when the clues finally do start coming in, things look very bad and it seems the only one who might have a chance at saving him is the shy and timid Missy, who hasn’t notice a man since her “incident” but noticed Tyler the moment he walked in her door.

Missy is part of the Archer rebels and though she used to go out and help protect the streets with her sisters, one horrible moment changed everything for her and she’s been a homebody ever since. But now's her chance to help make a difference again, to help bring back the one man who might help her see the light in all the darkness. But in order to complete that goal, she has to go undercover into a strange and frightening environment, filled with peril.

And when they finally meet again, sparks fly, memories vanish and danger lurks everywhere. But one thing is certain. Tyler plays the alpha-male and claims what's his! And let me tell ya, that was some fun reading! Wowza!

Then there’s Trent and Phoenix, who are still at each others throats, their unwanted attraction pulling them closer together, but soon they find themselves falling victim to their own precarious situation and it looks like they’ll have to fight for their own freedom.

The (evil-overlord!!) General is back and his mission to overthrow Ludwig is still in place. He’s using some very unethical, inhumane and strategic ways to accomplish his goals and it looks like no one can stop him.

The rebels are still aiming to fight the good fight but with the good people they are trying so hard to protect, turning on them, it’s anyones guess who will be the next victim.

Things get sticky for all our heroes and heroines. Even the bad guys find themselves in trouble and you just wish they’d all sit down, hug it out and learn to get along! Ha! But then again, that would be boring.

In addition to the New World Army, the General’s soldiers and the rebels, there seems to be a new, mysterious faction on the rise who’s snatching people right off the streets. They are scary because we know nothing about them and two of our key players are caught right in the middle.

Thoughts...
I really enjoyed Tyler and Missy’s romance. It was different and Tyler's position was dangerous and threatening but I loved that even with his situation, he never fully lost himself. His alpha-male came out in full force to protect what was his and he was a little scary but totally sexy and enticing. I loved Missy’s strength. After what she’d been through, her courage to go after Tyler was wonderful to read.

One thing I will say is I wanted more on Lotty and Pete. I grew to really like them in book one as they stole my heart. They had the whole forbidden love thing going on and it was fascinating to read. Lotty is the strong, silent type who I wanted to instantly know more about and I just haven’t had my fill of her yet. Not to mention, with her talents she could be playing a larger role in all this.

I was a little surprised at all the “sitting around” the rebels did while their friends/family were lost. I know they had to lay low but with how aggressive they were to run the streets and fight hard in the first two books, I was a little disappointed they weren’t out scouring the streets, even covertly, for their own.

The Wrap Up:
The dystopian world this author creates is inventive, creative, intriguing, angsty and fun. Everyone is just trying to survive in these impossible circumstances and it’s going to be riveting to see how it all turns out. This was a fun book to read and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Tested Review on K-Books

Having devoured each and every one of Janelle Stalders books I could not wait to get my hands on this book. Dystopia is one of my all time favourite genres and this is the only amazing NA Dystopia series I have come across. Add to that the fact that Janelle freaking Stalder, one of the most amazing authors EVER wrote it there are really no words for my excitement when Janelle asked me to beta read this book.

Missy has had an awful time in her life. Always hiding away after a traumatising event Missy is forced to go out behind enemy lines to help and save the ones she loves. It's the most terrifying this she has ever had to do. But when she is faced with Tyler, the one man who both terrifies and excites her all at the same time Missy's life is sure to change forever.

Ever since finishing Masked, the second book in the New World series I've been dying to read Missy's and Tyler's story and well, Janelle definitely does not disappoint. She built upon the wonderful world that was developed in the previous two books, not to mention the wonderful characters that she has created. One thing I love about this series is that even though we are getting Missy and Tyler's story we still see glimpses of the other couples that we loved in the previous books.

Tested is a fantastic installment in the New World series. It's is filled with heart-stopping action and breath-taking romance in an amazing dystopic society. It's a must-read for any NA and Dystopia fans. I'm dying to get my hands on the next book.

In the third book in the New World series, quiet and shy Missy makes one of the hardest decisions in her life – to infiltrate the enemy's camp in order to help a friend. Terrified and alone, she puts herself on the line for the one thing in her life worth fighting for – Tyler.

I love Missy. I love how she was able to step out of her comfort zone, not only to help Tyler but to let herself trust him. Tyler is a character I loved getting to know more about. In the first two books we only got glimpses of him, but they were enough to provoke my curiosity about him. My favorite thing? Seeing the two of them together. Missy has a lot of hurt in her past dealing with men, and Tyler is nothing if not a man's man. He is all muscle and tallness and sexy Scottish accents (Mmmmm...Yes, I would speak his lines out loud using his sexy accent. Don't judge.). He is possessive and dangerous and incredibly scary, but he's all soft and sweet for Missy...even when he's not completely himself.

Tested continues the plot that developed over the first two books and also brought a new exciting direction to the story. Once again, I cannot wait for the next book!

Yay for getting the new book!!! Boo for having to wait for more after that ending!! Lol I’m also going to straight up tell you I may get a little bit spoilery because I NEED to say a few things!! Ok here we go- I am so addicted to this series. I’ve been a stalker since Eden but now Ms J is almost topping my leading man with Tyler, don’t tell my BBF!! :) and the ishnit has hit the fan… And the fan blew it up with half a community. OMG! I didn’t think it could get more scary for my favorite people but it did, and I think it could get worse!

I need to say, I think Missy was the most broken and I am overjoyed with Tyler being her glue to put herself back together! She grows some nerves, goes over enemy lines, stays there, all to help get tyler out! And trust me, Tyler really is worth fighting for! I’m so proud of her, for everything she’s over come. I didn’t know if anyone would ever tip Charlotte for my favorite but dammit if missy is really close. And then he trauma is almost repeated and I really thought she’d lose it all. I really did. But leave it to tyler to find her in the dark and bring her back to life. Bravo Ms J, now you gotta top this one ;)

Tyler is one of the best leading male characters I’ve read! He’s already sexy and dangerous but with this experiments things are really different. And yet, he overcomes all of those things to make sure Missy is ok. And the things he says, waiting forever, being gentle, I mean I love him… Oh Logan, this may be a problem for you… Tyler is one sexy HAWT dude!!! And I’m all about his sweetness, the only thing keeping him behind Logan is Logan’s fun and silly attitude. Oh and for those of you crazy folk who don’t know Logan, you should read her Eden series… But go for Aiden- LOGAN’S MINE!! Lol

So it’s off topic, but I f you haven’t figure from my crazy ranting, everything Ms J writes is a masterpiece. Seriously, one of the best writers, and to top it, it’s the best book of the series yet, though I still hold the first of the series very high, this one really shines through. I don’t know how else to say it but this dystopian fantasy has it all- everything and more!! So don’t take my word for it- get your hands on it! Oh wait, take my word that it’s EPICALLY AWESOME!! I’ve decided it’s so worth it :) 5 PAWS, and honestly, it’s worth so much more than that!

Tested is the newest book in Janelle Stalder’s New Adult Dystopian New World series. This installment brought together Missy and Tyler (who we got glimpses of in the last book).

What I loved:

Missy and Tyler.
Despite the fact that Missy and Tyler started out with a bit of instalove (but that was started in the last book, so I didn’t have to dwell on it here) and the fact that Tyler was not really himself for part of the book, I found myself really rooting for them as a couple. Stalder had a tricky job here because she had to show us Tyler’s angry, almost monster-like side and still allow us to fall for him. Even when Tyler was living on pure testosterone and instinct, his instinct was to protect Missy. On the other hand, Missy started out as a very timid character, but managed to find her strength throughout the book. And her timidity was based on the fact that she was recovering from an incredibly traumatic past. I thought that the tension between what Missy wanted with Tyler and her fears of men in general were portrayed really well.

Trent and Phoenix.
In the second book in this series, we got a glimpse of the animosity between Trent and Phoenix – these two were always at each other (and you kind of had to wonder if it would develop into something not so antagonistic). Well, in this book, we got to see LOTS more of these two and there were even more hints at something in their future. I won’t spoil what happens, but they get thrown together – and their story leads us into the next book. I love that Stalder finally started one of the couples out with something other than an instant connection (which has been my main complaint about the romances so far).

The war.
Of course, we also got to see more of Ludwig and the different rebel factions. It seems that there are quite a few unknowns out there still – Ludwig definitely isn’t the only enemy!

The negatives:

Unbelievable circumstances.
Okay, there were parts of this book where I was scratching my head a bit. As the synopsis says, Missy infiltrates the enemy in order to try to save Tyler. Except there were times where she just didn’t seem to be hiding all that well. At a few points, Missy is asked to put herself in potentially dangerous situations – where she should have felt frightened of BOTH Tyler and the people asking her. She agrees with very little persuading needed. It just didn’t make sense to me – surely this should have been a major red flag for the people she was supposedly trying to fool. I don’t know why they would even ask her to put herself in the situation in the first place – without a reason (the desire to save Tyler), why would anyone ever say yes? People occasionally seemed slightly suspicious when she agreed over and over again to put herself in harm’s way, but not nearly enough. I really had to suspend disbelief in some of these parts.

This was another strong book in the series and it definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what Stalder does in book #4! 4/5 stars.

Tested is another awesome instalment in the New World series but this time it took on a different feel.
This book had its set up at the end of book 2 when Tyler is snatched off the street and bundled into a van with Missy looking on. They already shared a connection but Missy is very timid and terrified of men – with good reason- and Tyler is ALL man which scares her. Two weeks go by and no one can find him, he hasn’t been seen or heard from since but then they get a tip that a van has been seen taking people from the streets and transporting them to a facility and it looks like this is the break they need but there is one problem – whoever has him, knows everyone in their group….. except Missy. So Missy is Tylers only hope, this shy, timid girl who couldn’t hurt a fly must put herself on the line and go undercover to see if they have Tyler and what is going on.
When she gets there she does indeed find Tyler, but he’s not the Tyler they all know anymore, he has no recognition of who she is but he knows one thing when he sees her…..MINE. Now Missy must race against time to get them both out of there because something is about to happen and none of it is good.
Sounds great right? Well it was and as I mentioned- it took on a different feel this time around but I thought the tone of the book fit perfectly with Missy, it was a more sedate feel, yes there was violence but it was controlled violence and it proved to Missy that the one person she found herself having feelings for could indeed protect her and that even wrapped up in all of that masculinity and power – that she had nothing to fear from Tyler – which was quite healing for her. I was so pleased to see her face her fears, come to terms with her situation and not fall apart, reading of this girl trying to save a man who you would never have thought needed saving was so heart-warming, she is the hero, she saves the day and I love! that this character got to do this. The relationship that developed was sweet, obviously we know that Missy wouldn’t just jump Tyler and vice versa and we know that it would be slow going but that didn’t mean that we don’t get those steamy moments, we do but as I say, it’s all about the tone of the situation that builds steadily to its crescendo.
The storyline wasn’t as action packed as the previous two until towards the end, it was about the set up and what seems to be looming on the horizon. We are seeing preparations being made on all sides with our favourite characters seemingly stuck in the middle and you can feel the change in tactics. We still get a good few points of view from all sides that balances out the story well and you know where everyone's mindset is but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be a few surprises because there are definitely some big ones and I mean huge! Both sides of the war – NWO/Rebels - seem to have gotten ‘a desperation’ about them and maybe aren’t making rational thought out decisions which can only mean one thing – devastation! We also have new threats looming on the horizon and Trent & Phoenix’s story is definitely set up throughout this so I’m really excited to see where book four will go and it can’t come soon enough!

This is the third book in the New world series and I must admit that I as a bit worried that the series was expanding from the original sisters fortunately Missy didn’t disappoint

The Pros:

-Each book get’s better and better, they are not copies of the previous one with cardboard character, after reading you end up loving all the character for different reasons.

-Missy: Ye she is shy and comes off as very meek at the beginning of the book but she proves everyone wrong and turns out to be one of the strongest characters I’ve read about recently. The author did a great job writing her character since she is not the typical heroine, she is not a leather wearing kick ass nor is she the super intelligent girl that I incredibly pretty but doesn’t know it; another thing I loved is that Missy had lived some horrible things that needed time to heal and he got more than one book to do so.

-I like that we still see old characters, many author that tend to forget about some character after writing their book but I’m glad to see Bridget ad Roman.

-Ludwing is still my favorite villain ever, he till continues to amaze me. He expects the best from his army and when they make a mistake he isn’t all oh well they were the chosen one that no one can defeat, he actually gets mad and calls his soldier out.

The Cons

-Not enough Ludwing.

-I would’ve liked to see more of the testing that held Tyler, I just love reading about places here experiments are taking place.

-The last 10% of the book was a preview of another of the authors book, I wanted more Missy

Last thoughts

I’m pretty excited for the net book Phoenix looks like one of those characters that I either love with all my heart or one that I ill dislike but I have complete faith that Janelle Stalder will get me to love her.

Tested is book three in the New World Series. I recommend that you read Switch and Marked first to appreciate the impact of book three.

Wowsers. This book was hot. Smoking hot. Tested features Missy and Tyler’s story.

Tyler was kidnapped back in book two. We find out who was responsible and why he was taken during an action packed ride in this world destroyed by apposing forces.

Tyler was already all things man. Rugged and handsome, not to mention built, and with an accent to die for. We find out that he has been taken to a testing facility and enhanced with the General’s special formula.

We knew Missy had suffered trauma in her life, causing her to become somewhat of a hermit. Missy relates to Tyler what it was that happened to make her so afraid of being around men. My heart went out to her.

Missy’s time spent at home and away from the work of the Archer’s makes her the perfect person to infiltrate the facility where Tyler is being kept. She faces her fears and enters the unknown to do what she can to save him.

Missy makes it onto the staff of the facility. She finds Tyler and is disheartened to realise that he has changed. He has lost everything he once was. The staff come to realise that Missy can be used to control Tyler after she sneaks into his cell and is caught, setting off Tyler’s super protective mode. His growls of “Mine”, were enough to get me all tingly and wish I was in Missy’s place.

What follows is an action packed, yet hot and steamy race to escape and re-join the others.

The plot thickens when a new player is introduced into the game when Phoenix and Trent are also kidnapped.

Book four called Underground will be their story and I cant wait to find out just who has taken them.

This series could easily be made into a movie or television series due to its originality. As the series progresses the story draws me in more and more. A must read of 2014.

"What are we to each other?"
He breathed in deeply, letting it out in a slow release.
"What are we to each other?" he repeated. "Well, I don't know about you, but to me you are everything."

First of all that damn Scot is so freaking mine I don't care if I loved Missy with him, Tyler Scott is mine.

What is there not to love? He is a Scot, so when he talks he will make you melt with that weird but hot accent. He is all beefy and tall with tattoos here and there on his delicious body. His beard, hello?! I mean come on that is just freaking cool and all kinds of yummy. Then we got a couple of unbelivably crazy beautiful green eyes on him? Seriously those eyes could have been enough for me. I know I can't see him, but the picture in my head is very close to perfection. Let's not forget about his personality, this hulk is the sweetest man ever. I never wanted the book to end because I really didn't want to leave Tyler!!

"You're the first thing I think about when I wake up, and the last thing I think about when I go to sleep. You're the only person I want by my side every second of every day. You, Missy, are the most important person in my life now. I will do everything and anything to make you happy, so long as you let me."

Okay so Missy was wonderful and I loved her being Tyler's girl. They were without a doubt the sweetest couple in this series so far. The plotline was really good as well. And the end made me want to know what a hell the new "group" in their crazy world had for agenda. Phoenix and Trent will be so much fun to read about! Can't wait for their story!!

"I love you, Tyler" she whispered, her voice shaking,
"And I you, lass."

***I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.***

We met Tyler in Switch for a brief moment and we met Missy in Masked. The only thing is, Tyler ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time and Missy is the only one who can save him. But in order for her to do that, she has to overcome her fears. What she doesn’t anticipate is falling for the giant Scot.

I really like Missy and Tyler. She thinks she’s weak, but she’s so strong. She’s capable and she’s human and she’s stronger than anyone imagines…except Tyler. And though he knows she’s made of stern stuff that doesn’t stop him from wanting to protect her at all costs. And when she comes to save him, that need is heightened a hundred fold. And while they were gone, Trent and Phoenix disappeared as well. Ludwig loses his cool, and the General loses control of what he thought was his ticket to power. Pete and Charlotte are still around as are Roman and Bridgette. Most of this book spent so much time away from everyone, that we don’t see much of them. And this book leaves off with preparation for the next book. Which is Trent and Phoenix’s story. I can’t wait to read it. The chemistry between those two is thick and antagonistic. So, it’s going to be funny.

Ms. Stalder’s universe is getting larger because we’re not just in New Berlin any longer, we’re also going into the countryside. And there’s mention of the US Military getting involved. So, I can’t wait to see where she’s going to take this world of hers. So would I recommend this book? YES! I think this is the best book so far of them all. :D

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC to review. I want to start off by saying that I haven't read the first two books in this series. Had I, my review would probably be 5 stars. This book COULD be read as a stand alone, but I wouldn't recommend it. I pieced a lot together, but there is a lot of back story that is going on here that has likely been covered in the previous books. I read Janelle's standalone romance, brushstrokes

This story goes from multiple viewpoints, but mainly Missy and Tyler. Missy has a traumatic history (not sure how in depth this was covered in previous books) of being gang raped. She has some pretty serious PTSD and trust issues (who wouldn't?). The one person she started to feel safe with was a part of their group, called the Archers, who were basically rebels of the Rebel group. The world leader and the leader of the Rebels were both power hungry and twisted, and they thought the world wouldn't be a good place in either hands. In the previous book (probably a cliffhanger), Tyler gets taken.

Missy feels responsibility for this. The group hasn't had any signs of him and it's been a few weeks. They finally get a tip when Missy's Sister, Phoenix, gets a tip from a homeless man. They track down where Tyler is being held, but the only person who's identity hasn't been blown is Missy's. Is she willing to face down her demons and leave her safe haven to go undercover and try to rescue Tyler?

Another really good read in this series. Once again the thing I really like about this series is the way it always continues the same story as the previous book, but from a new main character's point of view. This book focused mainly on Missy - the shy traumatised girl who is a member of the Archers rebel group. In this book Missy finally has to confront the trauma of her past and get past her fears of men and being away from her home in order to go undercover and save Tyler. Tyler has been kidnapped by the General's scientists and is being used as a test subject in an experimental trial to give humans enhanced abilities.
I loved the way Missy and Tyler's relationship developed. It took her some time to learn to trust him, but even when he was under the influence of the trial drugs he didn't betray that trust and never harmed her like she might have originally expected. They were both interesting characters and I loved getting to here their story. I also really liked how their story was told while still including details about what was happening to other members of their rebel group and also what Ludwig was doing too.
Overall it was a really great read and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I'd recommend picking this series up if you're looking for a good dysotopian romance that is fast-paced and easy to read.

Once again, Janelle Stalder has outdone herself! Tested is the brilliant third book in the New World Series, and I tell you, they just get better!

**Minor spoiler alert of book two below.**

Tested follows Tyler and Missy after Tyler is abducted at the end of book two. Missy is the only one whose face hasn't been seen by their enemies, so she's the one sent behind the lines. She's damaged because of her past; she's quiet; but she's stronger than she seems. Missy soon learns that about herself.

Tyler is the hottest Scotsman I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. He's tough as nails, and he's sweet as can be! He is captured and things happen to him that give him pause about certain aspects of his life, but there's one thing that he knows for sure, Missy is his and will always be.

As Missy and Tyler fight for his escape against the General and Ludwig, they quickly decide that what they were feeling before he was captured is a 100 times deeper now that they've grown closer during his capture.

This is a brilliant romanctic, action-packed dystopian novel, and if you haven't read the first two books, get ready to stay up all night reading so you can devour book three, too!

This book solely focuses on the romance between Tyler and Missy. There isn't much plot development, and none of the other characters make much of an appearance (Charlotte, Ludwig, etc.). Missy is such a weak and minor character to begin with and she really can't pull off an entire book on her own. At first she was pretty brave, etc. but then there is a traumatic event further into the book and she just shuts down and not much happens after that until the end. I understand how this is going (a different character for every book), but I think the series would have been stronger to focus every book on moving along the plot with the main and interesting characters (like Charlotte) and interweave the others as possible. It just didn't match the caliber of the proceeding books.

NOTE: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this series just get's better book after book. This is the third book in the New World Series. In this installment of it, we get to see Missy break out of her shell. She transformation from meek and skiddish due to her past into a woman on a mission to get Tyler... *swoon* Tyler, regardless of he has endured he knows he cares for Missy and will keep her safe. These two go through some disterbing situations but come out on top. When they finally reach safety, the rest of the group let's them both know that two more members of their group have been taken and the skills Tyler has can come into play. As always there is never a dull moment, just gasps and swoons. So charge your e-reader because you will not be able to put this book down.

Tyler is a God!

Best story of the series so far! I loved Missy's emotions. I could almost feel them so real. And I loved the way Tyler made her feel and think. I love that he loved her for who she was. And I loved his beard!

Janelle sucked me in again. And after not being able to concentrate on a book for a month I love that she captured me and lured me back into reading mode!

Can't wait for the next sequel!
