Lilli loved to call Mikhail ‘asshole’ a lot lol. It was pretty funny when she curse and Mikhail would reprimand her while he was cursing as well. Saying it was unlady like to curse.
Mikhail pretty much hooked at first sight. He was interested at Lilli and soon wanted to know everything that happened to her.
At first they kinda at each other’s throat but slowly started to opened up. Especially after they were being intimate.
There were a lot of grammatical errors but not that bad.
Would love to have better ending for them but since this would be an interconnected series maybe we’ll see more of them in the next books?

In "Damaged Gods" Mikhail Romanov appears as a strong and cold man. He doesn´t speak much and gives nothing away. He speaks in short sentences and everybody fear him. In the new book by Stella Andrews he tries to find the murderer of his father. He didn´t expect to be confronted with a woman, who doesn´t fear to speak her mind freely in his present.
Lilli is a young grieving woman, who wants revenge for the death of her sister.
As their eyes met for the first time their world shifted.
This makes me giggle: "I said nothing, because Mikhail would probably malfunction at the mere mention of the word love."
I love Stellas writing skills. Her books are always easy to read even for me as non-native speaker. ;) When I´m in a reading slump her books are always a good catch to escape. :)

Mikhail wants answers.
Mikhail wants answers regarding his father's murder and when he sees someone trying to kill the man who may have answers he grabs the would be assassin. When Mikhail discovers it is a young woman named Lilli who almost killed the guy he needed to speak with he finds Lilli may also have some answers for him and he seems a tad bit obsessed with her. Will Mikhail get his answers? Will Lilli get her revenge?

The Romanovs!
Burning Roses is the first book in Stella Andrews' new Series of interconnected standalones featuring the Romanov Family, most precisely, Mikhail Romanov.
Two of the Romanovs we already heard about, Alexei from the Dark Lords series in Prety Evil and Mikhail's apearence in Damaged Gods that brought us to the present state of affairs where the Romanovs lost their patriarch and Mikhail wants to find the killer, but ends up bumping on a dense net of secretism, dangerous liasons and a name, Iris Mahoney.
Lilli is on a mission, a truculous one, but she will kill the responsible for her sister's demise, no questions asked, no consequences feared.....if only.....

Kidnaped her....

They started by chance and askew, if weren't for the fact that Lilli had the starting aswers to Mikhail's pursuit of his father's killer and would keep her for as long as he needed.
This is a story of first intentions and finding something you weren't looking for and didn't know you needed.
Mikhail was a powerful and feared man, Lilli was a lost soul fighting the demons of a life little sympathetic to her and trying to serve a tiny bit of justice, with the meager means she had, in the name of the only person in her heart, her beloved dead sister.
Lilli and Mikhail so different in every aspect of their lives, with a common goal, vengeance.
These two were absolutely, amanzingly h.o.t.! The tension was off the charts 🥵🥵🥵 and the banter defiant and the funniest thing! Lilli was simple, honest and truthful, with no filter or discret dialogue, something a man like Mikhail wasn't used to, specially in the world of wealth and power he was raised in and I completely understand the appeal and his obsession. There was nothing fake about Lilli, she simply was.
It was fear and reluctance at first, but soon she realized Mikhail, besides his imposing, demanding and controling a$$holeness, was a protector at heart and he would take care of her along with getting the revenge she desperately needed. A dance between desire and defiance, obsession and concession (some) and the love Mikhail thought he wasn't capable of and Lilli dreamed, but would never get due to a past she was ashamed of, but never had any control above it. And that, was always the message Mikhail insisted Lilli to listen, her family was taken advantage of, Reggie endured what she could and Lilli would be next, hadn't she decided to get, at least, at Carter Lamont. A victim of dire circumstances, but most of all, a survivor, Lilli took the first step, a wobbly one at that, but one that would bring her to a world she heard about, of sharks and sordid intentions, of powerful bad men, those who preyed on the unfortunate, others that would prey on them. For all the tragedy Lilli went through, she ended up on Mikhail's, the bad side at first, on his heart at last!
Very energetic and mysterious, the narrative develops to the pace of revelations and closed doors, between London and the States and the realization that there is so much more to uncover about the secret life of the Romanov patriarch and the trail of suspicion that leads there.
A glimpse to the next intallment showed that Valentin Romanov is next and a new exciting adventure will be coming soon!.

Not the worst Bratva/mafia book I’ve read but not the best either.

Mikhail honestly gave me whiplash, and I did not like him. He was very hypocritical in my eyes and I didn’t enjoy that. His back and forth behavior was dragged out, he would be loving and protective of Lilli one moment but then another, treat her like a wh*re(not in a good way) and wonder why she would be upset about that even given her past😅 I feel there were no sense in his behavior and it just didn’t work for me. Maybe it was the way it was written I don’t know.
Lilli I liked more!
She continued to challenge Mikhail and it was hilarious at times. She would however also fold quickly but she would make up for it by challenging and antagonizing him again and again which I liked🙃 She was a quite good communicator as well, even though she was unsure or scared of Mikhail’s reaction to her speaking her mind she would still do it.
In specific situations I did wish for more of a backbone on her though.
The story was veryyyy fast paced a little too fast, and with unfortunately an unsatisfactory ending for me. It ended really abruptly and I was not quite expecting it. The story was still missing something for me, Answers in the plot, lacked conclusion in some ways - things like that. I was not aware that some of the plotlines would continue in the next book but even after I learned that, it was unsatisfactory for me which was unfortunate.
One last thing. The author wrote in Lilli’s pov —
“And despite wanting to unleash a filthy tirade of Tourette’s onto him”
—
I don’t think that it’s nice to use Tourette’s in this way.
If I have misunderstood the sentence please let me know (if anyone even reads this)

Wow that was hard to read. Not very well written and ends really abruptly.
I still can’t honestly say whether I enjoyed this one or not. In parts it was okay then in others I hated it. Mikhail is absolutely awful at times to Lilli and at times I hated him, then at others he’s really sweet with her. Apart from getting whiplash with his character I was beginning to wonder if he’s a psycho as his moods change from one moment to the next. One page he treats Lilli like he cares about her, the next he treats her like she’s whore and she has to have s*x with him when he says. 🤮 One page he’s thinking he’ll never love anyone and he hasn’t got a heart, on the next page he’s declaring he loves Lilli and will she marry him. There’s no build up to his declaration, and it felt like the author had got bored of writing it so ended it. Weird.
Lilli meets Mikhail when she’s about to shoot someone that Mikhail needs to discover who murdered his father. When he realises that Lilli’s sister, (Her sister is dead.) would have pertinent information to his investigation, Mikhail makes her a deal that she’ll stay with him for a 100 days, and she will give him her sisters diary. In return he’ll help her to get revenge on the man that she wanted to shoot. At first I hated Mikhail as he treats her like a possession that he owns. The scene when he discovers that Lilli is a virgin is beyond gross. 🤮🤮🤮. If she wasn’t a virgin it felt like he was going to rape her. Even though he said he wouldn’t force her. Eventually he opens up to her but I still wasn’t keen.
There are parts to this book that are thought provoking, but it finishes so abruptly that it totally ruined it. The epilogue is about the next book and it feels like it finished halfway through. 😡
I won’t read the next book. I’m not a fan of cold men like Mikhail.

If you love all the books written by Stella, you will agree with me when I say, we have been spoiled, she never lets us down.
If you haven’t read any book by Stella, I can’t believe it and must say you don’t know what you’re missing.
This book is the story of Mikhail, who is almost Russian royalty and everything you could wish for, tall, good looking with a body to die for. He is on a mission to try and find out who killed his father and is on his way to a meeting, to find out information he requires.
Enter Lilli, who comes from a very different life than him. Her father died from his alcoholism, her mother took up with a rogue who keeps her drugged up. He then abuses Reggie who is the older sister of Lilli. Reggie had taken her own life and Lilli was out to seek revenge.
The paths of both Mikhail and Lilli cross, in not the best way you would want. The story starts there and takes you on a journey of hate, anger, lust, revenge, uncertainty and carries it with you along the journey. You grow with the story and you can’t read it quick enough.
Lilli is so different and you can’t fail to grow to love her and her mannerisms, attitude and purity.
Mikhail is also on his own journey of discovery, from only using whores or women for one night only, no getting attached.
Will there be a HEA, you must read and enjoy the journey.
I can’t wait for the Valentin and Polly story.

A captivating read from start to finish, Mikheil and Lilli his little Assassin are wonderful characters
Mikheil had see the man approaching the group and he was acting suspiciously, when they had stopped him, they discovered that he was carrying a pistol and was ready to kill Carter Lamont.
Imagine their surprise when the discovered that the young man was in fact a young woman, one that he felt was to be more important to him than he could ever have envisioned.
Lilli had an older sister Reggie that had meant the world to her and she had been cruelly mistreated by her stepfather and it was obvious that the reason she had taken her life was because of this. Lilli also knew of a woman Iris Mahoney that had been involved in the death of Mikheil’s father, all of the details were in her sister Reggie’s diary which she was prepare to give to him so that he could find some answers.
I guarantee that you will be captivated by this story and the action of the main characters, it has been written in such great detail you will love this story.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all their wonderful writing.

Lilli has lost everything and is bent on avenging the death of a loved one. Mikhail stops her from killing the man she holds responsible, instead he offers her help with her quest for revenge, but she has to agree to staying with him for a 100 days. Let the games begin.
Lilli is sassy and strong willed, not the meek pushover Mikhail expects. He on the other hand shows Lilli a softer part of himself and the two regret ever making the 100 day pact.
This story is tragic and is the stuff of nightmares at times. The horrors that Lilli has endured, that put her in Mikhail's path also seem to be tangled in a mystery surrounding the death of Mikhail's father.
Lilli brings part of Mikhail to life he never realised was possible and he is more determined this sassy, damaged girl is not going anywhere if he can help it. The passion and heat that builds between our hero and heroine is explosive and they will hold on to you right up to the last page.
As always this is an epic read from the pen of Stella Andrews. I can't wait for the release of Weeping Roses, in which we hopefully will solve the mystery that is left hanging at the end of this book.

Another thought provoking tale from Stella as we meet again Mikhail and delve into his life. As we saw from the previous book he is reckless, living on the edge, caring little for anyone other than his family.
The way he meets Lilli,is so totally unexpected, she is someone he would never have met in the course of his usual activities. I love Lilli, she is a tragic heroine with a thirst for revenge. With Mikhail she can achieve her aims, although he frustrates and charms her in equal measure, being a man used to getting his own way without fail.
Love the way that she is the tonic for his jaded life and almost against his will he is fascinated by her. She has an inner strength and a desire to see justice delivered that calls to him as a kindred spirit.
They make a fascinating couple, their irresistible attraction for each other, smoothing over their differences. Some spicy scenes here, so jealous of Lilli, she is one lucky girl.
The Romanov’s are setting us up for another amazing series, there are so many questions already. Will we discover more of Mikhail father’s secrets in the next book?

The beginning of a new series is here and Stella Andrews does not disappoint. This time we get to focus on the Russian men that are sexy, stubborn, and hardheaded. Seeking out the secret to who killed his father, Mikhail Romanov crosses paths with assassin Lilli Atherton, who is out for revenge against the killer of her sister Reggie. They are their own unique couple as all of Stella’s characters are with having attraction to each other but also having major push and pull relationship tendencies creating a hot and explosive romance. This book just begins the next mystery and problem solving of family affairs and secrets needing to be solved. The book does end on a cliffhanger, so if you do not care for them, I recommend waiting till the series is complete and that will not be long.

This new saga The Romanovs is a juicy one!! A very powerful and influential Russian family is portrayed in this book, it’s Mikhail Romanov’s journey to hell and heaven at the same time. He’s searching for the person or persons responsible for his fathers untimely murder in their home and will stop at nothing in reaching his objectives. Stella does it again in gripping your interest from the very first page. The mysterious venues, the twists and turns you don’t see coming, the very enthralling and alluring sexual chemistry between the main characters Mikhaïl and Lilli leading them to uncharted territory where their real souls are revealed. This book one is filled with secrets and lies that are partly revealed but yet incredibly captivating that had my heart in knots and mind emotionally overflowing. I’m definitely addicted to Stella’s BOOKS ! a 5 stars and more rating!

Don’t miss out! suspense, drama, steam, HEA.
What a start to the Romanov books. Who’s have thought Mikhail would have a soft centre well where Lilli is concerned anyway. They both want answers & revenge for their respective losses and they just happen to be the key to solving each other’s answers. The fact they fall in love is just the cherry on top. There are so many answers still to be found in the future books and I cannot wait for them to be here already. You must not miss this book or any of Stella’s other books. The writing is beautiful & keeps you glued to the book but not wanting to finish them at the same time.

There are so many answers still to be found in the future books and I cannot wait for them to be here already. You must not miss this book or any of Stella’s other books. The writing is beautiful & keeps you glued to the book but not wanting to finish them at the same time.

Mikhail Romanovs was on a mission to find out who killed his father and stops an assassination before the assassin kills his suspect, Carter Lamont. Mikhail is surprise and intrigued to find out the assassin is a very lovely high spirited female, Lilli. Mikhail is used to women falling all over him and boy was he surprised when Lilli doesn’t and she gives him heck. As they get better acquainted, and Mikhail finds out that Lilli is being abused by her mother & stepdad. Mikhail becomes her shield and Lilli becomes his heart while they look for the truth. Mikhail is a different person around Lilli and it was fun watching the interaction between the two.

Burning Roses is a dark mafia romance and the first book in the Romanovs series. Mikhail Romanov is the family member who features in this book. Mikhail stops Lilli from murdering one of the men responsible for her sister's death and makes her his prisoner. Mikhail has never been interested in women, except in a purely physical way, but this changes once he encounters Lilli. Lilli initially fights against his control but eventually realises his feelings are sincere. He helps her get revenge on those who hurt her and her sister. Dark, fast-paced, mafia romance, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

They meet when he stops her from assassinating the man he thinks has a name that leads to the death of his father. What Mikhail didn't know was that his assassin is a woman and one look after cleaning her starts them along their journey. Lilli wants revenge for the death of her sister and staying with Mikhail looks like the route to do it. this action-packed story kept me glued to the story and all caught up in Mikhail and Lilli's drama.

However, for a man so used to being in control, Lilli gets under his skin and he really doesn't know how to handle that. As he tries to find out who murdered his father, Lilli can supply some information that appears in her sister's diary. As ever some, twists and turns in this hot romance.

What a book, written beautifully about lilli, and everything that she had endured, but finally, not being able to take anymore, made a fatal error
, which brought her in the path of mikhail, and how some how both their family were connected by, secret organisation, even though they were from, very different lives, brilliant loved how he loved to ryle her up at every turn and how much she fought back , highly recommend.

Wow another gripping and exciting Romanov story this time we get two stories in one with Mikhail Romanov and Lilli "Lilli Flower". Two total opposites brought together through mutual enemies.
Not to mention leaving us with another exciting cliff hanger!! and, prelude to the next part of the book series, story, Weeping Roses.
I devoured this book, I loved that the more we learn about Mikhail's family quest the more questions it raises.

Mikhail meets Lilli during a tense moment. Through sadness and trauma they come together. I loved their characters. Lilli is the best person for Mikhail. This book was well written. While it is a stand alone book, reading other books will bring things together full circle. I love how interconnected Stella’s books are. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to be released.

I have been a fan of Stella Andrews for quite some time.
Mikhail was introduced to me in a previous book and I am thrilled that he gets his own book. Mikhail is a strong alpha male that is used to getting his way, but when Lilli enters his life he might have definitely met his match. Mikhail and Lilli have a unique relationship. This is a fantastic start to this series.

Absolutely loved this book!! Mikhail Romanov is next in the family business to find out who killed their father but in doing so he comes across Lilli a woman bent on her on revenge on a man for what he did to her sister that mikhail becomes obsessed with wanting to save her. Will she agree to be his or walk away?.

It's a really great book!
This book ties to the other series..( Dark Lords ) This is about another powerful family from Russia and the woman who takes this very powerful man's heart. It's a perfect balance of dark mafia, hot and steamy scenes and a mystery about who murdered the Patriarch of the family. I loved Lily and how strong she is. Mikhail is obsessed with her and the two are on fire! HEA guaranteed and it sets us up for the next book!

I am sure you will enjoy it too.

Brutally intense, unrepentantly raw and fiercely emotional, Mikhail and Lilli's story sucks you in and under just like a riptide and once it has you, you aren't going anywhere because you will be totally fixated and feverishly devouring page after page. What a thrill ride! Can't wait for the next book.

Mikhail finally gets his book, and OMG! I am drooling it is soooooo good. I think I found my new book boyfriend move over Lilli. People run don’t walk to get this book it’s another must read by Stella Andrews! Bummer of it is I finished it and now I have to wait on pins and needles for Valentin’s book Weeping Roses!

Who knew the dark, emotionless Russian had a soft side? Lilli brought out Mikhail's softer protective side. It was an amusing journey of push and pull. There are so many questions that need to be answered. I cannot wait for the next book and the fall of the next brother.

I can’t get enough of Stella Andrews books. She never disappoints me with any of her stories and let me tell you I absolutely loved “Burning Roses”! Lilli and Mikhail journey was one heck of a rollercoaster ride. If you want a good romance with lots of action, alpha men and some serious heat, then this book is for you!.
